Minister says protesting IDF Reservists can 'go to hell'

Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi (Likud) came out strongly against the IDF reservists who are refusing to attend training in protest of judicial reform, in a statement on Twitter Monday following public remarks on the subject from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“’And Mordecai did not kneel nor bow,’” wrote Karhi. “There are times when one must stand firm against the hegemony and the rulers... To the impudent [IDF reservist] refusers, I will tell you what Mordechai told Esther:

‘ salvation will arise for the Jews from another place, and you and your father’s house will be destroyed.’ The people of Israel will manage without you and you will go to hell.”

Something wrong with a situation where a minister whose government is kept in power by people whose voters will not serve in the army tells people who want to continue serving in the army to go to hell.

The military getting involved in politics is corrosive to democracy. These reservists belong in jail for attempting to set a dangerous precedent.

Lapid was also in power by people (arabs) "whose voters will not serve in the army! The reservists should go to hell, absolutely, you cannot have an army where the guys serving decide for themselves for political reasons to serve only when it suits them. They should be court marshalled, fired and all benefits takin away from them, even if they previously served with distinction. This is a dangerous precedent and must be dealt with harshly! Karhi better not back down and apologize!

The voters, including reservists, by & large chose this gov't.Shas has lots of reservists voting for a (partly) non serving faction.
