CBN is a WhatsApp News Site representing the Yeshivish world, primarily in Lakewood!
It really gives the news short and concise and almost as soon as its happening!
On Friday they posted a comment (see below) from a follower that is fed up with the Chareidie hashkafa that it shouldn't serve in the IDF!
The guy actually makes a lot of sense, and CBN probably, without giving it too much thought, posted it!
It didn't take 5 minutes that CBN had to say that it is not their opinion and that they follow "Daas Torah" whatever that means! They must have gotten, as they admitted, tremendous backlash!
The truth is that most thinking and sane Charediem think exactly like that guy (below) and I would venture to say that CBN also agrees but had to back off because of $$$$$$$!
I understand that completely!
Below the sane guy's comments, I am posting CBN's panicked response after getting hell from his brainwashed Fakewood followers!!
Having said that, I know that most Charedim cannot understand why Charedim are not there to defend their families after all, its our country, our soldiers and there is a "lav" in the Torah of לא תעמוד על דם רעך !

I see this as a failure of yiddishkeit that we have parents and Zaydies who need to fight because there are those who think they are Pattur from a milchamah because of Talmud Torah. Somewhere along the line, daas torah took a wrong turn.
If the charedi leadership truly cared about this chiyuv to serve, they wouldn’t just say
“the army service pulls people off the derech,”
they would make it work. The idf is desperate enough for soldiers that if the charedi leadership came to them in good faith and said “here are our conditions for us to send you 60,000 soldiers,” the idf would bend over backwards to make it happen.

A couple of points I need to clarify.

*I want to start by apologizing, not for posting an opinion, but rather, if the posts I sent offended anyone with deep emotions on the matter.*
*CBN is not a closed forum. We allow people’s opinions to be heard and said. There are tens of thousands of people on CBN with different opinions on this explosive topic. In hindsight, I probably should not have posted an opinion like this on a Friday morning…*
When it comes to Daas Torah, a subject I probably should have stayed away from due to limited understanding, I’ll just say this: The Chazon Ish ZT”L devoted years trying to resolve the matter and unfortunately couldn’t. We’re certainly not going to be the ones to settle it now.
*There are thousands of Rabbanim, each with their own shitos, and CBN’s position is simple: everyone has the right to follow their own Daas Torah.*
That said, my personal opinion is that this is far beyond my level, and it’s a matter that should be left to the Gedolei Yisroel of the generation. My hope is that Hashem helps us reach a true resolution to this major issue once and for all.

CBN here- although I never post on these types of blogs I felt this one required a response . Your take is way off. First off we are pro torah , pro daas torah and pro the IDF. Dont trash one of my guys without knowing the facts .
If you follow us you would clearly see that one of our team members felt it was post worthy and then realized right after what a “mine field” it was. If we were fake news then we could have easily deleted it before our almost 30,000 followers viewed it , but we are not like rest of the fake news media and we believe in transparency . We got more love than hate on the post. Just for your knowledge most “ chareidim” believe that this current war is not a milchamas mitzva( look it up ) regarding your $$$$$$$ statement , you dont know me and to make statement like that is pretty twisted and way off base. Feel free to give me a call if you would like to discuss further, I am an open book and always open to conversation ( im sure you know someone that has my number 😜)
Additionally, we dont represent the “yeshivish world “ we don’t represent anyone , we are Jews and try our best to educate all Jews about whats going on in world and the challenges that we face as a nation. You obviously dont know who I am.
We are not primarily Lakewood either and to use the phrase #Fakewood is not a nice thing to do especially during these challenging times .
To finish , my team doesn’t panic,we operate under fire all day, this was nothing .I just felt this post needed to be clarified .

I am a Charedie and all my clients are Charedie, having said that, they and their Torah leaders are of the opinion that this war is a "War of Attrition" and therefore falls into the category of a "Milchemes Mitzvah"
Question?
If 6,000 goyim would have chas ve'sholom entered Lakewood on Simchas Torah and murdered, raped and then kidnapped Charedim, would that have been a "Milchemes Mitzvah?"

So why is this not a "Milchemes Mitzvah?"
In Parshas Massai see the Rashi on the words "Vehorashtem" Rashi writes that it is a mitzvas Asseh to wipe all goyim living in Eretz Yisrael even if they are not from the 7 nations, and the Ramban says that this mitzvah is Bzman Hazeh!
And this is not even when our lives are in danger!
And Gadol who says that this is not a "Milchemes Mitzvah" hasn't been at a funeral of a fallen soldier!
I'm no rabbi and nor am I daughter of a rabbi but I'll bet if this G-d Forbid happened in Bnei-Brak, all rabbis would have said that this would be a "Milchemes Mitzvah"
as DIN pointed out that the Gedoilim said that the Mayoral Election in Beit Shemesh two years ago was a "Milchemes Mitzvah" and that Mayoral Election was between two Shoimre Torah Umitzvois"
So that's a "milchemes mitzvah" but this war is not a "Milchemes Mitzvah" this is enough to make us all apikorsim!
It was gracious of CBN to not give heck to DIN for ripping off some of their content on a regular basis without attribution
I don't rip off anything, I have been here for over 15 years, and I'm not a News site, this is a blog! I get over 70,000 views a week, and you can monitor that yourself by just looking a the Google count on the sidebar!
All of CBN"s content has their Logo on it, and they don't have reporters, so they get their news where everyone else gets it!
I could put my logo on as well but I don't because I am not a News Site, I write and cover what fits my agenda, and I'm open about it!
Unlike CBN and other sites, I don't have to pander to anyone, I don't make a living off my site, I am actually in Kollel most of the day!
