Time Magazines "Person of the Year" has a history of giving that honor to Anti-semites & Murderers!

In 1938: Adolf Hitler

In 1939 and then again in 1942: Joseph Stalin

In 1979 Ayatollah Khomeini
And now in 2011 they put the face of an Arab Lady to represent
THE PROTESTER
Time lauded the generic "protester" as its fabulous person, presumably including the misogynistic Jew-haters who sexually attacked Lara Logan in Cairo's Tahrir Square. And the Occupy Wall Street miscreants who cost taxpayers millions of dollars, as some engaged in alleged rape, robbery and drug use. Way to go, Time!

It's not necessarily meant to be an honor.

It's meant to signify the person/people who "for better or for worse, ...has done the most to influence the events of the year."

Sometimes, that can be an evil person like Hitler.

Time is just trying to sell magazines. an argument could be made that protesters had huge impact on the news if not on reality (though Tunisia is probably the only success story and Libya only by arms; the other Mideast and European countries are still in shambles and Occupy was a punchline).
