‘Shtisel’ The Popular Israeli Drama on Netflix!

The Netflix show “Shtisel” is addictive to many viewers, as the phenomenally popular Israeli drama about a Charedi family living in the Geulah neighborhood of Jerusalem immediately draws you into the characters’ lives.
They include the 60-something Reb Shulem Shtisel, the widowed classroom rabbi; his daughter, Giti, whose nefarious husband has run off to Argentina, abandoning her and their five children; and Shulem’s youngest child, handsome 27-year-old Rabbi Akiva, or “Kive,” hiding the sketchbook filled with his outstanding illustrations, knowing that pursuing a career as an artist would be scandalous.
Developed by Abot Hameiri Productions for the Israeli satellite service yes, the show originally was broadcast in Israel in 2013. Over its two seasons, it racked up more than a dozen Israeli TV awards.
The success of the show that trains its camera on a little-known world is due, in part, to the show’s creators having lived this life. Yehonatan Indursky grew up in a Charedi family and attended the Ponevezh Yeshiva in Bnei Brak, while Ori Elon attended a yeshiva in Efrat.

Some 500 protesters physically blocked the light rail tracks and several roads in the capital, while shouting insults at police officers and calling them Nazis.
“The draft is religious persecution,” “we’ll die and won’t join the army,” “to prison but never to the army,” called the protesters.
Police forces were using crowd dispersal methods in an attempt to reopen main roads in the capital.
The protesters belong to the extreme Jerusalem Faction that refuses to acknowledge the state’s authority, and refuse to show up at the IDF draft facility even for the purpose of getting their exemption.
The faction’s leaders called on their followers to take to the streets after a draft dodger was arrested.
However, in light of the upcoming elections, another motive could be distinguishing the Jerusalem Faction from the mainstream Haredi public, represented in the Knesset by the Shas and the United Torah Judaism parties, who the extremists believe to be collaborators with draft laws.
In reality, Yeshiva students do not get arrested for their refusal to join the IDF— since the draft law allows them to continue their studies and avoid the draft. However, since the faction’s followers refuse to show up for exemption hearings, the IDF considers them to be draft dodgers and eventually some get arrested.

A young teenager was killed yesterday when he crashed while driving his motorcycle.
The young boy, identified as Shmuel Aizik Magen from a Breslover family, was returning from a trip to Kever Rochel when he lost control of his bike and crashed.

They first went to meet the anti-Semite Rep Ilhan Omar, but she refused to meet them saying according to NBC, that Ilhan “did not and has no plans to” meet with her uninvited guests.
She apparently hates them too because at the end of the day.... Omar considers them Jews ....
Snubbed like the losers that are, they went to try to meet the other Jew hating Arab, Rep Rashida Tlaib' ... where again they were told to basically "go to hell!"
But there in the office they met up with Ariel Gold who happened to be in Rashida Tlaib's office because she is a "Code Pink" activist and was in Tlaib's office to help her double down on Rep Omar's hateful anti-Israel rhetoric!
And it was Ariel Gold that was in that picture and tweeted the photo with the smelly Jewish savages, but later when she found out who they were, she deleted the tweet ...but the Neturei Karta guys were thrilled to be in close proximity with the "Voluptuous" Klavteh!!

Though Eliott Engel, whose district has a majority of Jews and represents Holocaust survivors, is basically a two bit coward..... and he decided to keep an anti-American who continues to spew hatred and vile comments about Jews, only because she is also anti-Trump!

Ilhan Omar will keep her place on the House Foreign Affairs Committee despite calls she should step down for making what has been described as anti-Semitic comments.
Minnesota Rep. Omar has come under fire for raising the issue of powerful pro-Israel lobby groups in Washington and linking their influence to donations.
At a public event in Washington last week Omar said she wanted to discuss 'the political influence in this country that says it is okay to push for allegiance to a foreign country'.
The Muslim Democrat lawmaker, who came to America in 1991 as a Somali child refugee, then said supporting Israel was not a pre-requisite for serving in Congress.
Omar also faced increasing backlash after suggesting Republican support for Israel is fueled by donations from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), a prominent pro-Israel group.
House Foreign Affairs Committee chairman Eliot Engel, a Jewish New Yorker, said last Friday that Omar should apologize for her 'vile anti-Semitic slur', which was said to have fed into the stereotype of Jews first allegiances being to Israel rather than the U.S.
President Trump even waded into the debate, calling her comments a 'dark day for Israel'.
He wrote on Twitter on Monday night: 'Representative Ilhan Omar is again under fire for her terrible comments concerning Israel. Jewish groups have just sent a petition to Speaker Pelosi asking her to remove Omar from Foreign Relations Committee. A dark day for Israel!'
But it was announced she will keep her position on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
