Read the column the New York Times didn’t want you to read

Last weekend, New York Times columnist Bret Stephens wrote a piece criticizing the rationale behind the forced ouster of Times reporter Donald G. McNeil Jr., but it was never published. Stephens told colleagues the column was killed by publisher A.G. Sulzberger. Since then, the piece has circulated among Times staffers and others — and it was from one of them, not Stephens himself, that The Post obtained it. We publish his spiked column here in full.

Every serious moral philosophy, every decent legal system and every ethical organization cares deeply about intention.

It is the difference between murder and manslaughter. It is an aggravating or extenuating factor in judicial settings. It is a cardinal consideration in pardons (or at least it was until Donald Trump got in on the act). It’s an elementary aspect of parenting, friendship, courtship and marriage.

Newly Elected Senator Anti-semite Raphael Warnock of Georgia Under Investigation For Potential Voter Fraud

Georgia election officials say they’re referring for possible criminal prosecution a potential voter fraud case involving a group recently linked to one of the state’s new Democratic U.S. senators — The New Georgia Project.

U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock, a Democrat elected to the Senate last month, is named as a respondent in the case because of his former ties to the group, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

It’s among 35 cases involving potential violations of election law being sent from the State Election Board to the attorney general or local prosecutors, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said in a statement Thursday.

The New Georgia Project, which bills itself as a nonpartisan effort to register voters, is accused of submitting 1,268 voter registration applications after the 10-day deadline to do so. The missed deadline caused voters to be disenfranchised in the March 19, 2019, special election, according to Raffensperger’s statement.

It’s among 35 cases involving potential violations of election law that the State Election Board is sending to the attorney general or local prosecutors, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said in a statement Thursday.

Warnock was listed as the CEO for the New Georgia Project at the time, but the organization says his actual position was chairman of its board. He resigned from that post on Jan. 28, 2020.

Warnock and the New Georgia Project didn’t immediately respond to the newspaper’s request for comment.

The New Georgia Project was founded by Democrat Stacey Abrams in 2014. It has registered nearly 500,000 people from underrepresented communities to vote in Georgia. The group also advocates for civil and human rights “and works to advance justice on behalf of historically marginalized communities,” it said in a recent news release.

Also among the cases being referred to prosecutors, some of which date back several years: Four instances of felons voting or registering to vote; four cases of non-citizens voting or registering to vote; and one case of misplaced ballots during the 2020 general election, which didn’t change the outcome, Raffensperger said in a statement.

“Election fraud is not tolerated in Georgia. When there is evidence of it, the people responsible face prosecution,” said Raffensperger, chairman of the five-member election board.

“Georgia has multiple safeguards in place that allow our team of investigators to discover fraudulent voting,” he said. “They worked to catch the wrongdoing in these cases, and they maintain the security of Georgia elections.”

Anti-Vaxers Spread an Outrageous Lie ... Claiming Lady Doctor Miscarried Because Vaccine ...

More anti-vax depravity. This young doctor had a miscarriage 3 weeks "before" getting her vaccine. Anti-vaxxers on social media are spreading her picture around claiming that the vaccine caused her miscarriage!

This makes us believe that anything written or posted by an anti-vaxxer is false, doctored or grossly misleading

When VP Harris Joked About Killing Trump, Pence

Vice President Kamala Harris once joked on national television about killing former President Donald Trump and former Vice President Mike Pence.

In a Twitter post Wednesday, political activist Jack Posobiec shared a video of Harris on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in early 2018.

The then-senator from California was asked a question that served as the setup for a kind of cage-match quip: If she had to be stuck in an elevator with Trump, Pence, or former U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions, which one would she pick?

“Does one of us have to come out alive?” Harris responded.

Harris laughed loudly as the show’s crowd applauded enthusiastically.

DIMWITTED DEMS IMPEACH THEMSELVES WITH STALINIST SHOW-TRIAL

GOP Sen. Rand Paul and Rep. Jim Jordan are accusing Democrats of delaying urgent legislation in Congress by pursuing a “political impeachment charade” against former President Donald Trump in two op-eds published Tuesday.

Ahead of the first day of proceedings in his second impeachment trial, the Republican lawmakers urged the Senate to quickly acquit Trump and move on from what they called a constitutionally-dubious attempt to impeach the former president, who is now a private citizen, over his role in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

Paul (R-Ky.) blasted Democrats for pushing their own brand of violence toward Republicans and Trump allies, and said they were silent during rioting in 2020 and the near-fatal 2017 shooting of House Majority Whip Steve Scalise.

“I’ve spoken out against the words of many on my side, including those of President Trump,” Paul wrote in the opinion piece published Tuesday by Fox News.

“But where is the other side? Where were they all last year when political violence ravaged our cities, when people could barely dine or walk the streets in many places? When businesses burned and people were injured or killed by mobs?” he continued.

“Where were they when it was shown the political rhetoric of Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and the rest of the socialist left inspired the shooter who fired at Republicans at our baseball practice, nearly killing Rep. Steve Scalise, R-La.?” he wrote.

Paul and his wife were themselves surrounded by a mob of Black Lives Matter protesters in Washington, D.C. in Aug. 2020 and said they feared for their lives during the ordeal.

Paul also lashed out at House Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) for warning two Supreme Court justices they would “pay the price” if they voted to restrict abortion rights last March.

Paul forced a vote last week to dismiss the trial on the grounds that it is unconstitutional. Forty-five Republicans supported the measure, suggesting Trump will almost certainly be acquitted.

Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio, an ardent supporter of Trump on Capitol Hill, also blasted Democrats for pursuing the trial while the country faces the urgent challenges of the coronavirus pandemic.

Echoing the arguments made by Trump’s lawyers, Jordan said the FBI was already aware of threats to the Capitol before the president addressed supporters on Jan. 6.

“Democrats ignored these facts. They also ignored the Constitution. Democrats afforded President Trump no due process in the House of Representatives,” he wrote in another Fox News piece published Tuesday.

“In fact, there was no process whatsoever – no witnesses, no depositions, no hearings, no cross-examinations,” he went on, noting that Democrats had moved to impeach Trump at least nine times since January 2017.

“In their desperation to attack President Trump, Democrats are trampling on other important constitutional rights,” he wrote.

New app allows users to block 800 New York Times journalists on Twitter to ‘fight against disinformation’

A new app hit the market that lets users block New York Times journalists from appearing on Twitter feeds in a bid to “fight against disinformation.”

“It’s time to block,” the Block the New York Times app’s Twitter account tweeted on Monday. “Twitter users have begun mass-blocking New York Times-linked accounts to control the flood of corporate disinformation online. Now, a new app automates the process.”

The app allows users to block 800 corporate journalists associated with the New York Times.

The tweet from the app’s account links to a page set up to appear similar to the New York Times’s homepage but instead mocks the outlet with hoax stories, including one titled, “Ten Thousand Typos A Year: One Man’s Quest to Correct the Record of the Paper of Record.” The links on the website then guide users to download the app.

“Long marketed as the ‘paper of record,’ the New York Times Company now faces an economic and reputational reckoning,” the app’s creators wrote. “Employees are revolting, traffic is plummeting, colleagues are scathing, and readers are blocking.”

The New York Times has come under increased scrutiny in recent years for bias, which was inflamed by former President Donald Trump’s repeated attacks of it being a “fake newspaper” and practicing “bad journalism.”

Reaction on twitter has been mixed, with expressing the view that as much as they loathe the New York Times, they do not believe in blocking. Even without blocking, the associated website blocknyt.com is informative. It features articles on NY Times abuses of power, retractions, and errors of omission in reporting the news. And the site uses a masthead that looks just like the NY Times itself. For which it may well get sued .

The New York Times did not immediately respond to the Washington Examiner’s request for comment

New Israeli drug cured 29 of 30 moderate/serious COVID cases in days

A new coronavirus treatment being developed at Tel Aviv’s Ichilov Medical Center has successfully completed phase 1 trials and appears to have helped numerous moderate-to-serious cases of COVID-19 quickly recover from the disease, the hospital said Friday.

Hailing a “huge breakthrough,” the hospital said Prof. Nadir Arber’s EXO-CD24 substance had been administered to 30 patients whose conditions were moderate or worse, and all 30 recovered — 29 of them within three to five days.

The medicine fights the cytokine storm — a potentially lethal immune overreaction to the coronavirus infection that is believed to be responsible for much of the deaths associated with the disease.

It uses exosomes — tiny carrier sacs that shuttle materials between cells — to deliver a protein called CD24 to the lungs, which Arber has spent decades researching.

“This protein is located on the surface of cells and has a well known and important role in regulating the immune system,” said researcher Shiran Shapira of Arber’s lab.

The protein helps calm down the immune system and curb the storm.

“The preparation is inhaled once a day for a few minutes, for five days,” Arber said. “The preparation is directed straight to the heart of the storm — the lungs — so unlike other formulas… which selectively restrain a certain cytokine, or operate widely but cause many serious side effects, EXO-CD24 is administered locally, works broadly and without side effects.”

The medicine will now move on to further trial phases, but hospital officials were already hailing it as a possible game-changer in fighting serious COVID-19 illness.

Ichilov director Roni Gamzu, the former coronavirus czar, said the research “is advanced and sophisticated and may save coronavirus patients. The results of the phase 1 trial are excellent and give us all confidence in the method [Arber] has been researching in his lab for many years.”

He added: “I am proud that at Ichilov we are… possibly bringing a blue and white remedy to a terrible global pandemic.”

Divorcing In COVID

by  Miriam Miedzinski

I am sure many couples are separated, or even getting divorced as a result of the the many stresses that the coronavirus came along with.

There must also be the fair few who got divorced during the pandemic, having initiated the process before the pandemic took over the world.

I am one of those who found myself standing in a court room with a judge far away from me, wearing a mask.

I found myself looking at my now ex husband in the eyes, literally, as that was all I could see with most of his face covered by a mask as we parted ways.

We finished the legal dealings and walked out of the room.  Squirt, squirt, we doused our hands in hand sanitizer, and headed out the building.

It was weird.  I mean it would have been no matter what, but it felt extra weird.
