NEW FEMA RULE: NO AID FOR STATES THAT BOYCOTT ISRAEL

The Trump administration has rolled out a sweeping new policy denying federal disaster-preparedness funds to any U.S. state or city that boycotts Israeli companies.
Under new FEMA guidelines, recipients of emergency aid must certify they do not cut ties with Israeli firms—making support for Israel a condition for receiving life-saving assistance.

The rule, posted Friday, impacts over $1.9 billion in critical grants used for search-and-rescue equipment, emergency management staff, and infrastructure like backup power. It directly targets the growing Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement, which calls for economic pressure on Israel over its policies in the Palestinian territories. The campaign gained renewed traction following the 2023 Hamas attack and Israel’s military response in Gaza.

Late Night Comedian John Oliver Keeps Bashing Israel

HBO host John Oliver used his platform Sunday night to launch another one-sided assault on Israel, blaming the Jewish state for Gaza’s humanitarian crisis while completely omitting Hamas’s central role in creating and perpetuating the disaster.

In a lengthy Last Week Tonight segment, Oliver began by calling Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a “sh—y magician” for questioning international starvation claims in Gaza.

“What’s happening in Gaza right now is a famine. All the information we have points to that, except for this f—ing guy [Netanyahu] and a few adult junior detectives squinting at each photo of a skeletal child to figure out if they’re the right kind of dying,” Oliver stated.

Oliver slammed U.S. military aid to Israel, saying the country received nearly $18 billion in the first year of the war. He also took a swipe at Trump for calling starving children “very hungry.” While mocking the understatement, he added that it was a rare moment of Trump expressing something resembling empathy.

Despite Oliver’s claims, extensive evidence shows Hamas systematically diverts humanitarian assistance for military purposes. Israeli intelligence reports show that Hamas has diverted up to 25 percent of aid supplies to its fighters or sold them to civilians. By controlling the flow of aid into Gaza, Hamas blocks or diverts supplies that are not under its direct oversight, often imposing heavy “taxes” or fees on aid shipments.

Israel has implemented extensive measures to facilitate aid delivery despite Hamas’s obstruction. Last week, the IDF announced humanitarian pauses (10 a.m.–8 p.m.) in Gaza City, Deir al‑Balah, and Al‑Mawasi, along with secured humanitarian corridors coordinated to expand aid access. The United States and Israel have also backed the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), designed to deliver aid directly to Palestinian civilians while keeping it out of Hamas’s hands.

Most tellingly, Oliver’s 20-minute segment contained no mention of the October 7, 2023 Hamas massacre that triggered this war. Hamas terrorists killed 1,189 people, including 815 civilians, wounded 7,500 others, and took 251 hostages in what has been called the deadliest terrorist attack in Israeli history. Oliver’s segment also completely ignored Hamas’s repeated rejection of ceasefire proposals that could have ended the humanitarian crisis months ago.

But then again, that might have complicated his simplistic narrative.

Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara Removed By Unanimous Government Vote

Israel’s cabinet voted Monday to dismiss Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara, accusing her of political bias and obstruction.

She and PM Netanyahu did not attend the vote.

The move sparked immediate legal challenges, with petitions filed to the Supreme Court claiming the dismissal is illegal and threatens judicial independence.

The Court may freeze the decision pending review. While the dismissal passed in the cabinet, the decision will not take effect immediately.

Terrorists in Gaza caught on camera launching mortars from within humanitarian aid tents

Terrorists in Gaza were caught on camera launching mortars from within humanitarian aid tents—structures meant to protect civilians.

After firing, they expressed mock outrage over Israeli retaliation, accusing the IDF of targeting “civilian areas” and questioning why the global community wasn’t speaking out—despite using those very tents for attacks.

Israeli Delegation Halted by Polish Police from Carrying Flags During Auschwitz-Birkenau March - The Jewish Voice

An Israeli delegation of 180 military and defense personnel was prevented from carrying national flags during a solemn march at the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp on Thursday, in an incident that has reignited sensitivities in Israel-Poland relations. The delegation, part of Israel’s official ‘Witnesses in Uniform’ program, was stopped at the entrance to the camp by a local police officer, who ordered that the Israeli flags be removed from view.

According to a report at The Jewish News Syndicate (JNS), despite repeated attempts by Israeli representatives to reason with the officer, the order was enforced. Delegation leaders ultimately instructed their flagbearers to lower the standards, leaving the group to proceed without the traditional display of the national emblem.

The Witnesses in Uniform program, which includes current and former members of the Israel Defense Forces, the broader defense establishment, and family members of fallen soldiers, has long conducted commemorative marches in Poland. These ceremonies, held at former Nazi concentration and extermination sites, typically feature uniformed participants carrying Israeli flags as symbols of resilience and remembrance.

One participant, speaking anonymously to Israeli media and cited by JNS, described the event as “humiliating.” The individual noted that never before had such a prohibition been enforced: “No military ceremony has ever been halted midway; not in the forests, not in Treblinka, not in Warsaw, not in Majdanek. In all of them, we marched with flag bearers at the front.”

The source added that the prohibition was especially painful given the visibility of the moment. “This humiliation was public, right in front of a crowd of onlookers who were filming us and impressed by the military ceremony. Every year, delegations are allowed in with flags. There are well-known photos, always, of officers in uniform carrying flags at Birkenau. In our view, the directive stemmed from a mix of antisemitism and an attempt to reshape the past,” the participant said.

Trump tells Chuck Schumer to ‘GO TO HELL’

President Trump blasted Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer and told him to “GO TO HELL” as a fight over confirming executive branch political nominees boiled over and dozens of potential appointees were left in limbo.

Trump had wanted the Senate to stay in session and clear up the backlog of presidential appointees, but a deal between Republicans and Democrats to push through the nominees fell apart.

Senators went home for their August recess without confirming a slate of Trump’s nominees — leaving the president fuming.

“Senator Cryin’ Chuck Schumer is demanding over One Billion Dollars in order to approve a small number of our highly qualified nominees, who should right now be helping to run our Country,” the president fumed on Truth Social.

“This demand is egregious and unprecedented, and would be embarrassing to the Republican Party if it were accepted. It is political extortion, by any other name. Tell Schumer, who is under tremendous political pressure from within his own party, the Radical Left Lunatics, to GO TO HELL!”

Many Republicans had been hoping to get just over 130 nominees from the backlog confirmed before the August recess.

Many of these types of civilian nominees breeze through the Senate via voice vote or unanimous confirmation. But Democrats took advantage of Senate rules to significantly delay confirmation of those picks.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) groused that no other president in recent history has faced so much obstruction.

Thune negotiated with Schumer (D-NY) on a deal to bundle up Trump’s picks to allow voting for them in bulk. In one iteration of the deal, the Senate would have voted on a batch of the picks before breaking for recess, and then another chunk when the upper chamber reconvenes.

But it appears that Democrats wanted guarantees from Trump that he would unfreeze some of the funding his administration had cut off for foreign aid and the National Institute of Health.

“Do not accept the offer, go home and explain to your constituents what bad people the Democrats are, and what a great job the Republicans are doing, and have done, for our Country. Have a great RECESS and, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!” Trump added.
