Pro-Iranian Terrorist Arrested in Syria, Now Being Investigated in Israel

Israel Defense Forces special forces captured a pro-Iranian terrorist operative during a raid in Syria, the military confirmed on Sunday, publishing footage from his interrogation by intelligence officers.

The raid across the Jewish state’s northern border was carried out in “recent months” by members of the Egoz commando unit, along with field interrogators of the Military Intelligence Directorate’s Unit 504.

Ali Soleiman al-Assi, a Syrian national from Saida in the southern part of the country, was tasked by Tehran with “gathering intelligence on IDF troops in the border area for future terror activity of the network,” the Israeli military announced in a post on social media on Sunday night.

“The operation prevented a future attack and led to the exposure of the operational methods of Iranian terror networks located near the Golan Heights. Al-Assi was transferred for further investigation,” it added.

“The IDF will not allow Iranian proxies in southern Syria to operate and threaten Israeli civilians,” the army statement concluded.

Earlier on Sunday, the Saudi state-owned Al-Hadath television news channel reported that Israeli commandos entered Syria and detained a Syrian citizen working with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The IDF military raid was said to have taken place in July of this year.

In the video footage shared by the IDF, Al-Assi describes to interrogators how he was approached by Iran, saying a man came to his home and told him, “Your area is good, strategically, we could make use of it.

“And then he told me, you need to work with us. What does working with you mean? Just to observe on the borders,” the Syrian continued. “He told me he’s from military intelligence … but in reality, Iran is behind them. From what I understood, he belongs to Iran.”

On Friday, Jerusalem’s elite Shayetet 13 naval commando unit captured a senior Hezbollah terrorist in northern Lebanon. The terror operative, identified as Imad Amhaz, is considered to be a “significant source of knowledge” in the terror group’s naval force, according to the IDF.

Amhaz is likewise being interrogated by the Military Intelligence Directorate’s Unit 504, which specializes in human intelligence.

Israeli forces have accelerated work on enhancing defensive measures near the Syrian border in the Golan Heights in recent weeks, Reuters reported last week, citing local security sources and analysts.

Troops have cleared land mines and established new barriers on the frontier between the area in the far northeast of Israel and the demilitarized strip bordering Syria, according to the report.

The move suggests Jerusalem could be looking to hit Hezbollah for the first time along Lebanon’s eastern border; while establishing a secure zone from which IDF soldiers can monitor the terrorist army and prevent infiltrations into Israel, sources told the news agency.

IDF were disguised as Lebanese security forces in Hezbollah operative's capture

A day after an Israeli naval commando unit captured a suspected Hezbollah operative, new details emerged on the raid.

According to Al-Akhbar – a newspaper with close ties to Hezbollah – the unit disguised as Lebanese security forces and the raid, which lasted merely four minutes and took place in Al-Bateroun on Friday, involved approximately 20 operatives and several civilians, whose identities remain unclear.

Al-Akhbar, a newspaper with close ties to Hezbollah, reports that the target building where the suspect was captured contained several residential units. "The operation shocked official entities. However, silence prevailed in relevant senior officials' offices, military institutions, and security forces, while 'sovereignty advocates' remained quiet, awaiting investigation results," the newspaper stated.

The Lebanese government expressed protest through Prime Minister Najib Mikati's statement, while Labor Minister Ali Hamiyeh explained that the detainee, Imad Amhaz, had taken a course at a civilian institute training him for commercial vessels and yachts navigation. The building owner stated that Amhaz had rented the apartment about a month ago.

Lebanese media sources reported that the force approached the shore using speedboats and military equipment, departing the same way with support from a larger vessel. The apartment search revealed ten SIM cards and foreign passports. While one security camera footage leaked, the rest was deleted.

Furthermore, Al-Akhbar quoted sources highlighting several points. They claimed there was "no military or security presence of Hezbollah" in the raid area. Secondly, the sources stated there was "no confirmation" that the detainee was a Hezbollah member.

According to the report, Amhaz had previously completed maritime courses two years ago and returned two months ago for additional training, while seeking to apply for a position in the Lebanese Navy's maritime force. The sources also raised questions about the role of the army and Lebanese security forces in failing to prevent the raid.

NYC Infested With Over 3 Million Rats But Go after one single rat ...a Family Pet

The owner of P’nut the Squirrel gave a tearful statement on TikTok, Saturday about the tiny creature’s death at the hands of New York State officials.

Mark Longo, joined by his wife, sobbed through his prepared remarks on the killing of his beloved best friend.

“I’m angry, I’m sad, I’m disgusted,” Longo said while choking back his emotions in a clip of a TikTok live.
“We fight and work everyday to pay our state taxes and they turn around and they do this to a family,” Longo said.

New York State and the Department of Environmental Conservation have faced mass public blowback for their actions.

Many of the DEC’s social media posts have gotten  hundreds of comments from outraged supporters of P’nut the Squirrel.

The animal rescuer also thanked his fans and the general public for “unbelievable support.” A GoFundMe set up by Longo in P’nut’s honor has raised over $73,000.

The couple also say that they are inundated with warm messages from supporters.

Longo also said that he will continue to post photos and content of P’nut “in his best days.”

Longo told The Post that he felt like a “terrorist” when state authorities came into his home on Wednesday.

Agents from the DEC went through the Pine City residence for five hours — making Longo and his wife wait outside the entire time — after obtaining a warrant to search the premises.

Longo, 34, said he and his wife weren’t even allowed to use their own bathrooms during the invasive raid without a police escort — “who checked the back of the toilet to see if I was hiding anything there.”

The warrant stemmed from anonymous complaints of an animal that is a known vector for rabies, namely, Fred the raccoon.

On Friday, the DEC announced that it had euthanized both P’nut and Fred to test them for rabies.

The department claimed in a statement Thursday that P’nut, who was notably friendly and docile through the course of his public facing life, had bitten an agent and needed to be tested for rabies.

Longo has expressed skepticism about this claim.

“I watched everybody put gloves on before they entered my house. They had gloves that you get an eagle to land on,” he told The Post.

He is demanding an investigation into the department’s rationale and actions and is filing a motion to get the medical records of the officials in his house to see if they actually test positive for the very rare disease.

Israel missed its chance to strike Iran's nuclear sites John Bolton

John Bolton, former United States National Security Advisor wrote in an op-ed in the New York Post, claiming that, "Israel lost a perfect opportunity to cripple Iran’s nuclear-weapons program during its strike against Iran this week."

The targets actually selected, air defense and missile-production facilities, were entirely legitimate. Undoubtedly, both Iran’s defensive and offensive capabilities suffered significant damage.

"Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government did not strike Iran’s gravest threat: the existential danger of nuclear holocaust against Israel. And the mullahs’ nuclear aspirations — including the threat of Tehran transferring nuclear devices to international terrorist groups — also pose grave dangers to the United States, Gulf Arab countries and many others," he explained.

Bolton blames the decision on US pressure and noted that no matter the results of the impending elections, Israel may not find any increased sympathy from the Oval Office. Vice-President Kamala Harris is likely to be no more friendly than President Joe Biden, and with the votes cast, Biden himself may decide to act against Israel in the remainder of his term.

As for Donald Trump, Bolton wrote, "Donald Trump’s stance is murky. To those who think Trump will support Israel as he did in his first term, I say simply: think again. Trump’s dislike of Netanyahu is palpable, and, constitutionally barred from winning another term, the importance of US electoral politics to Trump will be much less than before. Trump came within an eyelash of meeting with Javad Zarif, Iran’s former foreign minister, in 2019. He could easily do so in a second term, always in search of a deal, any deal he believes makes him look good."

He concludes that Israel's best target is Iranian nuclear infrastructure. Bolton notes that it constitutes both a military target and a symbol of the regime, making striking it a "conclusive blow" to public support of the regime amongst Iranians. Additionally, and more importantly in terms of reducing international pressure, it does not affect the global fuel market, a significant concern for many of Israel's allies.

"The votes in the USA will have been cast - but Tehran still has a vote to cast as well. Ultimately, the choice will be Israel's," he notes.

Shneur Zalman Cohen from Yitzhar fell in battle in Gaza

The Samaria Regional Council on Saturday night announced that Shneur Zalman Cohen, a resident of Yitzhar, fell in battle in Gaza.

Cohen, 20, is survived by his parents, Ze'ev and Dina, and eight siblings. Raised in Yitzhar, he served in the Givati Brigade, and studied in the Mitzpeh Yitzhar yeshiva. His family, Chabad-Lubavitch hasidim, are among the most veteran families in the town.

He is the 25th resident of the Samaria Regional Council to fall in the war. The Cohen family was supported over Shabbat (the Sabbath) by professional teams from the Council and the town.

Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan mourned, "Shneur was a person with inner grace which shined outward. He learned Torah, and he was also a talented fighter. Before he enlisted, he volunteered in the regional defense. He was raised by a family of true pioneers, Dina and Ze'ev Cohen, who moved - at the height of the Oslo war - the Second Intifada - to live in Sa-Nur and strengthen the towns of northern Samaria. They are dedicated to all of the town's needs. Since October 7, his father has been serving in the reserves, in the regional defense of Samaria."

"The Samaria Regional Council will support the family with everything it needs. The entire Samaria family is mourning and embraces the Cohen family."

"I have known the family for over 20 years. We are sad, but we will never break. We will continue to support the IDF, we will continue the settlements. We are very pained, we are sad and hurting. But we swear: We will never break! We will support the IDF and we will give strength to the security forces and the State of Israel - forever. We will support the settlements even more - in Yitzhar and throughout all of Judea and Samaria, the Gaza border area, and the north. We will support the military and civilian victory, and through the bravery of these holy ones - we will win."

Israeli special forces capture senior Hezbollah officer

Lebanese reports on Saturday said that an Israeli military force raided an area near the coastal city of Batroun, and took a senior Hezbollah official captive.

An Israeli security source confirmed to Sky News Arabic that "a special operation was carried out, in which a person was taken captive in northern Lebanon."

Arab news outlets reported that a large naval force, suspected to be Israeli, arrived at the Batroun coast in northern Lebanon and captured a Hezbollah operative staying in a hut in the area, around 140 kilometers from the Israeli border. According to the reports, the operation included over 25 fighters, and was coordinated with the UNIFIL forces stationed in Lebanon.

Al Hadath has named the individual as Imad Amhaz, an officer in the Lebanese Navy.

However, Lebanon's Transportation Minister, Ali Hamie, told Al Jadeed that Amhaz is a captain who commands civilian and commercial ships. He studied in a civilian institution.

Candice Ardil, deputy director of UNIFIL's information office, denied any connection to "the trapping or a violation of Lebanese sovereignty."

Rabbi Kalman Ber elected Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi of Israel

Rabbi Kalman Ber, the Chief Rabbi of Netanya, was elected on Thursday to serve as the Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi of Israel. The newly elected Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi is an alumnus of Kerem Beyavne hesder yeshiva, taught there for many years after his hesder army service in the Nachal Brigade and was elected Netanya Chief Rabbi in 2014. He is related to the Rosh Yeshiva of Merkaz Harav, Rabbi Yaakov Shapira.

The elections were held between 12:00 and 4:00 p.m. at the Chief Rabbinate headquarters in Jerusalem. 136 out of the 140 members of the electoral body participated in the voting.

The four members of the body who did not cast their votes were Emek Hefer Regional Council head Galit Shaul, the Rabbi of Rechasim Yaakov Sonnenfeld, MK Yitzhak Kroizer (Otzma Yehudit), and Bat Yam Mayor Tzvika Brot.

Rabbi Ber received 77 votes while his opponent, Petah Tikva Chief Rabbi Micha Halevi received only 58 votes.

The election on Thursday was a runoff after the two candidates tied during the first round last month, both receiving 40 votes.

During the initial round of voting, Rabbi David Yosef, the son of Rabbi Ovadia Yosef z”l, and the brother of the former Chief Rabbi, Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef, was elected as Sephardic Chief Rabbi, having received 72 votes.

Zionists Discover Mechanism to Eliminate Tumors

Israeli researchers have stumbled on a way to stimulate the immune system to fight cancer cells, including in types of the disease considered resistant to prevailing forms of immunotherapy, Tel Aviv University announced on Wednesday.

The “chance technological breakthrough” by the university’s Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences essentially reverses a mechanism in cancer patients that prevents the immune system from attacking tumors, the university said.

The academic lab that made the discovery studies both cancer and the effects of ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun on the skin and body, both of which are known to suppress the immune system.

“While in most cases, we cancer researchers worldwide focus on the tumor and look for mechanisms by which cancer inhibits the immune system, here we proposed a different approach: investigating how UV exposure suppresses the immune system and applying our findings to cancer,” said TAU Prof. Carmit Levy, one of the leaders in the study.

“The discovery of a mechanism that inhibits the immune system opens new paths for innovative therapies,” she said.

The researchers found that after exposure to UV radiation, the immune system’s T cells—that play a critical role in fighting cancer—begin to express high levels of the protein Ly6a, said PhD student Avishai Maliah.

“We suspected that Ly6a serves as a brake through which UV inhibits the immune system, and that by releasing this brake, optimal activation of the immune system might be resumed,” he added.

He treated cancer in the lab with Ly6a antibodies, and the tumors were significantly reduced. Moreover, cancers resistant to known treatments reacted substantially to Ly6a antibodies.

“Immunotherapy has revolutionized the treatment of cancer,” noted TAU Prof. Yaron Carmi, a global expert on the immune system and co-author of the study. “However, about 50% of the patients do not respond to the currently prevailing treatment.”

The Israeli team is now working to translate their findings into a drug for cancer patients, hoping to offer an effective new treatment.

The research has been published in the peer-reviewed Nature Communications journal.

Chief Kapo .. "Shmuck" Schumer A damning report reveals he quietly advised Columbia leaders to ignore criticism of campus antisemitism

The House Committee on Education and the Workforce’s report sheds light on Senator Chuck Schumer’s controversial role in Columbia University’s response to campus anti-Semitism.

According to the report, first published Thursday by the Washington Beacon’s Adam Kredo, Schumer advised former Columbia President Minouche Shafik to downplay and ignore congressional criticism, reassuring her that “the university’s political problems are really only among Republicans.” He suggested that university leadership “keep heads down” rather than confront anti-Semitic incidents openly. This guidance was perceived as politically motivated rather than genuinely protective of students.

Furthermore, as anti-Israel protests escalated on campuses—including incidents of intimidation and harassment of Jewish students—Schumer’s private stance diverged sharply from his public position. When protests turned violent at Columbia’s Morningside Heights campus, Schumer publicly condemned the “lawlessness,” yet privately encouraged Columbia’s leaders to avoid inquiries from Republicans, reinforcing a partisan divide over a significant campus safety issue.

The report argues that this approach contributed to a culture in which universities, including Columbia and Harvard, treated anti-Semitism as a public relations issue rather than enforcing protections under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act. This stance arguably allowed anti-Semitic demonstrations to escalate unchecked into open hostility on campuses across the country. The committee asserts that Schumer’s guidance to avoid accountability and regard anti-Semitism as merely a political inconvenience ultimately compromised the safety and rights of Jewish students.

Former NYS Assemblyman Dov Hikind slammed Schumer calling him A “Kapo in Our time”, a fraud, and a traitor.
