DIN, the halacha is that you can sit on a very low chair. There is nothing to this post. You're just looking for new stories....

What a joke

That is only one opinion. The opinion that I know of -- and follow (IY"H, I plan to try to get you the exact source sometime soon) is that you are allowed to sit on a cushion or a very low chair.

Sitting on a chair Tisha B"av is the least of his sins for this Jew hating and Israel hating criminally insane gangster,This piece of filth has an organization called "NUTRINA" which spends hundreds of thousands of dollars a year on Radio and print media ads disseminating vicious anti Israel propaganda in which they claim that Jews have no right to any part of Eretz Yisroel (before the arrival of the Messiah) and it realy belongs to the Palestinians.
Four years ago when three Jewish teenagers were brutally slaughtered by the Hammas animals, this filthy kapo bastard blamed their parents for having the audacity to live in their God given homeland.
Therefore sitting on a chair Tisha"Bav is the least of his problems,

People, people please. I feel like I am visiting my kids pre-school reading all this petty bickering. Life is good and there is a lot to be happy about. I am no fan of Satmar, but stop trying to pry open a negative view about things that happen. Put on a smile and look for the good in life. You will be a happier person and so will the people around you!

The problem is not "low chair" or "floor". The problem is that the chair he is sitting on is a bit too fancy - it's an admorish chair.

12:43 AM, some of the most Emesdikke words I have ever seen on this blog. Baruch Hashem! Thank you.

3:29, yes, it is a bit fancy.

Oh, and DIN, as I had said, I wanted to give you the source. Mishnah Berurah 559:11 rules that one may sit a cushion on Tisha B'Av, or, if it is difficult to sit on the floor, one may sit on a low chair. With the Rebbe shlita's age, it could be hard for him to sit on the floor...

Life is good. And I especially enjoy the laughter inspired by how incredibly stupid this rabbi looks.

As someone noted above, the chair is not a cheap mourners chair. These cult leaders sure love their luxuries. He even has a little shtender to match.

Yes, AishKodesh, I should reflect on that.
I could be completely wrong about these perceived spiritual giants.

... But I'm not:

Teiteldee and Teiteldum are just another couple of self-serving, Israel hating, cult leaders.

Celebrity cult:

It's the unfortunate truth, Aish. These cult leaders sure love their luxuries.
Like custom made chairs with shtender, or exclusive 1st class plane cabins.

How can you not admit this rabbi's behavior is disgusting?

And, yes, it's also true that Teiteldum looks hilariously stupid in his little chair.

Chafraud, I don't know about you, but I usually try to Don people le'kof zechus. Not only Gedolim... Perhaps he is just given certain things, and doesn't ask for them. Perfect example: Did the Lubavitcher Rebbe zt"l ask to be called 'king Mashiach'?

P.S. I would be careful to quote ANYTHING from "failedmessiah"...

AishKodesh,

"Perhaps he is just given certain things, and doesn't ask for them."

And would he be powerless to refuse? Even the Pope is more humble than this clown.
Teiteldum could very well refuse luxury spending and direct it to those who are in need. He simply doesn't.

"Did the Lubavitcher Rebbe zt"l ask to be called 'king Mashiach'? "

He allowed it, and in time approved of it. And toward the end of his life he was so disabled that he was physically unable to address it at all. He was a puppet at that point, brought out for a show on the balcony, a mere shell of his former self. He should have set his wacky cult followers straight from the beginning, in his healthy years. He chose not to.
And now he's just another deceased, false Jewish messiah. A "kosher Jesus" of Chabad-Lubavitch with adherents still awaiting his 'second coming.'

I wasn't raised Orthodox, but even in a non-observant household, we knew dead messiahs were not a Jewish concept.
Freakshow that they are, Lubavitch is not as much of a religious sect as it is a corporation now. It's a cult business, like the Church of Scientology.

Aish, I understand your willingness to judge favorably. It's admirable when applied correctly. But sometimes it's an exercise in willful blindness. You have to draw the line somewhere or risk living a lie. These luxury loving rabbis are not any closer to God than the simplest of laymen. They offer no wisdom that can't be obtained elsewhere in Judaism, or even through other cultures. Yet Jews have turned them into god-men with privileged luxury.

This is why I only give to those in need or responsible rabbis with PROVEN charitable track records. I NEVER give to "charitable organizations" because they are too often run by self-serving frauds like Chabad.

I know Jews who struggle to get a Shabbos meal on the table, or to pay tuition, or furnish their homes with junk found in alleys. Let this piece of garbage "Rebbe" sit on something found in an alley instead of parking his pampered ass in luxury custom made furniture and exclusive first class plane cabins.

Chafraud; I like you, and you're certainly a good guy -- but still way too cynical... If you'll pardon me, I honestly think it is better to maintain some sense of naivety, which I in a way do.

Gut Shabbos, Achi!
