Networks call presidency for Biden as Trump vows to continue fight

 

Democrat Joe Biden defeated President Donald Trump to become the 46th president of the United States on Saturday, according to major US networks who made statistical projections, positioning himself to lead a nation gripped by the historic pandemic and a confluence of economic and social turmoil.

His victory came after more than three days of uncertainty as election officials sorted through a surge of mail-in votes that delayed the processing of some ballots. Biden crossed 270 Electoral College votes with a win in Pennsylvania.

Biden, 77, staked his candidacy less on any distinctive political ideology than on galvanizing a broad coalition of voters around the notion that Trump posed an existential threat to American democracy. The strategy proved effective, resulting in pivotal victories in Michigan and Wisconsin as well as Pennsylvania, onetime Democratic bastions that had flipped to Trump in 2016.

Biden was on track to win the national popular vote by more than 4 million, a margin that could grow as ballots continue to be counted.

Trump seized on delays in processing the vote in some states to falsely allege voter fraud and argue that his rival was trying to seize power — an extraordinary charge by a sitting president trying to sow doubt about a bedrock democratic process.

As the vote count played out, Biden tried to ease tensions and project an image of presidential leadership, hitting notes of unity that were seemingly aimed at cooling the temperature of a heated, divided nation.

"We have to remember the purpose of our politics isn't total unrelenting, unending warfare," Biden said Friday night in Delaware. "No, the purpose of our politics, the work of our nation, isn't to fan the flames of conflict, but to solve problems, to guarantee justice, to give everybody a fair shot."

Kamala Harris also made history as the first Black woman to become vice president, an achievement that comes as the U.S. faces a reckoning on racial justice. The California senator, who is also the first person of South Asian descent elected to the vice presidency, will become the highest-ranking woman ever to serve in government, four years after Trump defeated Hillary Clinton.

Rabbi Dovid Feinstein passes away

Rabbi Dovid Feinstein, head of the Mesivta Tiferes Yerushalayim in New York, a member of the Council of Torah Scholars in the United States, has passed away. He was 91 years old at his passing.

Rabbi Feinstein was born in 1929 in Lyuban, USSR, and was a Torah scholar and halakhic authority, and was considered by many as the leading halachic authority in the United States.

He served as the rosh yeshiva (dean) of the Mesivta Tiferes Yerushalayim yeshiva elementary and high school and kollel, inheriting the position after the passing of his father Rabbi Moshe Feinstein in 1986. 

He was also a prolific and erudite author, penning at least 9 sefarim on such topics as halakha, Torah, and the Jewish calendar, as well as some popular Passover Haggadahs.

His is the first name in the Mesorah Heritage Foundation box of the inner cover in Artscroll publications.

His brother, Rabbi Reuven Feinstein, is rosh yeshiva of the Staten Island branch of Mesivta Tiferes Yerushalayim.

REVEALED: Female who spat in a cop's face in NYC was an intern for Jerry Nadler

The foul-mouthed female protester who was arrested Wednesday for spitting in the face of an NYPD officer once interned for a high-ranking House Democrat.

Devina Singh, 24, spent about a month in 2018 working as a social work intern for U.S. Representative Jerrold Nadler, who chairs the House Judiciary Committee, the Daily News reported.

Singh 'did not complete the internship and left shortly after the internship started for personal reasons,' Nadler's district director, Robert Gottheim, told the News.  

Gottheim did not elaborate further on why she left prematurely after starting in September 2018.

Singh, of Brooklyn, was among the 57 people arrested in New York City on Wednesday night after she was filmed in Manhattan's West Village neighborhood screaming 'f**k you fascist' at an NYPD officer before spitting in his face.

Footage of her spitting at the officer, which went viral on Twitter, was immediately condemned by the NYPD and police unions.

'Actions like this will not be tolerated. Agitators who commit these acts will be arrested,' the NYPD tweeted alongside the video. 

After the incident, Singh was thrown to the ground and arrested.

'Biden's victory is a big win for Iran and the Ayatollahs'

 

With Joe Biden moving closer towards clinching the 270 electoral votes needed to win the White House, veteran Israeli journalist and Middle East expert Zvi Yehezkeli warned Friday morning that a Biden administration would boost the Iranian regime at a critical juncture.

Speaking with Radio 103FM, Yehezkeli, a Channel 13 commentator, said that a Biden victory would ensure the survival of Iran’s hard-line Islamist regime.

“The ayatollahs’ regime won’t survive under the current conditions if Trump would continue on,” said Yehezkeli. “It is just a matter of time before the regime collapses.”

But, Yehezkeli continued, “The ayatollahs’ regime will continue on with the help of Biden. Biden’s victory means the continuation of the ayatollahs’ rule.”

Turning to the Trump administration’s push to broker additional peace deals between Israel and Sunni Arab states, Yehezkeli said that the possibility of a normalization deal with Saudi Arabia would at the very least be “delayed” as a result of Biden’s victory.

“The deal with the Saudis which was supposed to happen during the Trump administration will be delayed.”

Emboldened With Her Win Ilhan Omar accuses Israel of 'ethnic cleansing'

 

Muslim Congresswoman Ilhan Omar accused Israel of violating international law and carrying out "ethnic cleansing" after Israeli security forces demolished homes built illegally by Bedouin in the Jordan Valley earlier this week.

“This a grave crime—in direct violation of international law. If they used any US equipment it also violates US law,” tweeted Omar, alongside a link to an article on the demolition.

“The United States of America should not be bankrolling ethnic cleansing. Anywhere,” she added.

Omar, who won re-election in Minnesota's 5th district earlier this week, is notorious for her past controversial statements on Israel. She came under fire last year after she suggested on Twitter that Republicans were attacking her at the behest of the pro-Israel lobby AIPAC.

She subsequently issued a half-hearted apology before ultimately deleting the controversial tweets.

Last September, Omar called Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's "existence" a problem in an interview with CBS.

Brooklyn voters made their voices heard in veteran Rep. Jerry Nadler’s reelection this week, with his more conservative constituents in the borough’s southern neighborhoods casting ballots for President Trump and the liberal Democrat’s GOP opponent Cathy Bernstein.

Bernstein won the 48th Assembly District that includes Borough Park with 16,841 votes to 4,147 for Nadler. President Trump carried the same AD over Joe Biden by nearly 20,000 votes — 23,448 to 4,877.

Bernstein, 58, a financial consultant who resides on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, railed against stricter state oversight of yeshivas — a potent issue that resonates in the district’s heavily orthodox Jewish communities — and also slammed Nadler for supporting “defunding” police.

The GOP candidate also made an issue of the city placing homeless people into neighborhood hotels amid the pandemic.

Manhattan comprises 70 percent of the district, and Brooklyn the other 30 percent.

The machine count showed Nadler ahead 68 percent to 30 percent, or 120,273 to 52,842 votes. But Bernstein’s tally was 22,000 votes more than Nadler’s GOP challenger received in 2016.

The machine count showed Bernstein actually carried the Brooklyn side of the district convincingly — with 33,124 votes to 24,607 for Nadler.

Bernstein said she made five different campaign posters and the one about defending yeshivas was so popular among shopkeepers in Borough Park that she had to do a reprint. She stood up for privately-run religious schools after the state Education proposed to increase oversight while Nadler defended stricter regulation.

“These are constituents who feel strongly about education,” Bernstein said.

“Nadler is not well received in the Brooklyn side of the district,” said former Assemblyman Dov Hikind who previously represented the 48th AD, adding, “The Democratic Party in New York has moved so far to the left people here are upset with the Democratic Party.”

Hikind also credited Trump’s strong showing in south Brooklyn with lifting up Bernstein in Brooklyn along with voter disgust with a spike in crime and the law that eliminated cash bail for many criminal defendants.

About 70,000 voters mailed in absentee ballots. But the overwhelming majority of the mail-ins were submitted by Manhattan voters. That means Bernstein is likely to win the Brooklyn side of the district outright when all the ballots are counted.

In my book, The Fabric of Religious Life in Medieval Ashkenaz, I highlight the fact that Ashkenazic Jews experienced their spiritual states physically. Things that were pure were experienced as physically attractive, while those things that were prohibited were experienced as physically repulsive. Hence, there developed among them a custom that when a pot absorbed something non-kosher, not only did they purge (i.e. kasher) it, they would bring it to a ritualarium (mikveh) to purify it.

Similarly, spiritual states were experienced both emotionally and physically. Based upon that reality, Jews traditionally immersed themselves in a Mikveh as part of their process of repentance (an echo of which is found in the practice to go to Mikveh before Yom Kippur—a custom that should be observed by both men and women).

This sensitivity, physically experienced, has not passed from the world.

In New York City You Can Spit on a Cop And Walk the Streets Minutes Later

 

The first thing to notice about the young, ahh, lady arrested in Manhattan Wednesday for spitting in a cop’s face is that she was back on the street before they had time to test the cop for rabies.

Think of that as cause and effect.

The second, as Joe Biden inches slowly toward his magic number, is that a goodly number of 2016’s sore losers intend fully to become 2020’s sore winners, should it come to that, so nobody reasonably can expect peace and quiet. Preening self-righteousness is like crack; once you’re hooked, it’s hard to give it up.

And it would be hard to find a preener more suited to the moment than the chick this newspaper’s genius headline writers have tagged the Phlegm Fatale — Devina Singh, 24, of Schwenksville, Pennsylvania, who hangs at high-end swimming pools in Miami, gets busted at “peaceful protests” in Manhattan and smugly hurls hockers at cops.

Lady Devina also has a foul mouth (just check out the arrest video); trouble with the truth (the cops “hit us with their bikes repeatedly … attacking people …”) and a fairly well-developed persecution complex. “We allow white people and those in power to continue to demonize and brutalize [us],” she writes on Facebook.

She is also not unique, which is a big reason why much of Manhattan was sheathed in plywood in anticipation of election night. Manhattan is riddled with angry, paranoid advantage-takers always on the lookout to make an ugly statement, and the one thing they pretty much can count on is getting away with it.

So while no-cost bad behavior is understandable, the anger really isn’t. Hey, if you’re Lady Devina and you’ve been arrested at least three times over the past six weeks and they keep letting you go, how bad can this town be, really?

And there you have the real issue: the letting-you-go part. Those “mostly peaceful protests” — in fact, roving, always-on-the-edge provocations that have plagued the city for months — are one thing. Pain-in-the-ass people are what the First Amendment is about.

But spitting in a cop’s face is an escalation that really should earn one more than a desk appearance ticket. Until it does, expect more of it. Maybe worse.

How the Democrats Set This Up For Months Before the Election To Steal it ... This Was a Deliberate Plan

The Democratic Party expected a contested 2020 presidential election and "set up" President Donald Trump to try to overturn a "verdict" that should have never been projected by pollsters and declared too soon by the "complicitous" media, according to political analyst Dick Morris on Newsmax TV.

"The whole point of the early polls, the whole point of the paper ballots, the whole point of the delay in the counting was to establish the concept that Biden had won, or at least was too confusing to tell so the verdict could overturned," Morris told Wednesday's "The Chris Salcedo Show."

Morris, a former close adviser for former President Bill Clinton, meticulously outlined how the Democratic Party, with an assist from their friends in the mainstream media, "set up" the dominoes to fall one by one against Trump in favor of Joe Biden.

"This is all a setup," Morris began to host Chris Salcedo. "The Democratic Party planned for this. They knew they were likely to lose this election, so the first thing they did was to fake the polls that talked about how they were going to win.

"And that was to set up the presumption that Biden was going to win, so that when he won based on fraud, everybody would say, 'yeah, he was winning anyway.'"

In the lead up to Tuesday, pollsters, perhaps even to a more egregious degree than 2016, had given Biden the "presumption" of an insurmountable edge the Trump campaign could not contest.

"Then as results came in on Election Night, the Democrats constantly held up the count – in many jurisdictions the count was not completed and was left hanging in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin," Morris continued. "Then they came in with their mail-in ballots, dumped them all of a sudden, barred the Republicans from looking at them, and then announced that Biden had won."

Finally, the media pulled the final lever by delivering a narrative it is the Trump campaign seeking to undermine a free and election, Morris concluded.

"And the complicitous news media called these states for Biden; that creates a sort of presumption that Biden has won those states," he said. "And Trump is then in the position of trying to overturn that verdict."

In Memoriam of Rabbi Kahane Who Was a Leader Who Lived and Ultimately Gave His Life for His Fellow Jews

 

In this generation of fleeting allegiance and loyalty, particularly in the realm of Jewish leadership, it seems inexplicable that today, years after the brutal murder of Rabbi Meir Kahane,  he is mourned by so many Jews throughout the world. The phrase coined so as to perpetuate his ideas as well as his memory is" Kahane tzadak", Kahane was right 

Having worked closely for more than two decades with this self-sacrificing Jewish leader, both in the United States and in Israel, I feel impelled, on the l9th anniversary of his murder, to relate a few little known insights about the man behind the headlines.

Although demonized by both left- and right-wing Israeli governments for his prophetic warnings concerning the rise of Arab nationalism and the dire consequences of making concessions to these implacable enemies, Rabbi Kahane remained undaunted. In his view, the Torah was the only timely and relevant 'road map' for the Jewish people.

A Michigan USPS whistleblower has provided Project Veritas with details of a directive he received from his superiors to back-date late mail-in-ballots as received November 3rd, 2020 so they are accepted.

“Separate them from standard letter mail so they can hand stamp them with yesterday's date & put them through," was the order he received.

Meanwhile, Gateway Pundit reports a poll watcher filmed highly suspicious activity at a vote-counting center in Detroit at 4 a.m., the morning after election day.

In the footage, taken by Texas lawyer and Lawyers for Trump member Kellye SoRelle, a person in a white van was filmed loading a red wagon outside the ballot counting location and bringing it inside.

SoRelle released the video to Texas Scorecard, because she wanted to raise “alarms that the box may have been a ballot box that arrived long after all ballots were expected to have been received at the counting facility.”

The website reports that “other images appear to show suitcases and coolers moving in and out of the secure area where mail-in ballots were being counted during a shift change at 4 a.m.”

As Republicans and Democrats spar over the results in Michigan, where on the night after the election a mysterious large number of mail ballots appeared to tip the state in favor of Joe Biden, a disturbing video clip demonstrates that even dead voters born 118 years ago succeeded in voting in the Michigan election. The proof of this is evident to anyone who presses the link mvic.sos.state.mi.us/Voter/Index which verifies whether a person’s mail ballot was received and processed by the state.

A Michigan resident obtained the details of William Bradley, who was born in 1902 and died in 1984 and processed them to see whether his mail ballot had been sent. It transpired that the ballot had been sent and processed by the state. It only remains to be seen which candidate Bradley voted for:

The New York Post reports that dead people were also conscripted to the vote in New York, with an absentee ballot received from one Frances Reckhow of Staten Island, a registered Democrat, who would have been 105 if she were alive today but unfortunately, she passed away eight years earlier. Despite this inconsequential detail, the NYC Board of Elections received the ballot on the 8th of October and declared it valid. Other ballots of people impersonating dead persons were also received in New York.

The Staten Island Republican Party is reportedly referring the matter to the police and Staten Island District Attorney Michael McMahon’s office. “People should be on the alert for dead people voting. There are people using the names of dead voters to cast ballots,” said chairman Brendan Lantry. “I believe this is just the tip of the iceberg,” said Lantry. “We’re requesting that the NYPD and the Staten Island District Attorney’s office investigate.”

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) let loose on Democrats and the Joe Biden campaign on Tuesday night for not putting more effort into securing the Latino vote during this election cycle.

Ocasio-Cortez took to Twitter hours after Biden lost the state of Florida, where he greatly underperformed in the Latino community. President Donald Trump ended up winning the crucial swing state with 51.21% of the vote, according to The Blaze.

Ocasio-Cortez shared a brief video in which journalist Hunter Walker said, “Progressive allies of Biden were raising alarms about this over the summer. The Biden campaign did do a little more Latino outreach, but he has really struggled to on that front.”

“ I will say we’ve been sounding the alarm about Dem vulnerabilities w/Latinos for a long, long time,” the congresswoman wrote. “There is a strategy and a path, but the necessary effort simply hasn’t been put in.”

Time-lapse footage shows China's construction machine building a bridge by moving huge concrete slabs

 

China has unveiled a mega bridge-building machine that's expected construct high-speed railway overpasses faster and cheaper.

The Kunlun is capable of erecting a 1,000-tonne box girder - a support beam of a bridge - with a maximum span of 40 metres (131 feet), according to the government.

The mechanical giant is currently building a gigantic cross-sea bridge measuring 14.7 kilometres (9.1 miles) long in Fujian Province, south-eastern China.

Time-lapse footage released by the Kunlun's state-owned manufacturer shows the machine assembling and extending the Meizhou Bay Bridge from the land to the sea.

The Kunlun is seen carrying and picking up large sections of concrete before laying them onto the structure.

The Kunlun is developed and manufactured by the China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC), a large construction and engineering company directly supervised by China's State Council.

The firm claims the Kunlun transport-erect machine is the first of its kind in the world to be able to handle such heavy box girders.

It is expected to help the nation lower the cost of the construction of its high-speed railways and accelerate the expansion of the transport network, especially in remote areas.

The Kunlun can reduce about 20 per cent of girder erection costs and improves erection speed by 25 per cent, according to a release from the State Council. 

It is also filmed stretching itself from one bridge supporter to another over the sea to install chunks of the bridge surface.

High-speed railway bridges are ubiquitous in China, covering a combined length of more than 16,000 kilometres (9,941 miles) as of April last year. 

One of the country's transport arteries, the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway, comprises 244 bridges over a distance of 1,318 kilometres (819 miles).

State experts say that high-speed railway bridges can help cut travel time, make train journeys more smooth, save land resources and improve the safety of railroads

Sickening .. Stranger Punches Two Women in Unprovoked Attack at a Crown Heights Deli

 Surveillance footage captured a disturbing physical assault of two young women in a Brooklyn, New York deli over the weekend.

The video captures the attack, which happened at 1.15am on Sunday morning at a deli on Utica Avenue near Sterling Place. A young man puts his bag down and suddenly punches the two women, knocking one down, before calmly appearing to walk away.

The store clerk and a woman at an ATM also appear in the surveillance video, although they don't appear to be affected by the assault.

The attacker, who remains at large, appears to be in his 30s.

There are several delis open late in the area - the NYPD did not state which deli this occurred in.

According to PIX 11, police say the two victims were a 21-year-old and 24-year old. The former suffered a detached retina, while the latter suffered pain and bruising from the assault.

NBC New York reports both women were taken to the hospital, where they were listed in stable condition.

This is not the only recent violent incident that has occurred in a deli in recent weeks.

According to 1010 WINS, an 18-year-old man was shot and killed in a deli in East New York last Wednesday.
