'Kill everything that is outside!': Dramatic moment Israeli commander calls for help as IDF armoured vehicle is hit by rockets and machine gun fire in deadly Hamas ambush

This is the dramatic moment an Israeli commander calls for help as his armored vehicle is hit by rockets and machine gun fire in a deadly Hamas ambush.

A squad of Israeli armored personnel carriers were ambushed by Hamas terrorists who emerged from their tunnels and fired rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) at the vehicles and tried to attach explosives.

But the Israelis called in air strikes and artillery, as well as reinforcements against the attackers and although they sustained injuries, survived.

One video from inside one of the 63-tonne APCs shows the sweat glistening on one of the crewmen's face as the gunfire outside can clearly be heard.

Video and audio footage released by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) show the men from the elite Golani Brigade coming under fire from Hamas terrorists after being ambushed, and calling on the radio for suppressing fire from other tanks or possibly aerial drones.

Speaking from inside a 'Namer' (Leopard) armored personnel carrier, which carries three crew and nine infantry soldiers, the officer urgently requests: 'We need you guys to come towards us, and kill everything that is outside the armored vehicles.'

The officer under fire, Lt Col Tomer, commanding the brigade's Battalion 13, tells his brigade commanding officer, Colonel Peli that his unit has suffered injuries from missiles.

He adds: 'We are doing our best, and we are at war now, we are surviving here and need your help, Over.'

The full audio track continues: 'Peli, this is Tomer , we are on the road that is South to ___ , We had a significant attack on us with missiles and terrorists coming at us, we have Injured men, hard to tell how many,

'I need some suppressing fire to help us deflect the terrorists,

'It looks like the situation is calming down a bit, but we still need you guys to come towards us, and kill everything that is outside the armored vehicles, we are also getting machine gun fire on our vehicles.'

Perhaps not wanting to alarm his men, he adds: 'It's all good, the main thing is to purge this terrorist nest that is here. We are doing our best, and we are at war now, we are surviving here and need your help, over.

Peli replies to Tomer : 'First of all great, you are relaxed and you are working in an excellent way.'

Tomer responds: 'Great, and I repeat - it looks like things are calming down here, most terrorists are dead, the attacks on us are slowing down,

'We are feeling confident, please keep moving towards us and give fire to everything that is west and east of our Route, on the south of ___in a few minutes it will be over and we can even set on our mission in the morning.'

Later, in a video, Col Tomer tells the camera: 'When we came to a halt, Hamas terrorists jumped out of the tunnels and surrounded us.

'They hit us with RPGs and tried to approach the Namers to fix explosives on them.

'Thanks to our quick reactions, we were able to kill some of them and push the others back, using aerial fire, artillery and mortars, and we stormed at them with the armored vehicles.

'The result is they are dead, and we continue our ground war until victory.'

And in an even more upbeat clip, a lieutenant N , from the same unit tells the camera: 'We have finished a night of combat and were caught in an ambush, fought with dozens of terrorists and killed them. We have almost no injured soldiers.

'We had a good battle, the spirit and morale is good, and we are getting ready for the next battle.. until victory.'

How many more battles these men will face and what victory will look like, only time will tell.
