HOW SATMAR BRAINWASHES THEIR STUDENTS ...... VIDEO

NEW FEATURE ON DIN .... DAF YOIME SNIPPETS >>> SO THAT DIN READERS COULD SOUND LIKE TALMIDEI CHACHUMIM

I know that DIN followers are smart and I decided to make you smarter...
Even the women are encouraged to learn these little snippets ... so that they can question their husbands who say they are off to learn the daf .... and who knows where they really are!

Father's can quote from  these "snippets" to their children at the Shabbos table, and the children can then ask questions and share in  their parent's learning..

The Talmud is called the "Yam Ha'Talmud" "The Talmud Ocean" because the Talmud is basically an ocean of ideas, halachic analysis, biblical law, oral law, rabbinical decrees, historic info, stories, and parables.
There is no shallow waters .... you must dive right into the depth of the ocean ....

I will try to make it very brief and interesting ..... so that when the bigshot in shul talks about the Daf .... you won't feel like a blithering idiot, and will be able to go head to head with this arrogant "daf learner."

But to follow my understanding of the daf, you must have at least an elementary understanding of the Chumasah and Mishnah ....
But if you don't ... you still may find it interesting.
For others, you may be inspired and encouraged to one day open a page of the Talmud and even better, to join a daf group!

For those actually learning the daf, you may actually learn something you didn't know or it may act as review of parts of the daf I  highlight that you already learned...

I will use translations and commentaries found in the Hebrew "Mesivtah Edition" the Hebrew Artscroll Editions and the English Artscroll Editions!

This will appear weekly .... hopefully ...

We are presently learning Tractate Menachois .... the Talmud is discussing sacrifices that were performed in the Temple.

I will dive right into Daf 58 ... (page 58)

"The Doves that were placed upon the baskets of Bikkurim"
The word bikkurim comes from the word bechor ... firstborn ...
so bikkurim are the first fruits that appear ...
A farmer goes out to his orchard and notices that some of the fruits of the tree have begun to sprout, he proceeds to take a ribbon and ties those fruits that have begun to sprout and pronounces "these will be bikkurim."
When these "tied" fruits have ripened and ready to eat, he cuts them off and puts them into a basket and brings them to Jerusalem to give to the Kohanim
The Talmud mentions that those farmers that brought these first fruits would place doves on top of the basket that contained those fruits ..... to make those fruits look pretty and beautiful and to show appreciation to Hashem for the good bounty.
The Talmud says that these doves were than sacrificed as an Olah!

The Talmud adds that these farmers brought additional doves that weren't in the basket, and these doves were given to the Kohanim as a gift !
* it should be noted that there was no obligation for the farmers to bring the doves to begin with .... but once there were brought then the above mentioned procedure had to take place ...

Rashi cites a Mishna in Bikkurim (2:4) that does require the bringing of an accompanying offering with the bikkurim but not necessarily doves!

Just SEVEN calories too many a day 'is all it takes to get fat' - the equivalent of one sachet of ketchup

Think twice before you squeeze that sachet of tomato ketchup on to your chips – the little indulgence may be enough to make you fat.
A leading doctor warns that consuming a few as seven extra calories – which he says amounts to a small serving of ketchup – each day will slowly build up and eventually put inches on your waistline.

Israeli Left Going Nuts After Campaign Sign Warns Jews of Assimilation

The campaign of the Jewish Home list for the Ramle city council raised a storm and harsh reactions from the left.

As part of the campaign, posters were distributed on billboards throughout the city of Ramle, warning against mixed marriages between Arabs and Jews.

The ads included a picture of a hijab-clad woman with Sabbath candles and kiddush wine behind her. The caption reads,
"Hundreds of cases of assimilation in Ramle and nobody cares, tomorrow it could be your daughter."

Following the publication of the campaign, the Meretz Party announced that it had submitted a petition to the Central Elections Committee demanding the removal of the campaign.

According to Meretz Chairman MK Tamar Zandberg, "the shameful campaign of the Jewish home in Ramle is an escalation of the spread of racism and hatred."

"It appears that on the right, the battle over who will be more radical and racist will not end soon," she added. "Therefore, today we submitted a request to the Elections Committee to end this madness and order the campaign to stop."

The Jewish Home Party said in response: "The party's position on assimilation is clear: The Jewish people must preserve its national character and preserve its tradition, religion, culture and heritage."

Stormy Daniels' defamation lawsuit against Trump ...but NYT Buries This News Item on Page 47

A federal judge has dismissed adult film star Stormy Daniels' defamation lawsuit against President Donald Trump.
Daniels sued Trump after he said in a tweet that her story of a man threatening her not to come forward with her story of her alleged affair with Trump was "a total con job."
Daniels argued Trump's tweet, posted April 18, "attacks the veracity of her account" of the incident and that Trump's statement was "false and defamatory, and that the tweet was defamation ... because it charged her with committing a serious crime," District Judge S. James Otero wrote in his opinion Monday.
Trump had asked Otero to dismiss the lawsuit.
"The Court agrees with Mr. Trump's argument because the tweet in question constitutes 'rhetorical hyperbole' normally associated with politics and public discourse in the United States. The First Amendment protects this type of rhetorical statement," Otero wrote.

Jew Beaten in Crown Heights by a Black Guy

A Jewish man was violently assaulted in an unprovoked attack while crossing a street in Crown Heights on Monday afternoon.
The incident occurred at around 3:50pm at the intersection of Empire Boulevard and Albany Avenue.

The victim was accosted as he was crossing the street by a black teenager carrying a wooden stick. When the victim realized he was about to be assaulted he attempted to flee.
The victim ran into the nearby dry cleaner,  owned by R’ Shloime Junik, whose son tried opening the door to provide shelter to the victim, though not fast enough. The attacker managed to swing and strike the victim over his back and shoulder causing the stick to break in half. The perpetrator then threw the second piece into the store, striking both the victim and another bystander and causing further injuries.
Attempting the flee, the suspect ran down Albany Avenue into Lefferts park with multiple witnesses chasing after him. Both Shomrim and police were called and the suspect was apprehended, police arrived a short while later and arrested the suspect.
Much to the shock of the people observing the suspect being arrested, officers said that he had just been released less than 30 minutes earlier after he was caught shoplifting from a bodega on Rutland Road and Albany Avenue. He was released on a desk appearance ticket for that crime.
After his arrest the suspect was charged with felony assault, menacing, harassment, criminal possession of a weapon as well as a hate crime.
