Sefer Torah From 2,000 Years Ago Found To Have ‘Same Exact Text As Current Sefer Torah’

st
The charred lump of a 2,000-year-old scroll sat in an Israeli archaeologist’s storeroom for decades, too brittle to open. Now, new imaging technology has revealed what was written inside: the earliest evidence of a biblical text in its standardized form.

The passages from the Book of Leviticus, scholars say, offer the first physical evidence of what has long been believed: that the version of the Hebrew Bible used today goes back 2,000 years.

The discovery, announced in a Science Advances journal article by researchers in Kentucky and Jerusalem on Wednesday, was made using “virtual unwrapping,” a 3D digital analysis of an X-ray scan. Researchers say it is the first time they have been able to read the text of an ancient scroll without having to physically open it.

“You can’t imagine the joy in the lab,” said Pnina Shor of the Israel Antiquities Authority, who participated in the study.

The digital technology, funded by Google and the U.S. National Science Foundation, is slated to be released to the public as open source software by the end of next year.

Researchers hope to use the technology to peek inside other ancient documents too fragile to unwrap, like some of the Dead Sea Scrolls and papyrus scrolls carbonized in the Mt. Vesuvius volcano eruption in 79 CE. Researchers believe the technology could also be applied to the fields of forensics, intelligence, and antiquities conservation.

The biblical scroll examined in the study was first discovered by archaeologists in 1970 at Ein Gedi, the site of an ancient Jewish community near the Dead Sea.

Inside the ancient synagogue’s ark, archaeologists found lumps of scroll fragments.

The synagogue was destroyed in an ancient fire, charring the scrolls. The dry climate of the area kept them preserved, but when archaeologists touched them, the scrolls would begin to disintegrate. So the charred logs were shelved for nearly half a century, with no one knowing what was written inside.

Last year, Yosef Porath, the archaeologist who excavated at Ein Gedi in 1970, walked into the Israel Antiquities Authority’s Dead Sea Scrolls preservation lab in Jerusalem with boxes of the charcoal chunks. The lab has been creating hi-resolution images of the Dead Sea Scrolls, the earliest copies of biblical texts ever discovered, and he asked researchers to scan the burned scrolls.

“I looked at him and said, ‘you must be joking,’” said Shor, who heads the lab.
She agreed, and a number of burned scrolls were scanned using X-ray-based micro-computed tomography, a 3D version of the CT scans hospitals use to create images of internal body parts. The images were then sent to William Brent Seales, a researcher in the computer science department of the University of Kentucky.

Only one of the scrolls could be deciphered.
Using the “virtual unwrapping” technology, he and his team painstakingly captured the three-dimensional shape of the scroll’s layers, using a digital triangulated surface mesh to make a virtual rendering of the parts they suspected contained text. They then searched for pixels that could signify ink made with a dense material like iron or lead. The researchers then used computer modeling to virtually flatten the scroll, to be able to read a few columns of text inside.

“Not only were you seeing writing, but it was readable,” said Seales. “At that point we were absolutely jubilant.”

The researchers say it is the first time a biblical scroll has been discovered in an ancient synagogue’s holy ark, where it would have been stored for prayers, and not in desert caves like the Dead Sea Scrolls.
The discovery holds great significance for scholars’ understanding of the development of the Hebrew Bible, researchers say.

In ancient times, many versions of the Hebrew Bible circulated. The Dead Sea Scrolls, dating to as early as the 3rd century B.C., featured versions of the text that are radically different than today’s Hebrew Bible.

Scholars have believed the Hebrew Bible in its standard form first came about some 2,000 years ago, but never had physical proof, until now, according to the study. Previously the oldest known fragments of the modern biblical text dated back to the 8th century.

The text discovered in the charred Ein Gedi scroll is “100 percent identical” to the version of the Book of Leviticus that has been in use for centuries, said Dead Sea Scroll scholar Emmanuel Tov from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, who participated in the study.

“This is quite amazing for us,” he said. “In 2,000 years, this text has not changed.”

Noam Mizrahi, a Dead Sea Scrolls expert at Tel Aviv University who did not participate in the study, called it a “very, very nice find.” He said the imaging technology holds great potential for more readings of unopened Dead Sea Scrolls.
“It’s not only what was found, but the promise of what else it can uncover, which is what will turn this into an exciting discovery,” Mizrahi said.

Iran showed off missiles, tanks and marching troops in a display of force following a record $38billion arms deal between the US and Israel.

The Islamic republic used the 36th anniversary of the start of the Iran-Iraq war to parade arms including 16 ballistic missiles through Tehran.
A new missile with multiple warheads, called Zolfaghar, was also on show with a threat directed at Iran's arch-rival Israel written on the side of the truck transporting it.

'If the leaders of the Zionist regime make one false move, the Islamic republic will destroy Tel Aviv and Haifa,' it said, referring to two Israeli cities.
S-300 missiles delivered by Moscow this year were also on show in the capital. Other military parades were held elsewhere in the country.
In the southern port city of Bandar Abbas 500 boats, submarines, fighter jets and helicopters gathered for a massed display of force.
In Tehran, the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri, declared Iran wanted peace.

Satmar "Ingrates" Protest Netanyahu in front of UN

The Romanian Satmar  gypsies are protesting the Head of State of the State of Israel the Honorary Bibi Netanyahu, this afternoon 4:30PM, 1st Avenue and 47th street in NYC...

They have millions of dollars for these protests (spending thousands on buses) while at the same time throwing out little girls from  from their own moisdois Ha"Torah, because the poor families cannot afford tuition for the archaic chinuch that the gypsies provide them ..

The Kol Korah is signed by the Hisachdas Ha'Ganovim ....

One "nice" day these gypsies will be running with their heads between their knees knocking down the doors of the Zionist State to escape the upcoming Arab uprising in Brooklyn .... and the surrounding areas!

When was the last time you guys took a stroll down Coney Island Avenue?

How about Patterson New Jersey, a stone's throw from Passaic and Teaneck? Patterson has the largest Palestinian population in the entire world...!

ABC Show "The View" Says that the Bombings in NYC was "NOT TERRORISM"

 Image result for the view
The moronic, disgusting hags on ABC News’ “The View,”  including Queen (or in her case, King) hag Caryn Elaine Johnson a/k/a “Whoopi Goldberg,” lectured America that this Bombing is “NOT TERRORISM!”
Yeah, it “isn’t terrorism” as much as “you’re sexy,” Whoopi.
The one dissenter was the hideous faux-conservative, faux-libertarian, FOX-News-spawned Jedediah Bila, who agreed that it is “wrong” to call it “Islamic terrorism,” but insisted it be called terrorism.
 HUH?!
What difference does it make if you’re not going to acknowledge who did it.
Then, this moron, Bila, went on to praise Goldberg for her new reality TV show about a transgender modeling agency. “Whoopi, I’m so glad you’re doing this show,” declared Bila, “because you know who needs to see this? The people in Middle America need to see this show.”
Um, here’s a tip, you arrogant, elitist dummy with a pretentious male name, Jedediah:
We in Middle America don’t need to see a transgender modeling show. We’re quite informed, and our values don’t need to be imposed upon by sheltered, self-important, faux-indignant New York idiots.
Do your transgender modeling reality show in Kabul or Riyadh or Raqqa or Tehran, and then talk to me about who needs to see it . . . if you still have a head (though it would be no loss if you lost it).
You moronic women on a dumb, vapid TV show need to see an endless loop of a more worthy reality show: people being beheaded, thrown off buildings, and burned alive in cages by Muslims.
By the way, Mark Levin–who whines endlessly about Trump not being conservative–gushes ceaselessly over this arrogant liberal, Bila (whom he’s repeatedly had on his screechy hypocritical radio show), pretending she’s some sort of conservative or libertarian.
She is neither. She is, however, brainless.
Yeah, that’s how we deal with Islamic murderers in our midst: by denying Muslims did it or that they are Muslims . . .
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it zillions more times I’m sure: these men who attacked Americans and tried to murder them are not radical Islamists or even Islamists. Nor are they radical Muslims. They are not crazy. They are not mentally ill. They are just Muslims following basic, mainstream Islamic law.
They are not extremists. They are just Muslims–adherents of a “religion” which is inherently and by definition extreme. The more of them we bring in and the more who are born to those we’ve already brought in, the more of this we’ll get.
“Vetting” would not have kept Rahami out of this country. Ditto for Adan. Only a strict policy of refusing entry to Muslims would have. And we don’t have the guts or the will to do it. Not even Donald Trump, despite this being one of 26 of his ever-changing positions on immigration in the last 13 months.
This is the “new normal,” because we ridiculed and ridicule people who think like me. And because we have idiotic hags like the “women” of “The View” and Barack Obama looked upon as actually saying something of worth and authority.
It’s Islam, Stupid.
Remember the latest meat-cleaver-wielder who attacked police last week and was caught?
That story has already disappeared into the ether, even though he, too, is a Muslim–a Palestinian Muslim named Akram Joudeh.
You have to ask why this guy–who was arrested at least 15 times and was caught with knives outside a New York synagogue he was planning to attack–was on the streets to perpetrate an attack on police. And, why, yet again, nobody points out that he’s a Muslim in our midst attacking innocents.
But we know why. It’s a whole lot of politically correct BS, where you can’t call a spade a spade or a terrorist a Muslim.

Berkeley: College course on 'How to destroy Israel'

UC Berkeley campus
Folks .... it's all over for Jews in Chutz le'aaretz ... yup all over!
Open you eyes, guys.....

The University of California (UC)- Berkeley has reinstated an explicitly anti-Israel course which discusses, among other anti-Israel issues, how "Palestine" would look without Israel, and examines "possibilities" to this end.

The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) has condemned the course, stating - in perhaps the understatement of the year - that a course would not be given "that advocated the dismantlement of any other country."

The course, entitled: ‘Palestine: A Settler Colonial Analysis,’ examines the history of the region from the 1880s “through the lens of settler colonialism.”

The ZOA notes that this presumes fallaciously that Zionism is a colonial movement, rather than a national liberation movement. The course aims to “explore the connection between Zionism and settler colonialism," and also examines “the possibilities of a decolonized Palestine,” i.e., one in which Jewish self-determination and statehood is non-existent.

The course readings consist heavily of anti-Zionist passages from ‘new historians’ such as Ilan Pappé, Arab activists such as Edward Said, and others. It uses materials from organizations that seek to defame Israel such as Breaking the Silence. It even includes a reading from the Goldstone Report, whose anti-Israel findings were eventually rejected by its chairman, Judge Goldstone himself.

The course reading materials include nothing from scholars who do not condemn Zionism.

The course is sponsored, the ZOA states, by UC’s Hatem Bazian, co-founder of the radical anti-Israel movement, Students for Justice in Palestine.

Nachum Siegal will leave JM IN THE AM after 33 years!

In a dramatic and exciting on air presentation, Nachum Segal announced this morning that after 33 years of hosting Jewish Moments in the Morning (‘JM in the AM’) on WFMU radio, he will broadcast the program exclusively on NSN. The move is expected to occur on December 1, 2016.
Nachum, the ‘JM in the AM’ and NSN teams and WFMU management have emphasized that this agreement is completely amicable and that the radio station will assist in this noteworthy transition as much as possible.
“Over the next two months,” said Nachum Segal, “we will emphasize to our listeners in the New York and New Jersey area what our global listeners already know: how easy it is to listen to a clear and static free broadcast.”
Segal explained that between the NSN app on smartphones and iPads, web-radios, computer desktops, the listener call in-line and many other options, ‘JM in the AM’ will continue to flourish as the radio program of record of the Jewish world. “The move exclusively to NSN,” he continued, “will give us the opportunity to provide a longer, stronger, more exciting program with greater global reach, every morning and 24 hours a day.”
WFMU, licensed as a non-profit radio station, adheres to the guidelines of charitable and non-commercial radio. With the move of ‘JM in the AM’ exclusively to NSN, the program, its host, its content and its reach will be allowed greater creative flexibility and sponsorship opportunities.
First arriving at WFMU in 1983 as a junior from Yeshiva College, Segal has built an incredible daily broadcast legacy which includes music, community information and in-depth interviews. Known as the voice of the Jewish people, his on-air presence and participation in major community events lends professionalism and importance to community functions.
Ken Freedman, General Manager at WFMU since 1983, added that, “Nachum has been a priceless asset to WFMU. He has grown his brand and network to an incredible degree. We will do everything we can in the next couple of months to help facilitate his growth and success.”
WFMU has indicated that they will not be featuring Jewish programming in the morning time slot.
NSN can be heard 24 hours a day at Nachumsegal.com, on the NSN app for android and iPhone and on the call in listen line.

70% of European Jews say they will not attend synagogue for upcoming holidays this year amid growing harassment by Muslims.

It's all over folks! The Ribbono Shel Olem is giving us open signs to make Aliyah .......and this will come to the USA very very soon .......
Building beautiful shuls in Monroe, Williamsburg, Boro Park, Monsey, Lakewood, Passaic and the Five Towns will all be in vain and will be made into Mosques soon ....
Time to pack up!

A survey by the European Jewish Association suggests few Jews in Europe will attend synagogue for this year’s Rosh Hashanna and Yom Kippur holidays as security fears grow and with harassment by Muslims on the rise.

According to the study, which spanned 700 Jewish communities from England to the Ukraine, 70% of European Jews said they would not be attending synagogue during the holiday season.

The study also showed that membership in Jewish organizations and local communities had dropped significantly, with 50% of Jewish communities registering a decline in the number of active members, compared with only 11% who showed an increase.

EJA General Director Rabbi Menachem Margolin noted that three-quarters of Jewish communities in Europe had reported increased security presence by local and national authorities due to elevated terror threat levels over the past year.
The overwhelming majority of community leaders, Rabbi Margolin added, said that other security precautions, including increased private security, had been undertaken over the past year.

“The challenge faced by most Jewish communities has been doubled in recent months,” said Rabbi Margolin. “On the one hand, the surge in harassment of Jewish individuals, institutions, and communities by, among others, Muslim refugees and migrants – and on the other, as a result of the refugee crisis there has been a substantial increase in activity among far-right extremist groups across the continent.”

The primary focus of the far-right lately has been on Islamic immigration, Rabbi Margolin said, but “based upon testimony by rabbis and community leaders, we have a worrisome picture signaling a significant increase in the level of nationalism and xenophobia, targeting European Jews as well.”

Chareidim terrorize IDF Soldier in SHUL!

Image result for chareidie attacks on idf
There is a movement in the frum world to have people "stop talking in shul" .....
Every moontig n' dunershig" (monday & thursday) a Rabbi with a big beard talks on a podcast,on the internet, basically saying that all the ills of the world that have befallen the Jewish people is because of people "talking in shul!"
I'm positive that "not talking in shul" is a very good thing and would open all doors to heaven ....no doubt about that ...

But what I cannot comprehend is  a guy sitting in shul, davening and not talking .... and observes an IDF soldier davening in the same shul getting attacked and he keeps his mouth shut!

Instead of getting up and being moiche that another Jewish child is being attacked, and not just "stam" a Jew, but a Jew who puts his life on the line every single day to help other Jews...he sits there and continues with his "ashrei"..... that "non talking guy in shul" Jew is a Rasha Me'Rusha!
More wicked than his buddies that attacked the soldier ...

The story below was broadcast all over Israel, and yet, not one Rabbi or Gadol said a word in this special month of Ellul, a month of Teshuvah ....
Yom Kippur will not erase the aveirah of  that "non talking shul" Jew that witnessed an atrocity committed against his brother the soldier ....
I'm not talking about the miserable savages that attacked the innocent soldier that came to daven .... for them there isn't a hell hot enough ...
If I hear another podcast about "not talking in shul" I'm going to scream!
I'm going to leave the "Rabbi Havlin" story for another post another day!

Anti-Zionist radicals harassed a haredi soldier on Sunday when he came to pray in a Jerusalem synagogue.
The soldier, who showed up at the ‘shteiblach’ [small synagogues with multiple prayer groups around the clock] in the Zichron Moshe neighborhood in the capital, was targeted by a group of locals who shouted at him, calling him a “hardak” – a portmanteau of haredi and haydak (bacteria) – and demanding he leave the area.
After enduring the verbal abuse, the soldier gave up and left the building.
Harassment of haredi draft opponents, which surged following the passage of the controversial Draft Law in 2013, has not been limited to religious soldiers. Even senior haredi officials who have compromised over the issue have found themselves targeted by fringe elements.

After anti-Zionist vandals broke into his home, Kiryat Gat Chief Rabbi Moshe Havlin has become the target of angry protests by draft opponents.
Rabbi Havlin, a member of the Chabad Hassidic movement, was a signatory on an agreement with the IDF which provided that 85% of Chabad yeshiva students will receive a two-year deferral for study, before being inducted, while 15% will be permanently exempted from military service.

Bomber used "Kosher Phones" to trigger the bombs

Ahmad Khan Rahami is taken into custody after a shootout with police Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, in Linden, N.J. Rahami was wanted for questioning in the bombings that rocked the Chelsea neighborhood of New York and the New Jersey shore town of Seaside Park. (Moshe Weiss via AP)
So it wasn't a smartphone ... the Arab savage used a simple "holy" "Kosher Phone" to try to kill as many people as he could ....

A federal law enforcement official says three bombs found in New York and New Jersey over the weekend had one component in common: a flip-style cellphone.
The official says a pipe bomb that exploded in Seaside Park, New Jersey, was constructed with a threaded pipe and black powder.
The official says two devices found in New York City included pressure cookers, similar to the devices used in the 2013 attack the Boston Marathon that killed three and wounded hundreds of people. The device that exploded contained residue from the commercially available explosive compound Tannerite.
One of those bombs went off, injuring 29 people. The other didn’t explode.
The official was not authorized to publicly discuss the case and spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss details of the ongoing investigation.
Investigators say they’ve found no evidence so far that the suspect in the attacks was part of a broader terrorist cell.
New York City’s mayor and police commissioner also say no other suspects are being sought at this time.
Ahmad Khan Rahami was shot Monday in an exchange of gunfire with police in Linden, New Jersey.
