Black Lives Matter marches can continue despite large-event ban, de Blasio says

I wonder.... will the "askanim" and the "Gedoilim" who endorsed this pervert finally admit that they made a mistake?
Read the lie below ..... that " a month of demonstrations have not led to an outbreak of Covid" .....
Then why a day after Trump's rally did all of the media say "that there was a surge?" And we know that was impossible since it takes from 4 days to a week to see how many got infected.
Mayor Bill de Blasio is permitting Black Lives Matter protesters to continue marching through city streets while canceling all large events through September.
Speaking on CNN Thursday night, de Blasio said the demonstrators’ calls for social justice were too important to stop after more than a month of demonstrations have not led to an outbreak of coronavirus cases.
“This is a historic moment of change. We have to respect that but also say to people the kinds of gatherings we’re used to, the parades, the fairs — we just can’t have that while we’re focusing on health right now,” de Blasio told host Wolf Blitzer.
The exception came as New York’s rate of infections has remained consistent through the civil unrest over the Minneapolis police killing of George Floyd.
A late-June study from the National Bureau of Economic Research found no evidence that coronavirus cases jumped in 315 cities in the weeks after the first protests. Researchers determined that protests may have been offset by an increase in social distancing among those who decided not to march.
Researchers reasoned the protests may have been offset by an increase in social distancing among those who decided not to march.
The City Hall shutdown will include big parades like the West Indian American Day Carnival in Brooklyn Labor Day weekend, the Dominican Day Parade in midtown Manhattan and the San Gennaro festival in Little Italy.
The de Blasio administration will also deny all permits for events in parks it believes will “unreasonably diminish public use” as well as street fairs and events stretching larger than one block or for gatherings that require a sound system.

Deborah Feldman's Story That WasTold In The Hit "Unorthodox" Reveals Ex-husband ALSO Left the Community- and They Now Have a 'great relationship'

The woman behind the memoir that inspired Netflix hit Unorthodox has revealed that she now has a 'great relationship' with her ex-husband - a decade after she escaped their strict Jewish community in New York for Berlin.
In a new interview, Deborah Feldman, now 33, said her ex-husband left the community four years after she took the plunge, and even wrote her a letter to thank her for helping him turn his life around.
In 2012 Deborah released the explosive memoir In Unorthodox: The Scandalous Rejection of my Hasidic Roots, recounting years 'trapped' in her Satmar community, the religious sect barring her from individual freedoms and, she says, promoting silence and suffering in their place.
After entering an arranged marriage at the age of 17 and giving birth at 19, she was able to flee Brooklyn for Germany, aged 23, where she made a new life for herself. Her story was turned into hit Netflix drama Unorthodox, this year.

Health Dept Almost Infects Camp Agudah Midwest with Covid-19

This just happened now in Camp Agudah Midwest.

An inspector from the Health Department came to conduct an inspection on health and COVID19 protocols in camp and whether they’re being kept (which they are).

But per protocol, she was tested before entering camp grounds (we have these instant tests where you get results in 5 minutes).

And guess what?

The COVID inspector was denied entry because she tested positive for corona virus!!!

Had we not tested the COVID inspector, she could have potentially infected the entire camp with corona virus!

Anti-Semites At Publix in North Miami Beach

Anti-Semitic Incident At Publix on 8th Avenue in NMB

Yesterday at about 12:15 pm, a member of the Jewish community was in the checkout line of the Publix on 8th Avenue. Behind him was a 30 to 40 year old black male who began harassing him since he saw his head covering and began ranting about Jews and threatened to beat him up.

The security guard came near but neither the guard nor any cashier uttered a word. As the Jewish customer left the store, neither Publix security or personnel walked him to his car even though he was visibly shaken and concerned for his safety. He was subjected to further anti-Semitic rants and threats of physical harm as he walked to his car. As he drove home, he saw the individual was following behind him. He drove around the neighborhood until he was no longer being followed.

Publix staff and security, by its defining actions, made it clear that they are just selling groceries and could not care less about the safety or comfort of its customers or at least its Jewish customers. It appears, to Publix every customer is the same and they are not willing to inform a paying customer that his conduct is inappropriate or offensive and if it is not immediately stopped, that the customer must leave the store.

As we shop and even as we walk the streets, this is just a reminder that we need to be more vigilant. If a person is ever in fear of his or her safety, they should immediately call 9 1 1. If it is possible to safely take a picture, one should do so. In situations like this, it is not possible. The incidents should always be reported to the police since the police track anti-Semitic incidents and, therefore, it must be reported even if the police will not be able to apprehend the aggressor.

Please take a minute and email the CEO and president of Publix and ask them why the Publix is so tolerant of a customer trashing a Jewish customer merely because he was Jewish and threatening him with bodily harm while all Publix personnel let out not a peep and offered no protection. Gerer Civil War Heats Up As a Young "Smarkatch" with Chutzpah Closes the Gemarrah of a Maggid Shiur That Supports the Rosh Yeshivah

Aron Yaakov Vallach the me'chutzaf

This young "tzuzik" Aron Yaakov Vallach, who never worked a day in his life, closed the gemarrah of Harav Michel Mondrowitz, a prominent maggid Shiur in the Gerrer Shtibal of Rechov 68 Rebbe Akiva in Bnei Brak..
This happened on Shabbos morning before davening..

Vallach with a couple of other bullies came from another Gerrer Shtibal to embarrass the maggid shiur and also sang "Mocha Timcha" ...which is said in reference to ameiliek..
The Gerer Shtibel on Rechov Rebbe Akiva is affiliated with the break-offs and support the Gerer Rosh Yeshiva.

Forshayer Rebbe's Dirty Tricks?

Yesterday we posted that R' Chaim Rottenberg (kishmo kein hu), the Forshayer Rebbesent a notice to his kehilah that he would not allow any food in his shul with the Hashagacha of Harav Yechiel Steinmetz Shlitah.

Well.... there is a whole lot to this story and it has absolutely nothing to do with kashrus.... zilch!

The Forshayer Rebbe is the one in whose home, R Yosef Neiman was brutally stabbed in at a  Chanukah Melave Malkah in Monsey.
The Rebbe continued eating, clapping and dancing while R' Yosef was in a coma at Good Sam.

The hero in the house was Yosef Gluck who threw his body in front of the assailant while the shvartzer tried stabbing others. ...
When the ADL and Rockland Federation offered Yosef Gluck an award of $20,000.00, the Forshayer prohibited the naive Gluck from taking the money, since according to the "fur-coat wearer" the money was tainted and contaminated by the Zionists....
Just so you know, The ADL and the Federation are Jewish American Local organizations...and are not affiliated with any Zionists.
Not caring about those facts, "Mr. Fur-Coat" went schnorring from the poverty stricken families of Williamsburg and managed to raise  "kosher money" for Gluck. Who knows how many Williamsburg babies will now be out of formula...?

Now back to our story...
Overnight I received the real story behind Rottenberg's banning the food of Rav Steinmetz and it's not pretty..

Some of the information was from Rabbi Rottenberg's own kehila who are "mad as hell."

It seems that R' Yechiel Steinmetz, is a well respected Rav in Monsey and is also the one in charge of the Monsey Eiriv....

About ten years ago, Rav Steinmetz while he was inspecting the Eiriv in Forshay (a section in Monsey), found multiple issues with the poles and wires and asked the Forshay Community to correct them and gave them 6 months time to repair the "violations".

Rabbi Rottenberg has a shul in the community, and thinks that the entire Forshay area is his turf, and what's ironic is that his home and shul has its very own little Eiriv, and not part of the broader Monsey Eiriv ...... and he wasn't going to be bossed around by another Rav ....
so he took off his heavy fur coat and told the residents not to correct the problems.....that the Eiriv was kosher ... even though the Holy Rabbi himself never uses it ....
since he knows that the Eiriv without the corrections is only kosher for the goyishe neighbors ...

Behind the scene, a donor paid for the issues to be corrected and so the askanim went behind R Rottenberg's "fur-coated" back, and made all the repairs ...and Rav Steinmetz put back his hashagacha quietly and commented that "this is the only way to work with him."

Others have told me that this was in "retaliation over a dispute on fundraising" for Rav Steinmetz' eiriv that interfered with the fundraising of Fur-coater Rebbe.
That it was all about the money!

So now the chickens have come home to roost, its payback time...
and the best way to get back at Rav Steinmetz is to take away his parnassah during Covid-19....

Covid-19 is something that R' Rottenberg feels is a fake disease and just like he could care less about R' Yosef Naiman's condition in the hospital who was gasping for air and hemorrhaging, he could care less about the thousand frum Jews that died gasping for air from the virus ...  and kept his shul open during the entire Covid-19 episode..

Guys Come Home Before It's Too Late ...25,000 Calls from the US During June Alone to Nefesh B’Nefesh

Guys take pity on your children and grandchildren ... come home...
It's not an exaggeration ....
just where I live I used to see signs "for Rent" or "For Sale" all the time...
Today I have not found a sign or a poster anywhere ... in fact in my building was a poster with a phone number ...begging ..us if we know of any apt for rent or sale..
Across the street from my home, 12 apartment building are going up... all the apartments are already sold, just last month they were offering all kinds of discounts and incentives ... no more ...

If your married children want to stay ... leave them there ...do not listen to the rebbes .... they were absolutely wrong pre WW2 and they are wrong now ..
Sell your homes and business and come home...it's time..

Nefesh B’Nefesh, the veteran Jewish organization which has been encouraging aliya from western countries and the USA, reported unprecedented interest in options for aliya during the month of June. In the wake of the coronavirus, numerous people called the organization, which in a normal month receives several hundred to a few thousand calls. Many of those calling wanted to open aliya application procedures.

40 US Jews arrived in Israel Wednesday. In accordance with health regulations, they will spend two weeks in quarantine and then will be able to enter their new homes in Israel. Absorption Minister Penina Tamno-Shata told Arutz Sheva that “I am happy to welcome the arrival of new immigrants from America. They join the more than 7000 Jews who have immigrated to Israel in the past few months. Despite the challenges facing us due to the coronavirus pandemic, the state of Israel will always remain open to aliya at all times, whether during crisis periods or normal times. There is a significant rise in the level of interest, number of aliya applications and initiated procedures and at present the ministry of immigration and absorption which I head is preparing a broad national program for the large waves of aliya expected in the coming years.”
The director and founder of Nefesh B’Nefesh, Rabbi Yehoshua Fass, added that “in the past few months we have seen a tremendous leap in the number of calls to the Nefesh B’Nefesh hotline. The coronavirus crisis is not abating and thousands continue to express interest in immigrating to Israel. It is our duty to translate the interest of thousands into the immigration of thousands. Nefesh B’Nefesh is here to assist them together with all the national and governmental bodies.”

One Rebbe Dies and Now there are Nine!

This reminds me of the "makkeh tzfardeia" the plaque of frogs... according to Rashi there was only one frog ,but when some smart aleck hit it, it multiplied like crazy...

Death as they say is really part of life...
So usually when a Rebbe departs from this world, his oldest son becomes rebbe...or if there are daughters ..a son-in-law....

Except of course in Satmar, when the Beirach Moshe, the previous Satmar Rebbe appointed his younger son, R' Zalman Leib to replace him ...the oldest one, R' Aron Teitelbaum hauled his old feeble father to a court appointed psychiatrist to prove that he had gone insane.. and now we have two rebbes....

In Bobov, the eldest son of Reb Shlomo was Naftulchi, who succeeded him.... when Naftulchi died, he left no sons, but plenty of daughters, so his son-in-law Rav Unger crowned himself successor... until Ben Zion the younger son of Reb Shlomo crowned himself Rebbe since according to his Torah, he is the Yoirish... so now we have two Bobovers...One is Bobov 45 and one is Bobov 48.... (Bobov 45 isn't even on 45th street, he is on 51st Street)

When the Sanzer Rebbe from Boro-Park died, he left 9 sons... so I know exactly what you are thinking ...
Who is the oldest ... let's make him rebbe...
not so fast ....
At the leveyeh, when traditionally the successor is announced....
they announced that all 9 sons will be rebbes ...

So now there will be 9 new shuls with 9 new rebbes,.when their father was still alive ... he struggled with a minyan, but he didn't have to worry too much because between him and his children he had his very own minyan and didn't need any outsiders..
let's see what happens now...

I forgot ... there will be 10 rebbetzins now... which means 10 luckshin kugels ....

Monsey Rabbis Throw "Steinmetz Hashgacha Under the Bus

The Forshyer Rebbe just sent out a notice to his congregants that  he will not allow any "food with R' Yechiel Steinmetz's" Hashgacha in his shul....
The Forshayer is the same rabbi who continued with his Melave Malka, singing and clapping, while one of his loyal followers, who had just minutes before been stabbed in the head by a black assailant, was rushed to the hospital where he subsequently succumbed to his wounds. The Forshyer aka The Kossinyer Rebbe, defiantly kept his shul open during the entire Covid-19 pandemik. The rebbe is more concerned about some guy in his shul fressing a questionably Glatt kosher juicy steak than he is about the guy's life.
However, there was a meeting of local Monsey Rabbanim, who came to the conclusion that the Hashgacha of R' Yechiel Steinmetz or Steimets (there is a chilukei deos on how to spell his name) is worthless.. they didn't say what it was that Rav Steinmetz did wrong just that his hashgacha is worthless...
All this while restaurants are struggling to stay afloat.
This "Steinmetz" hashgacha is very popular in Monsey and has many restaurants with his hechshir. According to those who attended this meetings the rabbis pointed out that they had many lengthy discussions with him and asked him to correct many of the "violations" but he ignored their advice ..

So just like the BLM leaders brought gigantic companies down to their knees so will these rabbis now destroy the "Steinmetz" Hashgacha in one fell swoop...

Unless he served treif and there is no evidence that the restaurants under his hashgacha did ... he should be able to stay in business... after all he doesn't have to kow tow to R Rottenberg ..he can have his own standards ...but so far there is no further info..
We all know the Finkel Treif saga in Monsey awhile ago...
And I have a question.......
What is it with the heimishe hashgachas that have major Kashrus issues ....?
You hardly ever see this with the OU?
My advice... eat from OU hashgachas....

Pass me a Devil Dog or better yet pass me a Yankee Doodle...

Let them Eat Cake!

My Dear Readers,
Covid-19 has apparently dumbed down our community.

In the years past, people would ask our rabbanim serious "shaalis" especially when one met a Gadol Hador....
Now our holy community that finishes Shas every seven years and learns and finishes Mishna Berurah, want to know if they can bring home an "eyer kichel" for their lady that was slaving in the hot kitchen, doing homework with the kids, trying her best to get her brood of  screaming brats to sleep, while he was having a drink with his buddies..

Now I admit that I have been by Rav Chaim Kanievsky, after calling a friend of mine in the US who has "pull" there. And even after all the "protektzi," I still had to wait hours to finally get in there and was warned repeatedly to keep it down to three minutes....
So of course I prepped to get everything I wanted to say in the allotted time.....

So here comes a guy who probably was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and on silk sheets, waits who knows how long to get to see the Gadol Hador and guess what he asks him?

Please .... Please ... I got to get out of here... Please...

Thousand Satmar Chassidim Celebrate the "End of the Virus"

The Satmar Rebbe, R' Aron Teitelbaum, had announced that right after the virus dissipates he will make a grand seudas hoda'ah.
He wasn't kidding and kept his word....
A thousand Satmar Chassidim attended a royal banquet in honor of the "end of the virus." Not one of the guests wore a mask, and there was absolutely no social distancing....
The Seuda "officially" celebrated a Siyum Mishnayois, which ordinary kids do all the time at their Bar-Mitzvas.....and no one invited knew about that, they thought they were coming to the Seudas Hoda'ah....

I guess someone figured out that people were still getting very sick, and there isn't a day that someone doesn't die from the virus... people would realize how stupid and silly that would look like, so he quickly ordered banners that read "Siyum Mishnayois..

Yurzeit of the Ohr Ha'Chayim Hakodosh

I personally feel very connected to The Ohr Hachayim Hakodosh; I had the privilege to give a well attended Ohr Hachatim Hakodosh Shiur in Monsey for over 12 years .....

Rav Chayim ben Moshe Ibn Attar (1696-1743) was called "The Ohr Hachayim" after his sefer on chumash, ...he was one of the most prominent Kabbalists.

He was born in Morocco, and in 1733 settled in Ottoman Syria.
Rav Chayim married his cousin Fatzonia, but was not blessed with children, so Fatzonia encouraged him to marry a second wife, Esther.

In 1742 he tried to settle  in Yerushalyim .. but was forced to live in Akko instead,  due to an epidemic in Yerushalyim.
On the 15th of Ellul 1742, Rav Chayim finally entered Yerushalyim but sadly was niftar less than a year later.

Rav Chayim departed the world at Mincha time, Parshas Pinchos 15th of Tammuz and was only 47 years old.

It is related that during Shalosh Seudas, the Baal Shem Tov who lived in Europe, thousands of miles from Yerushalyim, sensed that the Ohr Hachyim had died, and exclaimed
" The light from the West has been extinguished."

During the period of Jordanian control of Har Hazeisim between 1948 and 1967, there was mass desecration of the Jewish graves. The Arabs even decided to build a road through this ancient cemetery which would pass directly over the grave of the Ohr Hachayim.
When the bulldozer came within inches of the grave, however, something strange happened. The engine sputtered and died. Another attempt the following day failed in a more spectacular way. As the bulldozer rushed towards the grave at full speed, it suddenly flipped over and plunged into the adjoining Valley of Kidron, killing its driver.
The Arabs thereupon abandoned their plans for desecrating this holy grave and rerouted their road to pass much higher on the mountainside. Visitors to the grave can clearly see how the original clearing went straight in the direction of the Ohr Hachayims grave.
Both of his wives passed away within a few years after R' Chaim's death, and were buried next to him.

His famous disciple was the Chidda.

Ke'dai to light a candle for his neshama...
