Israel "Chaps Arein" Before Biden’s Term and Approves 108 New Housing Units in Ramat Shlomo

The Jerusalem Municipality approved the construction of 108 new housing units in the “east Jerusalem” neighborhood of Ramat Shlomo, Kan News reported on Thursday.

The Kan report said that the construction plans will be swiftly advanced “hopefully before the inauguration of U.S. President-elect Joe Biden.”

The announcement is fraught with symbolism as during a visit of then vice-president Joe Biden to Israel in 2010, an announcement of 1,600 new housing units in Ramat Shlomo caused a major crisis in relations between Israel and the Obama administration.

According to a Haaretz report, officials in the Jerusalem Municipality and the Israel Land Authority were asked to advance construction plans in neighborhoods in the city that are beyond the Green Line – before Biden’s inauguration on January 20.

Ramat Shlomo is actually north of Jerusalem but is situated across the “Green Line.”

Pennsylvania Judge Rules For Trump Invalidating Ballots Received After Nov 9

A Pennsylvania judge ruled in favor of the Trump campaign Thursday, overturning a decision by the Secretary of State that allowed voters 3 extra days to provide proof of identification.

According to state law, voters have up to 6 days after election day to resolve identification issues if needed. This came out to November 9 this year.

Following the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruling that mail-in ballots may be accepted for an additional three days after Election Day, Pennsylvania Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar extended the deadline for resolving proof of identification issues for additional 3 days as well, which comes out to today, November 12.

However, Judge Mary Hannah Leavitt ruled on Thursday that Boockvar did not possess the statutory authority to extend that deadline, thereby invalidating ballots that arrived between November 9 and November 12.

“[T]he Court concludes that Respondent Kathy Boockvar, in her official capacity as Secretary of the Commonwealth, lacked statutory authority to issue the November 1, 2020, guidance to Respondents County Boards of Elections insofar as that guidance purported to change the deadline … for certain electors to verify proof of identification,” Judge Mary Hannah Leavitt said in a court order.

Leavitt’s decision matches the argument put forth by the Trump campaign, that the move had no basis in Pennsylvania state law, and was therefore unconstitutional.

The court had previously ordered that all ballots arriving between November 9 and November 12 should be segregated. Judge Leavitt’s ruling means that these ballots now may not be counted.

This legal challenge is one of a slew of challenges the Trump campaign intends to bring in Pennsylvania. On Friday, the campaign intends to challenge thousands of ballots already tallied in the state, on the basis that they were allegedly counted despite the fact that they were missing required information.

In addition, the Supreme Court has yet to issue a ruling on whether the three-day extension issued by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court for accepting mail-in ballots was valid or not.

Trump Will Make COVID-19 Vaccine Free At Major Pharmacies

Federal health officials have reached an agreement with pharmacies across the U.S. to distribute free coronavirus vaccines after they are approved and become available to the public.

The goal eventually is to make getting a COVID-19 vaccine like getting a flu shot.

Thursday’s agreement with major chain drug stores, grocery market pharmacies and other chains and networks covers about 3 in 5 pharmacies in all 50 states and U.S. territories such as Puerto Rico. It looks ahead to a time next spring when yet-to-be-approved vaccines will start to become available beyond priority groups such as health care workers and nursing home residents.

“The vast majority of Americans live within five miles of a pharmacy,” said Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, calling the agreement “a critical step toward making sure all Americans have access to safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines when they are available.”

Supreme Court Sides With Trump Will Not Allow Wisconsin's Ballot Deadline Extension

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday rejected Democrats’ efforts in Wisconsin to allow state election officials to accept mail-in ballots that arrive later than Nov. 3.

The ruling

The high court ruled 5-3 against reinstating an order by a lower court that would have allowed officials to count mail-in and absentee ballots even if they arrived up to six days after Election Day but were postmarked by Nov. 3.

Progressive justices Elena Kagan, Sonia Sotomayor, and Stephen Breyer opposed the decision.

Wisconsin is one of about 30 states that require a mail-in or absentee ballot to arrive by Nov. 3 in order to be counted.

Democrats in the state have argued extending the period by which ballots are received was necessary due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This is aligned with a previous ruling by a federal district judge who decided the Nov. 3 deadline violated Wisconsin voters’ rights amid the pandemic and ruled to extend the deadline by six days.

But a federal appeals court in Chicago blocked the judge’s order, arguing it violated a precedent set by the Supreme Court that prohibits changing election rules so close to an election, CBS News reported.

The decision comes about a week after the Supreme Court agreed with the ruling of a Pennsylvania state court to extend the deadline for accepting ballots in the state by three days.

In an opinion Monday, Chief Justice John Roberts explained the decision, saying that unlike the Pennsylvania order, the Wisconsin order concerns a lower federal court, not a state court.

“While the Pennsylvania applications implicated the authority of state courts to apply their own constitutions to election regulations, this case involves federal intrusion on state lawmaking processes. Different bodies of law and different precedents govern these two situations and require, in these particular circumstances, that we allow the modification of election rules in Pennsylvania but not Wisconsin,” Roberts wrote.

Despite Covid-19 Pandemic, UN’s World Health Organization Spends Four Hours Bashing Israel

Despite a ongoing global pandemic that has taken over a million lives, the United Nations’ World Health Organization (WHO) took time on Thursday to condemn Israel.

The group’s annual assembly held a four-hour session in which 30 representatives of countries such as Syria, North Korea, and Iran blasted Israel for supposedly violating the health rights of Palestinians and Syrians.

The assembly then adopted a resolution condemning Israel and pledging to prepare a report on the Jewish state’s supposed misdeeds.

Among the nations that attacked Israel at the session was Iran, which accused it of conducting an “inhuman blockade” of the Gaza Strip that had a “profound impact on the health sector.”

Countries voting in favor of the resolution included, among others, France, India, Ireland and Spain.

Israel, the US, the UK, Australia, Brazil, Canada, the Czech Republic, Germany, Honduras and Hungary all voted against it.

Hillel Neuer — executive director of the Geneva-based NGO UN Watch — called the proceedings a “cynical politicization of the world’s top health agency at the expense of focusing on the COVID-19 pandemic and other vital global health priorities and emergencies.”

Neuer said the charges made against Israel at the session were untrue, pointing out, “Despite the conflict, Israel grants entry to tens of thousands of Palestinians who receive top-level medical care at Israeli hospitals. Even the UN’s own Middle East peace envoy hailed Israel’s ‘excellent’ coordination and cooperation with Palestinians amid the coronavirus pandemic.”

Trump Plans to Establish Brand New Network Which Will Wreck Fox News'

Trump is eyeing the establishment of a digital media company, Axios reported.

Sources cited by Axios said that Trump was enraged by the election coverage of Fox, which is presumed to be more conservative than other outlets, and “plans to wreck” the news company.

Fox made an early call for Biden in Arizona, even though the current count in the state still finds the candidates neck and neck.

"He plans to wreck Fox. No doubt about it," a source said to have detailed knowledge of Trump's intentions claimed, according to the report.

Earlier this week, sources told Newsmax that Fox News' Justice with Judge Jeanine, hosted by former New York State judge Jeanine Pirro, was suspended over a spat on the network's coverage of President Donald Trump.

Sources close to the network told Newsmax that because Pirro defended President Trump and "wanted to expose the vote fraud that took place in the election", Fox News decided not to air her show. It had extended coverage of Democrat Joe Biden's acceptance speech of the contested election.

The sources gave no inclination of whether the network is going to keep the show going, but Newsmax says she was suspended at least for this weekend.
