Scathing Attack on HuffPost for ‘Anti-Semitic Incitement’ Aimed at Helping Obama ‘Sell Iran Deal’

The Huffington Post engaged in a “jihad of lies” against critics of the Iran deal, with special emphasis on Jews and Israel, a new report claims.

“The Rhodes To HuffPost,” whose release on Sunday came three days after the one-year anniversary of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), details a series of egregious violations of journalistic ethics on the part of the major media online outlet. In particular, it asserts, theHuffPost engaged in a concerted campaign to help US President Barack Obama get elected, and subsequently to assist him to push through the JCPOA by purposely deceiving the public about its true nature.

To this end, according to the report – compiled by Jon Sutz of the New York-based websiteSavetheWest.com – the HuffPost,

 PUBLISHED EDITORIALS AND “NEWS” STORIES THAT CONTINUED ITS LONG-STANDING PATTERN OF INCITING HATE AGAINST ISRAEL AND JEWS, USING CLASSIC ANTI-SEMITIC LIBELS AND STEREOTYPES, WHILE WHITEWASHING AND EVEN LEGITIMIZING ISLAMIST TERRORISTS, WHO’VE SWORN TO WIPE ISRAEL OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH. EXAMPLES INCLUDE:

1. FALSELY CLAIMING THAT NETANYAHU BLINDSIDED OBAMA IN HIS SPEECH TO CONGRESS: IN THE LEAD-UP TO MR. The report — whose title is a reference to the scandal surrounding Obama’s JCPOA adviser Ben Rhodes’ admission of deceit in relation to the deal — says that the HuffPost boasts 130 million readers per month, calling itself the “largest news site in the US.” In addition, according to one internet traffic analysis source, the outlet is now the most popular political website in the world.

The report quotes the HuffPost’s claim that it “has in place rigorous editorial policies and standards…to ensure that we maintain the highest level of journalistic integrity…Too many reporters have forgotten that the highest calling of journalists is to ferret out the truth, consequences be damned…There is an objective reality, and it is the media’s job to present it unequivocally.”

The stated purpose of the report is to provide the facts to Americans who are unfamiliar with the ins and outs of the Iran deal, and the way it was portrayed in the media. “Without this knowledge,” it says,”one cannot truly grasp the magnitude or implications of what HuffPost did, and failed to do.”

Crane Crashes On To Tappan Zee Bridge All Lanes Closed Indefinitely

DEVELOPING: At least two people were hurt Tuesday after a construction crane collapsed onto the Tappan Zee Bridge north of New York City, local media reported.

Paramedics rushed two people from the scene on stretchers, Fox 5 reported. Crews closed all lanes on the bridge and traffic reportedly backed up for miles.

Helicopter video showed the collapsed crane stretching across all six lanes of the bridge, which spans Rockland and Westchester counties.

Workers had been building a new bridge to replace the older span over the Hudson River. Emergency crews rushed to the scene.

The crane collapsed around noon Tuesday, the Rockland County executive's office reported.

In March, a 90-foot tugboat sank after it hit a construction barge near the bridge site, killing three crew members.

In Iraq, the US military provided stability after a long war to secure a secular-leaning government.  Obama pulled up stakes. He pulls out, left Iraq vulnerable to Islamists within and vulnerable to Iran next door -- and hello, ISIS. 

 In Turkey, the military attempted an Egypt-like coup.   This prime minister, Erdogan, is trying to take Turkey into unfettered Sharia land.  He is trying to make it Islamic  nation,  and let's talk about Erdogan...

There are some people who think he may have orchestrated that coup in order to be able to get rid of every one of his military and police and diplomatic opponents, 'cause he's purged something like 15 or 20,000 people after this coup.
  It didn't ever have a chance and now people thinking maybe Erdogan actually sponsored this whole thing to make it look like he had tamped down a serious opposition effort.  But now he's got smooth sailing towards taking Turkey into primo Islamist supremacism and away from the secular identity that it has always had.  

Who did Obama back?  Erdogan.   

Here at home, Obama always sides with the most radical leftists.  Black Lives Matter over the cops.  Occupy Wall Street over the Tea Party.  Illegal immigrants over citizens.  Refugees over citizens.  Planned Parenthood's baby butchers over the rule of law.  Bureaucrats over doctors.  Teachers unions over students.  We're dealing here with a guy who is a radical leftist, divisive by choice.  It's how he advances his vision of transformation.

And yet he's sitting there at 56% approval in the polls.  

The  Media was able to take George Bush down to the low thirties with four to five years of daily pummeling on every aspect of his presidency. Leading with Iraq, followed by torture, followed by Abu Ghraib, followed by Afghanistan, followed by the War on Terror, followed by the economic collapse. Virtually everything that was going on wrong was pointed and laid right at the feet of George W. Bush. 

But  Obama is perceived to have no responsibility for anything.  He's perceived to have no cause effect on anything that's happening.  It's thought by a majority of Americans that all of the stuff going wrong is Bush and that poor old Obama has been doing everything he can! He's swimming upstream, swimming against the tide, doing everything he can to fix these horrible problems for social justice and whatever.

But there are these rascally Republicans in opposition and the conservative media and the Tea Party and the Trumpists and everybody trying to stop our first African-American president from his appointment with destiny, when in fact he is the architect of this decline.  

And yet nothing attaches to him! No accountability whatsoever.  The media hasn't hit him on anything like they did Bush, and it wasn't expected that they would. 

 I'm just illustrating how this is done. It took 'em five years to take Bush down to the thirties. 

With all of this... , it's stunning.  Every terror attack that you can remember here and abroad -- the plummeting US economy, 94 million Americans not working, LGBT bathrooms, gay marriage, you name it -- 56% approval. 

 Now, what does that tell you?  What does it tell you about the people of this country and what they know?

What does it tell you about the people of this country and what they think?  

What does it tell you about where we're headed as a country? 

I mean, if all of this can generate a 50% and more? If all of this can generate a 56% approval rating, I shudder to think what real progress would result, what kind of approval rating would result from real progress.

Far right politician Marine Le Pen has caused outrage across France by calling for the banning of the Jewish skullcap in public.

The leader of National Front won a fifth of the popular vote during the first round of May’s presidential election on a largely anti-Muslim immigration agenda.

Now in an interview she has called not just for a ban on the wearing of Islamic veils in public, but also the kippah – leading to France’s most senior Rabbi to describe her view as ‘deeply deplorable’.

Her inflammatory words come at a time of heightened tensions caused by a Paris satirical magazine’s decision to publish a series of cartoons mocking both Islam and Judaism.

One of the images in Charlie Hebdo shows a Prophet Mohammed character being pushed around in a wheelchair by a Rabbi.

Ms Le Pen told Le Monde that all religious headwear should be banned ‘in shops, on public transport and on the streets’.

‘It’s obvious that if the veil is banned, the kippah should be banned in public as well,’ she said. The French parliament passed a ban on full-face coverings, including the Islamic veil in 2010 and the law came into force last year. 

Miss Le Pen, whose infamous father Jean-Marie Le Pen is a convicted racist and anti-Semite, also called for a ban on public prayers.

And she said kosher and halal foods should be outlawed in schools, along with foreign governments being allowed to pay for mosques.

Hundreds attend funeral of Shlomo Rindenow, IDF soldier killed in an accident yesterday; family reflects on his courage, infectious joy.

Hundreds of people gathered at the Netzer Hazani synagogue Monday afternoon for the funeral of 20-year-old IDF Sergeant Shlomo Rindenow, a lone soldier from the US who died in a hand grenade explosion Sunday.

Rindenow was killed along with First Sergeant Hussam Tapesh, who was buried earlier Sunday in his hometown of Beit Jan in northern Israel.

The incident, which occurred as the soldiers were patrolling the northern border with Syria, is still under investigation.

Earlier Monday, Rindenow's family called on the Israeli public to attend his funeral, having vowed he would be buried in the country he served.

"For most of the course of his (army) service my brother was alone," his brother Jeff said. "He volunteered to the army because he wanted to be a warrior. We are requesting that at least for his final departure he won't be alone."

Many responded to the call, flocking from around the country to escort the fallen soldier to his final resting place at the nearby Netzer Hazani-Yesodot cemetery.

The Rabbi of Netzer Hazani eulogized first:

"If you could say a few words to us, I think it would be to quote the verse "You shall choose life". We Israelis had the advantage of being born here, but you had the merit of both being born here and making Aliyah. This reflected the love you had for Israel, which compelled you to leave the US to volunteer to defend the land of Israel."

Sister Yocheved: "You were wise like your namesake, King Shlomo, wise beyond your years. More mature than all of us. You loved us all so much, and I'm so sorry for what happened to you. When Shlomo joined the army, we weren't even as worried as you would think. He was so responsible that we just assumed he'd be safe whatever he did.

"You taught us how to live with a pure and open heart. We love you so so much. Thank you for being my brother."

Brother Baruch: "I wish I had the proper words to honor you. People always said how much you were like me. But I don't know what they're talking about, the brother I knew was so awesome that I could never hope to match him.

"Shlomo would get into his head that he wanted to do things and then he'd just do them. He decided to come to Israel, learn Hebrew within a few months, and get into the unit in the army he wanted. And he did it. I admired him so much, and I don't think I even told him that. I told other people, I bragged about my brother, but I'm not sure if I told him."

Sister Beyla: "You were the young one in the family, the baby. But you never wanted to accept that. You were so mature and wanted to do everything the older siblings were doing. We might have given you a hard time sometimes, but we loved you so so much, because you were our baby. And I miss you so so much, my baby."

Brother Jeff: "Today is a day of tragedy for the family, for the army, and for the Jewish nation everywhere. Shlomo joined the army to follow in the footsteps of four brothers and two sisters who did national service. Shlomo, you always smiled, you always were there to help whoever needed it. You could have done a shorter term of service as part of the diaspora volunteer program, but you decided to do the full three years. You will always be an example to all of us, to your brothers and sisters, and everyone who knew you."

Extradition of Eliezer Berland begins, as own son shuns him

The four year international odyssey of Rabbi Eliezer Berland is about to come to an end.

The fugitive rabbi and spiritual leader of the Shuvu Banim yeshiva in Jerusalem fled Israel four years ago, following allegations of sexual misconduct with female members of the religious movement he founded within the Breslov stream of Hasidism.

Shuvu Banim officials respond, explaining the kol korei is not at all surprising, citing the rabbonim who signed have little-to-no influence in the chassidus today and as such, the kol korei is all but meaningless. 

They explain this small bunch has always been on the outside looking in and they attack rabbonim who bring people back into the fold, such as the tzaddik from Yavniel ZT”L and mashpiah Rav Meir Brenner Shlita, “all emanating from their hate for Sephardim and baalei teshuvah…"

Monsey Here We Come ....600 more units on route 59 .... no concern for potential horrific traffic conditions

A Ramapo developer has proposed a 600-unit housing complex spread over more than three-dozen buildings off Route 59 at the site of the old Rockland Drive-In Theatre.

Joseph Brachfeld of Wesley Hills said his Town Square Residences would be a mix of rentals, condominiums and brownstones that would be part of an integrated community including pedestrian walkways and green space. Pricing for the units has not been determined.

He called the area "the gateway to Monsey" and said his proposal would create much-needed housing and improve a site that's been unused for nearly 30 years, after the drive-in went dark in 1987.

Brachfeld's firm redeveloped the former Pathmark shopping center into the Town Square next to his proposed development, which has more than 30 stores including the Evergreen supermarket.

The 23-acre parcel he is eyeing for housing is currently zoned for commercial stores. Brachfeld wants Ramapo to create a new zoning classification — transit oriented development — for his project.

He said Town Square Residences is designed to capitalize on nearby shopping, a park-and-ride lot and a proposed bus rapid transit hub that would be completed when the new Tappan Zee Bridge fully opens in 2018.

A state Department of Transportation spokeswoman confirmed there is a proposed bus rapid transit stop near the Monsey Park and Ride lot, but said details had not been finalized.

IDF Soldier Killed by Grenade is Son of Well-known Rabbi in Passaic and grandchild of Chernobler & Rachmistrivka Rebbes

The brother of one of two soldiers killed in an apparent tragic accident in northern Israel today has told Arutz Sheva of his shock at the loss of his sibling, who he described as a remarkably dedicated soldier.

20-year-old Sergeant Shlomo Rindenow was killed along with 24-year-old Sergeant First Class Hussam Tapesh, when a hand grenade exploded under unclear circumstances as they traveled in a patrol jeep near the Syrian border.

The explosion occurred Sunday morning, but the news was only released for publication later in the afternoon to enable the military to alert the victims' families first.

Shlomo's brother Jeff spoke to Arutz Sheva shortly after news of the tragedy broke.

He said Shlomo, a lone soldier from New Jersey, was in fact the fifth brother in his family to travel to Israel and volunteer in an IDF combat role. One other brother is also currently serving in the army, as a paratrooper.

"It happened at 7 a.m. Israel time, and we were informed about it four hours later," Jeff told Arutz Sheva. He said that Israeli embassy officials imparted the devastating news personally to his family, and were accompanied by a local community rabbi.

Shlomo's father is also a well-known rabbi in the community.

"Our family will be flying into Israel tonight," he continued, adding that there was "no doubt" his brother would be buried in Israel. "He sacrificed for the land, he'll be buried in the land."

He described his youngest sibling as "100% dedicated" to the army.

"He lived and breathed being a soldier - he couldn't wait to get back to base," Jeff recounted.

The funeral is set for tomorrow (Monday), and details are to follow.

Attempted coup d'etat in Turkey, hundreds dead Turkish President reasserts control after military attempts coup. Purge of military underway.

Following a failed coup attempt mounted by Turkey’s military, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has reasserted his control over the country.

After the botched attempt to overthrow the government which left more than 260 dead, Erdogan has set out to purge the judiciary and military. More than 2,700 judges have been removed and nearly 3,000 soldiers arrested.

Loyalists beat Turkish coup supporter 

The Turkish military had announced late Friday night that it had taken over power from the government, declaring that a “peaceful council” had been established “in the name of democratic order.”

Army units occupied two key bridges in Istanbul, shutting down traffic in much of the city. State television and Ankara’s airport were also seized by the military in the coup attempt. Flights to and from Ankara were cancelled following the take-over. Turkish President Erdogan issued no statements in the early hours of the coup, leading to suspicions he had been taken prisoner.

Later, Erdogan spoke out, condemning the attempted coup and placing blame on an Islamic cleric living in exile in the United States, Fethullah Gulen.

“You have engaged in enough treason against this nation,” Erdogan said in a statement. “If you dare, come back to your country.”

On Saturday, Prime Minister Binali Yildirim announced that the death toll had risen to 265, with 1,440 people wounded.

Turkish Military Says It Has Taken Over Country......FALL OF ISLAMIST GOVT... ????

The Turkish military claims to have seized control of the country amid reports of tanks and army jets in Istanbul and Ankara.

An announcer on Turkey's state broadcaster TRT has read out a live statement, reportedly on the orders of the military, saying the country is now being run by a "peace council".

It comes after the NTV broadcaster quoted the army as saying: "Power in the country has been seized in its entirety." 

The Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim has confirmed that military action is taking place, describing it as an illegal "attempt" by a faction of the army to seize power.

A Turkish state news agency is reporting that a top general is among several people being "held hostage" at the military headquarters in Ankara.

It follows media reports that ambulances have been seen in front of the building.

NTV is showing footage of tanks at the entrance to Istanbul's Ataturk airport.

It is reported that all flights have been cancelled in and out of the airport.

Military vehicles are said to be blocking two bridges in Istanbul, while military jets have been heard flying over the Turkish capital, Ankara. 

According to Turkish media, the military statement said the army had taken action to: "reinstall the constitutional order, democracy, human rights and freedoms, to ensure that the rule of law once again reigns in the country, for the law and order to be reinstated."

The military statement went on to say that "all international agreements and commitments will remain. We pledge that good relations with all world countries will continue."

Mr Yildirim has called for calm, saying security forces are doing what is necessary to resolve the situation.

He warned that those responsible for this "illegal attempt " will pay the "highest price."
