Rabbi Yitzchak Yehuda Yeruslavski |
Very very interesting ......
Let me let you guys into a secret..
I grew up in Crown Heights ...yes on Eastern Parkway ... and saw the Rebbe all the time ... and even saw the rebbe's mother, Chana, and saw his mother-in-law who lived on top of 770..
I remember his meetings with the then President of Israel, Zalmar Shazar, and remember when he met Menachem Begin and other Israeli leaders...I marched in the Lag Be'omer parades and a good chunk of my very own family are Chabad!..... I'm all for Chabad...
Having said this.... I believe Chabad should stay away from this entire controversy... It should not be any of their business ...
Why? But Why? ..... DIN you crazy?? Did quarantine infect your brains?..... Why?
Didn't the previous rebbe prohibit Israel to give back even an inch of land?
I don't know if my readers know this.... but Chabad's policy vis a vis the State of Israel is to the right of Satmar....
Satmar thinks they have the license to "hate Israel," little do they know that they and Chabad share a common theology..
Yup .... more extreme than Satmar in their writings (I will post about this in a later post) .. the sixth Lubavitcher Rebbe was totally against establishing a State... and even the last Rebbe never ever recognized the State of Israel!
Yes he embraced their leaders and loved them but was adamantly against a State..
Chabad philosophy is to love every Jew even Zionists but that doesn't mean they will ever embrace a State...
Yes... some serve in the army ... but those are a minority and Chabad is totally against anyone of their chassidim joining the IDF and the rebbe even wrote a letter to that effect.
Just recently this policy came into forefront when the Chabad Rabbinical Court in Israel forbade one of their Shuluchiot, Chani Lifshitz, to light the torch-lighting ceremony on Yom Hatzmaot!
She was totally humiliated and had to write an apology to the Jewish people living in Israel
Chabad will participate in all crazy ceremonies in every other country ...even in Napal ... but when it comes to a ceremony honoring a country that is open to ALL Jews, Chabad will not participate ..... because that is their mesorah, even if that mesorah was before the State became a fact ...
The last Lubavitcher Rebbe was a realist and understood that the State of Israel is a fact but couldn't bring himself to defy Chabad tradition and so he couldn't embrace the State and wouldn't allow his followers in Israel to protect the Jewish people by having them join the IDF...
Therefore, since they do not recognize the State of Israel, their opinion should carry no weight ...
I personally will not blame today's chabadnikas on their mesorah or even question it ...
however, someone who denies reality and cannot recognize it, shouldn't play a part in it's fate
and Netanyahu should take the letter from Rabbi Yitzchok Yeruslavski and burn it in next year's chumitz, maybe in a ceremony ....

A leading Chabad rabbi in Israel has called on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu not to endorse President Donald Trump’s Middle East peace plan.
Rabbi Yitzchak Yehuda Yeruslavski, the chief of Chabad’s central rabbinic court in Israel, penned a letter late last week to Netanyahu, urging the prime minister not to accept the Trump administration’s peace plan over its support for the establishment of a Palestinian state.
In his letter to Netanyahu, Rabbi Yeruslavski cited the position of the late Lubavitcher Rebbe forbidding the surrender of parts of the historic Land of Israel.
“Back in 1990, we had clear instructions from the Lubavitcher Rebbe regarding the return of territories, etc., which you of course must remember.”
“When we hear today talk of an agreement for the establishment of a Palestinian terrorist state in the territory of Judea and Samaria, we request that you do not, God forbid, make the mistake of accepting the Deal of the Century plan of President Trump, which includes in it Palestinian statehood, heaven help us.”
“This plan will only bring the opposite of security to the holy land,” continued Rabbi Yeruslavski.
Last week, a delegation of Chabad leaders visited the Jewish community in Hebron and met with local Jewish leaders, who presented them with the map of the “Deal of the Century” plan.
Following the tour, members of the delegation said they would work to lobby against the plan’s adoption by Israel.
"The Lubavitcher Rebbe warned that the very talk of retreat from the enemy endangers the nation that dwells in Zion, even before talking about the dangers that stem from the plan, and therefore Chabad will have to act to prevent danger to the lives of millions of Jews in the land of Israel,” one Chabad official told Arutz Sheva.

I hope Bibi throws the good rabbi's letter in the ASHPAH can..Did I say it right??
You don't get to give orders when you don't even believe in the State??
Oh, you do ? But , but,,, but.. you know ...We can't you know....
No, we don't know...
A new boss .! Chabad..
Derby...
I play 7-7-0 all the time, I never won once.
First consider doing this:
Dismantle 770 brick by brick, transport it to Israel and rebuild it on some prominent rechov.
They've done this before. Some Aronei Kodesh or even parts of shuls were brought in from Italy and from other countries and planted there.
Then bring the chassidim over as well. Moshiach is not riding his chamor toward Eastern Parkway any time soon.We go TO Moshiach.... He doesn't come to us.
Only schnorrers do that.
Yenk & Ukelele
Chabad...the religion closest to Judaism.
Then tell your chassidim to make Aliyah from CH to help fill all annexed territory.
Pull back your sheluchim from Mars and Kretchinev with planeloads of olim.Tell your Rabbi Teichtal in Berlin ( who got bopped on the head on a Berlin street last year ) to bring the Germans Jews home.
French Jews can't wear a kipa or Star of David necklace on the streets. Bring them home. Enough of schnorring for Pesach borscht and Shabbatons.Shaliach business was agood idea 30 years ago, but it's now 2020.
Until you do that and light torches on Yom Haatzmaut, get out of the way. And stay out..!!!
The Bimbamgonie
I am chabad and my youngest son recently came home after serving 3 years in a "Sayeret" unit as a "lone soldier."
The Rebbe was against giving away land because he felt that rather than bring peace it would encourage more terrorism. Rabbi Yuraslovski is against the Trump deal for the same reason many settler leaders are because it calls for the establishment of a Palestinian state chas V'shalom. The Rebbe was completely against establishing a Palestinian state because it would lead to more violence chas V'shalom.
@Ma Rabbi..
I visited Israel in 1968 as a young boy. The Arabs were afraid of the Israelis and decisions could have been made then that would have affected the situation differently today.
I took an Arab bus from the Damascus Gate to Shechem , the only Jew on the bus, arrived at Yoseph's kever where I saw other Jews visiting and walking around unmolested.
The Israeli government wanting to trade some land for piece didn't annex most of the territories, which was understandable.
Why?
Because Jews didn't clamor for Aliyah and didn't come to settle these territories . Only later did Jews settle in Shomron and Yehuda and build settlements, but not on a grand scale. Thanks to Trump, they can hold on to most of them.
Israelis themselves made Yeridah in the 70s by the masses.
If a million Jews had made Aliyah in the 70s , the political situation would have been different.
While I understand the Rebbe's position, I don't understand why he didn't call for Aliyah along with himself and fortify his position.
Had more Jews come , Trump's Plan might have included more territory for annexation.
Many settlers are coming out for the Trump, more than those who oppose.
But it's hypocritical for this R' Yuraslovski to give orders, prohibit carrying Yom Haatzmaut torches, when he refuses to simply recognize the reality of Israel as a State.
(I lost a friend in the Yom Kippur War whom I met in Crown Heights when he was learning at 770. He was a chabadnik from a prominent Sephardic family.)
This R'Yuraslovski opposes a Palestinian State, but doesn't recognize a Jewish one either. He doesn't want to eat baked beans and he doesn't want you and me to eat it either. The Arabs don't recognize Israel, and neither does this rabbi. He worries about a Palestinian state, but doesn't worry about publicly shaming his shlucha in Nepal.
He probably supports dishing out latkes to Swedish Jews who can't walk out as Jews on the streets publicly, doesn't encourage their Aliyah, but worries about a Palestinian state.
Something's wrong here.

The Bim-Bam-Gonie
Then you have some of these chareidi MKs hocking away.
This cat Eichler, who pops up from time to time as a jack-in-the box
who once pronounced that the Balfour Declaration and Remo Conference calling for a Jewish state meant nothing. He even said that he wasn't sure about the future of EY.. When Balfour declared his missive , some rabbonim wore their Shabbos clothing as a sign of Redemption.
Or take this Maklev , he with the big yarmulke...
In an interview with Eliot Resnick of the Jewish Press a while back, he mumbled that he doesn't see any signs of hischaltah d'geulah , being that there's a lot of secular stuff... He doesn't mention the great religious stuff happening… He's got marching orders from his ravs, who feel the same..
Worst of all, he contradicts the Chazal of Rav Abba who said that there's no surer sign of geulah then when the Land yields crops and fruits in abundance.
I don't know what's worse.... Galitzianer inedible ptcha , or these guys prattling away and throwing ice water on enthusiasm for EY...
the Derby....
