A fundraiser has been started on behalf of Zev Burger, a Passaic man accused of raping one child and sexually abusing two others who is currently being held without bail pending trial. On the fundraising page it says that the fundraiser was organized and approved by Rabbi Moshe Langer of K’hal Zichron Yaakov in Spring Valley, and Rabbi Yisroel Neiman of K’hal Shaarei Halacha in Chestnut Ridge. Shaarei Halacha is acting as a pass through for these funds so donors can receive tax deductions for donating to this alleged abuser.
This is just one of many fundraisers on behalf of alleged abusers while survivors suffer from a complete lack of sympathy or resources from the same community.
I spoke to an anti-molester askan who tells me this case is different, there is a lot more here than meets the eye. All the kids who are in question are the children of Burger & his ex-wife who are going through a nasty divorce and rabbonim are supporting him because the ex-wife put the kids up to her twisted script. And another askan tells me he didn’t find out all the details yet of what happened now, but that the ex-wife has a history of doing treacherous things to people through her work which is another form of child abuse, that she is an echteh rashanta. He has limited internet access so he may come over here to explain what she's guilty of.
The accused has a history of pornography addiction that the local rabbis were aware of and counseled him for. The rabbis have been aware of his problematic sexual activities for years. Before you defend him, ask if you would want him to sit at your Shabbos table with your two year old daughter on his lap.
Anybody who knows Zev's ex-wife knows that she has a long history of struggling with mental illness and instability.The rabbis are completely aware of her shenanagins and the chaos she has brought to her home. Zev did not even own a smartphone until about a year ago when his divorce started getting nastier because of her instability. How convenient that these allegations comes out months after he tells her he wants out of the marriage! Think about that!

There are lots of Heimishe baalei tayva who naughtily view porn. But it doesn’t mean they stoop to raping their own kids. I don’t know if DIN is buying into the porno narrative in this case which is similar to Yisroel Meir Kin saying Lonna’s daughters have a porno problem
