Israel's Young Charedim turning Against Their Leaders

Dear Readers
On this thread, I will not allow any ad hominem attacks on this huge Talmid Chachim and Gadol Hador!
If you want to comment on the merits, then do so, but I will not allow anyone to deride, disparage, insult, or mock this special tzaddik!

Whitman is not Feffer said...

Which Chassidus in Brooklyn did Whitman leave the fold from? Is it any wonder he relishes the idea of someone against the establishment?

I have known R' Pfeffer for about 25 years years. He would (rightfully) laugh at the idea of being described as a "gadol hador." He is doing great things with this new party (and other initiatives of his). But the honest approach is to say that we are living in an era where many believe that the gedolim are out of touch, and we need a new mode of leadership. Not that R' Pfeffer is the equivalent of Rav Shteinman, Edelstein, or Hirsch.

Yehoshua
We don't compare Gadol Hadors to each other; would anyone compare Rav Shteinman to the Chazon Ish?
Would anyone compare Rav Edelstein to Rav Moshe Feinstein
Would anyone compare Rav Schach to Rav Chaim Oizer?
We take each person and evaluate it on its own merit. Based on this video alone, Rav Pfeffer meets the criteria!

What exactly do you mean by saying that he is "against the establishment"
What establishment?
Who established it?

You think the Kovner Rov wasn’t aware of the Rambam that you try to use as a wedge against kollel? You have a problem that you refuse to allow (real) Gedolim to interpret Rishonim & posken which ones we should hold like. That itself is commanded by the Torah

I wish him the best of success and suspect that his secret weapon, the women Chareidi vote, will push him over the top.

Gadol was never used in Tanach to describe leaders. Moshe was a great Anav, not described as gadol, neither is Yehoshua the conquerer, nor David or Saul who was described as very tall and handsome, not gadol.. Certainly not Yiphtach, Gideon, Barak or Solomon.

What about ‘Ad Homo’ attacks on the toyevaniks Tzioni Knesset Speaker Ohana & his “husband”?

The Kovner Rav Rav Yitzchak Elchanan Spektor had maybe 50 Talmidim at the peak!
Last I heard, the Rambam was a Rishon, and what he wrote, which I quoted, needs no interpretation; a 5-year-old child can learn it and understand it!
I see that you didn't watch the film you just babble like an old lady at the chicken market!

I don't see Rav Landau having a problem with that, nor Rav Hirsch! They have their MKs sitting with them, What's good for the goose is good for the gander!

Who knew that Satmar’s fixer in the courts Sherri Eisenpress was forced out?

What establishment you ask said...

Listen wise guy, it's actually good you are playing this splitting hairs game because I can tell you poshut that certain ausvarfs who are the overwhelming miut claiming to be Charedim don't have any respect for their elders so yes the gedolim are not the establishment the way the ausvarfs see it. Of course you welcome with open arms & a homecoming party any such stragglers jumping on your sad bandwagon

It's just like you to downplay that this kollel had 170 at the peak. There were other places that were smaller that you totally ignore in Minsk & elsewhere. Kollelim often went by the title kloiz in the old days

Notable Cities with Historical Kloiz kollelim

Prague: originally a 16th-century complex of three kloyzn founded by Mordechai Maisel where the famous Maharal taught.
Vilna: the Gaon's Kloiz & several others established starting in the 17th century.
Brody: famous for the Brodyer Kloiz (Old Kloiz), a massive center of elite, non-Hasidic rabbinic scholarship
Kovno actually had several
Kėdainiai: a famous historical kloiz
Minsk: several kloyzn by the late 18th century as the Jewish community expanded.
Grodno: operational kloyzn as early as 1691.
Brisk: historical kloyzn dating back to 1667.
Lwów: multiple distinct kloyzn recorded well before 1760.
Beyond these major urban centers, kloyzn were widespread in smaller towns including Kremenets, Ostróg, Opatów & Poznań.

Especially YOU, who wakes up each morning eagerly looking to see what I posted! You are my biggest "straggler" jumping on my "sad" bandwagon!
Welcome aboard!

Interesting, if you added up all those sitting in the Kollilim you listed it wouldn't add up to the amount of Avreichim sitting in my kollel in a caravan in Beit Shemesh!

Too bad they are not campaigning more, everyone could use a normal religious party
