Media lied about Joe Biden for years — and he just burned them

The fiction that Joe Biden is a selfless, honorable public servant — long undermined by his own deeds — collapsed in on itself Sunday night.

As did the credibility of his longtime allies in the Fourth Estate who helped write it.

For well over a year now, the president and his surrogates have indignantly insisted that he would not pardon his son, Hunter.

And because Biden is a Democrat, he enjoyed not only the benefit of the doubt from America’s journalists, but preemptive praise from them.

S.E. Cupp marveled that “the contrast” between Biden and Donald Trump — who protested the politically-motivated zombie case brought against him by Alvin Bragg — was “profound.”

Andrew Weissmann declared that Biden was “living what it means to have rule of law in this country.”

Legal commentator Neal Katyal said he knew “no other word” for Biden’s decision other than “presidential.”

Chris Whipple, the author of a book about the Biden White House, called his choice “extraordinary” and stood in awe of his “moral clarity.”

Biden biographer Evan Osnos expounded on his subject’s “old-school” conception of his duty and agitation at “abuses of power.”

And when a Republican strategist had the gall — nay, the temerity — to suggest that Biden would go back on his word, CNN’s Abby Phillip informed him, with no shortage of annoyance in her tone, that the president had “ruled out” a pardon for Hunter.

So much for all that.

On Sunday, Biden announced that he had pardoned his progeny not just for the gun and tax crimes he committed, but for any and all illegal conduct over the course of the last decade.

Asked about the reversal on Monday, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that Biden had determined that “war politics” had “infected the process.”

If you’re wondering what she actually means by that, the answer is nothing.

It’s obfuscatory jargon, not a credible explanation.

America’s journalists tell themselves a story about their profession in order to move product and feed their egos.

According to that story, they are the guardians of capital-D Democracy, the ones best positioned and most willing to speak truth to power.

It’s little more than a narcissistic myth.

When it’s Democrats who wield it, most in the press regard their job not as standing up to power, but protecting it.

It’s only when Republicans are at the helm that they suddenly activate the cynical gene that should motivate every journalist worth their salt.

The media was complicit in Biden’s lies about The Post’s accurate reporting about Hunter Biden’s laptop on the eve of the 2020 election.

The media was complicit in covering up Biden’s rapidly deteriorating condition.

And it was complicit in cultivating an image of a noble, publicly-minded Joe Biden that never existed.

During Trump’s first term, journalists warned that “democracy in darkness.”

On the campaign trail, Biden promised to “restore the soul” of the country.

All of this haughty talk was the product of the delusions of grandeur that haunt America’s progressive establishment.

Their preposterous self-conception as the champions of all that is good and right — as well as their castigation of their opponents as all that is evil and wrong — compels some of them to lie and renders the rest of them blind to truths that strike the rest of us as self-evident.

Now, though, with the curtain closing on his failed presidency and lamentable political career, there is one truth too stark to deny.

Joe Biden has destroyed not just his own legacy, but that of those who went to bat for him.

Two Vile DemonRats Jamie Raskin and Nadler Challenging Each other For Top Judiciary Post In Bid To Counter Trump

Rep. Jamie Raskin of Maryland announced Monday that he will run to become the top Democrat on the powerful House Judiciary Committee next year, directly challenging fellow Democratic Rep. Jerry Nadler as the party prepares to fight a second Trump administration and an emboldened Republican majority.

“House Democrats must stand in the breach to defend the principles and institutions of constitutional democracy,” Raskin wrote in a letter to colleagues. “That is our historic assignment now. We dare not fail.”

Raskin said in the letter — obtained by The Associated Press — that he decided to run for the post after spending the week consulting with House Democrats and “engaging in serious introspection” about where the party is following their stunning electoral defeat last month that handed Republicans control of Congress and the White House.

While currently the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, Raskin said that come next year, the Judiciary Committee under his leadership would become “the headquarters of Congressional opposition to authoritarianism” as well as other efforts by President Donald Trump and his allies to thwart the Constitution.

Being the face of the resistance against Trump is not new territory for Raskin who spent the last two years on Oversight as the most vocal defender of President Joe Biden and his family as they faced a sprawling Republican investigation — encouraged by Trump — into their various business affairs.

Raskin, who is a former constitutional law professor, also helped draft articles of impeachment against the incoming president for his encouragement of the violent mob on Jan. 6, 2021, and led the impeachment prosecution in the Senate.

But by throwing his hat in the ring, Raskin is inviting what a bitter intra-party fight with Nadler, who is currently serving his 17th term in Congress and who has held the top spot on Judiciary since 2019. Democrats have over the years rarely broken from the seniority system for committee assignments, no matter how long someone has held a position, making the outcome of the race uncertain.

Both men did not respond to requests for comment but Raskin closed his letter by praising Nadler, saying that he made this decision “with respect and boundless admiration” for him.

“If I’m lucky enough to be chosen for this responsibility in the 119th Congress, I will turn to Jerry first and throughout for his always wise counsel and political judgment,” Raskin added.

Rescued Hostage: “My Views Have Completely Changed Since October 7”

Louis Har, who was rescued from the heart of Rafah in a heroic operation by Yamam special forces after 129 days in captivity, appeared on Shneor Webber’s Melting Pot podcast and shared his harrowing experience in Hamas captivity and personal awakening.

“My views have changed a lot from October 6 until today,” Har said. “I don’t trust any of them. I know that in some way, everyone in Gaza is involved. They were born to hate. They are given weapons when they are babies. They’re happy to sacrifice their children to kill Jews. That’s how they live.”

“To achieve dialogue and coexistence, several generations of proper education in which hatred isn’t taught need to pass. That does not exist. There is no one to talk to. Before I was abducted, I wanted to live in the country in peace and coexistence. We do not hate. We are truly trying to move forward.”

Luis recounted the frightening moments on the morning of Simchas Torah: “We understood they were getting closer to us. We heard the terrorists breaking our windows and entering the house, shooting everywhere, breaking everything. They shot towards the bomb shelter door. Luckily, we were near the corner of the room and crouched down. In hindsight, that saved our lives. They continued shooting as they broke into the bomb shelter and entered. The bullets went over us and from the side.”

“We shouted: ‘Don’t shoot!’ The terrorists barbarically pulled us out and dragged us outside the bomb shelter. There were terrorists in every corner of the house. They asked us for the car keys. We spoke to each other in Spanish and decided not to respond and not to look at them. Afterward, they took us towards the [border] fence. They put Gabriela [Har’s sister] and her daughter Mia in a white pickup truck and drove out of the kibbutz gate toward Gaza. It was exactly at 11:12. a.m. Afterward, they returned and put Fernando, [Har’s brother-in-law], Clara [Har’s wife], and me in the same pickup truck.”

“We sat in the pickup on weapons. Five Hamas terrorists got into the truck. Each had two weapons – one hanging around their neck and the other in their hand which they used to shoot above and shout ‘Allahu Akbar’. Around us, we saw many unarmed Gazan civilians coming to steal whatever they could from the kibbutz homes. We saw them walking around with computers and equipment they had stolen.”

Moving ahead to his surprising rescue, Har said: “My first thought was that the building was bombed by the IDF. I fell from the mattress, toward the direction where the terrorists were. Suddenly, I heard calls: ‘Louis, come here!’ Someone grabbed my leg and said: ‘The IDF is here. We’re taking you home.'”

“They put our heads down and lay on us. It was madness,” he continued. “I’ve never seen anything like this even in movies. I said to the soldier sitting next to me: ‘Tell me, are you sure we’re not in a movie?’ I had to pinch myself to see that I was awake, that this wasn’t just another one of my dreams.”

One week before Har’s miraculous rescue, his daughter and son-in-law took on kabbalos in ruchniyus.

Trump Demands Immediate Release of Oct. 7 Hostages, Says Otherwise There Will Be ‘Hell to Pay’

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump vowed consequences for Hamas on Monday if the terror group did not release its hostages before inauguration day.

Writing on his Truth Social platform, Trump said that there had been “all talk, no action” to free the captives so far.

“If the hostages are not released prior to Jan. 20, 2025, the date that I proudly assume office as president of the United States, there will be all hell to pay in the Middle East, and for those in charge who perpetrated these atrocities against humanity,” Trump wrote.

“Those responsible will be hit harder than anybody has been hit in the long and storied history of the United States of America,” he added. “Release the hostages now.”

Jerusalem believes that 97 of the 251 hostages taken during the Hamas terrorist attacks in Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, remain in Gaza after 423 days. Hamas is also holding two Israeli civilians who entered Gaza in 2014 and 2015, and the bodies of two Israeli soldiers killed during “Operation Protective Edge” in 2014.

Trump’s statement demanding the release of hostages comes on the same day that the Israel Defense Forces revealed that Omer Neutra, an Israeli-American serving in the IDF who was previously thought to have been taken alive, was killed on Oct. 7 and that Hamas continues to hold his body in the Gaza Strip.

It also follows Trump’s meeting on Sunday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s older son, Yair, and the prime minister’s wife, Sara, at the president-elect’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

Trump has previously indicated through surrogates that he wants a ceasefire-for-hostage deal to be completed by the time he takes office, but Monday’s statement is one of the most direct such calls the president-elect has made and the clearest indication that he would demand consequences if a deal fails to materialize.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog welcomed Trump’s message on Monday.
“Thank you and bless you Mr. President-elect Donald Trump,” Herzog wrote. “We all pray for the moment we see our sisters and brothers back home.”

Saudis say that Syrian Bashar al-Assad Seeks Israeli Assistance in War Against Rebels

According to the Saudi newspaper Elaph, Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad has reached out for Israeli assistance in his ongoing war against Syrian rebels. The report states that one of Assad’s aides, currently in Europe, conveyed the message to Israeli political and security officials.

As per the report, Assad requested support from Israel in his struggle against the rebels operating within Syria. In return, he reportedly offered cooperation in exchange for Israeli backing to help him maintain his rule in the face of opposition forces.

Israel, in response, set a condition of its own: the withdrawal of Iranian forces from Syria. As of now, it remains unclear whether any understanding has been reached on this matter.

Biden Continues to Undermine Israel with False Claims of Ceasefire Violations in Lebanon

The Biden-Harris administration continues to undermine Israel’s security on its way out the door, joining France in claiming that Israel is violating the new ceasefire with Hezbollah in Lebanon by flying surveillance drones over Beirut.

Israel’s Ynetnews reported Monday:

The United States has warned Israel that it is violating the terms of the cease-fire agreement with Lebanon. According to sources familiar with the details who spoke to Ynet, “there were Israeli violations of the cease-fire agreement, mainly the visible and audible return of Israeli drones in the skies over Beirut.”

France first warned Israel that it was violating the cease-fire, first reported by Ynet on Sunday, but now the United States has joined these warnings as well. According to the sources, Amos Hochstein, who brokered the deal, accused Israel of the violations in a message to his counterparts in Jerusalem.
Foreign Minister Gideon Saar on Monday morning told his French counterpart Jean-Noël Barrot that Israel was not violating the cease-fire agreement in Lebanon but enforcing it amid Hezbollah’s violations, that require a real-time response. France claimed Israel had failed to report Hezbollah’s violations to the international commission and had used lethal force resulting in the death of civilians.

There is nothing in the text of the ceasefire agreement that prevents Israel from flying surveillance drones.

However, the Jewish News Syndicate reported, France complained that Israel had reacted to alleged Hezbollah violations of the ceasefire by acting on its own, rather than going through the international “mechanism” in the deal.

Hezbollah has been violating the ceasefire, mainly by moving weapons and fighters into positions in southern Lebanon, when it is meant to be moving them out. Israel has arrested suspected Hezbollah fighters and has also launched airstrikes on mobile rocket launchers that it has discovered in operation south of the Litani River.

Over the weekend, Israel also forced a cargo plane from Iran, apparently laden with weapons for Hezbollah, to turn around, intercepting it with fighter jets in Syrian airspace. Iran wants to rebuild Hezbollah, despite the ceasefire.

On Monday, Hezbollah fired two rockets into Israel — the first since the ceasefire, threatening the entire deal.

Obama signals he controls Biden and he’s coming for Israe

Carrying around an anti-Israel book is a topical signal that another realignment on Israel is about to be forced.

By Daniel Greenfield, Frontpage Magazine

One of Obama’s little pseudointellectual gimmicks was very visibly holding topical books to send a signal ahead of a policy intifada. One of those infamous moments came when he was showing off Fareed Zakaria’s “The Post-American World”.

That’s not something Biden does.

Biden’s not much of a reader and he hasn’t bothered with that kind of posturing before, but then shortly after forcing a ceasefire on Israel using an arms embargo, he was photographed while ‘pulling an Obama’.

President Biden was photographed exiting the Nantucket Bookworks bookstore in Massachusetts with a copy of an anti-Israel screed by Obama’s old pal Rashid Khalidi who had been a terrorist spokesman.

Was Biden really planning to read through ‘The Hundred-Year War on Palestine: A History of Colonialism and Resistance’ which slurs Israel as an ‘apartheid state’ and describes Islamic terrorism against Jews as ‘resistance’?

After the Oct 7 attacks, Khalidi defended Hamas, claimed that its members really wanted peace and that Hamas had opened “a door that the United States, Europe and Israel slammed shut”.

“If you can’t go to the International Criminal Court or do a BDS,” Khalidi argued, “then you pick up a gun.”

Khalidi was so toxic that the Los Angeles Times had permanently buried a video of Obama’s toast for the former terror spokesman.

Girl, 7, heard begging her father not to kill her before cops shoot him during standoff: ‘I don’t want to go to heaven today’

Newly released 911 audio revealed the horrifying moment a 7-year-old Ohio girl begged her armed father not to kill her during a standoff with cops, telling him, “I don’t want to go to heaven today.”

Oaklynn Alexander was kidnapped by her non-custodial father, Charles Ryan Alexander, 43, from her grandmother’s house in Jefferson County in eastern Ohio on Nov. 11.

An Amber Alert was issued, leading to a police pursuit as he fled with his young daughter, the Medina County Sheriff’s Office said.

Police eventually deflated Alexander’s tires and forced him into a combative standoff with cops in a parking lot.

Chilling audio of Alexander on 911 reveals the father, who was armed, threatening to kill his daughter and himself, screaming “I will shoot us both, stand back!”

Little Oaklynn can be heard begging in the background, repeatedly telling her father, “Please don’t.”

With a gun in his hand, Alexander also threatened the girl’s mother, telling her, “I wanna talk to her mother. If you’re listening, Ashley, you should’ve called.

The audio then muffles before Oaklynn asks her father if they are “both going to heaven.”

“How do you know we’re going to heaven?” she asks and her father replies, “We’ll both go?”

Oaklynn presses her father further, asking, “I am going to heaven?” As she realizes what that means she quickly yells, “No!”

“I don’t want to go to heaven today,” Oaklynn can be heard pleading. Her father then tells her, “I didn’t want it to happen either, I just wanted to talk to your mother.”

One of the 911 dispatchers interrupts, telling Alexander, “I know you didn’t want to hurt [your daughter] and you didn’t want it to be like this.”

“Let’s not do anything we can’t undo,” the 911 dispatcher tells Alexander.

Oaklynn can be heard asking again and again if she’s “going to heaven today” in the background, at one point crying out “I don’t want to!”

Another dispatcher tries to talk Alexander down, telling him, “Just keep talking to her if you don’t want her to be scared.”

“Let’s not do anything that is going to make it even more unfair to her, ‘cause you love her, I know you do,” the operator says.

At some point during the call, police opened fire and killed Charles Alexander.

Oaklynn was safely returned to her family after watching officers kill her father.

A family friend set up a GoFundMe to go toward “caring for Oaklynn during her mother’s time off from work, mental health expenses and any additional costs for her future.”

Nearly $8,000 had been raised for the girl’s family as of Sunday

Bereaved father files complaint against Moshe Ya'alon Whose Harming Israel With His Crazed Statements

Attorney Itzik Bonzel, father of Staff Sergeant Amit Bonzel who fell in battle in the Gaza Strip, on Sunday filed a complaint with the Israel Police against former IDF Chief of Staff and Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon.

The complaint was filed in response to Ya'alon's statements alleging that IDF soldiers are committing "ethnic cleansing" in Gaza, effectively accusing them of genocide.

Ya'alon made the initial claim in an interview with Democrat TV and reiterated this claim in interviews he gave on Sunday morning. Despite attempts by the interviewers to challenge his stance and steer him away from these harsh accusations against IDF soldiers, Ya'alon did not retract his statements.

Bonzel responded by saying, "Ya'alon's hatred for Netanyahu has driven him mad, but that's his problem. Our problem is that his words amount to incitement and harm to state security."

He stressed that Arab television networks have already used Ya'alon's statements to attack Israel, presenting his remarks as "proof" of genocide by the IDF in Gaza.

"Ya'alon's statements endanger our heroic soldiers, constitute incitement against the state, and directly harm national security," said the bereaved father.

He further noted that in recent times, investigations and arrests have been carried out against right-wing activists, and he expects the police and the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) to prove to the public that enforcement is not selective.

"I expect the Israel Police and the Shin Bet to show the people of Israel that there is no intention to target only right-wing activists, but also to arrest and interrogate individuals like Ya'alon, [Ehud] Barak, and others," Bonzel said. "Ultimately, an indictment should be filed against Ya'alon for incitement and harming state security. This is an opportunity for the police to prove that enforcement is not selective."

Bonzel concluded by calling on the Israel Police to immediately summon Ya'alon for questioning and to keep him in custody until the end of legal proceedings. "We will no longer sit idly by and allow people like him to trample on the honor of our heroic IDF soldiers," he stressed.

Biden Pardons His Son Hunter Despite Previous Pledges Not To

President Joe Biden has pardoned his son, Hunter, sparing the younger Biden a possible prison sentence for federal felony gun and tax convictions and reversing his past promises not to use the extraordinary powers of the presidency for the benefit of his family members.

The Democratic president had previously said he would not pardon his son or commute his sentence after his convictions in the two cases in Delaware and California. The move comes weeks before Hunter Biden was set to receive his punishment after his trial conviction in the gun case and guilty plea on tax charges, and less than two months before President-elect Donald Trump is set to return to the White House.

It caps a long-running legal saga for the president’s son, who publicly disclosed he was under federal investigation in December 2020 — a month after Joe Biden’s 2020 victory.

In June, as his son Hunter was facing trial in the gun case in Delaware, Biden ruled out a pardon or clemency for his son in an interview with ABC News.

As recently as Nov. 8, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre ruled out a pardon or clemency for the younger Biden, saying, “We’ve been asked that question multiple times. Our answer stands, which is no.”

Aleppo Attack By Islamist Rebels Could Shift Regional Dynamics In Israel’s Favor

The Islamist attack on Aleppo, Syria, could present strategic advantages for Israel, according to Daniel Rakov, a senior research fellow at the Jerusalem Institute for Strategy and Security (JISS) and a reserve lieutenant-colonel in the IDF. In a post on X, Rakov analyzed the implications of the assault on northern Syria and its potential impact on Iran, Hezbollah, and regional powers.

“The fall of northern Syria to the rebels damages the infrastructure of the Iranians and Hezbollah there and will make it difficult for them to work to restore Hezbollah,” Rakov wrote. He argued that the conflict would force Syrian President Bashar Assad to focus on preserving his regime rather than aiding Iranian and Hezbollah efforts in Lebanon. This shift, Rakov suggested, might expand Israel’s freedom of action in Syria.

Rakov also highlighted the broader geopolitical implications, noting the embarrassment the developments are for Russia, a key ally of Assad. “The Russians were surprised by the rapid advance of the rebels from Idlib,” he wrote, adding that Russia’s limited military presence in Syria is focused on its own strategic interests rather than supporting Iran and Hezbollah.

Russia’s response has included airstrikes, diplomatic efforts to restrain Turkish support for the rebels, and propaganda downplaying the incident while exaggerating Assad’s capacity to recover.

Despite these efforts, Rakov pointed out that Russian state media has largely ignored the Aleppo conflict. Russian commentators have reportedly shifted blame for the defeat, distancing Moscow from Assad’s failure while noting Turkey’s reduced involvement in northern Syria.

The conflict has also drawn international attention, with reports suggesting that Ukraine has sent aid to Syrian rebels amid its ongoing war with Russia. However, the extent and impact of this aid remain unclear.

Rakov speculated that the instability in Syria could leave Assad vulnerable to attacks from Kurdish forces, southern rebels, or even ISIS, further weakening his regime. He also warned that while the chaos might open the door for greater Iranian military involvement in Syria, it could also lead to significant security threats for Israel if Assad’s regime collapses.

“Assad’s loss of Aleppo damages Russia’s image as a power capable of projecting influence beyond the post-Soviet space,” Rakov argued, noting that this undermines Russia’s strategic assets, including its military bases in Syria.

Concluding his analysis, Rakov stated that the rapid fall of Aleppo has exposed the fragility of both Assad’s regime and Russia’s influence in the region. However, he cautioned that this instability might bring new challenges for Israel, as the power vacuum in Syria could pave the way for the rise of new military threats.

Trump Threatens 100% Tariff on the Bric Bloc of Nations if They Act to Undermine US Dollar

President-elect Donald Trump on Saturday threatened 100% tariffs against a bloc of nine nations if they act to undermine the U.S. dollar.

His threat was directed at countries in the so-called BRIC alliance, which consists of Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates.

Turkey, Azerbaijan and Malaysia have applied to become members and several other countries have expressed interest in joining.

While the U.S. dollar is by far the most-used currency in global business and has survived past challenges to its preeminence, members of the alliance and other developing nations say they are fed up with America’s dominance of the global financial system.

The dollar represents roughly 58% of the world’s foreign exchange reserves, according to the IMF and major commodities like oil are still primarily bought and sold using dollars. The dollar’s dominance is threatened, however, with BRICS’ growing share of GDP and the alliance’s intent to trade in non-dollar currencies — a process known as de-dollarization.

Trump, in a Truth Social post, said: “We require a commitment from these Countries that they will neither create a new BRICS Currency, nor back any other Currency to replace the mighty U.S. Dollar or, they will face 100% Tariffs, and should expect to say goodbye to selling into the wonderful U.S. Economy.”

At a summit of BRIC nations in October, Russian President Vladimir Putin accused the U.S. of “weaponizing” the dollar and described it as a “big mistake.”

“It’s not us who refuse to use the dollar,” Putin said at the time. “But if they don’t let us work, what can we do? We are forced to search for alternatives.”

Russia has specifically pushed for the creation of a new payment system that would offer an alternative to the global bank messaging network, SWIFT, and allow Moscow to dodge Western sanctions and trade with partners.

Trump said there is “no chance” BRIC will replace the U.S. dollar in global trade and any country that tries to make that happen “should wave goodbye to America.”

Research shows that the U.S. dollar’s role as the primary global reserve currency is not threatened in the near future.

An Atlantic Council model that assesses the dollar’s place as the primary global reserve currency states the dollar is “secure in the near and medium term” and continues to dominate other currencies.

Trump’s latest tariff threat comes after he threatened to slap 25% tariffs on everything imported from Mexico and Canada, and an additional 10% tax on goods from China, as a way to force the countries to do more to halt the flow of illegal immigration and drugs into the U.S.

He has since held a call with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, who said Thursday she is confident that a tariff war with the United States can be averted. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau returned home Saturday after meeting Trump, without assurances the president-elect will back away from threatened tariffs on Canada.

Soldier Proposes In Rehabilitation Ward After Lebanon Injury

Lev Podvitsky and his girlfriend Stav’s love story began five and a half years ago at an IDF base in the Golan Heights. The two quickly became close friends and recently Lev had already chosen the perfect ring to propose before he was called into battle and seriously injured in southern Lebanon, suffering leg and eye injuries.

Recovering slowly at Sheba Medical Center’s rehabilitation wing after four surgeries at Jerusalem’s Shaare Tzedek hospital, Lev, a fourth-year civil engineering student at the Technion Israel Institute of Technology was determined to go forward with his original intention and propose to Stav, with the help of the staff at the medical center.

His path to recovery brought him to Sheba’s “Returning to Life” rehabilitation center, where the staff helped create a special moment. They laid out a red carpet replicating the path Lev had once built between his and Stav’s offices at their military base.

In the occupational therapy hall, Lev proposed, with the sign on the board reading “I may not be your superman, but will you be mine?” After Stav said yes, in a touching moment Lev rose from his wheelchair to embrace his new fiancée.
