Politicians from both sides of the aisle offer prayers for Biden and family in wake of ‘aggressive’ cancer diagnosis

 Democrats and Republicans alike offered their prayers to former President Joe Biden and his family Sunday in the wake of his cancer diagnosis announcement. 

Even the fiercest of political rivals came out to show support for the ex-commander in chief after a spokesperson revealed Biden, 82, was diagnosed with an “aggressive” form of prostate cancer following an exam in which doctors found a small, but concerning nodule on his prostate earlier this month.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who infamously shouted “liar” at then-President Biden in 2023 during his State of the Union speech, offered a heartfelt note to the Democrat.

“I’m sorry to see this news. Cancer is truly awful,” Greene (R-Ga.), wrote on X. “My dad passed away in 2021 with cancer. Prays for Joe Biden and his family.”

The tender sentiment swept across the political aisle all day Sunday as politicians from both parties expressed their grief and offered up their support for the former president, who was the oldest ever to hold the office. 

Even President Trump, who has described his once political opponent as “a sleepy crooked guy,” delivered a solemn but hopeful message to Biden.

“We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery,” Trump said in a statement on behalf of himself and First Lady Melania Trump.

Biden’s Vice President Kamala Harris and the second gentleman also showed steadfast support for him and his family. 

“Doug and I are saddened to learn of President Biden’s prostate cancer diagnosis. We are keeping him, Dr. Biden, and their entire family in our hearts and prayers during this time,” Harris posted on X. “Joe is a fighter — and I know he will face this challenge with the same strength, resilience, and optimism that have always defined his life and leadership. We are hopeful for a full and speedy recovery.”

Biden’s other former running mate, ex-President Barack Obama, sent out encouraging words to the Bidens as well.

“Michelle and I are thinking of the entire Biden family,” Obama tweeted. “Nobody has done more to find breakthrough treatments for cancer in all its forms than Joe, and I am certain he will fight this challenge with his trademark resolve and grace. We pray for a fast and full recovery.”

In a statement Sunday, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) too said he would be praying for the ex-president. 

“This is certainly sad news, and the Johnson family will be joining the countless others who are praying for the former President in the wake of his diagnosis,” he said. 

His counterpart in the Senate across the aisle promised to do the same thing. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) wrote that he was “praying for President Biden and the entire Biden family.”

Hillary Clinton, President Trump’s first Democratic rival for the office, whom he defeated in 2016, weighed in on the news along with her husband, former President Bill Clinton. 

“I’m thinking of the Bidens as they take on cancer, a disease they’ve done so much to try to spare other families from. Wishing you a speedy, full recovery,” the former Secretary of State posted.

“My friend Joe Biden’s always been a fighter,” Former President Bill Clinton added in a comment from his own account. “Hillary and I are rooting for him and are keeping him, Jill, and the entire family in our thoughts.”

Report: Ben-Gvir’s Prison Reform Has Been Instrumental In Curbing Terror In Shomron

 

Sources in the Shin Bet and the defense establishment believe that the steep decline in the number of terror attacks in Yehuda and Shomron in recent months stems from a combination of National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir’s prison reform and targeted operations in the field, Artuz Sheva reported last week.

According to the sources, after entering his position, Ben-Gvir spearheaded a fundamental change in terrorists’  prison conditions, which has led to a reduction in Palestinians’ motivation to carry out terrorist acts.

“The terrorists understand that the picnic is over,” the sources told Arutz Sheva. “If in the past we saw young Palestinians entering Israeli prisons to receive an allowance from the Palestinian Authority and in the meantime sit comfortably in prison with good conditions of meals, showers, and college studies – today the harsh conditions in the security prisons, according to the policy of Minister Ben-Gvir, are causing terrorists to recalculate their paths.”

“One of the terrorists who was recently released from prison said that if he had known these were the conditions, he wouldn’t have even thrown a stone.”

Sources close to Minister Ben-Gvir note that since the appointment of Prison Service Chief Kobi Yaakobi, deposits of funds to terrorists have been stopped, canteens have been closed, shower and yard hours have been reduced, the menu has been changed, the prisoners’ “spokesperson” status has been revoked, and dental treatments have been halted.

Israel Day Parade in NYC Draws Over 40,000 in Show of Unity and Urgency

 

Fifth Avenue turned blue and white on Sunday as more than 40,000 people gathered for the 77th annual Celebrate Israel Parade. With this year’s theme of Hatikvah — “Hope” — the march carried added emotional weight, as families of hostages and supporters called for their return nearly 20 months after October 7.

The parade, stretching from 57th to 74th Streets, featured schools, synagogues, advocacy groups, and youth movements marching together. Yellow ribbons, hostage posters, and chants of “Bring Them Home” dominated the day, reminding spectators that this year’s celebration was tempered by grief and resolve.

“There’s more attention here than in Jerusalem,” said Yotam Cohen, brother of hostage Nimrod Cohen. His father, Yehuda, added bluntly: “The U.S. is doing more to free them than Israel.”

Floats carried released hostages and relatives of those still in captivity, while bystanders cheered, danced, and waved Israeli flags. Many said this year’s parade was not just about support — but about sending a message to elected officials ahead of local elections.

Dozens of local government officials and hopeful candidates running for office also joined the crowd, walking alongside constituents and speaking out in support of Israel and the hostages. Their presence underscored the political significance of the event, as well as the deep-rooted connection between New York’s Jewish community and the Jewish state.

“New York’s Jewish community must be visible,” said one Yeshiva University alum. “Especially now.”

The collection includes thousands of items that were kept under tight Syrian security for decades.

This remarkable intelligence coup took place just days before the 60th anniversary of Eli Cohen’s execution on May 18, 1965, in the central square of al-Marjeh in Damascus.

Today, in a special ceremony attended by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Mossad Chief David (Dadi) Barnea, a number of original documents and personal belongings were presented to Eli Cohen’s widow, Mrs. Nadia Cohen. Among the items shown was the original handwritten will Eli Cohen composed hours before his execution—until now, only a copy had ever been seen.

The recovered archive includes over 2,500 documents, photographs, and personal items—most of them never seen before. These materials were collected by Syrian intelligence after Cohen’s arrest in January 1965 and include audio recordings, handwritten letters to his family in Israel, surveillance photos from his covert operations in Syria, and various personal effects seized from his home after he was captured.

Among the items:

• The original keys to his Damascus apartment

• Forged passports and identification papers

• Photos showing Cohen alongside senior Syrian military and government officials

• His personal notebooks, which contained sensitive mission details—including surveillance tasks and intelligence gathering on Syrian military bases in Quneitra

• The original court ruling authorizing his execution, which also permitted Rabbi Nissim Andabo, the head of the Damascus Jewish community, to accompany Cohen in his final moments according to Jewish tradition

One particularly emotional discovery was a large orange file labeled “Nadia Cohen.” Syrian intelligence had compiled an entire dossier detailing her efforts to secure her husband’s release, including letters she had written to global leaders and to the President of Syria himself, pleading for mercy.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said:

“Eli Cohen is a legend. Over time, he has proven to be the greatest intelligence agent in Israel’s history. His courage and actions directly contributed to Israel’s victory in the Six-Day War. This newly recovered archive will educate future generations and reflects our unshakable commitment to bringing all our missing, captives, and fallen home.”

Mossad Director David Barnea added:

“This archive is a major moral and national achievement. It marks another critical step in our mission to discover where our agent is buried. We remain determined to locate and bring home all the missing, both living and fallen—those for healing, and those for eternal rest in Israel.

Body of Mohammed found in Khan Yunis terror tunnel

 

The body of Hamas leader Mohammed Sinwar has been found in a terrorist attack tunnel in Khan Yunis, Saudi media reported Sunday morning.

According to the Al-Hadath network, the bodies of ten of Sinwar's aides were also found, as was the body of Hamas Rafah Brigade commander Mohammed Shabana.

Sinwar was targeted in a strike on an underground command and control center in Khan Yunis last Tuesday. Israeli defense officials believed that the strike was successful, but no confirmation had been received until now.

The Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry initially reported that 16 individuals were killed and 70 were wounded in the strike. The reports did not note their identities.

Sinwar became the leader of Hamas in Gaza and the head of the Hamas militant wing following the assassination of his brother, October 7 mastermind Yahya Sinwar, in October 2024. He has been considered a hardliner who stood in the way of a potential deal to return the remaining 58 hostages held by Hamas in Gaza.

ICC Prosecutor Goes On Leave Amid Assault Probe, Bank Accounts In UK Frozen

 Chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court Karim Khan has stepped down on a “temporary basis” as an investigation into rape allegations against him take place, the court announced on Friday.

Khan was also accused of harassing staff who supported his accuser, including demoting several people

Women’s rights groups, who called for Khan to step down last year, after his aide accused him of severe abuse, welcome the announcement.

“In any other professional setting, someone facing such serious allegations would have been expected to step down months ago,” Eimear Shine, a spokesperson for The Hague-based Women’s Initiatives for Gender Justice, said.

Meanwhile, Khan’s bank accounts in his home country of the UK are frozen in the wake of U.S. President Donald Trump’s sanctions on the ICC for “illegitimate and baseless actions targeting America and our close ally Israel.”

The Wall Street Journal reported last week that Khan issued the arrest warrants against Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and former defense minister Yoav Gallant in order to deflect attention from the rape charges brought against him.

Additionally, a senior Western diplomat with firsthand knowledge of the ICC case told the Jerusalem Post last week that Khan issued the warrants against the Israeli leaders in order to “give countries like Germany and Canada the excuse they need to turn against the Israeli government.”

Mexican Navy Ship Attacks Brooklyn Bridge! 2 dead, 17 hurt

 

A massive Mexican navy tall ship making a festive visit to New York slammed into the Brooklyn Bridge late Saturday, toppling one of its huge masts into the deck in a horrifying scene that left multiple crew members seriously injured, according to fire officials and sources.*

A search and rescue operation was underway to pull people out of the water after one of the towering 147-foot masts on the Cuauhtémoc — which has a crew of 277 — collided with the bridge’s road deck just before 9 p.m., sources told The Post.

Victims are being transported to the Brooklyn Navy Yard, with those in critical condition being taken to a nearby hospital for additional treatment.

Leaked Audio Highlights Biden’s Mental Lapses

 

Newly released audio obtained by Axios reveals moments during a 2023 interview between then-special counsel Robert Hur and former  President Joe Biden in which Biden appeared to struggle with recalling key personal and historical details.

According to Axios, Biden seemed uncertain about the year his late son, Beau Biden, passed away and incorrectly identified the year Donald Trump was elected president. Beau Biden died of brain cancer in 2015, and Trump was elected in November 2016.

In one exchange, Hur asked Biden about the handling of documents related to his post-vice-presidency initiatives, including the Penn Biden Center, the Biden Institute, and the Cancer Moonshot. Biden responded, hesitating: “Well… I, I, I, I, I, I don’t know. This is what — 2017, 2018, that area?”

Biden then referred to the emotional toll he was experiencing at the time, saying, “Remember, in this time frame, my son is either been deployed or is dying.” He added that people had still been encouraging him to run for office, though then-President Obama did not believe he had the best chance of winning.

The recording also captures Biden asking, “What month did Beau die? Oh, God, May 30? Was it 2015 he died? I think it’s 2015,” and mistakenly questioning whether “Trump gets elected in November of 2017?”

These excerpts align with previous reports from Breitbart News, which in March 2024 detailed several memory lapses shown in the transcript of the same interview. The Biden administration previously declined to release the audio, citing executive privilege in May 2024 after House Republicans issued a subpoena for the recordings.

According to Breitbart, Special Counsel Hur investigated Biden’s handling of classified documents found at multiple locations. Despite noting that Biden had “willfully retained” these documents, Hur declined to recommend charges. His decision was influenced, in part, by Biden’s diminished mental sharpness. Hur’s February 2024 report stated that a jury would likely view Biden as “a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,” making a conviction difficult.

Trump Tears Into Bruce Springstein "Dumb as a Rock"

 

President Donald Trump used social media to tear into “dumb as a rock” Bruce Springsteen for criticizing him and his administration while performing overseas.

During the opening night of a European tour with his E Street Band on Wednesday in Manchester, England, Springsteen told the crowd that America “is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous administration.”

Trump commented about the left-leaning liberal musician on his social media platform Friday morning.

“I see that Highly Overrated Bruce Springsteen goes to a Foreign Country to speak badly about the President of the United States,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “Never liked him, never liked his music, or his Radical Left Politics and, importantly, he’s not a talented guy — Just a pushy, obnoxious JERK, who fervently supported Crooked Joe Biden, a mentally incompetent FOOL, and our WORST EVER President, who came close to destroying our Country.

“If I wasn’t elected, it would have been GONE by now! Sleepy Joe didn’t have a clue as to what he was doing, but Springsteen is ‘dumb as a rock,’ and couldln’t see what was going on, or could he (which is even worse!)? This dried out ‘prune’ of a rocker (his skin is all atrophied!) ought to KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT until he gets back into the Country, that’s just ‘standard fare.’ Then we’ll all see how it goes for him!”

Springsteen has been a longtime supporter of the Democratic Party and is a close friend of former President Barack Obama, The Guardian reported. The rock ‘n’ roll star campaigned for Obama during two presidential runs.

Springsteen also supported the campaigns of former President Joe Biden and former Vice President Kamala Harris.

During a short Instagram video in which he endorsed Harris, Springsteen said Trump was “the most dangerous candidate for president in my lifetime.”

Springsteen, 75, performed a series of concerts for Harris in late October, when he was joined by Obama.

James Comey escorted from his home as he's investigated for making 'threat' against Donald Trump

 

Former FBI Director James Comey was escorted from his home to be interviewed by the Secret Service about a social media post that Republicans insisted was a call for violence against President Donald Trump.

CNN showed video of Comey, 64, leaving his house in his suburban Virginia and heading to the Secret Service’s Washington field office just before 6pm.

The interview is part of an ongoing Trump administration investigation and is expected to help investigators assess the purpose and intent of the post, and whether Comey intended to communicate a threat to the president, which he flatly denied.

Any decision on whether charges should be filed would be up to Attorney General Pam Bondi, Trump said on Friday, though there's a high bar in proving that comments or posts amount to direct threats of violence.

The interview is standard for the Secret Service while investigating comments perceived as potentially threatening.

At issue is an Instagram post from Thursday in which Comey wrote 'cool shell formation on my beach walk' under a picture of seashells that appeared to form the shapes for '86 47.'

The Merriam-Webster dictionary says 86 is slang meaning 'to throw out,' 'to get rid of' or 'to refuse service to.'

 It notes: 'Among the most recent senses adopted is a logical extension of the previous ones, with the meaning of 'to kill.' We do not enter this sense, due to its relative recency and sparseness of use.'

Numerous Trump administration officials, including Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, asserted that Comey was advocating the assassination of Trump, the 47th president. 

FBI Director Kash Patel said the bureau was also supporting the investigation.

When asked about it on Friday during a Fox News interview, Trump said: 'He knew exactly what that meant. A child knows what that meant. If you're the FBI director and you don't know what that meant, that meant assassination. And it says it loud and clear.'

He deflected a question on what he thought should happen, saying the decision would be up to Bondi.

The post was deleted on Thursday after it was made, with Comey subsequently writing: 'I posted earlier a picture of some shells I saw today on a beach walk, which I assumed were a political message. I didn't realize some folks associate those numbers with violence.'

“It never occurred to me but I oppose violence of any kind so I took the post down,” the now-crime novelist wrote.

Trump was wounded by an assassin’s bullet at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvanie on July 13, 2024, and then almost  shot at by another would-be assassin at his West Palm Beach, Florida golf course on September 15, 2024.  

Trump and Comey have had a fraught relationship dating back nearly a decade.

Comey was the FBI director when Trump took office in 2017, having been appointed four years earlier by then-President Barack Obama and serving before that as a senior Justice Department official in President George W. Bush's administration.

Dutch photographer and filmmaker Jeroen Wolf has shown the drastic effects of 10-years of aging on people's faces in a short film.

He took headshots of 50 of his school friends — once on their 50th birthdays and again a decade later, with stunning results.

Mr Wolf told the Daily Mail that the comparisons were 'definitely confronting' for some of his subjects, and in a small preview he held for the film, some people refused to look when their faces appeared. 

Some participants have aged better than others, with milder wrinkles over time.

Along with facial lines, another noticeable difference as the subjects speak is their teeth in the two shots. 

Some people have more visible stains at the age of 60.

I was also a pregnant woman traveling with my husband on the roads of Samaria when we were ambushed by a squad of terrorists who opened fire on our car. My beloved husband, Shuli, was murdered. I was wounded and rushed into emergency surgery. Our daughter Sara was born in the sixth month of pregnancy, three hours after her father was killed. Her life was hanging by a thread.

I saw Tzeela Gez in my mind — and her husband, whom I pray will recover. I imagined their excitement, their joy as they headed to the hospital. I imagined how they decided: now is the time. In the past month, you opened numerous checkpoints throughout Judea and Samaria, even as terror cells continued to roam freely. And what concerns you most is how Jews might react?

Look within: how did it come to this?

A woman was murdered on her way to the delivery room — and it’s on you.

You opened checkpoints even though you knew a terror cell was operating in the area — the same cell responsible for four recent attacks and attempted attacks. And why? To “avoid disrupting the enemy’s daily routine.”

You perpetuated the shameful policies of your predecessor, Yehuda Fox. Even when the defense minister canceled administrative detentions, you rushed to override the political decision with deportation orders.

You allowed the antisemitic and disgraceful ‘Massuah’ program — a program that labels Jews as enemies — to remain intact. A program that demonizes the righteous residents of Judea and Samaria (The Masuah Museum in Kibbutz Tel Yitzhak, ostensibly dedicated to commemorating the Holocaust, has been accused of pushing an extremely leftist political line comparing right-wing Israeli politics to Nazi Germany – DI).

You were given the tools and the political support to eliminate the threat in Judea and Samaria, but you chose to act like a timid bureaucrat in a war zone filled with terrorists and weapons. And once again, you failed.

I gave you a chance. I wanted to believe you would be different from those who came before you.

But enough is enough.

Terrorist who murdered Tze’ela Gez eliminated by IDF

IDF forces on Shabbos arrested a Palestinian Authority Arab in the village of Burqin, near Bruchin, and killed another individual in the village. Security officials believe that one of the two was connected to the terror attack in Bruchin in which Tze’ela Gez was murdered.

"As part of the IDF and ISA’s efforts to locate the terrorist who carried out the shooting attack in which Tze'ela Gez was murdered, the IDF conducted targeted searches in the area of Bruchin, adjacent to the scene of the attack, with the direction of the ISA," a joint statement said.

On Shabbos morning, several suspects believed to have been involved in the terror attack were apprehended.

During the apprehension of one of the suspects, a terrorist was identified running toward the forces while holding a backpack suspected of being booby-trapped, shouting "Allahu Akbar."

In response to the immediate threat, the soldiers eliminated the terrorist. No IDF injuries were reported. The IDF is currently verifying the identity of the suspect and whether he intended to carry out an attack.

"The inquiry into the terrorist attack is being led by the ISA and the Israel Police and remains ongoing," the statement added. "The IDF, ISA and Israel Police will continue to operate in order to protect the civilians of Israel."

The manhunt for the terrorist has continued since the attack occurred on Wednesday night. On Thursday, Duvdevan special forces surrounded buildings in the village of Tamun where suspects were believed to be hiding. After an exchange of fire, five suspects were eliminated and one was arrested.

The IDF stated that the terrorists were advancing “significant military terrorist activity,” and searches at the scene uncovered three M-16 rifles and four vests used by the suspects.

Meanwhile, undercover Border Police officers from the Judea and Samaria District arrested three armed terrorists in Tubas. Six M-16 rifles, a handgun, a grenade, and other equipment were seized. Additionally, ready-to-use explosives were discovered in the building where the terrorists were hiding.
