Cover Up? Charedi newspaper photoshops masks onto picture of rabbis meeting

An ultra-Orthodox newspaper was exposed Friday for having photoshopped masks onto the faces of a group of rabbis who were holding an indoor meeting in violation of the government’s health guidelines.

The widely-read Hamodia newspaper affiliated, with the United Torah Judaism party, included the photo alongside an article about a meeting Rabbi Bezalel Simcha Menachem Benzion Rabinowitz held in his home where he and his followers discussed ways to encourage the ultra-Orthodox public to study Torah in marking the anniversary of Maimonides’ death.

The photo of Rabinowitz, known as the Rebbe of Biala, was printed in several other newspapers, but those outlets used the original version. Ultra-Orthodox journalist Moshe Weisberg noted the difference and posted photos of it on Twitter.

Leaders of the ultra-Orthodox have come under fire in recent months for setting a poor example for their followers by violating public health guidelines or encouraging them to do so.

Ultra-Orthodox papers have been criticized in the past for photoshopping pictures, most notably blurring out, or removing women from images.

The Health Ministry official overseeing action to counter the coronavirus among Israel’s ultra-Orthodox population revealed earlier this week that the community has recently accounted for over a quarter of all the new cases diagnosed, even though it makes up little more than a 10th of the total population.

This week saw several instances of mass weddings going ahead in the community.

A Brand New "Mikraos Gedolos" Published by Koren called "Mikraot HaDorot"

There are certain books that have served as the lynchpin of any Jewish library; a siddur and the Talmud are of course among them but, until now, generations of Torah commentaries have only been available in multiple volumes and many are yet to be translated into English.

Indeed, the most common anthology of commentaries, the classic Mikraot Gedolot, provides commentaries only of the Medieval Period (Rashi, Ibn Ezra, Rashbam, Ralbag Seforno, etc.) – just a small slice of the corpus of Jewish commentators and require a certain level of analytical skill to full grasp.

But now The Koren Mikraot HaDorot offers a broader scope of the commentaries spanning 2,000 years from the ancient times to modernity with an innovative layout and all new translation.

The Koren Mikraot HaDorot is slated to be a 48-volume series of the Humash that brings together two millennia of Torah commentary, from the Midrash and Onkelos to Rav Soloveitchik and Nehama Leibowitz, the series shows the breadth and depth of Jewish creativity and wisdom for the first time.

Rabbi Berkowitz breaks silence on abuse in community

These were the dumbfounded words of Mrs. S, a young mother of 2 living in the Ramat Eshkol neighborhood of Jerusalem. Mrs. S sends her son to a cheder in Sanhedria Murchevet, and was shocked to see video footage recently released by Rabbi Yizchok Berkowitz.

The security camera footage showed multiple cases of children being abducted and assaulted in the Sanhedria area, just a block away from Mrs. S’ son’s school. The videos were not released, of course, with the intention of ‘shock value.’ They have been shown to the public to highlight a community problem, and to highlight a solution. How the rabbanim came to discover this problem and begin to solve it is fascinating:

In 2018 the neighborhood of Sanhedria was overwhelmed by Friday night robberies. And so, several individuals, including Rabbi Yizchok Berkowitz, joined together to install security cameras on the street. What they saw was something far darker than robbery: Children were being picked up by pedophiles in broad daylight.

“Perhaps Hashem had sent us the burglaries, for the sake of being able to discover. Throughout the week, all sorts of individuals from outside the neighborhood are driving in and did awful things to children,” says Rabbi Berkowitz, in a direct video address. “We had absolutely no awareness of anything like this going on.”

Perhaps more surprising than the discovery of the assaults themselves was the fact that the cameras seemed to work. Awareness of the fact that the streets were being recorded caused a massive decrease in reported incidents. Those that did occur included evidence such as license plate numbers, and have led to arrests.

Unfortunately, the cameras are expensive to maintain, and funding them has been a community effort. Some months, the cameras have remained off. Rabbi Berkowitz, Rabbi Morgenstern, and Rabbi Soloveitchik have officially named their effort ‘Jerusalem Eye,’ and are raising money to keep the cameras on, increase the surveillance to further neighborhoods, and continue to keep the children of Jerusalem safe.

Heshy Tishler Comments on DC Capital Fiasco “If I was actually in the front I wouldn’t have stormed, I would have walked in the doors

Heshy Tischler, the pro-Trump provocateur of Orthodox Brooklyn, wasn’t at the U.S. capitol when a mob stormed it Wednesday — but not because he didn’t want to be.

Tischler was one of a throng of Orthodox Jews who traveled down to D.C. to join mass protests of the election results Wednesday. He had left the city before the protest turned into an insurrection that drove members of Congress and the vice president into hiding, and in which a woman was killed.

But that afternoon, unaware that his compatriots were now occupying the Senate chamber and its environs, he said that he, too, would like to take his complaint straight to the halls of Congress.

“We want to be there,” he told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency. “We just can’t get in.”

On his show Wednesday night, he condemned the violence, and said he would have handled the situation differently. “If I was actually in the front I wouldn’t have stormed, I would have walked in the doors,” he said.

Much of the Orthodox community had lined up behind Trump ahead of the election. Polls showed Orthodox voters supporting him by overwhelming margins. In the same week that mobs of young Orthodox men burned masks in the streets of Brooklyn in October, crowds of the young men carried Trump flags in their protests against lockdowns.

Appeals Court Backs Ruling That Orthodox-Dominated School Board In Monsey Was Not Properly Elected

So the Frummies in Rockland County have lost control of the School Board, meaning that Yeshivos and Frum Children with Special needs will get royally screwed.... bussing on Legal holidays will also be effected! It' all over folks..

A federal appeals court in New York affirmed that a voting method that elected a majority Orthodox Jewish school board in upstate East Ramapo violates the Voting Rights Act, Lohud.com reported.

Most of the Rockland County district’s public school students are minorities and most of the Orthodox children attend private schools.

A three-judge panel of the U.S. 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals endorsed a lower court ruling that said the district’s at-large voting method disenfranchised Black and Latino voters. The court backed a remedial plan to divide the district into nine wards, with each ward electing one board member.

New elections using the ward-based system for all nine seats will be held on Feb. 2.

Control of the East Ramapo school board has long been a source of tension between area Orthodox Jews, who have been active in running for and voting for board positions, and minority communities. Minority students in the public school are greatly outnumbered by the private school students who attend local yeshivas and benefit from busing and other services provided by the school district.

The case against the district was brought by the NAACP.

The appeals court panel said the school board, dominated by Orthodox Jews and their allies, proved to be “chronically unresponsive to public-school concerns.”

“Today’s ruling reaffirms what’s been clear all along: The white private school community hijacked East Ramapo’s school board and its elections,” said Donna Lieberman, the executive director of the New York Civil Liberties Union, which represented the NAACP in the case.

Chassidishe Trumper Gives His "Chochme" to Reporters at DC Rally

While marching on Pennsylvania Avenue on Wednesday, a Hasidic man from Monsey spoke to the media.

While draped in numerous Trump flags, the man told the cameras: “Make sure to fight. Because if we’re not gonna fight, It’s over”.

When asked about Trump’s speech delivered just before the violence started, he said “I heard him saying that we’re gonna fight back. We’re gonna take it back.”

His message to all Lawmakers: “They should all go home and resign. And leave us alone. We pay their taxes. We pay their salaries. And they don’t give us nothing. Go home! We have alot of people, young men and women that are ready to work for the country.”

“And me being from a minority group, I feel it for the last year. We have to wake up. If we don’t wake up today, you’re not gonna have a chance. It’s gonna be over.”

Have Charedie Leaders Failed Us Again?

The unorthodox blogger raises a very important point ... He states:

" Many Haredi leaders have failed this time, just like they failed in their attitude towards Zionism and the State of Israel, failed in their attitude towards women’s education, failed in not supporting the movement to free Soviet Jews and sadly, failed very often in their leadership during the Holocaust."

Oh oh ... once you open the bottle where the genie lives peacefully, you cannot put it him back in.
In fact he is right ...they did fail us with their attitude towards Zionism and the State of Israel ..
look at the State of Israel where close to six million BE"H live, where there is more Torah learned in the Zionist state than in anytime in Jewish history....a very well respected rabbi said in 1956 and then repeated it in June 1967, that he predicts that in 20 years from when he spoke, there would be no Torah institutions left in Israel, he also predicted that the Jews would be totally assimilated in the Arab populations...this is on tape and can be heard ..
How wrong  they were!

Yes they failed us in Women's education... do you know that the reason Sarah Schnerer started Bais Yaakov was because they were losing the girls to maskilim and Christianity? The Rabbis wouldn't allow girls to learn Torah etc .so they left Chareidie life.. Sarah had a very difficult time convincing the then Rabbanim to endorse her idea ... yes yes .. now they have re-written history and say that the Rabbanim were on board ..not true .... why weren't there any Torah schools for girls before Sarah Schnerer? Because they were against it .. they only joined when their own daughters left Judaism .. this is not the place to write about how daughters of Chassidic and Litvishe Rosh Yeshiva converted to Christianity and many joined the Maskilim ...at least those that joined the Zionist youth group were at least fighting for a Jewish cause ..

They failed us in the movement of Free Soviet Jews, in fact a famous Litvishe Poisek said that it was prohibited to go to the protests ... The Chassidishe Rabbanim were against any public protests against the Soviet Union ...in fact all those who were in-prisoned said when they got out, that it was the public protests that were effective... not one gave any credit to Chareidie leaders... all their work behind the scenes did absolutely nothing to help Soviet Jewry ... yes they sent packages .. but Satmar sent packages to Satmar leaning families and Chabad sent packages to Chabad families .. it's nice to get a package of matzos for pesach when you are living in behind the Iron country but it's far better to be free.
How wrong they were!

And of course they failed us during the Holocaust and some of them because of their utter hatred and contempt of the Zionists...... and it's too painful to even discuss...

and now they are failing us during this deadly pandemic ..

As of this morning the people speaking on behalf of R' Chaim Kanievski said that he said (I dont believe it for a second) that Schools should remain open during the "Seger" ... in fact the Israeli media is now reporting that PM Netanyahu was begging him to support the government at this crucial juncture ...
Why do we need to come to this..? WHY?

Chassidishe Rebbes Don't Care About People Dying ..Police Raid Two Huge Weddings In Beitar, Bnei Brak Amid Soaring Virus Rates

I am not going into the controversy whether masks work or not ...but what everyone agrees on is that crowds are the spreaders of this deadly covid....

And who are the ones dying... ? The majority are not Chilonim they are Chareidim ..that is a fact ...

So how does a Rebbe, a leader of thousands openly defy government and health regulations, and deliberately make a huge wedding indoors that will surely kill many of the aged and those with prior health conditions?

What is so important to bring thousands to a wedding?

Haven't we learned any lessons?

And even if you were to argue and say that it doesn't spread disease, what about the huge Chillul Hashem?  ...

Riots ensued in Beitar Illit, currently suffering from the highest virus infection rate in Israel, after Israel Police dispersed the participants of a huge wedding on Tuesday night.

The wedding for the son of the Toldos Avraham Yitzchak Rebbe, attended by hundreds of people, began late Tuesday afternoon. Neighbors called the police about the illegal gathering. The police arrived at the hall but were unable to enter because the door was locked.

The policemen left the scene and returned about an hour and a half later. Even then, instead of immediately stopping the wedding they entered the hall and tried convincing the participants to leave. Finally, police reinforcements arrived and began dispersing the wedding, which resulted in physical clashes and violence.

On Wednesday, the policemen who first arrived on the scene were dismissed from their posts.

The wedding in Bnei Brak of the Erlau Rebbe’s grandson was also attended by hundreds of participants and was held at a construction site that was illegal for gatherings due to safety concerns. Neighbors called the police who arrived at the scene and dispersed the participants.

Hypocritical ADL GreenCrap, Bashes GOP Congresswoman That Said, ‘Hitler Was Right On One Thing’

What a conniving disgusting Jewish bastard this Jonathan Greenblatt, CEO of the ADL is........

This little twerp that worked for Hussain Obama has the chutzpah to censure Mary Miller's remarks...

What she said is absolutely true .... Yes ... "Hitler was Right On One Thing." absolutely ...and I am a child of survivors ..

What did Miller actually say?

"Hitler was right on one thing: He said, whoever has the youth has the future."

What's wrong with that true statement?

Don't we quote the Nazi Goebbels all the time that said:'If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it?"...

What was untrue what she said?

I'll tell you why this mental midget is calling her out on it ..because the leftists use this motto of Hitler all the time....

They knew years ago that Hitler was right and so they packed the Universities with Professors that were Communists, Socialists and Anarchists .. and now the chickens are coming home to roost...

They are scared that the Republicans who have gotten a reawakening under the great President Trump will now use the tactics that the left always used and knew to be effective!

Rep. Mary Miller (R-Ill.), who was sworn into office on Jan. 3, told a crowd of protesters outside the Capitol on Tuesday that “Hitler was right on one thing.”

In front of a crowd of supporters of U.S. President Donald Trump, Miller said, “Hitler was right on one thing: He said, whoever has the youth has the future. Fill your children’s minds with what is true and right and noble, and then they can overcome evil with good because they can actually discern between what is evil and what is good.”

Margot McGowan Staebler, a law student at Michigan State University, posted the video on Twitter of the freshman congresswoman making the remark.

Ashli Babbitt Woman ID’d as Person Shot Dead inside Capitol was an Air Force veteran

The woman fatally shot inside the U.S. Capitol Wednesday has been identified as Ashli Babbitt, a friend confirms to Fox News. Babbitt was a 14-year veteran who served four tours with the Air Force and resided in San Diego, according to media reports.

Babbitt was a strong supporter of President Trump, her husband told WTTG-TV. Messages to him from Fox News were not returned.

"I really don’t know why she decided to do this," Babbitt's mother-in-law told the local Fox affiliate in D.C.

Babbitt's husband was not in D.C with her. The couple owned a business together, according to reports.

Authorities were in riot gear protecting the Capitol as the media and lawmakers returned to resume a joint session of Congress halted hours earlier when a mob breached security and stormed the building, resulting in the fatal shooting.

Known Antifa members posed as pro-Trump to infiltrate Capitol riot

At least two known Antifa members were spotted among the throngs of pro-Trump protesters at the Capitol on Wednesday, a law enforcement source told The Post.

The Antifa members disguised themselves with pro-Trump clothing to join in the D.C. rioting said the sources, who spotted the infiltrators while monitoring video coverage from the Capitol.

The infiltrators were recognized due to their participation in New York City demonstrations, and were believed to have joined in the rioting so that Trump would get blamed, the source said.

Two other D.C. protesters were actually Philadelphia-based Antifa members, The Washington Times reported Wednesday night, citing a retired military officer with access to facial recognition software.

Louis Shenker 22 Arrested In NYC Bomb Hoax

A self-described American nationalist suspected of leaving a hoax explosive device in a car at a New York City mall is facing criminal charges after turning himself in to police, authorities said Tuesday.

Louis Shenker, 22, will be charged with placing a false bomb, criminal possession of stolen property and abandonment of a disabled animal in connection with the episode Monday at the Queens Place Mall in Elmhurst, said detective Denise Moroney, a police spokesperson

The mall was evacuated around 7:30 a.m. Monday after a device that was made to look like an explosive was found in a black Tesla parked on a ramp in a parking garage. A dog — a husky — was also found in the vehicle, which had a Nevada license plate and had been reported stolen in that state.

Kamala Harris Recalls How As A Little Girl She Helped Slaves Escape On The "Undewgwound Wailwoad"

Kamala Harris chuckles as she tells the story. Not the chuckle of an insincere politician making up a story to appeal to her base, but the chuckle of a warm, loving woman. The kind of chuckle you would chuckle while hanging out with your family or locking up non-violent drug offenders for decades.

She recalled in her interview with The Babylon Bee how as a little girl she helped slaves escape to the North on the "undewgwound wailwoad." (Did we mention how warm and sincere she was? It was like talking to your best bud).

"My parents were pushing me in a stroller," she says, cackling -- no, chuckling -- "and I must have gotten loose somehow." (At the time, there weren't any safety regulations on strollers, so this is not her parents' fault, just to be clear). "Anyway, I wandered away down to the Deep South and began helping slaves get to the free states. When my parents found me years later, they were understandably upset. They said, 'Kamala! What are you doing!?'"

She chuckled again.

"I replied, 'I'm hewping swaves escape on da undewground wailwoad, mommy!'" Harris then revealed that one of the slaves she helped escape grew up to be none other than Albert Einstein.

Harris, with her likeable laugh and authentic demeanor, went on to tell the story of how she helped "Abwaham Winkon" draft the "Emancipation Pwocwamation" and how she refused to give up her seat on a bus, launching the "Civil wights" movement.

New Doubts Creep in About R' Chaim Kanievski

Yesterday two people arrived at the home of R' Chaim to ask his advise about the latest "lockdown"

One was Moshe Leon, the Mayor of Yerushalyim who asked if the Yeshivos should close during this new lockdown ... R' Chaim said "yes"

But when Harav Pinzal the principal of a Yeshiva in Yerushalyim asked the exact same question... R' Chaim answered that it should remain "Open"

The family of R' Chaim answered when questioned about the discrepancy

"there is no clear cut decision"

So that's it! Now we know ...

"any more questions?"
