U.S. National Security Council Spokesman John Kirby on Monday extended Washington’s “deepest condolences” to the family of a PA Arab-American who was reportedly killed after stoning Israeli vehicles.

“Certainly a tragic killing by all accounts that we’ve been able to glean so far,” Kirby said of the Jan. 19 death of Tawfic Abdel Jabbar, a resident of Al-Mazra’a Ash-Sharqiya near Ramallah.

“Our deepest condolences go to the family. He was 17 years old, just a teenager, so our thoughts and prayers are certainly with the family,” Kirby continued, demanding a “full, thorough, transparent investigation.

The Biden administration has “every expectation that those responsible for it will be held properly accountable,” Kirby added.

On Saturday, the U.S. Office of Palestinian Affairs, whose offices are located at the American Embassy to Israel in Jerusalem but which is a separate institution, said it was “devastated” to hear about Jabbar’s death. Its head, George Noll, visited the family to offer his condolences.

“We call for an urgent investigation to determine the circumstances of his death,” tweeted the U.S. Palestinian Affairs office on Jan. 20.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Israel Police acknowledged reports of the “discharge of a firearm believed to involve a law enforcement officer, a soldier and an off-duty civilian.”

CNN Ratings Plunge Drastically even behind the History Channel!

Ratings-challenged CNN’s total viewership in prime time last week lagged behind the History Channel and an obscure cable network — founded by televangelists Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker — that plays Western TV shows and films, according to the latest figures released by Nielsen.

The “most trusted name in news” — which recently hired former New York Times and BBC boss Mark Thompson as its CEO — had an average of 538,000 nightly viewers in the 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. block during the seven-day period from Jan. 15 until Jan. 21, according to the most recent data compiled by Nielsen.

The weak ratings were generated despite coverage of the Iowa caucus, which saw former President Donald Trump easily rout GOP contenders in his bid to regain the White House.

CNN not only finished behind rivals Fox and MSNBC, but was the 10th most-watched channel on cable, getting beat by Hallmark, The History Channel and INSP, a South Carolina-based channel founded in the late 1970s by the Christian televangelists.

According to its web site, INSP, which has transitioned from a “non-profit ministry-focused network” to an advertiser-supported channel that plays mostly Western movies and television shows, is distributed to more than 80 million households across 2,800 cable systems as well as the DISH Network.

Nielsen figures show that INSP, formerly the Inspiration Network, generated an audience of 577,000 viewers during the week of Jan. 15 – Jan. 21 — good for eighth overall.

Fox News, whose parent company Fox Corp. is the corporate sister of The Post’s owner News Corp., topped all networks with an audience of 2.091 million in prime time, according to Nielsen.

ESPN, the Disney-owned all-sports outfit, came in second place with 1.653 million viewers in prime time during the same period — helped by last week’s NFL playoff game between the Bucs and Eagles in prime time.

MSNBC, the left-leaning cable news channel owned by Comcast, was in third with 1 million prime time viewers for the week.

Sinwar couldn’t begin to understand why I would do that, and that’s why he massively miscalculated his attack on Israel.

Sinwar made one correct judgment of Israelis:

We want to live safely and peacefully and create a good life for our children.

We assumed our neighbors wished the same.

In that, we were wrong, and he was right.

He leveraged that understanding to lull us into complacency and then he struck.

The attack on October 7 was a success, but his monumentally poor judgment about what would happen the day after that will go down in history.

In the same way that Israel had false conceptions on Oct 6, Sinwar and his fellow Axis of Resistance members suffer from false conceptions of Israel that will ultimately lead to their own destruction.

Namely:

1) The state of Israel is fragile and Israeli society is divided. A bit of pressure and the entire Zionist enterprise will collapse

2) Israeli soldiers are cowards, and Israelis aren’t ready to die for their country

3) Israeli society loves life too much and isn’t ready to make major sacrifices

4) Jews aren’t rooted in the land of Israel and will flee as colonizers would

5) Israel’s humanity and morality are its weaknesses and will prevent it from responding as needed to destroy Hamas

6) Israel will ultimately succumb to International pressure and halt the war prematurely

Everything that’s happened in the past 100+ days has proven Sinwar wrong.

Instead of fleeing, tens of thousands of Israelis rushed back home from around the globe to join their reserve units.

Every single soldier and reservist fighting Hamas or Hezbollah is there because they want to be there.

If they didn’t, they would be home.

That is a fact.

We fight because we have no other land.

We’ve dreamt for too long and given too much to build the beautiful country we have now.

We’re not putting our fate back into the hands of others.

Never again.

Our soldiers don’t celebrate death, but they are ready to sacrifice everything for this country, which we love and are so deeply rooted in.

You can see that in every interview given by soldiers entering or leaving the battlefield, and you can read it in the last wills left by soldiers who fell in battle.

Nearly 200 of our soldiers have been killed in the counter-attack of Gaza. Thousands more have been injured. Every single death is a stab in the heart of the entire country. But don’t mistake our humanity and empathy for weakness.

Don’t confuse our love of life with a lack of willingness to sacrifice it all for our fellow citizens and country.

That’s why I jumped at the opportunity to join the IDF. And that’s why my wife supported me.

I will now be a reserves soldier in a non-combat unit, but at my swearing-in ceremony when I held a gun in my right hand, a bible in my left and vowed to “obey all orders…  and even sacrifice my life, for the protection of the homeland and the liberty of Israel” I meant it with every fiber of my being.

Jews and Arabs must separate permanently

The October 7 pogrom serves as the most stark example of how different the Jewish and Arab peoples are, and why we Jews must seek to permanently separate from the Arabs.

Both Arabs and Jews must be allowed to fulfill their own destinies, but without the burden of living together. For Jews and Arabs are today, as we have always been, two people with wildly opposing views about morality, humanity, and what the purpose of life is.

The Jews successfully coexist in Israel with various Christians, Armenians, Druze, and other non-Jews. So why is it not possible to live with the Arabs?

Simply put, we can no longer live with the Arabs because the Arab world overwhelmingly supports and celebrates the unspeakable atrocities committed in the name of Islam on October 7.

Further, we do not have evidence that the Arab world is prepared to live side by side with anyone who is not a member of their religion. And critically, it is not possible to live with the Arab people, who deny the Jewish right to our land, our right to our religion, and even our right to exist.

How do I know that the Jews must permanently separate from the Arabs? Because the Arabs have chosen to use the October 7 pogrom to define who they are, what they value, and to remind the Jews what we should expect in the future if we continue to live with them.

And why do I speak with such certainty that the Jews must separate themselves from the Arabs?

 Almost 80 years after the Holocaust, about 245,000 Jewish survivors are still living across more than 90 countries, a new report revealed Tuesday.

Nearly half of them, or 49%, are living in Israel; 18% are in Western Europe, 16% in the United States, and 12% in countries of the former Soviet Union, according to a study by the New York-based Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany, also referred to as the Claims Conference.

Before the publication of the demographic report, there were only vague estimates about how many Holocaust survivors are still alive.

Their numbers are quickly dwindling, as most are very old and often of frail health, with a median age of 86. Twenty percent of survivors are older than 90, and more women (61%) than men (39%) are still alive.

The vast majority, or 96% of survivors, are “child survivors” who were born after 1928, says the report “Holocaust Survivors Worldwide. A Demographic Overview’” which is based on figures that were collected up until August.

 Two renowned orthodox Jewish influencers with massive social media followings, were targeted by an antisemitic online troll who did something truly disgraceful.

Hillel Fuld, a global speaker, successful entrepreneur and online activist, and Chaya Raichik, aka LibsofTiktok, met in Israel this week. They posted a picture of themselves on X with a beautiful view in the background. Yet a vicious antisemite reposted the exact photo of the pair smiling, showing the destruction in Gaza in the background.

In deadliest incident of Gaza combat, 21 soldiers killed as buildings collapse in blast

 

Twenty-one Israeli soldiers were killed Monday when they came under attack in the southern Gaza Strip, triggering a blast that collapsed two buildings with soldiers inside them, the military said Tuesday morning.

The buildings were being rigged for demolition by troops when Palestinian gunmen fired an RPG at a tank securing the forces. A second blast then occurred in the buildings, possibly as a result of a second RPG, leading to their collapse.

It was the single deadliest incident since the start of Israel’s ground offensive in the enclave, and raised the military death toll in the operation to 219.
