The Tzaddik Harav Moshe Yazdi convicted of Sexually assaulting Two Woman the Indictment said Eight, but he got away because of the Statue of Limitations

 

‎Yesterday the court convicted Rabbi Moshe Yazdi of sexual offenses, and I want you to pay attention to one sentence that may be hidden in the background, a sentence that we are already unfortunately used to, which reads as if it were a report on the weather!

, and I hope that one day our granddaughters will come and ask us, 

"Grandma, tell me, was there really a thing in your time where a convicted sex offender escaped punishment at the time of the conviction itself?" 

 And we nod and say, 

"Yes, my granddaughter, when I was your age, the legislation in the State of Israel on the subject of sexual offenses was like what you find today only in the Third World,"

 and here is his sentence:‎

‎"The indictment included eight women, but the sex offender was convicted of harming only two, and some of his offenses were erased due to the statute of limitations."‎

אתמול הרשיע בית המשפט את הרב משה יזדי בעבירות מין, ואני רוצה שנשים לב למשפט אחד שעשוי להיבלע לנו ברקע, משפט שאנחנו כבר רגילים לקרוא כמוהו ושכמותו וקוראים אותו כאילו מדובר בדיווח על מזג האוויר,

 ואני מקווה שיום אחד הנכדות שלנו יבואו וישאלו אותנו,

 "סבתא, תגידי, באמת בתקופתך היה קטע כזה שעבריין מין מורשע, חומק מעונש במעמד ההרשעה עצמו?", ואנחנו נהנהן ונגיד

 "כן נכדתי, כשאני הייתי בגילך החקיקה במדינת ישראל בנושא עבירות מין הייתה כמו שאת מוצאת כיום רק בעולם השלישי"

, והנה המשפט:

"כתב האישום כלל שמונה נשים, אך עבריין המין הורשע בגין פגיעה בשתיים בלבד, כשחלק מעבירותיו נמחקו בשל התיישנות"
