Left Redefining ‘jihad’ in an Insidious Attempt To Twist Reality
If you had “jihadism gets a PR makeover” on your 2024 bingo card, feel free to mark it off.
Teachers who attended an “anti-Muslim bias” webinar offered by the New York City Department of Education on Feb. 20 were told the meaning of jihad was “struggle” and that it could apply to a person’s effort at self-improvement, showing a video that suggested that a “jihad” could mean always giving your “best effort,” building “friendships across the aisle” or working “to get fit.”
The video also tried to whitewash “sharia” as “personal religious or moral guidance.”
Of course, no one but ultra-lefties view “jihad” this way: Merriam-Webster’s first definition of the word is “a holy war waged on behalf of Islam as a religious duty.” The Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists aren’t interested in, say, shedding pounds from their own bodies but blood from nonbelievers.
When former Hamas leader Khaled Mashal called for a “global day of jihad,” on Oct. 23 following the Hamas attack on Israel, he wasn’t suggesting that Muslims worldwide slow down on the carbs and fats or look to make more friends.
“When the world, America, the West, and the Zionists see . . . that convoys of mujahideen are on their way to shed their pure blood on the land of Palestine, the battlefield will change, the balance of power will change,” he made clear.
In 1998, when Osama bin Laden signed a letter calling for “jihad” against “Jews and crusaders,” his meaning was clearly stated: “The ruling to kill the Americans and their allies — civilians and military — is an individual duty for every Muslim who can do it in any country in which it is possible to do it.”
Yes, the literal translations may be “struggle.” But the left’s attempt to hide its everyday meaning an Orwellian attempt to twist reality and suit its narrative: Hamas is a group of “freedom fighters”; Jews are “white colonizers”; terrorism is “resistance.”
With educators being taught this bunk in city-run events, it’s only a matter of time before it makes it into classrooms.
This insidious spreading of propaganda has to end now
Richard Lewis from ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ Dead at 76
Richard Lewis’ famous friends are paying tribute to him after the comedian and “Curb Your Enthusiasm” star died Tuesday of a heart attack. He was 76.
“His wife, Joyce Lapinsky, thanks everyone for all the love, friendship and support and asks for privacy at this time,” Lewis’ publicist, Jeff Abraham, told The Post in a statement Wednesday upon announcing the news.
Lewis’ longtime co-star and “Curb” creator, Larry David, 76, reacted to the loss in a statement to People.
“Richard and I were born three days apart in the same hospital and for most of my life he’s been like a brother to me. He had that rare combination of being the funniest person and also the sweetest. But today he made me sob and for that, I’ll never forgive him,” David joked.
The Post has contacted a rep for David for comment.
Cheryl Hines, who portrays David’s on-screen wife in the series, also gushed to the outlet about Lewis.
“When I was young I had the biggest crush on Richard Lewis. He was the funniest person on stage and the most handsome comedian. Then when I was cast on ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm,’ I got to work with him and it was a dream come true,” said Hines.
She continued, “Through the years I learned who Richard really was and the gifts he gave. Yes, he was the comedian I fell in love with, but he was also one of the most loving people I know. He would take time to tell the people he loved what they meant to him – especially in recent years. In between takes on ‘Curb,’ he would tell me how special I was to him and how much he loved me. I love you Richard.”
The "Shvigger" From Hell!
A couple’s dream of the perfect wedding is in tatters after the groom’s family reportedly tried to sabotage their big day.
The relationship between Alexandra and her boyfriend was just like a fairy tale.
The man was born into a wealthy family in Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, Mexico, and his family had dreamed of him marrying a rich girl.
But Alexandra wasn’t from a rich family, leading the future in-laws to suspect she was only with the man for his money.
Then they started doing anything they could to put a stop to the relationship.
The second the relationship was established, the groom’s family rejected the prospect of welcoming Alexandra.
According to a Reddit post, Alexandra was nothing short of a sweetheart. “I have heard is that she is a lovely person and wouldn’t hurt anyone,” the post read.
But due to her lack of family money, the in-laws launched a harassment campaign against her, threatening her and trying to bribe her with a blank check to leave her boyfriend.
Determined to prove herself as anything but a “gold digger,” she ignored the constant complaints from her partner’s side of the family.
But things took a wild turn when they announced their engagement.
Upon hearing the news of her son’s engagement, Alexandra’s mother-in-law-to-be, Maupe, faked a heart attack, a now-viral X (formerly Twitter) thread explained.
According to the post, Maupe blamed the couple for her ill health and demanded her son “cover all of her medical costs.”
If you thought that was bad, just wait.
Widow of Oct 7 Hero warns Knesset panel against Shalit-type deal
Mrs. Shlomit Kalmanson, widow of Elchanan Kalmanson HY’D, who died rescuing victims from Kibbutz Be’eri on Oct. 7, addressed the Knesset House Committee on Monday as a member of the Heroism Forum, an apolitical group of bereaved families formed in December.
“I came here today as part of the Heroism Forum to call on you to continue fighting. The fighting must continue until Hamas is vanquished. This is how we will safely bring the kidnapped home; out of power, out of strength,” she said.
A new hostage agreement is in the works. Mossad chief David Barnea returned from Paris on Saturday, and for the first time in weeks, reported progress and optimism regarding a possible agreement.
However, Mrs. Kalmanson expressed concern about repeating the mistakes of past deals. “I am also sitting here on behalf of the murdered people from the Shalit deal,” she said.
Gilad Shalit, an IDF soldier, was captured by Hamas terrorists in 2006 and held for five years before being released in a prisoner exchange in 2011, in which Israel freed 1,027 terrorists for his release.
Nazi Germany? In UC Berkeley Police forced to evacuate Jews for their Safety as Pro-Hamas Storm the event
Leaders of the University of California, Berkeley, have denounced a protest against an event organized by Jewish students that forced police to evacuate attendees and a speaker from Israel for their safety after demonstrators broke through doors.
The incident Monday night “violated not only our rules, but also some of our most fundamental values,” Chancellor Carol Christ and Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Benjamin Hermalin said in a statement to the university community.
Minutes before the event was to start, a crowd of about 200 protesters began to surround the building, Zellerbach Playhouse, Christ and Hermalin said in their statement.
“Doors were broken open and the protesters gained unauthorized entry to the building,” they said. “The event was canceled, and the building was evacuated to protect the speaker and members of the audience.”
University campuses have been a hotbed of protest activity surrounding the Israel-Hamas war, which began following Hamas’ deadly Oct. 7 attack on Israel. Israel’s responding assault on Gaza has killed 29,000 Palestinians, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
Berkeley’s student newspaper, The Daily Californian, reported that the event was a lecture by Ran Bar-Yoshafat, an Israeli attorney and former member of the Israeli Defense Force.
The newspaper reported that protesters changed “Long live the intifada,” “Hey hey, ho ho, the occupation has got to go” and “Killers on campus.”
The campus group Bears for Palestine had posted on social media about the event, urging students to “shut it down.” Bears is a reference to Golden Bears, the name of the university’s sports teams. There was no immediate reply to an email seeking comment from the group on the criticism of the protest.
The event had been moved to Zellerbach because it was believed to be more secure than the original location and a team of university police had been sent there. But it wasn’t possible to ensure student safety and that the event could go forward “given the size of the crowd and the threat of violence,” the statement said.
UC Berkeley spokesperson Dan Mogulof told the San Francisco Chronicle that he could not substantiate reports of injuries, but he urged that any be reported to the university.
Christ and Hermalin said they respect the right to protest “as intrinsic to the values of democracy and an institution of higher education” but cannot ignore protests that interfere with the rights of others to hear and express their own perspectives.

Biden wins Michigan primary despite anti-Israel Tlaib'crap
President Biden easily won Michigan’s Democratic primary Tuesday night.
With almost three-fifths of the expected vote in, Biden had 81.2% support, while rivals Marianne Williamson and Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.) garnered 3.0% and 2.8%, respectively.
“Uncommitted” received 13.0% of the vote, far below the benchmark set in the 2008 Michigan Democratic primary, when close to 40% of the electorate opted not to back any candidate.
A fuller picture of the “uncommitted” vote would not be clear until final results came in from Wayne County — home to the largest Arab-American community in the country, based in the Detroit suburb of Dearborn.
The movement to steer clear of supporting Biden, 81, was driven by anti-Israel group “Listen to Michigan,” which aimed to show Biden he can not win a second term unless he demands the Jewish state enter a cease-fire in its war against Hamas following the Oct. 7 terror attack that killed an estimated 1,200.
Listen to Michigan set the modest goal of getting 10,000 voters to mark themselves “uncommitted” — a reference to the margin by which former President Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in the state in 2016.
Demon'rats failed to take the House, so they’re rewriting rules with toxic map proposal
Dems’ toxic map quest
The House majority ran through New York in 2022.
The red wave that pundits predicted never made its way ashore nationally, but it definitely washed over the landscape here in New York. Running as one team, we campaigned hard and flipped many House seats from Democrat to Republican in purple, suburban districts.
New Yorkers were able to cast their votes in some of the most competitive races in the country, and we ultimately decided control of the House of Representatives.
Since then, though, to New Yorkers’ significant detriment, rather than stopping the flow of illegal migrants or reducing violent crime, Democrats have been obsessing over how to violate the Constitution, rule of law and will of the people to jam through a hyperpartisan gerrymander of the state’s fair congressional district lines.
For what feels like the millionth time in two years, New Yorkers once again woke up this week wondering who their representatives in Congress are because Democrats keep trying to change the lines.
Corrupt, power-hungry politicians are playing wicked games with these maps, confusing voters and ignoring the state Constitution in the process.
The same leaders who preach to us about “protecting democracy” are fully committed to destroying democracy. They clearly have no regard for the will of voters.
Bibi Responds To Biden’s Warning: “82% Of The American Public Supports Israel”
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Tuesday evening responded to President Joe Biden’s warning on Monday night during an interview on NBC that the current right-wing government in Israel is causing it to lose international support.
Netanyahu said: “Since the start of the war, I have been leading a diplomatic campaign to curb pressure to end the war prematurely as well as to secure strong support for Israel.”
“We have had considerable success in this area because a Harvard-Harris poll was published today which shows that 82% of the American public supports Israel. That means that four out of five US citizens support Israel and not Hamas.”
“This gives us further strength to continue the military campaign until complete victory,” Netanyahu asserted.
See the poll here.
Biden said on Monday: “Israel has had the overwhelming support of the vast majority of nations. If it keeps this up with this incredibly conservative government they have, and [National Security Minister Itamar] Ben-Gvir and others… they’re going to lose support from around the world, and that is not in Israel’s interest.”
