In the aftermath of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent address to Congress, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has provided clarity on his decision not to shake hands with Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Speaking on Face The Nation, Schumer emphasized the unshakeable bond between the United States and Israel. “I went to this speech because the relationship between Israel and America is ironclad, and I wanted to show that,” Schumer stated. “But at the same time, as everyone knows, I have serious disagreements with the way Benjamin Netanyahu has conducted these policies.”
The senator further elaborated on his decision to extend the invitation to Netanyahu, despite these differences. “I have no regrets about inviting Netanyahu because the U.S. commitment to Israel transcends any one prime minister,” Schumer
