Israeli breakthrough could make paralysis reversible

Every year, up to half a million people worldwide suffer spinal cord injuries that lead to paralysis, often a life-changing and irreversible condition. But in Israel, scientists are on the verge of changing that narrative.

At the cutting-edge biotech company Matricelf, a team of researchers is engineering new spinal cord tissue from a patient’s own cells, a groundbreaking step that could soon allow people confined to wheelchairs to walk again.

“A drug cannot bring back a new liver, brain, or spinal cord,” explains Gil, one of the company’s leading scientists. “What we are providing here is the potential to cure diseases that drugs cannot.”

Inside Matricelf’s lab, scientists extract fatty tissue and blood samples from patients to create personalized neural tissue, which is then used to replace damaged sections of the spinal cord. “We generate stem cells from the patient’s tissue,” says Dr. Tamar, a senior researcher. “The fatty tissue provides the scaffolding material that allows the cells to form functional neural networks.”

The technology, developed by Prof. Tal Dvir of Tel Aviv University’s Sagol Center for Regenerative Biotechnology, has already been successfully tested on paralyzed rats, which were able to walk and run within days of treatment. Israel’s Ministry of Health has now granted preliminary approval for “compassionate use” clinical trials on eight Israeli patients.

“It’s part of our national pride to have this tested here first,” says Gil. “It’s only natural that Israeli patients should be the first to benefit from this treatment.”

Using advanced tissue and genetic engineering, the team has managed to recreate a functional spinal network that mimics the natural structure of the spinal cord. Under the microscope, the engineered tissues appear “happy to connect with one another,” says Tamar, describing how they exchange electrical signals much like a healthy spinal cord.

The process takes about six months from cell collection to transplantation. Once implanted, the tissue “starts to send signals to the host,” Gil explains. “Within weeks, we see the circuit reconnect, the brain and spinal cord begin communicating again.”

The research carries special urgency in Israel, where thousands of soldiers and reservists have been injured or paralyzed during the war against Hamas. The initial trials will focus on patients with localized spinal injuries, cases where the damage is clear and measurable.

“We know exactly where the communication is cut off,” says Gil. “By placing our implant in that area, we can restore the circuit, we can literally close the loop.”

If successful, this innovation could revolutionize rehabilitation medicine and bring hope to millions. As one researcher put it, “We’re not just repairing tissue, we’re restoring lives.”

WHITE HOUSE CRUSHED: Democrats Score Sweeping Victories in First Elections Since Trump’s Return to White House

Democrats dominated the first major Election Day since President Donald Trump returned to the White House.

And while a debate about the future of the Democratic Party may have only just begun, there are signs that the economy — specifically, Trump’s inability to deliver the economic turnaround he promised last fall — may be a real problem for Trump’s GOP heading into next year’s higher-stakes midterm elections.

Democrats on Tuesday won governor’s races in Virginia and New Jersey, the only states electing new chief executives this year. They also swept a trio of state Supreme Court contests in swing-state Pennsylvania and ballots measures from Colorado to Maine.

Trump was largely absent from the campaign trail, but GOP candidates closely aligned themselves with the president, betting that his big win last year could provide a path to victory this time. They were wrong.

Democrats are hoping the off-year romp offers a new winning playbook, but some caution may be warranted. Tuesday’s elections were limited to a handful of states, most of which lean blue, and the party that holds the White House typically struggles in off-year elections.

Meanwhile, Republicans in Washington may be more excited than Democrats that a self-described democratic socialist will become New York City’s next mayor.

Here’s some top takeaways:

Democrat Mikie Sherrill Defeats Republican Jack Ciattarelli in New Jersey Governor’s Race

U.S. Rep. Mikie Sherrill on Tuesday was elected governor of New Jersey, raising hopes for Democrats and highlighting Republican vulnerabilities after there had been signs of a rightward shift in recent years in what has been a reliably blue state.

Sherrill, a former Navy helicopter pilot and four-term member of Congress, defeated Jack Ciattarelli, who was endorsed by President Donald Trump, and quickly cast her victory late Tuesday as a referendum on the Republican president and some of his policies — from health care to immigration and the economy.

“We here in New Jersey are bound to fight for a different future for our children,” Sherrill told her supporters gathered to celebrate her victory. “We see how clearly important liberty is. We know that no one in our great state is safe when our neighbors are targeted, ignoring the law and the Constitution.” She was joined on stage with her husband and children.

Sherrill, 53, offers some reassurance for moderates within the Democratic Party as they navigate the path forward for next year’s midterms. A former prosecutor and military veteran, Sherrill and Abigail Spanberger, the other Democrat who was elected as Virginia governor, embody a brand of centrist Democrats who aim to appeal to some conservatives while still aligning with some progressive causes. Sherrill campaigned on standing up to Trump and casting blame for voters’ concerns over the economy on his tariffs.

Ciattarelli called Sherrill to congratulate her on the results and did not mention Trump in his address.

“It is my hope that Mikie Sherrill has heard us in terms of what we need to do to make New Jersey that place where everybody can once again feel that they can achieve their American dream,” Ciattarelli said.

The start of voting on Tuesday was disrupted after officials in seven counties received e-mailed bomb threats later determined by law enforcement to be unfounded, said the state’s top election official, Lt. Gov. Tahesha Way. A judge granted a one-hour extension at some polling places after Democrats made a request for three schools that received the threats earlier Tuesday.

Mamzarani Wins Big in New York With Satmar Support!

Zohran Mamdani was elected mayor of New York City on Tuesday, capping a stunning ascent for the 34-year-old state lawmaker, who was set to become the city’s most liberal mayor in generations.

In a victory for the Democratic party’s progressive wing, Mamdani defeated former Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Republican Curtis Sliwa. Mamdani must now navigate the unending demands of America’s biggest city and deliver on ambitious — skeptics say unrealistic — campaign promises.

With the victory, the democratic socialist will etch his place in history as the city’s first Muslim mayor, the first of South Asian heritage and the first born in Africa. He will also become the city’s youngest mayor in more than a century when he takes office on Jan. 1.

Mamdani’s unlikely rise gives credence to Democrats who have urged the party to embrace more progressive, left-wing candidates instead of rallying behind centrists in hopes of winning back swing voters who have abandoned the party.

He has already faced scrutiny from national Republicans, including President Donald Trump, who have eagerly cast him as a threat and the face of what they say is a more radical Democratic Party.

The contest drove the biggest turnout in a mayoral race in more than 50 years, with more than 2 million New Yorkers casting ballots, according to the city’s Board of Elections.

Mamdani’s grassroots campaign centered on affordability, and his charisma spoiled Cuomo’s attempted political comeback. The former governor, who resigned four years ago following allegations of sexual harassment that he continues to deny, was dogged by his past throughout the race and was criticized for running a negative campaign.

There’s also the question of how he will deal with Trump, who threatened to take over the city and to arrest and deport Mamdani if he won. Mamdani was born in Uganda, where he spent his early childhood, but was raised in New York City and became a U.S. citizen in 2018.

Mamdani must now start building for his ambitious agenda
Mamdani, who was criticized throughout the campaign for his thin resume, will now have to begin staffing his incoming administration before taking office next year and game out how he plans to accomplish the ambitious but polarizing agenda that drove him to victory.

Among the campaign’s promises are free child care, free city bus service, city-run grocery stores and a new Department of Community Safety that would send mental health care workers to handle certain emergency calls rather than police officers. It is unclear how Mamdani will pay for such initiatives, given Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul’s steadfast opposition to his calls to raise taxes on wealthy people.

His decisions around the leadership of the New York Police Department will also be closely watched. Mamdani was a fierce critic of the department in 2020, calling for “this rogue agency” to be defunded and slamming it as “racist, anti-queer & a major threat to public safety.” He has since apologized for those comments and has said he will ask the current NYPD commissioner to stay on the job.

Mamdani’s campaign was driven by his optimistic view of the city and his promises to improve the quality of life for its middle and lower classes.

But Cuomo, Sliwa and other critics assailed him over his vehement criticism of Israel ’s military actions in Gaza. Mamdani, a longtime advocate of Palestinian rights, has accused Israel of committing genocide and said he would honor an arrest warrant the International Criminal Court issued for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

How Mamdani won over the city while Cuomo faltered
Mamdani began his campaign as a relatively obscure state lawmaker, little known even within New York City.

Going into the Democratic primary, Cuomo was the presumed favorite, with near-universal name recognition and deep political connections. Cuomo’s chances were buoyed further when incumbent Mayor Eric Adams bowed out of the primary while dealing with the fallout of his now-dismissed federal corruption case.

But as the race progressed, Mamdani’s natural charm, catchy social media videos and populist economic platform energized voters in the notoriously expensive city. He also began drawing outside attention as his name ID grew.

Mamdani ultimately trounced Cuomo in the primary by about 13 points.

The former governor relaunched his campaign as an independent candidate for the general election, vowing to hit the streets with a more energetic approach. However, much of his campaign continued to focus on attacking opponents. In the race’s final stretch, he claimed Mamdani’s election would make Jews feel unsafe.

Meanwhile, supporters packed Mamdani’s rallies, and he held whimsical events, including a scavenger hunt and a community soccer tournament.

Cuomo also juxtaposed his deep experience in government with Mamdani’s less than five years in the state Legislature. But the former governor also faced his own political baggage, as his opponents dredged up the sexual harassment allegations that led to his resignation, as well as his decisions during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sliwa, the creator of the Guardian Angels crime patrol group, also had his moments — mostly in the form of funny quips on the debate stage — but had difficulty gaining traction as a Republican in an overwhelmingly Democratic city.

Former Vice President Dick Cheney dead at age 84

Former Vice President Dick Cheney has died, his family announced early Tuesday. He was 84.

Cheney, who served two terms as vice president under President George W. Bush, died “due to complications of pneumonia and cardiac and vascular disease,” his family said in a statement.

“His beloved wife of 61 years, Lynne, his daughters, Liz and Mary, and other family members were with him as he passed,” the Cheneys said.

“Dick Cheney was a great and good man who taught his children and grandchildren to love our country, and to live lives of courage, honor, love, kindness, and fly fishing,” his family said.

“We are grateful beyond measure for all Dick Cheney did for our country. And we are blessed beyond measure to have loved and been loved by this noble giant of a man.”

Cheney, a former Wyoming lawmaker and defense secretary, was widely considered to be one of the architects of the Iraq War and responsible for convincing Bush to invade the Middle Eastern country.

Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales blocks edits to the “Gaza genocide” page, citing anti-Israel bias and lack of attribution

Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales personally intervened Sunday to block user edits to the site’s “Gaza genocide” article, citing severe anti-Israel bias and a violation of Wikipedia’s neutrality standards, the New York Post reported.

Wales criticized the article’s opening sentence, which refers to a “Gaza genocide” without attribution, presenting the claim as fact rather than a contested allegation.

“This article fails to meet our high standards and needs immediate attention,” he wrote, referencing Wikipedia’s policies on neutrality and attribution.

Wales called on editors to adopt a balanced approach, suggesting the article begin with: “Multiple governments, NGOs, and legal bodies have described or rejected the characterization of Israel’s actions in Gaza as genocide.”

He emphasized that neutrality is “non-negotiable” and cannot be overridden by editor consensus.

The page remains visible to readers but is locked from editing until November 4, 2025, or until disputes are resolved. A disclaimer notes that the protection “is not an endorsement of the current version.”

The intervention sparked debate among Wikipedia editors. Some praised Wales for restoring neutrality, while others accused him of yielding to political pressure and questioned his ties to Israel. Wales has reportedly visited Israel at least ten times and received the Dan David Prize from Tel Aviv University in 2015.

PROSECUTION FROM CHELM: Nukhba Terrorist Who Is Only Witness In Sde Teiman Case Was Released To Gaza

In another outrageous twist from the prosecutors from Chelm, Military Advocate General’s Office [MAG] revealed on Monday—amid the uproar on the role of ex-Military Advocate General Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi and other senior IDF officials in the Sdei Teiman case—that the Hamas terrorist from the case was released to Gaza as part of the hostage deal last month.

The significance of the new revelation is critical, as the key and only witness who could have testified against the reservists indicted for abusing the terrorist is no longer in Israel. Interestingly, despite the public interest in the case, the IDF did not publicize the decision to release the terrorist, and the news of his release was only revealed by one of the reservists’ lawyers on Monday.

In response to media outlets’ inquiries on why the IDF did not publicize the release of the terrorist and why the Nukhba terrorist was never questioned about the “abuse” he suffered, the IDF responded by accusing the Shin Bet and Israel Police of releasing him.

The Jerusalem Post reported that it “pointed out to the IDF spokesperson’s office that it was the IDF legal division who had chosen not to question the terrorist for over a year since the incident in July 2024 and who also decided not to question him even once they started to learn that he might soon be released to Gaza.”

“The IDF spokesperson had no explanation to address these issues, raising larger questions about who decided not to question him and why.”

The letter that the Military Advocate General’s Office [MAG] sent to the reservists’ lawyers on Monday stated, “According to the documentation in the computerized system, the security prisoner was deported to the Gaza Strip on October 13, 2025. Upon receiving the report, we acted to verify it and found that the security detainee is indeed no longer in the custody of the Israeli prison authorities,” the statement said.

Sources familiar with the case say that the terrorist’s unpublicized release was not a coincidence and that it was a move intended to prevent the truth from emerging in the upcoming legal proceedings. The sources said that investigators must examine the possibility that the Military Advocate General’s Office tried to bury the case by releasing the main prosecution witness, which could lead to the cancellation of the entire case.

Attorney Ephraim Damari, representing some of the soldiers, demanded that the indictment filed against reservists be immediately revoked, a demand previously made on Sunday in a press conference held by the IDF Unit 100 reservists and their lawyers.

Damari stated, “Read it and don’t believe it. I learned two hours ago that the vile terrorist from the Sde Teiman case—a Nukhba terrorist with blood on his hands—was deported from the country at the initiative of the IDF. This, despite being the sole witness in the indictment against the heroic soldiers. Beyond the disgrace of the deportation, the indictment must be immediately canceled.”

Attorneys Adi Keidar and Neti Rom, who represent two of the soldiers, slammed the MAG Office: “We have just received notification that the terrorist is no longer in a detention facility in Israel. We appeal from this platform to the MAG Office to cancel the indictment immediately. The complainant deserves a harsh punishment for his actions as a terrorist and for the false accusations he helped fabricate against the soldiers, aided and encouraged by military investigators who coaxed him into telling vile lies. From day one, we told the court that if the terrorist were brought to testify, the case would collapse.”

It should be noted that in preparation for the arrest of the five reservists, the Military Advocate General’s Office did not allow the location of terrorists to stop them from persecuting IDF soldiers. Finance Minister Betzalel Smotrich revealed last year that as part of the preparation for the arrest of the five IDF reservists, MAG lawyers proactively called Hamas terrorists in Gaza—terrorists who were held in Sde Teiman and were released to Gaza—and asked them if they had any testimony against IDF soldiers who guarded them there.”

“This is unacceptable,” Smotrich continued. “It’s one thing if there’s a complaint, then it should be investigated. But to send investigators to proactively call Hamas terrorists in Gaza and ask for evidence against IDF soldiers. I’m saying this based on reliable information from people in the military system who were shocked by the instructions they received to carry out against IDF soldiers.”

Smotrich’s statements were later confirmed during a meeting of the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee. The top prosecutor at the military prosecutor’s office admitted that calls were made to terrorists in Gaza to find out about the treatment they received from IDF in Sde Teiman.

This means that 10 IDF soldiers were arrested, interrogated, and later indicted based on terrorists’ testimony!

Meanwhile, searches continue for Tomer-Yerushalmi’s phone, which, according to the police, she probably threw into the sea. The searches are being conducted by dozens of volunteers and divers who joined a public initiative offering a NIS 100,000 reward for anyone who finds the device.

General Maj. Gen. Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi Staged Her Disappearance to Get Rid of Her Phone

Police announced that former Military Advocate General Maj. Gen. Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi and former Chief Military Prosecutor Col. Matan Solomosh, who were arrested last night, will appear at 11 a.m. before the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court for a remand hearing.

Investigators suspect the two were involved in the leak of the Sde Teiman abuse footage and later attempted to cover it up, allegedly providing false information about the internal probe into the matter.

Tomer-Yerushalmi briefly went missing yesterday after reportedly leaving a troubling message for her family, prompting a large-scale search. She was later found safe.

Channel 12 now reports that police believe her disappearance was staged—not a suicide attempt but an effort to dispose of a phone that may contain incriminating evidence. According to the report, she carried two phones: one used to trace her location, and another that she allegedly threw into the sea near Tel Aviv. The “farewell letter” she left behind was described by police sources as deliberately cryptic and inconsistent with typical suicide notes.

Ben-Gvir 'Advocate General's missing phone had evidence against the AG'

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, in a statement at the Otzma Yehudit faction meeting, addressed the Sde Teiman affair and the investigation involving the ex-Military Advocate General, Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi.

Ben-Gvir raised severe allegations regarding Yerushalmi's cell phone, which went missing on Sunday after she disappeared for several hours at the beach in Tel Aviv, and its connection to Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara.

According to the minister, "As I speak, a woman is sitting at the Justice Ministry and shaking from fear; she's afraid that the phone will be found. It is clear to all that it has evidence on it that implicates her in serious crimes. This woman is named Gali Baharav-Miara."

He added, "Why is she afraid? Because last night, the police arrested the MAG. This happened after the Attorney General, who is neck-deep in this affair, did everything she could to protect the MAG, and so that the Deep State's status won't be harmed."

Regarding Tomer-Yerushalmi's phone, he stated: "The MAG lost her phone, not for naught. It is clear to all that when the materials on this phone are revealed, there will be an earthquake. And more precisely, the earth under the Deep State will shake."

Ben-Gvir continued to claim that "the Attorney General is the one who submitted the false affidavit to the Supreme Court together with the Military Advocate General, and she is the one behind the 'celebrity discounts' that she received in the investigation into this severe case, especially allowing her the ability to lose the phone."

He concluded his remarks on the matter: "I believe and hope that, despite the attempts by the AG to sabotage the investigation, the police will manage to find this telephone. It is clear to all that if they find or restore the things on the phone, it will open a Pandora's Box, to reveal the entire truth in this very serious affair, which began with an attempt by the head of the IDF's judicial system to damage the good names of our heroic soldiers."

Ben-Gvir also mentioned the advancement of the death penalty for terrorists, and noted that the bill passed today in the National Security Committee and is expected to be voted on in a first reading on Wednesday. "Every terrorist should know: when he comes to murder, he has one sentence: death."

Our Hero Dr. Eitan Naaman hy"d

Dr. Eitan Naaman, a senior pediatrician at Soroka Hospital, was killed in battle near the Gaza border two days after the 7th October massacre.

Only recently, his widow, Yael, learned the full story of his incredible bravery.

At a bar mitzvah, she happened to meet the military rabbi who handled his body and he told her:

“His hand was clenched, and inside it - a live grenade.”

It turned out to be a Hamas grenade that Dr. Naaman had caught in his hand, intending to throw it back at the terrorists to save the lives of his fellow soldiers.

Later, his commander said:

“When you run out of ammunition, you use the enemy’s weapon.”

A true hero.

What's Behind the "Sde Teiman" Scandal and the Traitor...Broken down to understand

Those of you who haven’t been closely following Hebrew media may have missed the biggest story dominating Israel today. Here's a quick breakdown of how it all unfolded:

It began with an investigation into the alleged abuse of a Hamas terrorist detained at an IDF facility at the start of the war. An edited and biased video of the alleged abuse was quickly leaked to Israeli television and spread worldwide, accompanied by accusations that Israeli soldiers were “raping Palestinian prisoners.” (Side note: this is far from the truth, but the story goes much deeper.) A public outcry led to a formal investigation by the IDF’s deputy advocate general. His findings? He claimed there was “no possible way” to identify the source of the leak, and that the video “did not pose a danger to the State of Israel” despite the enormous damage it caused to Israel’s image and the surge in antisemitism globally. This conclusion was defended before the Supreme Court and in the Knesset, and even backed by Israel's attorney general, who rebuked critics for questioning how the advocate general’s office could investigate its own case, asking, “How dare you question the professionalism of the investigation?” The story then vanished from headlines for over a year while the criminal case against the soldiers continued. Then, a routine polygraph test given to an officer serving as the advocate general’s spokeswoman blew the lid off the entire affair. It turns out that not only was the advocate general herself behind the leak, but she also appointed her own deputy to “investigate” it, conveniently finding no evidence whatsoever. She misled the court, the Knesset, and the public about the entire process. Worse, it has now emerged that there was a secret WhatsApp group of at least nine IDF officers from her department who all knew the truth about the leak and the cover-up, and chose to remain silent. Yesterday, Israel’s justice minister informed the attorney general that she is barred from overseeing the case, since she was complicit in the cover-up and obstructed the investigation. You honestly couldn’t make this up. Those who support the government’s judicial reform now point to this case as the clearest example yet of how deeply entrenched the “deep state” is in Israel’s institutions.

Qatari Dissident Predicts Imminent Collapse of Regime

The Qatari regime is “on the verge of collapse” and “won’t last many more years,” outspoken dissident and human rights activist Khalid al-Hail told Maariv in an explosive interview.  Despite its growing international footprint, Hail warned that deep unrest and mounting internal opposition are bringing the ruling family in Doha to the brink.

Hail, who was imprisoned in Qatar for his activism, claimed that “serious activity to change the regime” has been underway since August. “There will certainly be a fundamental change,” he said. “Not only do I think so, but so do all the intelligence reports we are exposed to — and I know this from my direct contacts.”

According to Hail, an unnamed senior source told him that while Washington remains committed to protecting Qatar as a state, U.S. support does not extend to Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani personally. “The Qatari people need to understand that protection for the country already existed — Trump only confirmed it with his decree,” he said. “I am zealous for my homeland, but I oppose my country being in the hands of a vile and despicable regime.”

Calling the emir “the greatest liar in history,” Hail recalled being personally invited to return to Qatar under assurances of safety — only to be arrested upon arrival. “He told me, ‘Let’s meet one-on-one in Qatar, nobody will touch you.’ The moment I arrived, they put me in prison,” he said.

USA Needs to Watch Iran, Russia & China Sleeper Cells embedded in the USA ready to Explode!

Retired Israeli Ambassador Yoram Ettinger warned in an interview that the United States and Israel are misplacing focus on Gaza and proxy groups while the core danger remains Iran, which he likened to a swamp spawning mosquitoes.

“Chasing Hamas, the Houthis and Hezbollah is like chasing mosquitoes coming out of the Ayatollah’s swamp,” Ettinger told interviewer Alan Skorski.

The comments come after President Trump’s 20-point Middle East peace plan and a joint U.S.-Israel operation inside Iran on June 13 that severely damaged Tehran’s capabilities. Despite the setback, Ettinger said Russia, China and North Korea continue to rearm the Islamic Republic, endangering Israel and all U.S. interests in the region, including oil-producing Arab states.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Vice President JD Vance and top U.S. generals have visited Israel since the June strike, Ettinger noted.

A 2026 threat assessment jointly compiled by the FBI, Department of Homeland Security and Director of National Intelligence warns that Iran, Russia and China are expanding sleeper-cell terror networks inside the United States, the ambassador said.

On Palestinian statehood, Ettinger cited decades of PLO violence — from the 1960s and 1970s in Egypt, Syria, Jordan and Lebanon to the 1990s when Yasser Arafat’s group backed Saddam Hussein’s invasion of Kuwait despite Kuwait hosting hundreds of thousands of Palestinians with full rights.

“Every Arab country knows what a Palestinian state would mean,” he said. Saudi Arabia and others publicly tie normalization with Israel to Palestinian statehood, but Ettinger called it “talking the talk, not walking the walk.”

President Trump’s recent declaration against Israeli annexation of the West Bank is temporary and diplomatic, not a permanent endorsement of a future Palestinian state there, Ettinger said. Granting statehood to the Palestinian Authority in Judea and Samaria runs counter to U.S. interests, he added.

Satmar Rebbe of Monroe R' Aaron Teitelbaum's Spokesperson Officially Endorses the Vicious Antisemite Mamzardi

Let's not forget that it was R' Aaron Teitelbaum backed the murderous Obama Iran deal!

A major internal battle has erupted in the Satmar faction led by Rav Aharon Teitelbaum of Kiryas Joel, after some of its askanim – led by Rabbi Moshe Indig – decided to endorse Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic socialist candidate for mayor of New York City. Mamdani — known for his criticism of Israel, borderline antisemitism, and alignment with radical, far-left causes — continues to struggle for trust among much of the city’s Jewish electorate.

The endorsement, made official at an event in Brooklyn on Sunday afternoon, represents a significant political development. The Ahronim bloc, numbering tens of thousands of voters, has backed the winning mayoral candidate in each of the past two elections — Bill de Blasio in 2013 and Eric Adams in 2021. With Mamdani leading in the latest polls, their latest move appears to follow the same trend.
