Health Ministry may share information on unvaccinated Israelis with local authorities

The Knesset on Wednesday approved a bill allowing the Health Ministry to transfer information on unvaccinated individuals to local authorities, the Education Ministry's Director General, and welfare authorities.

The bill, which passed its first reading on Monday afternoon, passed its second and third readings on Wednesday, and is now law.

The purpose of the bill is to allow local authorities to encourage residents to receive the vaccine, by turning to them personally and taking other actions which Health Minister Director General Professor Hezi Levi will define.

Under the bill, the Health Ministry may share the names, identification numbers, addresses, and phone numbers of citizens eligible to receive the vaccine who have not yet done so.

In addition, the information will be transferred to the authorities if they actively request it and present a plan for encouraging vaccination among the population included in the database.

However, the bill emphasizes that personal information may not be used to pressure citizens into receiving the vaccination.

Aaron Ross who was sent to Utah school for wayward teens claims he was raped multiple times at 13, forced to give staff oral sex, drugged and thrown in solitary confinement

Ross is pictured at age 13 -two months before he was sent to Provo Canyon.

A 13-year-old was allegedly raped multiple times at a Utah school for wayward teens where Paris Hilton also testified she was abused and sexually assaulted.

In an exclusive interview with DailyMailTV, Aaron Ross, 33, claimed he was forced to give a staff member oral sex when he was 13, was heavily drugged, denied food and locked in a 6ft-square cement 'isolation room' for days on end at Provo Canyon School, south of Salt Lake City, Utah.

DailyMailTV has also obtained a 2013 police report detailing Ross' claims, and data of 911 calls obtained via the Freedom of Information Act which reveal dozens of child abuse and sexual assault reports at the school's two campuses from 2012 to 2019.

The teen treatment center, where a 12-month stay reportedly costs up to $300,000, has faced previous accusations of beating, drugging and sexually abusing its clients.

Paris Hilton, 39, slammed the institution in her 2020 documentary "This Is Paris," and this month gave tearful testimony to Utah lawmakers that she was 'verbally, mentally, and physically abused on a daily basis' there aged 16.

Aaron Ross, 33, attended Provo Canyon school in Salt Lake City, Utah as a teen and claimed he was forced to give a staff member oral sex, he tells DailyMailTV

Biden's Purim Rabbi Pushes "Sex Changes" for Kids.... Yes Kids!

Dr. "Rachel" Levine

This clown who calls him/herself Levine infamously forced COVID-19 patients out of hospitals and into nursing homes and long-term care facilities, exacerbating the spread of the virus to the elderly and infirm, among whom it proved to be most lethal. Levine repeatedly downplayed this criticism, arguing it was a necessary part of the state’s coronavirus response, and that COVID-19 was already present in those facilities.

While the draconian treatment of local Pennsylvania governments and the COVID-19 nursing home scandal should be enough to call Dr. Levine’s nomination into question, Levine’s commitment to imposing a radical gender ideology on our nation’s children should perhaps be of even greater concern to the Senate HELP Committee.

Most alarmingly, Dr. Levine has advocated for sex changes for pre-pubertal people, otherwise known as “children.”

A pregnant pause to consider vaccine denial

A tragedy that befell a Jerusalem family this week and resonated throughout the country should serve as a cautionary tale. A pregnant mother of four was admitted last Tuesday to the COVID-19 intensive-care unit of Hadassah Medical Center-Ein Kerem with respiratory problems.

By Saturday night, despite the best efforts of doctors in various fields, as well as a team of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) experts, Osnat Ben Shitrit went into multi-system failure. Her 30-week fetus, also infected with coronavirus, was delivered by emergency caesarian section but didn’t survive.

Ben Shitrit’s bitter end struck a national nerve. The thought of an Israeli “everywoman”—with little children and another on the way—having her life come to such a halt is a terrifying proposition.

It’s particularly scary right now, with at least 50 pregnant women currently hospitalized with COVID-19, some in serious condition.

11 passengers on El Al allegedly forged certificates they tested COVID-19 negative.

Is there any room left in hell for these guys?

Passengers of an El Al rescue flight were asked to enter isolation after it became clear that 11 passengers had allegedly forged certificates that they had undergone coronavirus tests.

"They did what they wanted. They did not wear masks for many hours, stood close to our seats praying or having conversations and no one did anything," said one passenger in a conversation with Mako. "We turned to the flight attendants' staff, we asked them to make sure they wore masks, but they reassured us that everything was fine that we were just panicking."

In the last few hours, the Ministry of Health has involved the Home Front Command and the GSS in an attempt to check whether the passengers have indeed forged the tests they presented.

El Al responded: "All flights operated by the company are carried out in accordance with the guidelines of the various authorities. El Al is careful to maintain the health of passengers and all crews on the ground and in the air. El Al is currently developing a concept of 'safe flight' in which tests will be performed before, during, and after boarding flight. The passengers' claims were forwarded to the operational authorities and we are investigating the allegations with the flight crew and with the station."

Israel Hatzalah to suspend all unvaccinated volunteers

In a move that some may see as controversial, United Hatzalah Founder and President Eli Beer has instructed the chapter heads of all regions in Israel, Jewish, Muslim, and Christian, both secular and religious, to make sure that all of the volunteers under their jurisdiction have received the Coronavirus vaccine, or are recovering patients, by March 7th. Should a volunteer decide not to receive the vaccine, they will be suspended from all duties, and after a grace period, removed from the organization altogether.

“I don’t see this as controversial,” said Beer. “I see it as our duty in saving lives. As medical personnel and first responders, we are at risk, and we can endanger others if we aren't vaccinated. We’ve had a number of volunteers in the past contract the virus because they responded to an emergency prior to the vaccines being available and in spite of the precautions they took. I don’t want any of our volunteers getting sick, or their families getting sick. G-d forbid I don’t want any of our volunteers passing the virus on to a patient either,” Beer explained.

To date, nearly 90 percent of the 6,000 plus volunteers who make up the organization have already received at least the first vaccine. According to the new policy, those who have a legitimate medical reason why they will not be receiving the vaccine, such as pregnant women in their first trimester, will need to submit a request to the organization’s medical department requesting a special exemption for the time being. Upon receiving the temporary exemption, they will then only be allowed to respond to some of the medical emergencies, where the risk of contracting the coronavirus is low.

In addition to making sure that all of its volunteers have been vaccinated, United Hatzalah, in partnership with the Claims Conference, has taken upon itself the task of making sure that all homebound Holocaust survivors throughout the country have the ability and opportunity to be vaccinated as well.

“Volunteers who do not have the vaccine, will not be allowed to respond to any respiratory emergencies, any emergency where someone in the home is in isolation or sick with the disease, or any emergency involving a fever, as well as others. I myself have already received both vaccines even though I already had the virus. I’ve personally experienced what this virus can do to someone and how terrible it is. The damage that can be caused by an unvaccinated person passing on the virus is unfathomable, and I don’t want our volunteers to be responsible for that,” Beer concluded.

DemonRats Keep Lying About Jan 6 Capital Protests

If you still think Democrats still think ex-President Donald Trump’s speech incited the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, you aren’t paying attention. The claim was impeachment bait that expired when the former president was acquitted

Ever since, Dems have been shifting toward another politically convenient bogeyman. Their latest claim is that there was nothing spontaneous about the riot, that it was a plot from the start.

“It was a planned insurrection, we know that now,” Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota said after a Tuesday congressional hearing. A fellow Dem, Sen. Gary Peters of Michigan, echoed her, calling the riot “domestic terrorism” by white supremacists and others. He likened the intelligence failure to see it coming to the failure to stop 9/11.

As Lily Tomlin once said, “No matter how cynical you become, it’s never enough to keep up.”

So it is now as Dems keep finding ways to use Jan. 6 for partisan purposes. Even something as awful as that day cannot be treated honestly and with facts, lest a crisis go to waste.

Netanyahu's biblical Purim message to Iran's 'delusional' rulers

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday issued a warning to the regime in Tehran ahead of Passover, the holiday that marks the Jewish people’s rescue from annihilation at the hands of Haman in ancient Persia.

“On the eve of Purim, I would like to say to … Iran and its proxies in the Middle East that 2,500 years ago, another Persian villain tried to destroy the Jewish people, and just as he failed then, so, too, will you fail today,” Netanyahu said during the state memorial ceremony for early Zionist activist Joseph Trumpeldor and his comrades, who fell in the Battle of Tel Hai in the northern Galilee on March 1, 1920.

“We will not allow your extremist and aggressive regime to attain nuclear weapons,” continued Netanyahu, according to excerpts of his speech released by his office. “We have not made the journey of generations, of thousands of years, to return to the land of Israel in order to allow the delusional regime of the ayatollahs to end the story of the revival of the Jewish people.”

And, he continued, “we are not pinning our hopes on any agreement with an extremist regime such as yours.”

The comment was an apparent reference to the new administration in Washington expressing a willingness to resume talks to rejoin the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)—the 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and world powers from which former President Trump withdrew in 2018.

“We have already seen the quality of agreements with extremist regimes such as yours, in the past century and in this one, with the government of North Korea,” said Netanyahu. “With or without agreements, we will do everything so that you will not arm yourselves with nuclear weapons.”

Young Israel Council Dumps Entire Pro-Trump Board

The National Council of Young Israel has replaced its entire executive board, a stark move away from its vocally pro-Donald Trump leadership, whose statements had led to controversy in the Orthodox synagogue association.

The council represents more than 100 Orthodox synagogues across the country. It is more than a century old, and in recent years its national officers had sparked backlash from some member synagogues over their embrace of right-wing politics in the United States and Israel.

In 2019, 23 member synagogues objected when the movement was the first Jewish-American organization to defend Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu working with a far-right political party. One of those synagogues, in Atlanta, ended up leaving the movement. Later that year, the national Young Israel gala had the feel of a Jewish Trump rally, with a lineup of Republican officials speaking and red MAGA-style hats on the tables.

Member synagogues elected the new board as a slate last week. The new council president, Rabbi David Warshaw, is a synagogue executive in New York. He said the group will place less of an emphasis on political advocacy.

“We will continue to speak out on Israel,” Warshaw told Jewish Insider, “but the purpose of NCYI is not to be an advocacy organization.”

Student columnist calls white peers returning to campus an ‘invasive species’

A black freshman at Washington DC’s American University recently referred to white students returning to campus as an “invasive species.”

AU is open for “temporary” housing for half of the spring semester, which means approximately 1,250 students will be living on campus between March and May.

Kayla Kelly writes in The Eagle that the housing is a form of “settler colonialism” because most of those taking advantage of the opportunity will be “affluent white students.”

“Settler colonialism is a form of colonialism that replaces the original population with a new invasive species,” Kelly says. “The settler system takes over the space, resources and culture of the environment it encompasses, displacing the original population.”

The freshman also pulls a Ray Nagin, mayor of New Orleans during 2005’s Hurricane Katrina: The white “invasion” could affect DC’s status as a “chocolate city.”

Some students who criticized AU’s housing decision faced — gasp! — “negative reactions” from their classmates. One of the critics, Katherine Greenstein, had a concern about “medical racism”:

Green New Deal's "Windmills" Freeze in Texas ... Worthless!

The Green New Deal has come, believe it or not, to the state of Texas. How’s it working out so far?

Well, the good news is all that alternative energy seems to have had a remarkable effect on the climate. Sunday night, parts of Texas got the temperatures that we typically see in Alaska. In fact, they were the same as they were in Alaska. So global warming is no longer a pressing concern in Houston.

The bad news is, they don’t have electricity. The windmills froze, so the power grid failed. Millions of Texans woke up Monday morning having to boil their water because with no electricity, it couldn’t be purified.

More than 2.5 million people in Texas are currently experiencing rolling blackouts as temperatures remain in the single digits in many parts of the state. The Lone Star state is currently short of electricity because half of the Texas wind fleet (the largest in the nation) is iced over and incapable of generating electricity. Additionally, the natural gas infrastructure Texas has become so reliant upon has also frozen up.

Texas’s experience highlights the perils of becoming overly reliant upon wind, solar and natural gas because these energy sources are not as reliable as coal or nuclear power during extreme weather conditions. Nuclear and coal plants have a distinct advantage in extreme weather conditions because they store week’s or month’s worth of fuel near the power plant.

In contrast, wind and solar depend upon the weather, and natural gas relies upon just-in-time delivery of natural gas via pipeline.

Biden's Nominee for AG Says: "Portland Riots May Not Be ‘ Terrorism’ Because Courthouse Was Closed

Judge Merrick Garland told the Senate Judiciary Committee on Monday that Antifa’s attacks on the U.S. courthouse in Portland last year may not have been “domestic terrorism,” because unlike the Capitol riot, they took place at night when the court was not “in operation.”

Garland, who is President Joe Biden’s nominee for U.S. Attorney General, was questioned at his confirmation hearing by Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO):

Sen. Hawley: Let me ask you about assaults on federal property in places other than Washington, DC — Portland, for instance, Seattle. Do you regard assaults on federal courthouses or other federal property as acts of domestic extremism, domestic terrorism?

Judge Garland: Well, Senator, my own definition, which is about the same as the statutory definition, is the use of violence or threats of violence in attempt to disrupt the democratic processes. So an attack on a courthouse, while in operation, trying to prevent judges from actually deciding cases, that plainly is domestic extremism, domestic terrorism. An attack simply on a government property at night, or any other kind of circumstances, is a clear crime and a serious one, and should be punished. I don’t know enough about the facts of the example you’re talking about. But that’s where I draw the line. One is — both are criminal, but one is a core attack on our democratic institutions.

Last August, then-Attorney General William Barr described the attacks on the courthouse:

Behind the veil of “protests,” highly organized violent operators have carried out direct attacks on federal personnel and property, particularly the federal courthouse in Portland. Shielded by the crowds, which make it difficult for law enforcement to detect or reach them, violent opportunists in Portland have attacked the courthouse and federal officers with explosives, lasers, projectiles, and other dangerous devices. In some cases, purported “journalists” or “legal observers” have provided cover for the violent offenders; in others, individuals wearing supposed press badges have themselves attacked law enforcement or trespassed on federal property. More than 200 federal officers have been injured in Portland alone.

The riots resulted in the front of the courthouse being boarded up; the destruction of security equipment protecting the courthouse; and the breaking of windows in the offices of federal prosecutors.

Garland cited the domestic terrorism statute, which defines “domestic terrorism” as follows (18 USC § 2331):

(5) the term “domestic terrorism” means activities that— (A) involve acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State; (B) appear to be intended— (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping; and (C) occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States

Notably, the statute does not confine acts of domestic terrorism to working hours.

Iran Fatwa: Women in Cartoons Must Wear Islamic Head Coverings

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has reportedly issued a decree that female characters in cartoons must wear a hijab, the Islamic head covering that Iranian women are persecuted for refusing to wear.

According to the Saudi outlet Al-Arabiya on Monday, Khamenei was holding a virtual forum on the encrypted messaging platform Telegram when someone asked if the hijab, made mandatory for women in Iran after the 1979 Islamic revolution, should also be considered mandatory for “characters in animated films.”

“Although wearing hijab in such a hypothetical situation is not required per se, observing hijab in animation is required due to the consequences of not wearing hijab,” Khamenei replied rather confusingly since everything after the comma contradicts everything he said before the comma.

Al-Arabiya noted that Iranian women are harassed by everyone from the “morality police,” to regular law enforcement, to self-appointed moral vigilantes for failing to wear hijabs, or even for wearing one “badly.” Iranian women of all ages are nevertheless protesting the hijab with increasing boldness.

Iranian state media sources cited by Al-Arabiya said Khamenei issued a fatwa, or religious order, to compel animated characters to wear hijabs. The Jerusalem Post notedsuch orders have little power under Iran’s legal system and, for that matter, the hijab “law” is not written down, but various enforcement agencies and vigilantes are happy to use violence against women to make them obey.

The New Arab said it was “unclear” how Khamenei’s order would be enforced, but observed “Tehran has imposed strict censorship laws on the country’s film agency,” so cartoons depicting female characters who are not properly masked and hooded might simply be banned from theaters.

How Cuomo’s office terrorized me for doing my job as a journalist

It was 4:30 a.m., so I pulled the bathroom door shut in my one-bedroom Brooklyn apartment to answer the phone without waking my then-5-year-old. On the line was Melissa DeRosa, Gov. Cuomo’s then-communications director, now his second-in-command. She was threatening to destroy me.

By now, thanks to Queens Assemblyman Ron Kim blowing the whistle on the threats he received in a call from Cuomo, the public has a glimpse of the bullying practiced by the governor and his top brass.

Many Americans are shocked, having bought into the compassionate persona Cuomo conveyed in his pandemic briefings. But Kim’s revelations came as no surprise to anyone who has dealt with the governor. As one Albany insider texted me last week, “everyone has an Andrew Cuomo story.”

While the April 2014 call I received from DeRosa didn’t come directly from the governor, I knew it bore the full weight of his power. City & State, the New York politics magazine I edited at the time, was about to publish a story exposing Cuomo’s machinations to distort the final report issued by the Moreland Commission on Public Corruption.

The manipulation we documented put the lie to the governor’s public proclamation that it would be a fully independent body with the authority to probe graft in Albany wherever it found it. In reality, as soon as the commission touched the governor’s own office, he hastily shut it down.

I started getting pushback from the governor’s office as soon as we called requesting comment. In a barrage of calls, his media handlers pushed me to spike the article, alternately approaching me with carrot (a hot exclusive to be named later) and stick. By 4:30 a.m. — our piece was scheduled to publish at 5 — I was only getting the stick.

Seven years later, I don’t recall precisely everything DeRosa hurled at me, though I’m positive she vowed to “destroy” my career and take revenge on my publication. I remember vividly how I felt: scared.

I had no reason to think these were idle threats. I was fully aware of the governor’s volcanic temper and track record of vindictiveness. If he wanted to crush me, he could and likely would.

This was a serious gut check for me. I worried about losing my livelihood, damaging my future, letting down my wife and daughter. But fortunately, I had bosses and colleagues who stood by the quality of our work. So we published the piece, like the press is supposed to do in the face of intimidation.

I’m no hero. The members of the Albany press corps regularly endure abusive calls like I received. And sometimes those calls come from the governor himself.

Shrewdly, the governor rings up reporters out of the blue to praise them when he likes what they write. This personal touch wins him goodwill. Receiving such a call is something of a rite of passage for Albany reporters. Unfortunately, so too is getting a call from the governor when he’s breathing fire.

Cuomo doesn’t dispute that talking tough is what he does. He thinks it’s a virtue. But the abuse he privately metes out amounts to a systematic campaign to chill negative coverage of his administration. And it works.

Editors kill legitimate stories because of his threats; reporters shy away from promising tips; sources stay silent.

There are many reasons the media don’t expose the governor’s bullying. Albany reporters fear that if the governor freezes them out, they won’t be able to do their jobs effectively. Some journalists see speaking up as a violation of the unwritten code of “off-the-record” conversations. Others just assume that “everyone knows” how Cuomo operates, so it isn’t worth reporting.

For years, entertainment reporters justified their silence about the #MeToo monsters in the industry by telling themselves that “everyone knows.” But the public didn’t know. Many of the perpetrators’ future victims didn’t know. And so these thugs went on operating with impunity.

Until last week, most New Yorkers didn’t know about Cuomo’s despicable ways. But they should have. Journalists are agents of accountability. It’s time for New York’s reporters to step up and tell their own Cuomo stories.

Morgan Pehme, a documentary filmmaker, served as editor-in-chief of City & State from 2012 to 2014.
