Dumb Sucidal Jews Ignore the Democrats’ Rising Anti-Semitism

Of the seventeen members of the House who voted against the anti-Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions of Israel and stood with Congresswomen Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, sixteen were Democrats.

Let that sink in, because some three-quarters of Jewish voters blindly vote for the Democrats. They will rationalize this outcome by saying that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi kept the boycotters in check.

But if Jewish voters look closely at the demographics of those 16 members of the House, they will see the face of the changing character of the Democrat Party.

Congresswoman Tlaib, who took the oath of office on the Koran and celebrated her victory by wrapping herself in the Palestinian flag, knew her earlier attempt to get the House to pass a Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions bill had no chance of success.

The point, of course, was not to get the bill passed, no more than BDS hate-fests on American campuses are about getting a BDS policy enacted.

They are about providing a propaganda forum for the dissemination of anti-Israel hate and with it anti-Semitism. It is no accident that anti-Semitic incidents on campus rise when BDS resolutions come before the student legislative body.

For those Jews who are wedded to the Democrat Party, perhaps a brief history lesson is in order. Until the realigning election of 1928, when Al Smith ran for the presidency, the Democrat Party was the party of rural America. It was the party of the one-party, solid South and the Klan.

Although Smith lost the election of 1928, his candidacy moved urban working class Americans of Eastern European ancestry into the Democratic fold.

Franklin D. Roosevelt is the great hero of Jewish Democrats, even though he abandoned six million Jews to the Nazis.

Roosevelt was a racist who had an irrational fear of the Japanese. Over the objections of FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover, Roosevelt embarked on a policy of the internment of Japanese American citizens.

Harry Truman is praised for recognizing the State of Israel, but then he proceeded to cut off arms shipments to the fledgling state as the Arabs announced a war of genocide.

Lyndon B. Johnson abandoned Israel in the 1967 war. His joint chiefs of staff wrote a report on June 29, 1967, that concluded that the West Bank and the Golan Heights were vital to Israel’s defense. Johnson had the report buried.

There is no president who has been more pro-Muslim and anti-Israel than Barack Obama. Yet if he ran again, there is little doubt, that he would garner 80 percent of the Jewish vote.

Obama called for Israel to return to the indefensible 1967 borders, what Abba Eban called the Auschwitz lines. Obama is responsible for the infamous UN Resolution 2334, which proclaimed most of Israel illegitimate.

When the people of Iran attempted to oust the mullahs in 2009, Obama abandoned them and instructed the CIA to cut off all relations with the opposition. His nuclear deal with Iran and subsequent release of $150 billion enabled the mullahs to send modern arms to Hezbollah and Hamas, with the avowed intent of destroying Israel.

Jewish Democrats say they don’t care about Israel. Well, they should out of primitive self-interest, because anti-Zionism is simply the newest cover for anti-Semitism.

If only Israel gave back the territories, Jewish Democrats say, there would be peace. 

There was terrorism before there was a single Jew in the territories. There will be more terrorism if the territories fall into Palestinian hands, and there will be war because no nation state can survive in a hostile environment without strategic depth.

The Russians repositioned their industry beyond the Urals to fight the Nazis. Without the ability to fall back to the Pusan perimeter, there would be no South Korea today.

No president has been a greater supporter of both Israel and the Jewish people than President Donald J. Trump. Yet American Jews revile him.

When he moved the embassy to Jerusalem, Jewish Democrats said that the Arab street would explode and he would precipitate World War III. Of course, that was pure hyperbole, a regurgitation of the mantras heard on CNN.

Jewish Democrats will continue to vote for the party of Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib. 

They will rationalize why they should march with anti-Semites Linda Sarsour and Tamika Mallory. They will support the Congressional Black Caucus even as it embraces the Rev. Louis Farrakhan, who calls Jews termites that should be exterminated.

In the end, they are hopeless. As Israelis celebrate President Trump and say prayers in his honor, American Jews repeat the most vicious and unfounded slanders against him.

As Jewish conservatives have often noted, if Obama had nuked Tel Aviv, he would probably have still retained 70 percent of the Jewish vote.
