Satmar "letter to editor" chastises those Chassidim who throw the ends of their scarves over the shoulder"

I must say that Satmar to this blog is a gift that keeps on giving!
In a "letter to the editor" to the Blatt, the yiddish newspaper published by the Aronie faction of Satmar, a reader writes because he is upset that the newly married Satmar Chassidim that wear scarves, wrap the scarves around the neck and then "throw the ends over the shoulder" just like women. The writer questions whether this does not constitute a violation of the prohibition of "Lo Silbosh."
Now! I'm not certain if this is  some sort of a Chunakah joke, but the editor did print it among the other "important" letters!

Loosely translated:
I guess there was a previous letter referring to this new "minhag"

"In Honor of Der Blatt'
It didn't take long after the short letter (I guess it was in last week's edition) that a discussion is finally taking place among the Heimeshe Olom, that someone, finally, condemned this foolish fashion, of Bochrim, and married guys, who wear scarves, then throw the ends over their shoulder, which now borders on the "shaaleh" of not violating the prohibition of Lo Silbosh.
But for me this is not a chiddush; I remember that 10 years ago, The Rav of Burstein condemned this lewd practice on the 21st of Kislav Seuda,  to the students of  his Yeshivah.
And that was after some Bochrim and Married guys from the streets of Boro Park started this practice in his Bais Midrash when coming to daven, where the students of the Yeshiva also davened.
The Bursteiner Rebbe had mentioned this thru his "sweet lips" and strongly condemned this "lewedness" and the similar fashions that come together with other 'nisyoinis'in the darkness of this generation.
Kindly submit this letter in this week's edition since it is relevant to the 21 of Kislev (the anniversary of the Rebbe's rescue)"

That hypocrite vos rift zich Burshteener Rebbe has child rapist Burich Lebovits davening by his beis medrash!

The burstin REBBE is quite right that this new 'minhag' (gehinom in Hebrew has the same osios..), is possibly not permitted, its incomprehensible that this blogger, who is obviously not a RAV, should have an opinion on this ( and many other subjects ), that are way way beyond his realm of expertise,.

People throw the scarf around the neck because they are cold from biting wind.

The Gemara says that it is the wind that makes people sick

The Rishon Rashbash in the teshuvos says there is a posuk in Nach about death coming through the window, vos meint even a low level wind as in the form of a draft from a window can be deadly.

What kind of shtussim mit lokshin do these Hungarians come up with when they should be worried about menuvolim having unrestricted access to children in their mosdos?

To guard yourself from the wind, you don't have to wear the shawl in a way the women do, so there is definitely a 'sheila' if its 'muttar', ubifratt that those that used to wrap themselves I the normal way, only change because of non pure motives, usually it means that their minds and eye's and hearts are in the 'glitch' mode.

You have to chap hanuoh from a Rebbe who wears a fancy shmancy fur lined coat lapel to keep himself nice & toasty, an expensive fur that his chassidim paid for, while his poor chassidim are shivering because he orders them to keep their necks exposed in 20 degree below zero weather.

Does the Burshtin wear a za fancy shmancy fur?

I know his brother the Galanter Rebbe does because Ich hub em gezen shpatziring around with it.

If anything I would think it's veibish to wear a fur. Who wears fur coats besides veiber & freye men who act like veiber?

But before I get too critical, did the Burshtin asser thrown over scarves or shawls? I don't really know of men who wear shawls.

Since I am no expert in Yiddish, I am wondering if DIN is properly translating "Shal" as scarf instead of shawl.

What are in fact the correct Yiddish terms for scarf & shawl.

There is a big difference.

You scribble:
" its incomprehensible that this blogger, who is obviously not a RAV, should have an opinion on this ( and many other subjects ), that are way way beyond his realm of expertise,."

First of all, I didn't write an opinion on this, I just translated the "narisher" letter.

Second of all how much "expertise" does anyone need to realize that this is insane.... even someone who is not a Rav, can figure this out!

Second of all...you meshiginer, you forget this is a blog, I don't have to have a "realm of expertise" to comment...
any one reading the blog knows that this is my opinion .... just like the opinions of the editors of Der Goy...

To 3:44
With your logic a man can't wear underpants because men wear them in
"a way women do"

I am waiting with bated breath...
It's Sunday, we all have time...
tell us the difference..

A shawl is a gantze levush and I have never seen men wearing them.

I see a lot of chassidim around & don't see them wearing shawls either. So is this just an illiterate letter to editor writer who thinks a scarf is called a shawl?

To 4:00.
"first of all I didn't write an opinion etc", technically you didn't 'write' an opinion, but through your 'sarcasm' its even more than 'writing'.
'second of all how much 'expertise' does anyone need' etc, big part of your problem, YOU know EVERYTHING.......
''second of all (second time second of all), you meshi....., you forget this is a blog', I haven't forgotten, YOU have forgotten, there is no difference whatsoever, HKBH is all over, the TORA is all.encompassing, its you that keeps forgetting that.......

So now you can't wear a 'shawl to shul' anymore - if you are a man. New chumra for those who haven't got a life?

HKBH saw your comment on the prohibited blogs, too.

Show me, Mr. Expert, where it says in the Torah that I cannot "throw the ends of my scarf over my shoulder?"

HKBH created blogs like this to call out crazy and insane meshugaim, masquerading as poiskim.
Yes, it was sarcastic, you got that one right...
but what you got wrong is ... that you feel that a Rav that has child molesters in shul is a poisek, and can rule on insane, and idiotic shtusim v'havolim..
I'ts "poiskim" like this that make a mockery of our heritage and contribute to the Chillul Hashem that comes from these silly rulings...
I wonder what HKBH thinks about that!

To 5:16, its unbelievable that you still keep on belching such "shtussim" and don't have the faintest idea what a fool and 'avaryan' you are, lucky you, its 'only a 'blog', so you cant see the laughter you cause to those 'few' hitting this blog, .......

Der Burshteener has a cousin who is a fraud.

He went to a modern orthodox / secular neighborhood where everyone is super rich. He checked out demographics all over to see where he could have maximum impact sponging. He gives some shpiel about having a "kollel" so he can sponge these millionaires for money. Meanwhile the "kollel" is all of 3 people: him, his son who went to a yeshiva that had slow bochurim in it, plus his son's chavrusa who is an obese fanatic. The obese fanatic doesn't learn much with the son because he is always taking extended time outs to battel about heimisher tumults, make phone calls or write comments on blogs from his cell.

They have complete contempt for the modern & freyer dupes who give them money. They do nothing to be makarev or make people into bnei Torah because the whole tachlis by them is sponging & mooching from suckers. They constantly belittle them & comment how they are zeros behind their backs. Even to their faces it is so apparent how they hold the modern / freyer in contempt so it is a pelleh how most of them don't catch on.

To my readers
I didn't really comment too much about the letter to editor , I basically just translated it...
But what's really on my mind is the following :
Why but why does the writer belittle the guys who he calls "chassidim from the streets of Boro -Park"
Only Williamsburg is holy?
And aren't these guys coming to shul to daven?
The Rebbe from Burstein ( where the hell is Burstein anyway) is so afraid that his students are going to be contaminated by the chassidim from the "streets of Biro-Park" who are taking time to go to shule to daven?
he has no confidence in his sheep?
Someone should this guy from Burstein to start punching a clock for a living and I'll bet he won't have time for his insane nareshkeiten

Burshteen is a shtettl in Hungary.

There are some yeshivishe wannabes who originate from there who spell their last name Bursztyn, pronounced Burstin.
