Your post is lacking in accuracy.
Degel HaTorah (Litvishe Haredim, including some Hasidim as well) with Maran Rav Chaim Kanievsky shlit"a endorsed Leon. So did Shas.
Chasidim endorsed Deitsch, who is a Slonimer Hasid.
At the end, Leon, backed by Shas and Degel Hateyrah (Litvishe Haredim), beat the Hasidic candidate, Deitsch, by close to a two to one margin (Leon got almost double the votes of Deitsch).
