French Jewish Man Slaughtered and burned By Muslim Roommate

A Jewish man was murdered in a gruesome attack by his Muslim roommate, according to a Monday report by a French Jewish anti-Semitism watchdog group.

According to a statement by the National Bureau of Vigilance against Antisemitism, 34-year-old Eyal Haddad was murdered on August 20. the incident occurred in Longperrier, just northeast of Paris.

According to the report, the Muslim murderer originally told police that he committed the heinous act over 100 euros he was owed, but later admitted he did it because the victim was Jewish.

The suspect, identified as Mohamed Dridi, “smashed the skull of his victim with an axe, then he burned his face and even began to bury the body,” the BNVCA said.

He then turned himself in to police, where he was arrested and placed in detention.

French authorities have not yet confirmed the incident, but already members of the Jewish community are sounding the alarm on social media in regard to the lack of official responses.

Damien Rieu, a far-right French activist and member of Eric Zemmour’s party, was the only politician to mention the killing on Twitter.

“Still no press article to inform us about the circumstances of the death of #EyalHaddad?” he questioned.

Such incidents bring to mind the 2017 murder of Sarah Halimi, a 65-year-old thrown from her window, which sparked a national outcry after authorities let her Muslim killer off the hook due to marijuana consumption, even after the court concluded he was motivated to kill Halimi because she was Jewish.

These horrific incidents are not isolated, rather they are part of an epidemic in France, in which Jews are targeted by vicious antisemites.

In May, 89-year-old René Hadjaj was pushed out of his 17th-story window by a neighbor, and according to prosecutors, it “may” have been because he was Jewish.

Last year, Jeremy Cohen, a 31-year-old Jew, died after being hit by a tram in the town of Bobigny, near Paris.

Initially, his death was reported as a “pedestrian being run over,” but video footage later showed that his death was prompted by an attack.

In the video, Mr. Cohen is attacked by a large group before running away from the crowd and being hit by a tram.

In 2018, 85-year-old Mireille Knoll was brutally stabbed by two men looking for “hidden treasures” in her Paris apartment.
