RT' Malkiel Koter & R Feldman Openly Defy R' Chaim Kanievsky's Ruling That One Must Vote for the WZO.... Video

When you have Litvishe Roshei Yeshivah openly defy their gadol, then what do we want from the regular Joe Shmoe?

Rabbi Aron Feldman and Rabbi Malkiel Kotler threatened to quit the Moetzes Gedolei Hatorah of Agudas Israel of America of which they are both members, even after  Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, the leading Posek of Lithuanian Jewry had issued a bombshell ruling.

Rabbi Shmuel Kamenetsky wrote Rabbi Kanievsky a two page handwritten in depth letter, presenting the question of whether one should vote in the WZO elections. Rabbi Kanievsky responded that it was 100% permitted according to Halacha, giving the strongest backing possible to Rabbi Kamenetsky and Rabbi Elya Brudny who had both ruled it was permitted before coming under attack for their opinion.
Meanwhile, a Moetzes meeting was held on the phone where the issue was discussed. Rabbi Kotler and Rabbi Feldman once again questioned Rabbi Kamenetsky who responded by reading his in depth letter and response from Rabbi Kanievsky. The meeting was immediately adjourned.
Rabbi Kamenetsky then held an hour-long phone conversation with Rabbi Gershon Edelstein, the Rosh Yeshiva of Ponevezh in Bnei Brak, who reiterated the position of Rabbi Kanievsky. He also added his own strong backing to encourage the public to vote.

Following that conversation, Rabbi Kamenetsky recorded a minute-long video instructing everyone to vote.
In the video, Rabbi Kamenetsky says that it is clear to him after his conversation with Rabbi Edelstein, that if one listens to the Gadol Hador and votes, he will perform two Mitzvos.

Firstly, he will perform the Mitzvah of following the instructions of the Gadol Hador (which was explicitly conveyed in Rabbi Kanievsky’s letter to Rabbi Kamenetsky, that the public should vote).

Secondly, one must perform the Mitzvah of helping Klal Yisroel, which will facilitated through voting. Therefore, says Rabbi Kamenetsky, one is obligated to vote. Rabbi Kamenetsky finishes off with by giving a blessing to those who vote, that they should be blessed by G-d, in the merit of performing the biggest Mitzvah that one can do, which is helping Klal Yisroel.
Despite all of this, Rabbi Feldman – who is the Rosh Yeshiva of Ner Yisroel of Baltimore – for some reason decided to release a letter on Friday in a Lakewood publication blasting Rabbi Brudny for stating that people should vote for the WZO.

Does the letter to Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky clearly explain the other position too? That it involves signing to such a declaration which is against The Torah? My guess is probably not.

Is it true that Rav Brudny withdrew?

The Philly Kaminetzkys have a history of duping the gedolei Eretz Yisroel, sometimes with the help of their shlock shammass Pinny Lipschutz.

And they are not the only ones. R' Chaim was even duped by people into signing to support monster child abuser Elior Chen

What the hell are you blabbering about?'
"signing to such a declaration which is against The Torah"
What is the against Torah?
Where does it say that signing a document that protects the Jewish State is against the Torah?

If you grandfather had a Zionist State of Israel in 1938 he wouldn't have been murdered ...your grandmother during the Chelemitzki pogroms would not have been brutally raped

Stop this Yeshivishe crap on this blog ... go preach that garbage on Rodney Street ..

I am the writer of 9:24.
If the discussion had been about the merits of whether or not to vote, then your rebuttal would be relevant. But your post was not about merits but about the fact that Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky ruled, so based on that I relevantly inquired whether he was actually presented both sides of the question, and that matters to this issue of Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky's ruling whether you think the other side is valid or not. So your rebuttal to me was not relevant.

I think you are closer ethnically to Rodney Street then Rav Aharon Feldman so if I were you I would shut up, as he is the one that wrote it's against the Torah...

You got to love the line: ....R' Chaim was even duped by people.....

Well, If Reb Chayim is subject to "dupping" as you guys clearly imply, then why rely on ANYTHING he says or prints (C'V) maybe he was dupped and dupped again and again (C'V). Aye. Your saying he "duppable" so nothing he says means anything.

Maybe you guys owe Reb Chayim a apology if that is still a option.
Maybe us guys - including myself - should just bud out of this issue and stay 'clean' spiritually and not second guess what out gedolim are arguing about.

Can one imagine ever saying that 'Abayeh DUPPED Ravah' chas veshalom ????

That is what you guys sound like. Nebach. Oiy lanu ki chatanu.

When it's someone's time it doesn't matter where they are. I don't agree with Satmar & Peleg and think their behavior is a disgrace but that position on 1938 & 1648 is secular rubbish. How many Yidden Hyd have already been killed by bloodthirsty Arabs in EY? And how many EYdik Yidden Hashem yishmerehem are in the firing range of rockets from Lebanon, Gaza & Iran that if they are all fired at once the Iron Dome is useless?

Feldman and Kotler are just puppets. The real puppet master pulling their strings and egging them on is Aron Schechter of Chaim Berlin yeshiva who is openly aligned with Satmar anti-Zionists.

your words sounds very familiar ...... right out of the mouths of the meraglim

עמלק יושב בארץ הנגב והחתי והיבוסי והאמרי יושב בהר והכנעני יושב על הים ועל יד הירדן

Its no wonder we are still waiting for Mashiach ..with groiseh tzaddikim like you, parroting the words of Apikorsim and Meenim!

Kotler is always the one making issues. just frkn follow what the REAL gedolei hatorah (r kamenetzky,r Edelstein, and r kanievsky) are saying and cut all the crap out. I feel like no one gives a flip about him so he always argues with everyone else in order to keep his name out there!
