The meeting turned into an embarrassing, colossal disaster!
The fatal meeting was supposed to impress the Ambassador that eligible boys learning Torah shouldn't have to be drafted, because their learning is far more important than saving lives....Jewish lives in, where????? In Eretz Yisrael!!
Shloimy ($$$) Werdiger didn't do his homework and had no clue that Ambassador Leiter's son, Moshe Yedidya hy"d, an IDF soldier, was murdered at the start of the war after entering Gaza on foot and walking into a Hamas booby trap!
According to the article below that appeared in Ami Magazine, when Rav Feldman, the anti-Zionist heard this, he "shed tears!"
The fact that they were all shocked to learn that Ambassador's very own child was an IDF soldier and was murdered "al kiddush Hashem" a fact that all who live in Israel know, shows the absolute disconnect and disinterest that Chareidim have to what is really going on in Israel, a Jewish country at war fighting for its very existence!
The clueless disconnected Rav Feldman never shed any tears for any IDF soldiers and not for Moshe Yedidye hy"d because doesn't know anyone who lost anyone in the war and never made it his business to meet any of them even though he is 6 months a year in Israel! This caught him off guard, because here he was face to face with a father whose son was murdered! This will not change his mind as his hatred for the State is so great that he will never relate to the pain of parents, the pain of widows and orphans and the pain of Klall Yisrael!

Just that you know, all meetings of an ambassador are written up and put out on the official website, but this meeting was אין קול ואין עונה! What is really bizarre is that this "tight-lipped" story never made it on the Agudah Website!
The article goes on to say that "those attending the meeting were tight-lipped about the proceedings!"
I'll tell you what happened at the meeting because I know someone who works on the Ambassador's staff in Washington DC, and you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure this out!
What happened was, that Shlome'le didn't do his homework and had no clue that the Ambassador had a child in the IDF and that he was murdered, a fact that every Jew who is concerned about Israel, knew!
The Ambassador, the gentleman that he is, listened politely and made small talk, and couldn't wait to get them out the door. The Roshei Yeshivas especially the "tear shedder" immediately saw that they marched into quick sand and everything after this devastating revelation about Moshe Yedidye hy"d, went downhill from there!
How do you tell the Ambassador who is mourning a child that was murdered because he was serving the Jewish people, that they want THEIR children to be safe and sound and that they the "learners" are more important then the IDF soldiers!

No one is "persecuting" Torah learners, but those eligible must enlist!

But on the other hand, I heard a rumor, not confirmed, that after reading in the Yated, what "Bekeshe Shloimy" threatened, Netanyahu grabbed his wife Sarah by her collar and ran to a bunker in Tel Aviv!
The Israeli Government supports Torah Institutions and has contributed in one year more than what Shloimie Bekeshe has given in his entire lifetime.
The Government last year alone granted Torah Institutions 800,000 Shekels!

IDF Derangement Syndrome. There are probably hundreds of bnei Torah including Rabbonim and Talmidei Chachamim who serve in yhe IDF as commanded by our Holy Torah and poskim in a Milchemes Mitzvah.
