At tonight’s annual NYPD vs. Hatzalah baseball game, the NYPD beat Hatzalah 2-0 in 9 innings, under the leadership of their coach, Chief Richie Taylor and team Captain Nick Skomina!*

"Knocks crap out of" is usually more for 8-0 scores. 2-0 is close and a well earned victory.
I wouldn't characterize a 2-0 loss as being knocked the crap out of, but let me not ruin DIN's gleeful reporting of a chareidie loss.
