We are horrified to learn that white supremacists disrupted a Broadway show in NYC last night spewing their vile antisemitism and passing out ‘Goyim Defense League’ flyers vilifying the Jewish people. pic.twitter.com/ezL6EZXisX

On Tuesday, vicious Neo-Nazi antisemites protested outside the Broadway revival of Parade—a musical about the true story of the false conviction and horrific murder of a Jewish man named Leo Frank HY”D in 1915.
The members of the “National Socialist Movement” shouted at patrons, carried signs with hateful rhetoric, and attempted to distribute hate-filled fliers to people in line for the show.
It was particularly gruesome considering that the musical is an indictment against antisemitism in its most despicable form.
The show depicts the life and tragic death of Mr. Frank, a Jewish factory manager in Georgia in the early 20th century. He was falsely convicted of murdering 13-year-old factory worker Mary Phagan and sentenced to life in prison. But Mr. Frank was subsequently lynched by an angry white mob.
After his death, it was revealed that Ms. Phagan was actually murdered by Jim Conley, another factory worker. Mr. Frank has been exonerated, and the ADL was founded in response to his tragic murder.
The far-right white supremacist group falsely and baselessly accused Mr. Frank of being guilty, in addition to other crimes.
The flyers also mentioned a streaming platform of another antisemitic group, the Goyim Defense League (GDL), who is directly linked to the perpetrator of the antisemitic shootings in Los Angeles last week, in addition to other hate crimes.
The musical’s producers were quoted as saying: “If there is any remaining doubt out there about the urgency of telling this story in this moment in history, the vileness on display tonight should put it to rest. We stand by the valiant Broadway cast that brings this vital story to life each night.”
Members of the cast watched the disturbing display from their dressing rooms. One of the show’s swings, Prentiss E. Mouton, posted on Instagram: “Are you really doing the real work of an artist if you aren’t be[ing] protested by Neo-Nazis? If I wasn’t proud enough to be a part of this production, it was solidified today.”
The show’s star Ben Platt, who plays Frank, reacted on Instagram He said, “It was definitely very ugly and scary, but a wonderful reminder of why we’re telling this particular story and how special and powerful art and, particularly, theater can be. And it made me feel extra, extra grateful to be the one to get to tell this particular story and to carry on the legacy of Leo.”
He also referenced “the really ugly actions of a few people who are spreading evil.”
Cast member Douglas Lyons posted: “To the Nazis who protested our beautiful show with hatred directly outside our dressing rooms, fear don’t work here baby. We gonna tell the story and we gonna tell it with conviction.”
