Reb Chaim Kanievsky: "Berland is Crazy"

In a rare and unusual recording that was published by BeChadrei Charedim news site, Hagaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky is heard making an extremely strong statement against the leader of the Shuvu Banim group, Rabbi Eliezer Berland.
The recording came about after a student of Rabbi Berland got into a verbal fight at a Kollel where he learned and sent a question to Hagaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky regarding the correctness of the words of the other student. Rabbi Kanievsky replied:
"The other student is correct. This Rabbi Berland is crazy.”
Rav Kanievsky is known to weigh each word carefully as thousands listen to him and follow his opinions closely.
The news site uncovered a second incident in which Rav Kanievsky called Berland a Rasha and told a fellow rabbi not to go anywhere near Berland.

Lost 1,000-year-old Tanach found on dusty Cairo synagogue shelf

In July 2017, Israeli historian Yoram Meital stumbled upon a handwritten 1028 CE biblical codex that was lying abandoned on a dusty shelf in a Cairo synagogue.

Wrapped in simple white paper of the sort one finds on tables in cheap eateries, at 616 pages, the Zechariah Ben ‘Anan Manuscript is one of the era’s most complete and preserved examples of the “Writings,” the third and concluding section of the Hebrew Bible.

It had been lost to scholars for almost 40 years.
Discovered by Meital in the Karaite Moussa Der’i Synagogue, the Zechariah Ben ‘Anan Manuscript (ZBAM) was previously documented in various publications by modern biblical scholars, from a 1905 Jewish Quarterly Review article by leading expert Richard Gottheil through to microfilms of the manuscript done by a team of Israelis from the Institute of Microfilmed Hebrew Manuscripts in June 1981.
The scholars left notes within the texts, and even published their findings. Then, as the Jewish community increasingly lost its members, the priceless manuscript, too, disappeared.
After decades of trips to Egypt for his academic publications as a professor at Ben-Gurion University, in July 2017 Meital was in Cairo as a private scholar taking part in a Jewish community project headed by the Drop of Milk organization to document the city’s many synagogues — and seeking fodder for an upcoming book.

77-year old female Jewish professor in Pittsburgh sues after being falsely accused of sexual harassment by BDS

by Elder of Zyon Blog

Channa Newman, a 77-year old professor at Point Park University who has taught there since 1964,  has sued the institution claiming employment discrimination based on her Jewish and Israeli ancestry, saying that anti-Zionist faculty and students have collaborated to create a hostile work environment against her.
In 2018, Newman - who was born in Europe during the Holocaust, and who has lived in and is openly supportive of Israel - was accused of Title IX violations, meaning that she was accused of sexual harassment. During one class in November Newman said, in her opinion, that the "MeToo" movement provided false hope for women who had been sexually abused. Five days later a student filed a Title IX complaint and a week after that Newman was removed from her three classes before the school even asked her what happened. Her students knew about her suspension before she did.

Newman also was suspended from her position as chair of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences.

The Little Baby Girl Found in A Coat During the Holocaust

The Most Amazing Story....
When a train filled with a large transport of Jewish prisoners arrived at one of the Nazi killing centers, many Polish gentiles came out to watch the latest group as they were taken away. As the disoriented Jews were gathering their possessions to take with them into the camp, a Nazi officer in charge called out to the villagers standing nearby, "Anything these Jews leave behind you may take for yourselves, because for sure they will not be coming back to collect them!"
Two Polish women who were standing nearby saw a woman towards the back of the group, wearing a large, heavy, expensive coat. Not waiting for someone else to take the coat before them, they ran to the Jewish woman and knocked her to the ground, grabbed her coat and scurried away.
Moving out of sight of the others, they quickly laid the coat down on the ground to divide the spoils of what was hiding inside. Rummaging through the pockets, they giddily discovered gold jewelry, silver candlesticks and other heirlooms. They were thrilled with their find, but as they lifted the coat again, it still seemed heavier than it should. Upon further inspection, they found a secret pocket, and hidden inside the coat was .... a tiny baby girl!

"Mini Mike" Says Elderly Cancer Patients Should Be Denied Treatment To Cut Costs

Billionaire and Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg said in a 2011 video that elderly cancer patients should be denied treatment in order to cut health care costs.
“All of these costs keep going up, nobody wants to pay any more money, and at the rate we’re going, health care is going to bankrupt us,” said Bloomberg, who was then New York City’s mayor.
“We’ve got to sit here and say which things we’re going to do, and which things we’re not, nobody wants to do that. Y’know, if you show up with prostate cancer, you’re 95 years old, we should say, ‘Go and enjoy. Have a nice [inaudible]. Live a long life. There’s no cure, and we can’t do anything.’ If you’re a young person, we should do something about it,” Bloomberg said in the video.
“Society’s not ready to do that yet,” he added.

"Crazy Bernie" Showing Total Disregard for Israel...Will Not Attend AIPAC Conference

Jason Greenblatt, the former US envoy to the Middle East, on Sunday night criticized Senator Bernie Sanders following his announcement he would boycott the annual AIPAC policy conference.

In a tweet, Greenblatt suggested that Sanders should attend AIPAC but not to speak, rather to listen and learn.

“Outrageous, shocking statement; wrong on so many levels; shows a total disregard for Israel & complete lack of understanding of the conflict & the very serious security challenges Israel faces. Bernie Sanders & staff should attend AIPAC conference not to speak but to listen/learn!” he wrote.

Sanders wrote on Twitter earlier on Sunday,
“The Israeli people have the right to live in peace and security. So do the Palestinian people. I remain concerned about the platform AIPAC provides for leaders who express bigotry and oppose basic Palestinian rights. For that reason I will not attend their conference,” he tweeted.
“As president, I will support the rights of both Israelis and Palestinians and do everything possible to bring peace and security to the region,” he added.
