Despicable Chareidi Journalist Praises Deaths of IDF Kedoishim

The dog .. Yisrael Frey

Israeli police have opened a criminal investigation into the Charedie  journalist Yisrael Frey following a social media post in which he celebrated the deaths of five IDF soldiers and called on Israeli mothers to oppose the war in Gaza.

“The world is a better place this morning, without five young men who partook in one of the most brutal crimes against humanity,” Frey wrote on X early Monday. He went on to reference suffering in Gaza, writing: “Unfortunately, for the boy in Gaza now being operated on without anesthesia; the girl starving to death and the family huddling in a tent under bombardment — this is not enough.”

In a message to Israeli mothers, Frey added: “Do not be the next to receive your son in a coffin as a war criminal. Refuse.”

The post drew widespread condemnation from across the political spectrum. While right-wing lawmakers and activists denounced Frey’s comments as incitement and treasonous, even left-wing critics of the war distanced themselves from his remarks, with some accusing him of glorifying death and undermining legitimate anti-war advocacy.

By Monday afternoon, police had formally requested authorization from the State Attorney’s Office to open a criminal probe into Frey on suspicion of incitement. The request was approved, and a joint investigation is now underway by the police’s Investigations and Intelligence Division and an anti-incitement unit operating under the National Security Ministry.

In a joint statement, police and the ministry vowed to take a hard line. “We will continue to act in accordance with the policy of Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and Police Commissioner Danny Levy, and take a firm and uncompromising approach against anyone who gives voice to incitement or support for the enemy,” the statement read.

Done with "Lace Sheitlach" & Smart Phones Now NO CHULET EXCEPT FOR SHABBOS!

DIN: Yes you read the headline right! It's not a Joke!!!!

This story comes in a very bad time as a young soldier who lives around the corner from my home, Moshe Shmuel Null hy"d, was murdered by Hamas, and in a couple of minutes, I'll be heading to the funeral!

New widows, new orphans, grieving parents and siblings, and the Chareide leadership shows that it is totally disconnected and aloof to what is going around them, and instead puts out a psak against eating chulent during the week, and drags the likes of the Yam shel Shlomo, Chasam Sofer , the Ari z"l into this quagmire!

I'm going to stay away from the validity of the stories, which I think someone made up. Rav Zilberstein says that the Yam Shel Shlomo writes that  "it is preferable not to eat fish on Friday Night, so that one can enjoy them during the Shabbas meal," and from this Yam Shel Shlomo, Rav Zilberstein prohibits chulent on Thursday night, through a "Kal Ve'chomer"?? ....

He further writes that the Baal Shem Tov (who grew up as a hungry orphan,) chastised a little child because he was eating  “eggs with onions” (ei mit tzvibel), during the week, to which he supposedly told the child, “Jewish children eat that only on Shabbat.”

Anyone believing this story needs their head examined!

In a bizarre twist, Rav Zilberstein adds that "Chulent" is not healthy!

I don't know where he gets this, as any nutritionist will tell you that "Chulent" without fat is one of the healthiest foods! It is loaded with vitamins! Beans, Barley, Potatoes etc!

It is the theatre of the absurd!

What about "Challah?" Specifically made for Shabbos! So now we shouldn't be serving this at a wedding or a bar-mitzvah?

In the “Divrei Chemed” bulletin, a fascinating halachic ruling was published, especially relevant for yeshiva students and the general public, regarding eating cholent on Thursday night. According to the posek Rabbi Yitzchak Zilberstein, doing so undermines the honor due to the Shabbat morning meal.

A number of yeshiva students sent a question to Rabbi Zilberstein, writing as follows:

“It is well known that there is a significant value in eating chamin (cholent) on Shabbat Kodesh. Throughout the years, it was a special dish eaten specifically at the Shabbat morning meal, and many would fulfill the mitzvah of ‘Toameha chaim zachu’ (‘Those who taste [Shabbat early] merit life’) by tasting this delicacy on Friday.”

They continued:

“However, recently, many have begun to be machmir in tasting this dish already on Thursday night, to the point where some now prepare this dish in large pots specifically for Thursday night—not just to taste a bit of Shabbat food, but to indulge themselves on Thursday night. And some even go so far as to eat it on Thursday during the day or throughout the week.”

“Our question is: Is there anything inappropriate in the fact that a dish originally created for Shabbat is now being eaten on weekdays? Or is there no fault in this? And is it considered an act of piety to refrain from eating a dish that, throughout generations, was reserved for Shabbat Kodesh, and continue to eat it exclusively on Shabbat, and not during the week?”

Rabbi Yitzchak Zilberstein, who regularly receives interesting and complex halachic queries due to his broad and deep knowledge, responded with the following explanation:

“There is great importance in honoring and distinguishing Shabbat with special foods, and weekday meals should not resemble those of Shabbat.”

Among the sources cited by the rabbi are: Midrash Tanchuma (Parshat Bereishit, Siman 2), Tikkunei Zohar (Tikkun 21 and Tikkun 48),Ramban (Leviticus 23:2), Radak (Isaiah 58:13)

He further cited the Yam Shel Shlomo (Gittin 38b), who rules:

“It is preferable not to eat fish on Friday night, so that one can enjoy them during the Shabbat day meal—since ‘honor of the day is greater than that of the night.’ From this we learn a kal vachomer: If one should refrain from eating a beloved dish on Friday night to honor the daytime meal, all the more so one should refrain from eating such dishes on weekdays in order to honor Shabbat properly.”

Rabbi Zilberstein also brings testimonies from various sages:

The Arizal was very strict not to prepare any dish during the week that was customary for Shabbat, such as kugels and the like.

A story about the Baal Shem Tov: He was once hosted and served a meal while a child stood nearby eating “eggs with onions” (ei mit tzvibel), to which he told the child “Jewish children eat that only on Shabbat.”

A similar story about the Chasam Sofer, who was once served tzimmes during the week and refused it, saying: “That’s a Shabbat dish,” adding in Yiddish: “A Shabbos-essen est men nikst in der vokh” – “Shabbat food is not eaten during the week.”

Rabbi Zilberstein further emphasized:

“Especially with cholent, a dish originally created specifically to honor Shabbat—so that people could eat hot food on Shabbat morning. As the Ba’al HaMaor (Shabbat 16b) wrote: ‘Our Sages instituted eating chamin (hot food) to delight in Shabbat, and anyone who doesn’t eat chamin should be checked to see if he is a heretic or an unbeliever.’”

He added another interesting point:

“In previous generations, some were concerned about eating cholent due to health issues, but as the Bnei Yissaschar (Ma’amarei HaShabbatot, Ma’amar 3) writes, ‘On Shabbat there is no need to worry, for the holiness of Shabbat brings blessing into the food.’ Likewise, the Mishnah Berurah writes that ‘one who keeps a mitzvah will know no evil.’ But this protection applies only on Shabbat—not on weekdays.”

In conclusion, Rabbi Zilberstein wrote:

“Cholent is a dish that was specifically created for Shabbat, and therefore it is very appropriate not to eat it during the week, so that one can properly delight in it on Shabbat. Especially since this dish is not particularly healthy, and it is only thanks to the sanctity of Shabbat that it becomes a blessing and a delicacy for the body. As the verse says, ‘He who observes a mitzvah shall know no evil.’”

Shas spiritual leader says deaths of 5 soldiers in Gaza may be due to yeshiva students’ neglect of Torah study

In an open letter to yeshiva students, former Sephardic chief rabbi and Shas spiritual leader Yitzhak Yosef asserts that the deaths of five IDF servicemen overnight in Gaza may have been caused by the students’ insufficient Torah study and calls on the Haredi community “to strengthen and grow stronger in Torah study.”

Yosef’s call comes as his faction prepares to go to the barricades against the government over its demand that those engaged in such study be exempted from shouldering the burden of military service.

Mourning the deaths of the “dear soldiers” who “gave their lives for the people of Israel” Yosef says that the Torah-observant community is “obligated to come to an account of why this trouble has come upon us, and perhaps it is nothing but the sin of neglecting the Torah.”

Four of those who fell in Gaza last night were members of the IDF’s ultra-Orthodox Netzah Yehuda battalion.

Yosef has been an outspoken opponent of efforts to conscript yeshiva students and, like many other prominent leaders of the Haredi community, has asserted that mass Torah study is vital to the national defense.

In May, he stated that if the government arrests ultra-Orthodox men for dodging the draft, then the community will be forced to leave Israel. Declaring that “our Torah protects the soldiers,” Yosef argued that Israel’s anti-missile defenses only succeeded in blocking attacks in the merit of yeshiva students’ studies. He has also later called Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee chair Yuli Edelstein “wicked” for demanding tough sanctions on yeshiva students who evade military service.

Controversial Carlson Interview

In a provocative new interview, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian sat down with American commentator Tucker Carlson, claiming that Israel—with backing from the United States—attempted to assassinate him. The accusation, aired without evidence, adds fuel to the already volatile relationship between Tehran, Washington, and Jerusalem.

The interview delved into Iran’s nuclear ambitions, U.S.-Iran diplomacy, and the regime’s worldview—but it was the platform itself that drew as much criticism as the content. Carlson’s decision to host Pezeshkian has ignited fierce backlash, especially from pro-Israel conservatives who once viewed Carlson as an ally.

Since his departure from Fox News, Carlson has increasingly distanced himself from traditional Republican orthodoxy, including on foreign policy. His perceived soft line on authoritarian regimes—from Russia to Iran—has alienated many in the GOP establishment, particularly those who view Israel as a vital U.S. ally.

To interview the president of Iran—at a time when Iran is actively funding terror proxies and refusing to halt its nuclear program—is seen by critics as lending legitimacy to a hostile regime. Carlson’s critics argue that he is veering into isolationist and even anti-Western territory, complicating his standing among Republicans and cementing his controversial status in the 2024 election discourse.

The Final Act of Jewish Resistance – Feinstein & Barazani

In April 1947, two young Jewish underground fighters — Meir Feinstein (Irgun) and Moshe Barazani (Lehi) — were sentenced to death by the British authorities in Mandatory Palestine. Feinstein, 19, was arrested after an Irgun bombing at the Jerusalem railway station. Though gravely wounded and missing an arm, he refused to betray his comrades.
Barazani, only 18, was caught with a grenade in hand on his way to assassinate a British officer. Both were sentenced to hang in the Russian Compound prison in Jerusalem. But they had no intention of walking to the gallows. The two men — from different underground groups — were placed in a shared cell. Over time, they forged a deep friendship and a united resolve: they would not allow the British to hang them. With the help of sympathetic contacts, including a brave Mizrahi rabbi who visited the prison regularly, two grenades were smuggled into their cell — hidden inside hollowed-out oranges. On the eve of their scheduled execution, they recited prayers together. Feinstein wrote a long letter to his family, describing his peace of mind and clarity of purpose. Then, sitting on the bed, Barazani placed the grenade between them. Feinstein held it tightly, wrapping his arm around his friend. They detonated the grenade in their own cell. They died by their own hands, not at the hands of the British. Free men to the end.

Starbucks to Remove Canola Oil from US Menu Amid Health Revamp

Starbucks plans to eliminate canola oil from its US food items, including reformulating popular snacks like egg white and roasted red pepper bites. The company will also introduce a new egg bite made with avocado oil. This change is part of a broader effort to attract health-conscious customers and reverse sales declines.

In June, Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol met with Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., committing to align menu offerings with the administration’s health priorities, which target seed oils like canola and soybean.

The Great Deception: Reuters, AP, NYT photos of Gaza hospital leave Hamas out of the frame

The analysis compared photos and videos taken on the same day and location by wire service photojournalists in Gaza.

By HonestReporting

At the outset of the Israel-Hamas war, Gaza photojournalists working for international media operated near Hamas terrorists in Shifa Hospital but excluded them from their photos, according to a visual analysis by HonestReporting.

The analysis, which reveals an alarming photo bias, focused on one day of coverage — October 11, 2023 — and showed that tens of Hamas terrorists were present at the hospital, where they kept a watchful eye over the media and managed the arrival of wounded into the emergency room.

The terrorists were clearly seen in wire service videos and social media posts from that day.

But they don’t appear in the still photos distributed by ReutersAP, or The New York Times, whose photojournalists at the site chose to leave the terrorists out of the frame and include only the wounded and dead.

Videos Vs. Photos

The analysis compared photos and videos taken on the same day and location by wire service photojournalists in Gaza. That’s because a picture may be worth a thousand words, but one can only see what’s inside the frame.

Videos, however, are dynamic. Video cameras can tilt and pan and reveal what’s outside the frame of a frozen still photo. It’s also harder to edit people out of videos.

Therefore, after we came across this Facebook reel from photojournalist Mariam Dagga (who currently works for AP), we decided to compare photos and videos of Shifa Hospital that were published by the mainstream media.

That’s because the reel shows the hospital entrance was infested with Hamas forces (circled in red on the video), while dozens of journalists stood by:

We found another angle of this video in a TRT X post, which clarified it had been taken on October 11, 2023 — several days after Hamas terrorists slaughtered 1,200 people in Israel and abducted hundreds into Gaza — some of them straight into the Shifa hospital, where the terror group had an underground tunnel infrastructure.

10 Lev Tahor Families Have Returned To Israel

The Knesset’s Immigration, Absorption, and Diaspora Committee on Sunday held another follow-up discussion on the government’s involvement in rescuing children from the Lev Tahor cult in Guatemala.

In recent months, Israel has been working with authorities in Guatemala to dismantle the sect. Many families from the sect have left for the United States and Canada. Today, it has become clear that many have also arrived in Israel.

During the discussion, information was presented indicating that there are approximately 10 Lev Tahor families with approximately 20 children under the age of 18 who have returned to Israel. All the children who have returned to Israel are in the care of at least one of their biological parents.

There is one family that is not cooperating with the government but is in contact with the municipal authorities in its city of residence.

IDF to launch sweeping enforcement operation in Charedi cities

Israeli security forces are preparing to implement an unprecedented enforcement plan against members of the haredi public who refuse to enlist.

As part of the new plan, which will be launched next month, checkpoints will be set up at entry points to major haredi cities, aiming to identify and arrest youths avoiding military service.

The plan follows the decision to send 54,000 draft orders to haredi youths in the coming year.

IDF security officials estimate that the vast majority of those receiving orders will choose not to report, leading to a dramatic increase in the number defined as deserters. The number is expected to spike from a few thousand today to tens of thousands within a year.

The plan includes a significant shortening of the process of classifying someone as a deserter. What was a process that took many months will be condensed to approximately two months. After this period, anyone who does not report to the draft offices will be considered a deserter and will be subject to arrest and criminal prosecution.

The new checkpoints will be positioned at several strategic locations: entrances to major haredi cities such as Bnei Brak, Jerusalem, and Beit Shemesh, main traffic routes used by the haredi population, and border crossings, including Ben Gurion Airport and checkpoints in Judea and Samaria.

In addition to the permanent checkpoints, mobile enforcement actions and targeted raids on religious institutions and residential areas will be carried out.

Security officials are aware of the logistical challenges they face. The military detention system can accommodate only about 300 detainees at a time, a negligible number compared to the potential tens of thousands of expected deserters.

Therefore, the plan focuses on selective enforcement and creating a deterrent effect, with the expectation that politicians will reinforce the operation with legislative sanctions against deserters.

Hebron Tribal Leaders Seek to Join Abraham Accords, Split from PA, Recognize Israel as Jewish State*_

According to a Wall Street Journal report, five prominent tribal sheikhs from Hebron are pushing to join the Abraham Accords, calling to replace the Palestinian Authority (PA) with their own leadership and expressing full recognition of Israel as a Jewish state.

“We want cooperation with Israel,” said Sheikh Wadi’ al-Ja’abari. “We want coexistence.”

Al-Ja’abari and four other sheikhs signed a formal letter committing to peace and full recognition of Israel. Their plan: for Hebron to separate from the Palestinian Authority, establish an autonomous emirate, and officially join the Abraham Accords.

The letter was addressed to Israeli Economy Minister Nir Barkat, former mayor of Jerusalem, who has met with the sheikhs more than ten times since February and hosted them at his home. They’ve asked Barkat to deliver the letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and are currently awaiting a response.

“The Hebron Emirate will recognize the State of Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish people,” the sheikhs write, “and Israel will recognize the Hebron Emirate as the representative of the Arab residents of the Hebron district.”

The letter proposes establishing a timeline for negotiations to join the Abraham Accords and replace the Oslo Accords, which they say led only to “harm, death, economic disaster, and destruction.” They argue that Oslo empowered a corrupt Palestinian Authority at the expense of “authentic and traditional leadership — the tribes.”

As part of their economic vision, the sheikhs are asking for permission for 1,000 Hebron residents to begin working in Israel, with the potential to expand to 5,000 and even 50,000 over time. Barkat reportedly told them that such a scale-up is possible. The letter promises “zero tolerance for terrorism by workers,” in contrast to the PA, which they note pays salaries to imprisoned attackers.

Minister Barkat says the traditional peace process has failed and believes “new thinking is needed.” He is advancing the plan with the knowledge of the Israeli government, and while Netanyahu has expressed cautious support, he is waiting to see how it develops.

Now that Sheikh al-Ja’abari has gone public, pressure is mounting.

The article emphasizes the longstanding ties between Hebron tribal leaders and the settler community, stating that settlers “will find much to embrace in the plan.” The sheikhs also note their cooperation with Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan, who confirmed he’s been working with them on the initiative.

“I first met Sheikh al-Ja’abari 13 years ago,” said Dagan. “His father was a brave leader who put his people first — and so does the son.”

BMG Roshei Yeshiva Join Protest Taking Place Outside Lakewood Police HQ Over Yungerman’s Arrest

A major demonstration is unfolding tonight outside the Lakewood Police Department headquarters, as hundreds of community members – including the BMG roshei yeshiva – rally in support of R’ Binyomin Kubani, a respected yungerman and father of eight who was arrested on Thursday under deeply troubling circumstances.

The arrest has sent shockwaves through the Lakewood kehilla, with many accusing the police of acting recklessly, ignoring basic investigative protocol, and increasingly showing disregard for the overwhelmingly Orthodox Jewish population of Lakewood — which comprises the vast majority of township residents.

The controversy began when R’ Binyomin, who learns in BMG, stopped at a Route 88 car wash with his child after discovering leftover meat had leaked in his van from the previous Shabbos. He hoped to hire a day worker — as is common practice across Lakewood — to help clean the carpets. According to multiple witnesses, he approached a 15-year-old Hispanic youth he had previously hired around Erev Pesach for a similar job. He asked if the boy wanted to come to his house later to clean the van.

Instead of agreeing, the boy took a picture of R’ Binyomin, flagged down a passing Lakewood patrol car, and claimed he had been “solicited.” Police immediately took the teen to headquarters for a statement, and, without interviewing R’ Binyomin or allowing him to present any explanation or evidence, arrested him and booked him into the Ocean County jail in Toms River. He remains held there, awaiting a court appearance that may only take place Tuesday.

Police in these situations typically interview both parties and attempt to establish a timeline of facts before making an arrest. Yet R’ Binyomin was denied the opportunity to make any statement or show supporting proof, even though he had an attorney present, sources told Lakewood Alerts.

Meanwhile, frustration with the Lakewood Police Department has erupted into public anger, with protestors now demanding accountability and even calling for high-level changes within the department. Chatter is intensifying about replacing the police chief and possibly other senior officers seen as having failed the township’s community.

Lakewood Alerts has confirmed through reliable sources that there is already discussion at the township level of a leadership shake-up at the department, as confidence in current command staff has cratered.

Lakewood Alerts previously reported that Police Chief Greg Meyer had recently suffered a health emergency while away on vacation and had to be flown back by emergency medical helicopter — a detail the department tried to keep under wraps.

Unilever Cuts Millions for Ben & Jerry’s Charity

Unilever, Ben & Jerry’s parent company, is cutting millions of dollars in funding for the Vermont-based ice cream chain’s foundation after the latter refused to turn over audit documents about donations to pro-Palestinian groups, Semafor reported.

The foundation trustees “have continued to resist basic oversight,” which “represents a marked departure from the norms of charitable organizations, for whom transparency is typically a bedrock operating principle,” Peter ter Kulve, a Unilever executive, wrote to Ben & Jerry’s executives.

The Ben & Jerry’s Foundation distributed “more than $5 million of Unilever’s money in 2022, mostly to progressive organizations, and has done so ever since the quirky, left-leaning Vermont creamery was acquired by the corporate giant in 2000,” according to the report.

“Since then, Ben & Jerry’s politics have been a headache for its parent, and the tensions between the two have grown more acute as the business community got swept into the culture wars, first pulled to the left in the mid-2010s, then retreating rightward under the second Trump administration,” Semafor added.

Ben & Jerry’s co-founder Ben Cohen has accused the Jewish state of “genocide,” and the ice-cream company said in 2021 that it wouldn’t sell its items in Judea and Samaria.
