Israeli & American Jews live on different planets

Some years ago, a book made the rounds which was called “Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus” – which basically said that each gender is accustomed to its own set of values and rules – and metaphorically speaking live on different planets.

The same can be said for American Jews vis a vis Israel. American Jews live in another universe where they think that the Palestinian Arabs, "settlements" and Iran are the things dominating Israeli discussions. In fact, after having spent the summer in Israel, I can say that I heard very few discussions on these issues.

In Israel, people (naturally) think about family, work and life. Common complaints these days? Traffic. Real Estate pricing. Schools. And other issues of day-to-day life.

If one listened to American Jews on Israel, one would think that the so-called “occupation”, Iranian nukes or the ongoing election cycle are the biggest issues facing Israel – but if you listened to Israelis, not at all. The reality is vis-à-vis foreign and military issues, there is very little difference between the major political parties in the upcoming elections. There’s no one on the Palestinian Arab side to speak with and Israelis uniformly believe Iran cannot or will not be allowed to obtain nukes.

In 2022 Israel was ranked the 9th happiest country in the world in the annual UN-sponsored World Happiness index. It came in 12th last year, up from 14th in 2020. Having spent time in Israel my entire life, I can say that it’s the first time I can remember that people simply don’t want to leave Israel.

Media Silent as Hamas Executes 5 Gazans for Treason and Murder

Jibril Carmut, executed by Hamas. Sept. 4, 2022

Israel has a lot to learn from Hamas. The Israelis should have lined up the murderers of Jewish children and executed them at the same time that Hamas executed their murderers.

The executions took place at the al-Juazat headquarters in Gaza City in the presence of Mukhtars, professionals, and members of the victims’ families (in the cases of murder).

The names of 4 of the executed individuals are:

1. Jibril Carmut

2. Khaled a-Samari

3. Na’el Ahl

4. Murad Abu Zeid

The Hamas Ministry of the Interior said the convicts were given the right to appeal their sentences. The executed were given a chance to meet their families before the executions.

Jibril Carmut was convicted a mere month-and-a-half ago for killing a Hamas policeman and a girl during a clan battle a few months ago, which would seem not quite enough time for a proper appeal process.

Murad Abu Zeid killed his victim, Amit Sharaab, in 2013. The family of the victim is opening a mourners tent for the first time, now that his murderer has been executed.

According to Palestinian Authority law, those executions orders required the signature of PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, but Hamas didn’t wait for his signature.

Yehuda Glick detained on Har Habyit for listening to shofar on a cell phone

On Sunday morning, former Knesset member Yehuda Glick visited the Temple Mount and was detained by police after broadcasting the sound of the shofar (a ram's horn, blown daily in the month leading up to Rosh Hashanah, the Day of Judgment) via his cell phone.

Documentation from the scene shows Glick broadcasting the shofar blast via what appears to be a YouTube application, and a police officer approaching him just minutes later, and detaining him.

Libs of Tik Toc Back and threating Twitter with Lawsuit

Last week, I was wrongfully suspended from Twitter for seven days after I exposed a hospital that admitted to performing gender-affirming hysterectomies on healthy minors. I say “wrongfully” because the reason given for my suspension was hateful conduct. I did not engage in hateful conduct. I accurately reported the truth.

My biggest fan, Taylor Lorenz, wrote another hit piece about me yesterday claiming that Twitter executives are facing “internal pressure from some employees to respond more aggressively” to my account. The only thing more aggressive than a seven day suspension would be a permanent ban. But if that happens — if they ban my account for hateful conduct when all I’ve done is report the facts — then I’ll sue them for breach of contract. I’ll also bring claims under California state law and the California Constitution.

Here’s a link to the letter I sent Twitter a few days ago, putting them on notice:

NY Attorney General Letitia James Has a felon in her midst

Former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley has an overwhelming case that the state Attorney General’s Office illegally leaked confidential tax documents ID’ing donors to her nonprofit , Stand For America, Inc. Haley’s lawsuit aside, AG Tish James has a duty to find the felon working for her.

Harboring a criminal who abused power for nakedly partisan purposes is a very bad look for New York’s top law-enforcement official.

The proof: Politico’s article listing the donors, which shared unredacted pages of Stand For America’s 2019 tax filing, clearly marked with the AG’s official stamp.

SFA is a political-advocacy outfit (barred from candidate advocacy as a nonprofit) that plainly serves to help promote Haley’s ambitions, including a possible 2024 prez run. That makes the info prime fodder for Politico, which got the doc from Documented, an activist group that claims to target “dark money” in politics. The felon in James’ office presumably gave it to fellow-believers.

SFA, like other nonprofits, must file an annual tax return with the IRS — but has no obligation to publicly disclose its donors. It’s one of countless advocacy groups (left, right and center — including many that “belong” to other ambitious politicians) that opts not to.

New York’s AG gets copies of the tax docs from all nonprofits that operate in the state; it’s obvious that one of James’ staff (most likely a worker in her Charities Bureau) handed a copy to Documented.

The question is: What’s the AG doing about it?

A spokesman for James confirms that all staff undergo mandatory ethics training but declined to discuss any efforts to ID the leaker, nor what safeguards are in place to guard against such crimes or what if any upgrades to security the AG is now considering.

Again: This is a partisan political abuse of law-enforcement powers — and so a blatant assault on a pillar of democracy.

James owes Haley a fulsome apology, and the people of New York a full explanation.

And unless and until the AG gets to the bottom of it and sees the perp fired and prosecuted to the full extent of the law, as well as taking open steps to ensure nothing like it ever happens again, the stain of this rank injustice is on her.

Lieberman Offered Him $100,000 To Kill Police Officer : Former Advisor

A former Yisrael Beiteinu activist and adviser of Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman publicly accused his former boss of offering him $100,000 to murder an assistant police commissioner and other criminal dealings.

The ex-adviser, Yossi Kamisa, wrote in a social media post: “Who are you, Mr. Lieberman?” As someone who was your former assistant, shall we continue to tell who you are? I wrote a post about you two years ago and called you the head of a criminal organization. You were afraid to respond or file a libel suit.”

“I’m turning to Madam Attorney-General [Gali Baharav-Miara] – you have intelligence information on your desk for over a month about a politician who suggested murdering a police commissioner but there is silence in the prosecutor’s department. The question is why?! Politics? I suggest to you, Madam – invite Lieberman and me to a lie detector test.”

Eida Hachchreidis Slaps Their Own "Raavad" Moshe Shternbuch in the face and will NOT appoint him as "Gaavad"

As we reported many times before that the Eida Hachardis is in a civil war. They hate and despise their very own leader Rav Moshe Shternbuch the "Raavad" of the Eida Hachareidis.

When the co-leader of the Eida, R' Tuvia Weiss passed on, all thought that the Eida would naturally appoint R' Moshe S as the new Gaavad in his place, but they voted and 25 voted against his appointment and only 14 voted for him.

Their official announcement was that they will wait 12 months to appoint a new Gaavad., hoping that R' Moshe will Chas Ve'Sholom pass on as he is in his 90's, because as long as he is alive, they cannot replace R' Tuvia Weiss z"l, because that would obviously trigger and cause a violent response from Sternbach's supporters.
Below is a "paskeveil" celebrating R' Shterbach's defeat!

Gingrich: Trump Will Be Indicted for Mishandling Classified Info

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich predicted Thursday night that Donald Trump will be indicted by the Justice Department over allegations that he mishandled top-secret classified documents.

“You have corruption from the Attorney General, to the head of the FBI, to senior elements of the FBI,” he said. “You have collusion from a wide range of the intelligence community. You had, I think it was 50 some intelligence senior officials who signed a letter last year that we now know is a total lie, none of whom have recanted.”

“I fully expect the Justice Department to indict President Trump in a DC court, a district where he got 5.6 percent of the vote. So by 19 to one, the jury is likely to be against him.”

“I have no idea what’s going to happen next,” he added. “I’m a historian by training and I tell everybody you have to assume that nothing, you know, tells you anything about how corrupt and how sick this is going to get. Because you get have fanatic who represent a secular religion who are determined to destroy not just Trump but Trump’s followers. They could do almost anything. We have no way of knowing what the next six months or two years are going to bring.”

Angry man smears half of the people of the country he is supposed to lead

In a rare primetime speech, President Biden trashed the millions of Trump supporters who call themselves MAGA Republicans.

In the divisive speech, Biden the self-proclaimed “unifier” accused MAGA supporters of an “extreme ideology” that essentially threatens “the very foundations of our republic.”

In addition, some were outraged that the stage design and tone of the speech was reminiscent of evil regimes like the Nazis.

Meir Kin Will Not Be Able to Bury His Father in Israel Should he Drop Dead Unless He Gives His Wife a Get

Daniel Schwartz, Chaya Lonna and the Yad LaIsha lawyers Pnina Omer, Morah Dayan , Yifah Blonder, at the Supreme Court. July 2022.

Israel’s Chief Rabbinate Council on Thursday ruled that in difficult cases of get refusal, the burial of the refuser’s relatives must be banned until he grants the get. The decision followed the discussions in a difficult case in which the aguna wife has been stranded for more than 18 years in the US, while her husband succeeded in marrying another woman in California in 2014.

The aguna, Haya Lana, appealed many times to the rabbinical courts in the US, but the husband insisted on refusing to grant her the get and didn’t even bother to show up for the hearings while enjoying his new marital life. In August, Haya Lana submitted a request to the Chief Rabbinate via attorneys Daniel Schwartz and Avraham Ben-Zvi, for an order that as long as the get is not granted, the transfer of bodies and burial in Israel of the husband and his relatives, including his father who is on his deathbed, must be banned.

New entrance to Yerushalayim opens

A new entrance to Jerusalem, Route 16, opened Wednesday and is expected to significantly ease traffic, providing speedy travel between Route 1 and the city’s southern neighborhoods.

Inaugurated on Wednesday by government officials, the six-kilometer (3.7 mile) section connects motorists from Route 1 — the main highway connecting Jerusalem and Tel Aviv — directly into the Givat Mordechai neighborhood.

The road, consisting of four tunnels and seven bridges, also includes 50,000 acres of newly landscaped territory featuring bike paths, walking paths, picnic areas and observation points overlooking the Jerusalem hills.

Sharansky: Gorbachev wouldn’t have released Soviet Jews if not for global pressure

Nice article but there is one thing missing! The giant elephant in the room!

Meir Kahana!
It was Rabbi Meir Kahana that put the plight of the Soviet Jews on the front pages of the New York Slimes!
It was Rabbi Meir Kahana that put pressure on all the Major Jewish Organizations to make this agenda a priority and to advocate for Soviet Jews living behind the Iron Country to bring the issue to Washington DC and to Congress!

I remember that the Gedoilim were against Kahana's ideas to make their plight public. I distinctly remember that the Gedoilim would not allow Yeshiva Students to attend any of Meir Kahana's rallies on behalf of Soviet Jews. They were content with sending care packages to Soviet Jews and sending them Marzos for Pesach. They felt that it was far better to negotiate secretly. This did not move the needle at all and was a dismal failure.

When the Jews were finally allowed to leave, they thanked Rabbi Kahana publicly and not one had a bad word to say about him. I live in Beit Shemesh and there are many Jews living in my neighborhood that lived under the Communist Tyranny, and they all give credit to his initiatives and his tireless selfless work to get them the freedom that they so deserved.
I had the honor to meet Sharanski on many occasions and whenever he spoke he mentioned Rabbi Meir Kahana.
I know that the good rabbi will not get recognition for this work in particular, from the leftists politicians, but wouldn't it be prudent for frum Jews to be "makir tov" and give credit where credit is due? Or am I asking too much?

A response to the Vicious Self-Hating Jew Peter Beinart

It is almost autumn, which means it is time for yet another op-ed from Peter Beinart, professor of journalism and political science, and self-proclaimed visionary for a middle east without a Jewish state. Beinart did not disappoint, publishing his latest piece, deceptively titled “Has the Fight Against Antisemitism Lost Its Way?” in the New York Times on August 26, 2022.

Beinart’s op-eds have all served a similar purpose: to demonstrate that Israel, as a “Jewish State” severely and unjustly oppresses the innocent Palestinian nation, to the point that Israel needs to be unmade and reconfigured as a state for all the peoples living between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea. That the consequences of creating such a polity, in which Jews would be a minority if not immediately then in the near future, would likely include civil war, ethnic cleansing, and perhaps yet another Arab state that will violently purge itself of its Jewish population (as Hamas has promised in its foundational charter) does not seem to bother Beinart. Demonstrating his complete ignorance of history, Beinart takes it as a given that Jews and Arabs will live harmoniously in his imagined multi-national utopia.
