Firebrand pundit Candace Owens has been named “Antisemite of the Year” by watchdog StopAntisemitism, which says she “blew the competition away” with more votes than anyone in previous years.
“Candace Owens’ witch’s brew of antisemitism drew from vile medieval blood libels, including claims that Jews drink Christian blood, conspiracies that Jews are pedophiles who control the media and are ‘taking over America,’ and modern toxic anti-Israel hysteria,” StopAntisemitism’s founder, Liora Rez, told The Post.
“There is no psychotic rabbit hole too extreme for this poisonous hater.”
StopAntisemitism bestowed the title last year on Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.). Other recipients have included Ye, the Hitler-loving rapper formerly known as Kanye West, in 2022, and Tlaib’s fellow “Squad” member Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) in 2019.
The watchdog shared a video of comments from Owens — who split from The Daily Wire over her views — including her defending Ye’s antisemitic tirades and also her attacking Israel, which she claimed had “occupied” the US, in the wake of the Oct. 7, 2023, massacre.
“Jew-hatred is a symptom of a decaying society just as it is a rotting mind,” Rez stated.
“This dishonor is awarded to the individual who has done the most to endanger the Jewish community, and in 2024, Candace Owens has tragically and decisively earned the title.
“Out of dozens of contenders, she blew the competition away with her relentless campaign of dangerous rhetoric targeting the Jewish community, earning more votes than any Antisemite of the Year we’ve ever named.”
The outspoken conservative pundit had previously scoffed at being in the running for the title.
“I feel like maybe [Israeli] prime minister [Benjamin] Netanyahu should’ve made the list because he’s killed more semites than anybody — did we forget Palestinians are semites,” she said on her show last month.
“The ratio under this post is incredible lol. Zionists are completely out of touch. Reminiscent of BLM in 2020 running around calling everything and everyone racist. From excruciatingly annoying, to mildly entertaining to utterly obsolete,” Owens posted on X in response to the announcement. “We are all fatigued with ‘antisemitism.’”
“Truly, I didn’t think anyone could top the petulance of Patrisse Cullors in 2020 but I have to hand it to the Zionist lobby this year,” she added. “BLM walked so you guys could run.”
“Obviously I will prepare an acceptance speech for my show tomorrow,” Owens later snarked in another X post. “So many people to thank.”
Owens had parted ways in March with the Daily Wire, a conservative outlet she began working for in 2021. She is widely believed to be under a gag order that precludes her from speaking specifically on the split.
However, her departure came amid public friction with its co-founder and star podcaster Ben Shapiro. In the wake of the Hamas surprise attack that killed some 1,200 Israelis, she was caught liking a post on X spouting a bizarre and centuries-old conspiracy theory about rabbis drinking the blood of Christians.
Shapiro, an Orthodox Jew and a staunch defender of Israel, had criticized Owens’ comments as “absolutely disgraceful.”
Rez said that “thankfully” Owens “has been disavowed by many of her former friends and allies.
“But she is a cautionary tale for our nation,” the watchdog’s founder said. “Just as Candace has deteriorated into insanity and irrelevance, so does every civilization where antisemitism flourishes.”
Following her departure from the Daily Wire, Owens has launched her own show, which she posts on YouTube and other platforms.
She’s also continued to draw scrutiny over her comments on Jewish people. Over the summer, she appeared to imply suggested that some of the heinous experiments conducted by Nazis during the Holocaust were merely “propaganda.”
“The Nazis experimented on innocent people,” Owens said over the summer. “Some of the stories, by the way, sound completely absurd. ”
“The idea that they just cut a human up and sewed them back together?” she further pondered at the time. “Why would you do that? Literally even if you’re the most evil person in the world, that’s a tremendous waste of time and supplies [to] just slice a person in half and sew them back together. That just sounds like bizarre propaganda.”
Owens maintains that her remarks were taken out of context and denies that she’s downplayed the experiments by notorious Nazi Dr. Josef Mengele.
“They can’t produce [videos of] me discussing Mengele because it doesn’t exist,” Owens argued on her show in November. “If you’re speaking about someone so evil, why is a lie required?”
