Our Hero Dr. Eitan Naaman hy"d

Dr. Eitan Naaman, a senior pediatrician at Soroka Hospital, was killed in battle near the Gaza border two days after the 7th October massacre.

Only recently, his widow, Yael, learned the full story of his incredible bravery.

At a bar mitzvah, she happened to meet the military rabbi who handled his body and he told her:

“His hand was clenched, and inside it - a live grenade.”

It turned out to be a Hamas grenade that Dr. Naaman had caught in his hand, intending to throw it back at the terrorists to save the lives of his fellow soldiers.

Later, his commander said:

“When you run out of ammunition, you use the enemy’s weapon.”

A true hero.
