I don’t understand. Why the protest? Why the call for action? Why the threats of boycotts? Just go and learn in the Bais HaMedrash and Kollel. If that is good enough to protect Israel and obviate the need to actually defend oneself and your fellow Jews, then why isn’t learning good enough to protect against any Gov’t decree or action? Or is this just another example demonstrating the hypocrisy and morally corrupt Chareidi leadership?! You can’t have it both ways. Either personal Hishtadlus is needed or it is not. Clearly, the whole refusal to serve and help the country is a smokescreen and sorry excuse for the lack of character and ethics of the “Gedolim”! Sorry to say it but think about it and be honest. Isn’t a protest in the streets Bital Torah? I don’t recall chareidim protesting on behalf of Soviet Jewry, agunot, in support of the hostages or against Hamas. Their reason was Bital Torah. Well, the Torah did not save my father’s Rebbe, R’ Elchonon,Hy’d, R’ Simcha Zelig, Hy’d who gave my father smicha nor my grandfather, Hy’d, the Chorkever Dayan. Only my 4 grandchildren currently serving in the IDF will save the chareidim.

Ever since Yated shamelessly eulogized the pedophile Chaim Walder, yemach shemo, they’ve been a disgrace—no better than toilet paper masquerading as journalism.

 In the early hours of Monday, two brothers from the Yitzhakov family, who are students at the “Meorot HaTorah” Yeshiva in Telz Stone, were arrested at their home in Tel Aviv for “draft evasion”. (A third student from the Acheinu yeshiva in Modiin Illit, was arrested early Thursday morning.)

While the arrest initially passed quietly, by Wednesday evening top rabbinic leaders convened for urgent consultations and, as reported extensively in this morning’s religious newspapers, decided to ‘declare war’ over the matter.

In an official statement, the Va’ad HaHatzalah of the Jerusalem Faction (“HaPeleg HaYerushalmi”) wrote:

“Due to the dangerous escalation in the decree of spiritual destruction and the continued persecution of Torah learners by the evil authorities, and following the wicked arrest of ‘Meorot HaTorah’ yeshiva students for the ‘crime’ of Torah study, the rabbis of the Committee consulted with Rabbi Azriel Auerbach and other Roshei Yeshiva. From them came a clear directive: to hold a mass protest against the wicked regime, with thousands of Torah-observant Jews gathering for a major demonstration in the streets of Jerusalem at 17:00.”

The statement continued:

“The rabbis expressed sharp condemnation of the situation: ‘Today, everyone understands that we are in a decisive battle for the soul of the entire charedi world. It is the obligation of every Jew to protest the grave humiliation of Torah learners.’”

The battle this time was not confined to the Jerusalem Faction, representing 10-15% of the charedi public, but has spread to the mainstream charedi public. From the home of Lithuanian Haredi leader Rabbi Dov Landau, a statement followed an emergency consultation held at his residence in Bnei Brak:

The statement stressed:

“Last week, Rabbi Landau warned in his speech at the Va’ad HaYeshivot assembly that if the State of Israel declares war on Torah students, the global charedi world will rise up in battle. The State of Israel has now declared war on Torah students. The global charedi community will wage an unprecedented battle!”

The headline of the Loshon Hara Paper the Yated Ne’eman, the newspaper of the Degel HaTorah party which is vetted by Rabbi Landau’s associates, on Thursday morning carried a single word: “War.”

The subheadline reads:
“The State of Israel has declared open war against Bnei Torah: Two yeshiva student brothers were taken from their home and arrested by military authorities.”

According to the article in the newspaper, military and police forces carried out nighttime raids on the homes of yeshiva students, during which the two brothers, both yeshiva students, were arrested at their home in Tel Aviv. Their remand has reportedly been extended by a military court.

Iran sends surviving nuclear scientists into hiding "Dead Men Walking"

Iran has sent its surviving nuclear scientists into deep hiding after Israel killed more than 30 researchers, The Telegraph can reveal.

Most are no longer living in their homes or teaching at universities, and have been moved to secure locations in Tehran or northern coastal cities, where they live in villas with their families, a senior Iranian official said.

The Telegraph has been shown the names of more than 15 of these surviving scientists, on a list of about 100 held by Israel, whom the Israelis say must now decide whether to continue their work and risk further strikes or find a new career.

“Most of them are no longer living in their houses – they are either moved to safe houses in Tehran or to the north,” the Iranian official said.

He added: “Those who were teaching at universities are replaced with people who have no connection with the nuclear program.”

For Qatar, it’s not about 1967, it’s about 1948

 Given the shift toward a more aggressive approach in Gaza, Qatar is expected to try and stall for Hamas once again. Therefore, it’s crucial to remember that Qatar is working to advance goals that align with Hamas, not with objectives that are compatible with Israel’s existence.

At the UN podium last week, Qatar’s prime minister, who serves as the chief mediator between Israel and Hamas, declared his support for the Palestinian state initiative. He added that justice for the Palestinian people has been delayed for nearly eighty years.

The selection of this date is significant. While Qatar officially supports a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, it actively promotes a narrative that the state of Israel has no right to exist. From Doha’s perspective, the central issue is not 1967 but 1948. A few days after the UN address, the editor of the Qatari newspaper Al-Sharq, which the Qatari ruling family owns, posted a picture from Jaffa in 1948. He claimed that Jews had brutalized the residents of Jaffa without any provocation or the pretense of kidnapped soldiers. This statement disregarded the continuous gunfire from Jaffa toward Tel Aviv, which had resulted in over 1,000 casualties.

The Qatari media provides ample evidence of this ideology. For instance, Al Jazeera uses the term “settlement” for communities established before 1967. This approach was evident in reports about cities like Karmiel, which was founded in 1964.

This line of thinking is reflected in Qatar through numerous art events, cultural exhibitions, and fairs that have promoted images and displays of the entire map of the Land of Israel under the colors of the Palestinian flag. These symbols are also featured in Palestinian schools in Doha. Such maps have appeared in official photographs of visits by senior officials, including the Commissioner-General of UNRWA and Qatari officials like the Minister of Education.

It is therefore unsurprising that this same Minister of Education has authored heroic poems praising terrorists such as Muhammad Deif. Similarly, in 2024, educational and cultural forums in Qatar still held discussions about the “Muqawama,” an abbreviation for Hamas and the resistance to the existence of the state of Israel.

Amid social media reports of Israel being erased from Qatar Airways maps, it should be noted that this is not a new practice. Reports from the early 2000s already documented that Qatari schools were removing Israel from their maps, and Qatari airports had also done this in 2017.

The Emir himself has made this position explicit. In September 2024, he declared at the UN podium that “with all that has taken place and continues to take place, it is no longer tenable to speak of Israel’s right to defend itself in this context without being complicit in justifying the crime.”

However, Gaza is merely a pretext. Two months before the October 7 attack, Qatar submitted a written legal opinion to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, accusing Israel of numerous crimes. The opinion stated: “Israel’s intention to maintain domination over Palestinians can be traced back to its establishment as a State in 1948, and the expulsion of half of the indigenous population of Palestine from their homes during the Nakba.”

This one-sided view, which includes historical distortions, suggests that Qatar still does not recognize Israel’s right to exist.

Another round of talks in Doha has failed, and the truth is plain to see: Qatar is not a partner, but a saboteur. Its so-called “help” is nothing more than a cover for its hostility. To move forward in Gaza, we must stop deluding ourselves and immediately remove Qatar from the equation.

Deri Who Backed the Disastrous Oslo Accords Has Verbal Fight With MK Orit Strock

During the a meeting of the Diplomatic-Security Cabinet, an unusual confrontation erupted between Settlement Minister Orit Strock and MK Aryeh Deri, stemming from differing views on a possible deal with Hamas for the hostages' release.

According to a Kan News report by Michael Shemesh, Deri stated that if Hamas offers a deal, Israel must stop and examine it: "The hostages are civilians, and we must save their lives."

Strock angrily responded: "When you gave the hill in front of my house to Yasser Arafat [as part of the Oslo Accords], are those lives we can afford to give up?" Later, Deri retracted his statement.

Several other confrontations took place during the meeting. MK Deri claimed that "it is immoral not to release hostages," while Minister Bezalel Smotrich criticized this position, saying: "Is it moral for a hundred soldiers to be killed, and then for us to retreat for ten hostages?"

Smotrich also criticized the military: "If it takes three months and three brigades because of the explosives - you are criminals. This is the result of previous deals."

Smotrich voted against the proposed plan, but Prime Minister Netanyahu assured him that Hamas would eventually be defeated, citing remarks from Minister Avi Dichter, who stated that the destruction of a Gazan City would help topple Hamas’ rule. Likud ministers gave Netanyahu the necessary majority, and the plan moved forward.

 

Rabbi Dov Lando pushing "BDS LIKE" economic moves to harm Israel

 

Lithuanian-haredi leader Rabbi Dov Lando has recently initiated an unusual move in which several haredi factions would withdraw their investment funds from Israel, Channel 12 News reported.

According to the report, Rabbi Lando recently approached members of the Eidah Haharedit to explore the possibility that they would join the move in protest of the arrest of haredi yeshiva students who refuse to enlist in the IDF.

The Eidah Haharedit was surprised by the request, which was described as particularly unusual due to the sharp differences between the two sides.

While the extremist faction opposes any cooperation with State institutions, Rabbi Lando is associated with the organized leadership of the haredi community. In response, members of the Eidah Haharedit suggested that Rabbi Lando join the protests, but he refused, stating, according to them, that "he does not believe in this."

The request is being carefully considered by the members of the Eidah Haharedit due to Rabbi Lando's senior status. A source within the Eidah Haharedit claimed that the move could have "dramatic consequences, even leading to the collapse of banks." The source emphasized that despite their rigid ideological stance, they take a cautious and practical approach.

On Thursday, Rabbi Lando, 96, visited the military prison at Beit Lid, where two young haredi men are being held. This is an unusual step by the Lithuanian-haredi leader, and the visit was approved by the military police.

Associated Press’s sympathy for Hezbollah terrorists could’ve been a Babylon Bee parody

 

The Associated Press just made it clear where it stands on the terrorists’ war on Israel: With the terrorists.

How else to read its bizarre puff piece Wednesday sympathizing with the poor, suffering Hezbollah goons injured in Israel’s pager attack last year?

The Babylon Bee couldn’t have come up with a better parody than the 2,100-word feature, “Survivors of Israel’s pager attack on Hezbollah struggle to recover” — though that’s not how AP’s Bassem Mroue and Sarah El Deeb meant it.

The two recount their interviews with six people wounded in the attack, all “Hezbollah officials or fighters or members of their families.”

Israel, they explain, launched an operation aimed at “harming and disrupting” Hezbollah members. Such nerve, no?

Except that this came as Hezbollah was firing rockets aimed at obliterating innocent Israelis — in “solidarity” with Hamas, which had just waged the most barbaric attack against Jews since the Holocaust.

Jerusalem “boasts” of the attack, seethe AP’s authors, who then cite critics claiming it “may have violated international law, calling it indiscriminate.”

Indiscriminate? It was the most cleanly targeted thing possible: Only Hez heavies had the pagers, and Hezbollah admits those wounded or killed were almost all its terrorist personnel.

Ah, but the AP pair never actually use the word “terrorist” as they lament the suffering of Hez associates who “lost fingers” and had “shrapnel lodged under their skin.”

Mahdi Sheri, a 23-year-old Hezbollah fighter, “can no longer play football.” Horror of horrors!

“It’s impossible now” for him even to “find a role alongside Hezbollah fighters.”

What? Never able to attack Israel again? Unforgiveable!

Worse: Hezbollah “is left with the financial and psychological burden of thousands who need long-term medical treatment and recovery.”

Poor, sad terrorist group.

OK, the wire service’s sick bias isn’t news: E.g., after Israel eliminated Hez boss Hassan Nasrallah, the AP’s headline mourned him as “charismatic and shrewd.”

An old and storied agency, the AP may still employ a few objective professionals.

Rabbi Dov Lando Visits Draft Dodgers in Prison ..But Never Went to be "Menacham Avel" Parents of Murdered Soldiers

Prominent Haredi leader Rabbi Dov Lando, spiritual head of Degel HaTorah and a key figure in the Lithuanian ultra-Orthodox community, visited brothers Rafael and Baruch Yitzhakov at the military prison in Beit Lid. The brothers, yeshiva students from Tel Aviv, were arrested after failing to report to the draft office.

Rabbi Lando, 94, was escorted into the family visit section, as shown in a video released by his office. His visit underscores the Haredi leadership’s ongoing stance encouraging yeshiva students to ignore military draft orders.

The brothers’ arrest on Wednesday prompted Rabbi Lando’s office to declare that Israel had “declared war on yeshiva students.” Approximately 80,000 ultra-Orthodox men aged 18 to 24 remain eligible for service but have not enlisted, despite a High Court ruling last year that invalidated decades of blanket draft exemptions for the Haredi community.

For the past year, Haredi leaders have attempted to promote legislation which would establish the status of yeshiva students as exempt from draft, but Likud leaders have consistently demanded sanctions be applied even to yeshiva students who are not drafted. The new head of the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Boaz Bismuth, will try and reopen the negotiations in order to formulate a law which could be acceptable to the charedi public but will still raise draft levels.

Meanwhile, Rabbi Lando made a rare visit to Beit Lid Military Prison to support Refael and Baruch Itzhakov, two Tel Aviv yeshiva students detained for refusing to report for military service. Associates say the rabbi is deeply troubled by the arrests and has been unable to sleep over the situation.
