There was a girl ages ago who never got married. Both she & her mother engaged in this kind of over the top behavior. The father who was also in on it would pull back only when it started bordering on hostile but that was for himself as he couldn’t control the females. People thought it was funny but it was no fun for the victimized bochurim. The weirdest part for me was being grilled how much I learned on Motzaei Shabbos. 2.5 hours was deemed insufficient & I was chided for not including enough limud Gemara, focusing that night on just other limudim
Maybe she wants to be a partner and wants her husband to come home from kollel and talk with her about what she learned. WHy should that bookcase be closed off to women? It isn't the same as it once was, women know how to read and are intellectually curious. Maybe she was trying to signal that was her interest and not the latest fashion. Maybe she went about it in the wrong way. Maybe this match isnt right for this boy and the shadchan wanting to be a flyon the wall is making it her personal entertainment at someone else's expense.
