MEET AN UNKNOWN ISRAELI HERO
His name is Motti. He is 70-years-old.
He is the grandson of Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld, leader of the Haredi community during the British Mandate of Palestine.
He studied in top, mainstream Haredi yeshivas.
Motti is a successful businessman.
And now he is…an IDF soldier.
That’s right.
He recently enlisted in the IDF saying:
“My father fought in the War of Independence. My son is a combat soldier. I always felt like something was missing. I think the IDF uniform is holy clothing. It’s a symbol of unity and this is the most important thing that the nation of Israel needs today.”Wishing Motti great success in his service.

Yes you can enlist at 70, but not full-time, and cannot join combat!

That's exactly my answer to 11:38 who commented that Harav Ovadia Yosef had a grandson who married a man, his intention was to denigrate Harav Yosef, so I gave two examples of Gedoilim who had relatives with issues, I added Berland to show that Chardei Leaders can also be sexual perverts!
I thought his intent was to show that a grand child is irrelevant to what their grandparents would say.
