Mikvahs in Kiryas Yoel Will Open Today ......

Let me describe what a men's mikvah looks like for those who never saw one ..(unless you are a pedifile or a serious sexual predator, you are not missing a thing)

Most Men mikvas have a very large room that accommodates approximately 30 men more or less ....
this room has wooden benches with no back against a wall ... the wall has hooks that one places clothing after getting undressed...
On the floor over the tiles there are slimy wooden slats ...they are slimy because of all the previous dippers that came out of the mikvah ...

The room also has approx 6 -10 open showers depending on the mikvah ... 

Before one enters the water of the single mikva, one is supposed to shower ... there is no privacy .. not in the room, not in the showers and not in the mikvah ...
The body of water called the mikva can accommodate approx 6 naked men ...

After the shower and after one dips into the mikvah....
you go back to the wooden bench and sit with your wet tushi to start the process of getting dressed ... which depending how old you are ..can take up to 5 minutes ...enough time to contract "hoof and mouth" disease or possibly the Corona ..
While the bench is still wet another naked man will sit with his wet tushi on the seat that you just vacated ...

Now that you get the picture, .... believe me.... 
I haven't even begun to describe the scene well ... we can now  discuss the tweet from @mikvapolitics ..

They are reporting that Kiryas Yoel yes the town where their leader just had the virus and whose wife barely survived ... and is still just recovering ... gave a "fatwa" that the Mikvas can now be opened again ....

In a recent tweet Rabbi Yaakov Horowitz wrote that he thinks that it's important to keep the parks open with social distancing rules in place.

In his tweet he attaches a photo of Harriman State Park and adds that he visited the park and it was wonderful to be out in nature ....

So far so good? Right?

You would think ...?

The ignorant Roumanishe Chasidishe buffoons that tweet with the moniker @KollelNiyes took him to task for comparing not opening shuls that are in a closed building with limited space to 

Harriman State Park which has 47,527 acres of open space and includes 200 miles of hiking trails ...

Don't Get a Heart Attack in NY ... "They just let You Die"

New York state just issued a drastic new guideline urging emergency-services workers not to bother trying to revive anyone without a pulse when they get to a scene, amid an overload of coronavirus patients.

While paramedics were previously told to spend up to 20 minutes trying to revive people found in cardiac arrest, the change is “necessary during the COVID-19 response to protect the health and safety of EMS providers by limiting their exposure, conserve resources, and ensure optimal use of equipment to save the greatest number of lives,’’ according to a state Health Department memo issued last week.

First-responders were outraged over the move.

“They’re not giving people a second chance to live anymore,’’ Oren Barzilay, head of the city union whose members include uniformed EMTs and paramedics, fumed of state officials.

“Our job is to bring patients back to life. This guideline takes that away from us,” he said.

Online Database With 26 Million Documents On Nazi Victims, Survivors Now Online

The world’s most comprehensive archive on the victims and survivors of Nazi persecution reached a “milestone” on Tuesday by publishing 26 million documents to its online database, including new information on forced laborers and deported Jews.

The Arolsen Archives–International Centre on Nazi Persecution, formerly known as the International Tracing Service, has a collection of information on about 17.5 million people and belongs to UNESCO’s Memory of the World initiative. It was established by the Western Allies in 1944 and changed its names to Arolsen Archives in 2019.

All 26 million of the Arolsen Archives’ documents, are now available online, a collection that includes information on 21 million people who were displaced, persecuted and murdered by the Nazis.

The new uploads included data on the deportations of Jews, Roma and Sinti from the former German Empire, Austria, Bohemia and Moravia, reported The Jewish Chronicle.

The Arolsen Archives, based in the German town of Bad Arolsen, said the recent addition to its online database was completed with its partner, Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust memorial center in Jerusalem.

“This means that the majority of the documents in the world’s most comprehensive archive on Nazi persecution are now accessible online,” said the archives. “They are a unique body of evidence that documents the crimes committed by the Nazis, and they are of immeasurable value to the relatives of the victims of Nazi persecution.”

Tribute to children of Holocaust features previously unreleased Shlomo Carlebach recording

As we honor the memory of those brutally murdered by the Nazis on Yom Hashoah, Sparks Next presents Mira, featuring previously unreleased audio of the legendary Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach. 

A poignant tribute to the 1.5 million children killed during World War II, Mira was composed by musician and songwriter Cecelia Margules in memory of her maternal aunt Mira who was a beautiful child who loved to sing and dance and brought great joy to her family.

She was taken as a child from the Lodz ghetto together with her family and sent to her death in the gas chambers. The song was originally performed at a 1984 concert by Carlebach at the Brown’s Hotel in the Catskills, with Reb Shlomo calling Margules’s young niece onto the stage as he sang Mira in memory of the aunt whose name she carried.

Directed and produced by Daniel Finkelman, written and produced by Chaya Greenberg and co-directed by Aharon Orian, Mira spans the decades, weaving an exquisite duet between Reb Shlomo and the incomparable talent of Dudu Fisher. 

Vintage cinematography by David Orian takes viewers back in time to 1984 with a reenactment of the concert and shows both war-torn and contemporary Lodz through Fisher’s eyes. 

Cast in the role of a witness to history, Fisher sees Mira and her family rounded up by the Gestapo and herded onto a cattle car as they are sent to their untimely deaths at Auschwitz.

“When Shlomo heard Mira’s story he wanted to tell it very much and when he did you felt it,” said Margules. “The fact that you could still hear him speaking and singing when so much of the tape had been destroyed was an amazing thing.”

The number of remaining Holocaust survivors continues to dwindle with every passing year and the coronavirus outbreak has further chipped away at their numbers, making it more important than ever to pass the torch to the next generation.

“More than ever, during these stressful days,” said Margules. “We need Shlomo Carlebach’s inspiration, his heart and soul as he did in his lifetime, and his innate ability to lift and help a broken spirit"

An Ohio man who dismissed the coronavirus pandemic as a “political ploy” and ripped his state’s lockdown as “bulls–t,” has died of COVID-19, according to reports.

John W. McDaniel, 60, passed away last Wednesday in Columbus — exactly a month after reportedly firing off a series of angry messages about the contagion.

“Does anybody have the guts to say this COVID-19 is a political ploy? Asking for a friend. Prove me wrong,” he wrote on March 13, according to The Sun.

Two days later McDaniel reportedly called “bulls–t” on Ohio governor Mike DeWine’s stay-at-home order closing bars and restaurants.

“He doesn’t have that authority. If you are paranoid about getting sick just don’t go out. It shouldn’t keep those of us from living our lives,” he wrote, according to the reports.

“The madness has to stop.”

The posts have since been deleted, but were saved and shared widely on social media, including by coronavirus talking head Dr. Dena Grayson.

McDaniel’s obituary confirmed that he died “with his loving family by his side from complications from Covid-19.” He was the first COVID-19 fatality in Marion County, the Marion Star said.

In sharp contrast to his reported posts, his family pleaded in his obit for “everyone to continue practicing social distancing to keep each other safe.”

McDaniel leaves behind a wife and two sons and will have a livestreamed funeral service on Wednesday. “You could not have known a more loving and loyal husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend,” the obit said.

“Simply put, Johnny McDaniel loved life and loved everyone he knew with his whole heart.”
