Masbia Welcomes the Migrants shipped from Texas to New York .... Rapaport Compares the Migrants to Holocaust Survivors

 

The weathered transit halls of New York’s Port Authority Bus Terminal have been turned into a makeshift immigration office over the last couple weeks, ever since Texas Gov. Greg Abbott began sending asylum seekers and other migrants to New York City

And when they arrive, Masbia, the kosher food pantry, is among the organizations there to greet them, providing shoes and smiles for hundreds of weary migrants.

“It is hard to keep up the pace,” Masbia Executive Director Alexander Rapaport told the New York Jewish Week, after his organization had been there for days, handing out hundreds of pairs of shoes they picked up from Walmart and Target. “It’s not a little sandwich we’re giving people.”

On Thursday, another busload of migrants arrived from Texas at 11:00 a.m. after a 72-hour journey. Among them was Anthony, a 22-year-old from Venezuela. He told the New York Jewish Week that his route north took him through the Panamanian jungle, where he injured his feet, leaving him “crying and depressed.”

“There are people who come for us in the jungle,” Anthony said. “They have shotguns, revolvers, they just run through us, take our money, our cellphones, rape our women, then go.”

He added, “A gentlemen of 60 years old, the people took and raped his granddaughter, he tried to defend her, and he also got raped.”

Anthony said he came to New York City alone, leaving his family behind in Venezuela.

“I don’t know anyone here,” Anthony said. “My family is very poor. I’ve been lucky to even get to New York. My goal is to get a good job and help my family back in my country.”

He added that he was apprehended after crossing into Texas, and border patrol officials asked if he wanted to go to New York.

“They put me on a bus, and here we are,” Anthony said.

The buses are part of what the Republican Abbott says is a plan to pressure the Biden administration on border security; critics, including NYC Mayor Eric Adams, say it is an inhumane political stunt. In a New York Post op-ed on Tuesday, Abbot called Adams a hypocrite for calling New York a sanctuary city and then complaining about the new arrivals.

 An FBI agent who was previously featured in a video from the bureau in which he described steps the organization takes to combat election fraud, has resigned from his post amid allegations of political bias.

FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge Timothy Thibault retired over the weekend, per Fox News. He was escorted out of the building following his resignation, according to a source.

Thibault’s name spent considerable time in the news after it emerged that he may have used his position to interfere with the Hunter Biden investigation.

Senate Judiciary ranking member Chuck Grassley personally named Thibault in a July 18 letter he had written to FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland, in which he demanded an explanation for what whistleblowers described as a pattern of political bias from high-ranking officials.

“As you are aware, Assistant Special Agent in Charge Tim Thibault is not the only politically biased FBI agent at the Washington Field Office,” the letter stated. He added that “the FBI answers to Congress and the American people.”

Grassley gave Wray a deadline of Aug. 31 to respond to his letter, in which he also demanded a full breakdown of the structure of the Washington Field Office, including who is responsible for the units and squads within the office.

In a touch of irony, Thibault was featured in a video posted by the FBI in October of 2020, in which he described how the FBI protects election integrity.

A new awakening for Jews in Israel.... Thousands settling and establishing new communities in Judea & Shomron

 

Are we entering a new era in the history of Jewish settlement of the Land of Israel? The answer is clear: There is an awakening, such as we have not seen in many years.

The Nachala movement comprises dozens of garinim (seed groups) and hundreds of families - sure signs that a new era has indeed begun.

The awakening began on the 21st of the Jewish month of Tammuz, July 20: Tens of thousands of people packed their tents and families and went up to numerous locations simultaneously, demanding from the government of Israel the establishment of new Jewish communities throughout Judea and Samaria.

Since that day, a number of garinim have been organizing and conducting daily public activities at these locations. In addition, there are more garinim getting ready to move to various locations, and there are hundreds of activists throughout Israel who are organizing local chapters of supporters. They come to express their support, both ideologically and practically.

One of the new garinim, Maale Yonatan, in memory of Yoni Netanyahu, is located near Revava, on a parcel of land which was purchased back in 1980s by a Jewish family. On Tu B'av (the 15th of the Jewish month of Av), the garin organized a huge event, which was attended by rabbis, as well as by Yossi Dagan, head of the Samaria Regional council; MK Simcha Rothman (Religious Zionism); and Tzvi Sukkot and Naama Zarbiv, candidates for the Zionist Religious party. The event was followed by an all-night Torah learning session and a gathering with Rabbi Arele Harel.

Yedidya Slonim, the coordinator of the Nachala seed groups, said: "Starting from the 21st of Tammuz we have been conducting non-stop activities in a few locations. There are daily Mincha (afternoon) prayers, followed by Torah learning and Maariv (evening) prayers in each location. At the Tu B'av event at Maale Yonatan, there were 20 families who camped out in tents overnight. Last week we had a group of young people who, after a brief training course, spent days working on developing the area.”

“The public is motivated and determined, especially in light of the absurd situation, where we see daily illegal Arab building activity, on government land.

“On Tisha B'Av (the Ninth of Av), hundreds of people were in various locations to conduct the traditional Kinot (lamentations) reading. This year, the mourning for the destruction of the Holy Temples was accompanied by positive feelings over the steps we are taking in rebuilding and settling of the Land of Israel. There were prayers at Maale Yonatan; Gofna near Nachliel; Ramat Arbel in the Galilee; Mitzpe Avichai; Mevaseret Adumim; as well as a number of other locations. MKs from all the right-wing parties expressed their full support for these activities.”

Lital Slonim, who heads the public relations for Nachala, said: "MKs from the Likud, the Religious Zionism party, and other right-wing parties are in constant contact with us. They are fully aware of the danger that Arab illegal building activities pose, and they support our efforts to put an end to it. It is clear to everyone that the establishment of new Jewish communities is the only way to prevent the illegal Arab occupation of government land. This is a crucial step, to ensure the security of Israel. It also raises the national pride within the Jewish People.”

The awakening caused by Nachala's activities is not limited to the Israeli public: The demand for the establishment of new Jewish communities by the government of Israel caused an awakening throughout Jewish communities across the globe.

Yedidya and Lital Slonim, currently in Australia, have received a warm welcome and strong support in Melbourne and Sydney. New groups of supporters are being organized in Sao Paolo, Brazil, as we as throughout the United States and Canada.

Bnei-Brak Rebbe Indicted For Abusing Two Minors During Recesses

 

The Central District prosecutor issued an indictment against a 35-year-old teacher from Bnei Brak who taught in a Talmud Torah in Elad on suspicion of abusing two children when he was locked in the class with them.

The scathing indictment was issued by attorney Moshe Yechezkel and details how for a half a year from the beginning of 2022, the accused attacked two minors aged 12 and 14 who were studying in the Talmud Torah and exploited his position and role to give favorable attention to the youths in return for abusing them. The acts were performed during recesses when the teacher was in the locked classroom together with the pupils.

Requesting that the accused be remanded in custody until the end of legal proceedings, Yechezkel wrote that “the acts of the respondent show that he did not hesitate to use subterfuge and cunning in order to harm young juveniles. The respondent utilized his position to create trust and closeness and to exploit an opportunity to do what he is charged with.”

The accused is charged with performing criminal acts on a juvenile under 16 years old and under 14 years old while exploiting his position of authority and their dependence on him as well as utilizing his educational and supervisory role.

Police said that “if there are further victims of the accused, they should contact police and submit a complaint.” The man’s name was released for publication, and VINnews will provide the information for all who wish to submit complaints and who may have been victims of the teacher.

 

Twitter Suspends ‘Libs-of-Tik-Tok’

 

This weekend, the popular “Libs of TikTok” account was suspended by Twitter, over alleged violations of the social media platform’s guidelines.

A suspension message apparently sent to the account was posted by a different Twitter user: “Hi Libs of TikTok, your account, @libsoftiktok has been locked for violating the Twitter rules. You may not promote violence against, threaten, or harass other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease.”

Twitter did not specify which “offensive” tweet prompted the suspension.

Libs of TikTok has become extremely popular by sharing shocking far-left videos from TikTok which depict people engaging in immoral behaviors including child mutilation. In addition, subject matter can include critical race theory, and immoral public education issues.

This is not the first time the right-wing account has been censored in recent weeks. It was suspended from Facebook last week and received the following message: “You can’t use Facebook or Messenger because your account, or activity on it, didn’t follow our Community Standards. We have already reviewed this decision and it can’t be reversed.”

Israel Bombs 1,000 Iranian Missiles In Syria

 

Satellite imagery showed widespread destruction at a giant military facility in western Syria targeted in a recent Israeli airstrike, and the head of a Syrian opposition war monitor said Sunday the strike targeted a depot housing over 1,000 middle-range missiles for Iran-backed fighters.

Syrian state media reported after the Thursday night attack near the cities of Tartus and Hama that two people were wounded and fires were sparked in nearby forests. It added that the missiles were fired from over the Mediterranean and most of them were shot down.

As reports swirl of the emerging nuclear with Iran, the head of the Mossad chief Dovid Barnea has been holding meetings on the issue, and on Thursday, he harshly censured the Biden administration at a press briefing.

Barnea said that the nuclear deal that is emerging is a strategic disaster as in the long term, it will make it easier for Iran to obtain nuclear weapons – an effort that the Islamic Republic hasn’t abandoned since 2003. In fact, the deal actually gives Iran a license to obtain nuclear material that will allow it to build a bomb.
