Bronx Zoo tiger tests positive for coronavirus

The coronavirus is infecting New Yorkers of all stripes.
A 4-year-old Malayan tiger at the Bronx Zoo has tested positive for the COVID-19 bug after developing a dry cough, the Wildlife Conservation Society said in a statement Sunday.
“Nadia, a 4-year-old female Malayan tiger at the Bronx Zoo, has tested positive for COVID-19. She, her sister Azul, two Amur tigers, and three African lions had developed a dry cough and all are expected to recover,” the statement read.
The diagnosis was confirmed by USDA’s National Veterinary Services Laboratory in Iowa “out of an abundance of caution,” the society said.
The big cats are on the mend, the WCS said.

Hundreds of Chassidim in Williamsburg Ignore that Thousands are Dying....Go to Funeral of Shoporoner Who Died of Covid-19

The Heimishe community is livid that they are being singled out by the anti-semites as the ones spreading the virus! .......

Yet there were two funerals on Sunday, of Rabbanim that died of the Virus ...with hundreds ignoring the laws of the land...spreading death and sickness .....

and what is interesting is that the Kozlever Rebbe of Boro-Park barely had a minyan  when he was alive and well just like the Nadvorner Rebbe of Flatbush, who died last week of the virus; his funeral was a pushing and shoving experience ... ...
Both the Nadverner and the Kozlever barely had 10 people davening in their shuls..... and this is in places like Boro-Park and Flatbush where their is B"H a massive heimishe oilim...yet no one saw fit to give them respect when they were alive
yet when they died, suddenly its a mitzvah to spread disease and death to the rest of us ...

Stop congregating and follow the laws .... stop inciting the anti-semites ...
STOP ALREADY!

Hagaon HaRav Tzvi Hirsh Meislish the Av Beis Din of Shopron was Niftar on Sunday from COVID-19 at the age of 80. The Levaya is taking place on Sunday night on Hewes Street in Williamsburg.
Hundreds of people showed up to the Levaya on Hewes Street, only to be met with a massive NYPD Level 1 Mobilization response. A police chopper was hovering overhead as police began trying to move people off the streets.

Chasidishe Family Calls Police After Member of Family Deliberately Spreads Corona

A coronavirus carrier was arrested Sunday on a bus on its way to Jerusalem, on suspicion of deliberately spreading the disease.
Police said in a statement that the suspect, a confirmed COVID-19 patient, was taken in for questioning on Route 1, and that all the other bus passengers were ordered to quarantine for 14 days.
It also said the driver of the bus had been fined NIS 5,000 ($1,400) for having 34 passengers on the bus, more than the 25 currently allowed for that type of vehicle.
Hebrew-language media reported that the virus patient was a man in his 30s from the ultra-Orthodox settlement of Beitar Illit, near Jerusalem, who had been on a 960 bus from Haifa to the capital. It was unclear why he was making that journey.

Netanyahu condemns incitement against Charedim >>>>Bennet "Chareidim Not at Fault"

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu condemned what he called "incitement" against the haredi community over the coronavirus outbreak.

"I strongly condemn the rampant incitement against the haredi public, which internalized the danger and the instructions of the Health Ministry," Netanyahu stated Sunday.
"The coronavirus epidemic does not distinguish between haredi and secular, between Arabs and Jews. Neither do we. This war is for all of us. Together we will win it," the prime minister added.

Shul In Woodmere Was Open As Usual This Shabbos Despite Regulations

Nadverneh Rebbes Levayeh Went On Despite Social Distancing Rules

Guys this took place this past Wednesday .......
And you know what's crazy?
This Nadverner Rebbe barely had a minyan ....
While he was alive and well, they didn't find it in their hearts to give him respect and come daven when he needed them most ...
but now in midst of "social distancing" regulations they came out in mass....to what? .... bury him!
Throngs of Hasidic Jews gathered in Brooklyn Wednesday for a local rabbi’s funeral, brazenly flouting social distancing orders amid the coronavirus pandemic pummeling the city, online video shows.
In the 30-second clip, which has been circulating online, dozens of members of the Jewish community — some wearing protective facial masks — can be been seen marching in an outdoor procession down Avenue N near East 9th Street in Midwood as a close cluster of men carry a casket above their heads in the middle of the street.
Members of the civilian nonprofit Brooklyn patrol group Shmira can be seen guiding the heavily populated procession, the footage shows.
Shmira did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Bnei Brak In Complete Lockdown Yet Residents Welcome Soldiers, Invite Them To Shabbos Meals

After the Israeli government decided to impose a total lockdown on Bnei Brak and declared it a “restricted zone” in order both to prevent the spreading of coronavirus outside the city and to remove existing patients and elderly people from the town, thousands of soldiers came to the town to implement the government’s policies.

Despite the lockdown leaving large families in small apartments dependent on the government and army for supplies, residents demonstrated goodwill towards the soldiers and even invited them to their Shabbos meals.

Doron Herman of News13 tweeted some heartwarming clips from the beleaguered city

Rav Mattis Blum Author of Torah Ledaas Passes On

.

Rav Matis Blum zt”l, rov of Cong. Torah Lodaas in Queens, NY, was niftar..
Rav Blum was an outstanding talmid chochom and mechaber seforim, whose many volumes of Torah Lodaas, containing his chiddushei Torah, can be found in botei medrash across the world.
Rav Blum was a talmid muvhak of Rav Avrohom Pam zt”l, under whom he learned at Yeshiva Torah Vodaas. In many of Rav Blum’s writings, Rav Pam is quoted copiously, and Rav Blum was a virtual treasure trove of insights, divrei Torah and stories from his rebbi.
Many knew Rav Blum through his enlightening divrei Torah sheets, titled Torah Lodaas, that were distributed to shuls. Decades ago, before others began distributing such publications, Rav Blum’s distinctive Torah Lodaas sheets – front half in Lashon Kodesh, back half in English – provided many people with the chizuk, inspiration and divrei Torah to infuse their Shabbos with meaning. Rav Blum began distributing these sheets over 40 years ago.
Rav Blum, who was well-versed in halacha as well, was a popular halacha teacher at Machon Bais Yaakov, and was beloved and respected by everyone who came into contact with him.
Rav Blum’s middos were sterling, and he carried himself with exceptional humility. His simchas hachaim, his love of people, and his tangible ahavas haTorah and yiras Shomayim served as examples to others.
About 12 years ago, Rav Blum’s first wife, Mrs. Etti Blum a”h, passed away. He was zocheh to remarry and leaves behind his rebbetzin, who was supremely dedicated to him.
Rav Blum is survived by his 10 children: Bina Katz, Shoshana Purec, Baila Malka Elephant, Tzvi Blum, Yocheved Burztyn, Bracha Tova zukatinski, Henoch Blum, Mordechai Blum, Yaakov Blum, and Shulamis Blum.
