How NOT talking Loshon Harah Destroyed Jewish Nationality!

The following is a true record of events regarding an institution that is close to our hearts. The institution was located in a community where many of our children currently reside. It is a most unfortunate story.

INITIALS ARE BEING USED

Initials and first names only have been used so as not to disclose the identities of the parties involved. The truth is, however, that perhaps their identities should be disclosed. If we do not disclose them, the lessons contained in this narrative will not be learned. Some may think that the disclosure of the names of the parties involved might constitute Lashon Harah. The 5TJT editorial staff believes otherwise, but if you feel differently, you will be warned with ample time.

THE PEOPLE INVOLVED

“Ben N.” is a well respected and reputable individual – well-liked both by the Rabbinic and Jewish political establishment, and especially by Rabbi G, the head of the institution involved.
“Yochanan” is someone that thinks differently. He has a very low regard for “Ben N” – suspecting him of very base motives. The atmosphere, however, in the community is one of strong appreciation and regard for the laws of Lashon Harah. It seems that anything Yochanan will say will be dismissed. He will be labeled as a “Baal Lashon Harah.”
Yochanan means well. He wishes to protect the institution. It seems, however, that one man’s protective intent is another man’s violation of Lashon Horah’s prohibitions. Yochanan approaches Rabbi G and gives him his information about Ben N. He hopes that Rabbi G will be reasonable and at least take some action to protect the institution.

RABBI G SAYS IT IS LASHON HARAH

Unfortunately, Yochanan’s worst fears are realized. Rabbi G refuses to listen to Yochanan – labeling what he says as pure, unadulterated Lashon Harah. Yochanan pleads:
“At least listen, then decide..”
“No. Chas V’Shalom.”
“I need you to stop this Lashon Harah immediately. Period. End of story.”

WARNING

5TJT EDITORS BELIEVE THAT THIS NEWS ARTICLE IS NOT LASHON HARAH. HOWEVER, IF YOU FEEL THAT THIS IS LASHON HORAH – DO NOT READ FURTHER AS MORE DETAILS WILL EMERGE REGARDING THE IDENTITIES OF THE INDIVIDUALS INVOLVED AS WELL AS THE INSTITUTION.

The end of the story is not pleasant. Ben N ultimately brought tragedy and shame to the institution. A tremendous Chilul Hashem ensued. Rabbi G’s actions were deplorable. He should have, at least, been concerned for what Yochanan was telling him. One might even place the blame of the tragic turn of events on Rabbi G himself.
Rabbi G should have listened to Yochanan about Ben N.
Unfortunately, he did not.

Tragedy ensued. Rabbi G died as a result of these events. More precisely, he died because of his excessive caution in regard to the laws of Lashon Harah.

For those who haven’t realized, these are the events that precipitated Tzom Gedaliah.
Rabbi G is Gedaliah Ben Achikam. Ben N is Yishmael Ben Nesinah and Yochanan is Yochanan Ben Karayach.
The point is that while it is important to carefully observe the laws of pure speech – there is a flip side that is all too often ignored. Warnings should both be issued and heeded. When we refuse to heed warnings, and tragedy ensues, the person who refused to take protective measures is actually to blame.

This is what lies behind Tzom Gedaliah. It is a fast day that commemorates a tragic time in our people’s history, one that the Gemorah (RH 18b) equates with the destruction of the Beis HaMikdash itself – a jarring thought.
And yet perhaps even more jarring, are the words of the Panim Meiros on the Yerushalmi in Horios (3:5). Gedaliah caused his own death. He was, himself to blame, not only for his death but for those of thousands of others.

When people erroneously forbid information from being disseminated on account of thinking that it is Lashon Harah and that it is absolutely forbidden to pass on the information, people cannot take protective measures. At times, this too can be quite devastating.

Gedaliah Ben Achikam was one of the Gedolei HaDor of his generation. It is a perhaps little known fact, but he was also a Navi. Indeed the Gemorah (Rosh HaShana 18b) explains that Hashem Himself (Zechariah 8:19) equates the death of this great Tzaddik with the destruction of the Bais HaMikdash! Rarely if ever do we find such testimony as to the stature of any individual. Hashem himself is his character witness.

The future of Klal Yisroel was in the hands of this great Tzaddik and Gadol. His decisions were of paramount importance. Notwithstanding his greatness and piety and the fact that he was a prophet of Hashem, Chazal tell us that he made a crucial error in halacha and in its application. Gedaliah refused to take protective measures against Yishmael, when he was warned by Yochanan Ben Korayach of Yishmael Ben Nesanya’s malevolent intent (Yirmiyahu 40:16). The consequences were quite grave indeed. Gedaliah and all his men were brutally murdered (Yirmiyahu 41:2).

The Gemorah tells us (Niddah 61a) that Gedaliah Ben Achikam misused the halachic concept of Lashon HaRah and applied it erroneously. It was a tragic error that resulted not only in his death, the scattering of the nation, but also in the loss of Klal Yisroel’s independence as a nation. Indeed, the repercussions of his error are still felt to this day.

The repercussions are felt in two ways.
Firstly, they are felt in exact ramifications of his miscalculation – that the nation of Israel ceased to be an independent nation.

But secondly, we still have not learned from his example. To this day, there are many well-meaning people who misapply the notion of Lashon HaRah in ways that can cause Klal Yisroel to err and err again.

The results of Gedaliah’s inaction were so grave that the Mesilas Yesharim (chapter twenty) notes that the Gemorah (Niddah 61a) considers it as if Gedaliah himself had killed all of his people! This is a remarkably thought- provoking notion.

At times, the sin of incorrectly “sounding the Lashon Horah warning” and ignoring the information is so grave that one who does so is considered the actual perpetrator of the repercussions that have transpired on account of the silence, whether it be theft, molestation or even murder.

The conclusions from this are quite clear.
Firstly, there is a fine line between protecting Klal Yisroel and violating lashon Horah, and, unfortunately, great people can err in this regard. There are times that it is crucial and imperative that information be given to ward off potential harm to others.

At the same time, there are situations where it is forbidden for people to believe the information, even though they may act upon it to protect themselves. There are also times when the information should not disseminated. No matter what, however, the decision should be made in consultation with Talmidei Chachomim who are attuned both to the need to protect others and to the law of Lashon Harah.

Incorrectly sounding the “lashon horah bells and warnings” when disseminating the information is the right thing to do – is a very serious offense. In Gedaliah ben Achikam’s case – it is akin to murder itself.
The unfortunate reality is that history repeats itself. In the past Jewish media sources, have responsibly reported information to warn others. The information ranged from warning about financial charlatans who prey on people in our community, and about other dangers to members of the community that can and have resulted in Chilul Hashem.

Today, is a day instituted by Chazal about avoiding the tragic error of ignoring warnings and of shooting the messenger. The errors of ignoring warnings were made by none other than the Gadol HaDor –a navi – Gedaliah Ben Achikam. Certainly, there is a profound lesson for all of us to be learned from here.

Chazal place the blame of the tragedy on Gedaliah himself. Yochanan Ben Karayach’s warning about Yishmael Ben Nesanyah should have been heeded. If Gedaliah Ben Achikam would have done so, the narrative in the beginning of this article never would have transpired.

Shana Tova to all Jews!

Frum Songwriter writes jingles for McDonalds

You may have never heard of singer-songwriter Cathy Heller, but chances are you’ve heard her music.
At the moment, McDonald’s is featuring her songs in two commercials — one for frappes, the other for the $2.50 double cheeseburger-and-fries combo. They are the latest in a string of high-profile gigs for Heller, an active member of West Los Angeles’ Pico-Robertson Jewish community, one of the city’s epicenters of Jewish life. In addition to the decidedly unkosher fast food chain, Walmart has licensed Heller’s music for one of its summer commercials, and her songs have appeared in commercials for American Airlines, Hasbro, Lifetime, MTV, Nickelodeon, Special K, the Disney Channel and Disneyland.
Some Gen-Xers may scoff at the idea as “selling out,” but in a business that’s been in decline since the dawn of the Internet, it’s a concept that’s irrelevant today.
“Because the margins are so small on selling a record on iTunes, and people aren’t paying $12 for an album to get the single they want, you don’t make money selling albums any more or touring anymore unless you already have a following,” she tells JTA. “The reason you know of the artists Ingrid Michaelson, American Authors, Imagine Dragons and Snow Patrol is because they license their music.”
Licensing her heartfelt music to film, television and commercials forms the core of Heller’s strategy to define success in the music world on her own terms. You won’t find her hustling for a record deal or waiting around for single-digit paychecks from streaming services. Operating with a do-it-yourself model, Heller writes and publishes her own music under her own business, Catch the Moon Music — and, perhaps most important, she nets all the proceeds when she secures a licensing deal.
“I’m the only artist, as far as I know, who has pitched my own work and gotten this far,” she says.
It may be lucrative but her work, Heller says, is also a conscious effort to bring something positive into the world.
“This is why I write songs called ‘Let Your Colors Shine,’ which is all about how each of us has a spark and it’s so important to share it,” she says. “I write songs like ‘This Is It,’ which is all about knowing each moment is all we really have and living it to the fullest. I write songs called ‘Spread a Little Love’ , all about coming together and spreading the love along. All my songs aspire to [express] a message of hope and remind people how special they are and that they’re not alone.”
A native Floridan, Heller, 36, moved to Los Angeles 12 years ago as an aspiring singer-songwriter after spending two years in Israel studying Torah. That experience, which cemented her spiritual connection to Jewish tradition, never left her.
Heller’s Jewish identity and her spiritual practice, which includes observing Shabbat, provide the chorus to her work week.
“It keeps me grounded and I always know where my North Star is,” she says. “I don’t get caught up in the superficial part of the business, which allows me to really just enjoy making music. It reminds me of who I am and what I’m really here to do. It helps give me clarity and purpose, and it impacts every song I write and every interaction I have.”
The married mom sends her two girls, ages 2 and 3 1/2, to a Conservative synagogue preschool to help infuse them with their own sense of spirituality.
“I feel very connected to Hashem and I want so much for my kids to have that connection to God, to know the source of all life and wisdom, and to know the source of their soul,” she says. “I want them to know they carry an infinite spark and they have amazing potential and great responsibility to be a light.”
Being a “light”onto others is something she takes seriously.
“I love being able to use the contacts I’ve built to help other artists launch their careers,” says Heller, who conducts workshops (in person and via Skype) to assist other singer-songwriters in navigating the shifting music industry. She also represents other artists seeking to license their work.
Heller says she began singing as far back as she can remember, with the dream of one day landing her compositions in films and television. She studied piano and voice as a child and performed musical theater before graduating from Florida State University.
Early in her career, Heller received critical advice to maintain a “polite persistence,” and that’s something she estimates accounts for 90 percent of her working strategy.
“You can’t take rejection personally and must just keep going,” she says. “So much happens for the people who keep showing up — and it doesn’t hurt when your motives are really to spread a little goodness.”
Heller’s first licensing deal was with Kodak in 2007. Another big break came in 2009, when NBC licensed her single “Turn the Sunshine On” for a promotional campaign for its comedies, including “The Office.”
“That was pretty fantastic and gave me lots of exposure,” she says.
Over the years, Heller’s music has been part of the soundtrack for poignant and sweet moments on TV programs, including ABC Family’s “Pretty Little Liars” and “Switched at Birth,” and The WB’s  “One Tree Hill.”
“Usually, fans find my music because they’ll hear a song in a show or in an ad and then they’ll come to find the rest of the songs on iTunes,” says Heller, who also performs at local venues around Los Angeles.
Looking forward, Heller aspires to continue writing, licensing and spreading her optimism to a wider audience.
“I want to inspire more and more people and touch more souls to know they have a deep, intrinsic goodness,” she says. “Songwriting and performing give me so much fulfillment. I feel so expressed and I get to lift other people, so it’s such a a win-win.”

Finally Charedim Campaign to 'Embrace Charedi IDF Soldiers'

Poster in Geulah Section

Rosh Hashana is coming, and the silent frum population in Eretz Yisroel are now Be"achdus to fight the vermin among them.

It's time to tell Roshei Yeshivahs that "Lo Zu Ha'Derech" your incitment against our brothers and sisters in uniform will no longer be tolerated!

Maybe, this will send the message to the "askanim" that violence is an Arab minhag!

Hundreds of ads supporting IDF soldiers were placed in Charedi neighborhoods in Jerusalem last night .

The posters are part of a wide campaign entitled "Embracing the Charedi soldiers." They show a yeshiva student hugging a Charedi soldier and include a call for the public to send in pictures of haredi soldiers. The picture was taken on Geula Street in Jerusalem.

"The Charedi public refuses to be silent any more.

There will be an appropriate response to the waves of hatred directed at our soldiers, the Charedi soldiers, that shows the feelings of the sane majority of the Charedi public," organizers say.

"Over the past two years, most of the Charedi public have opposed the incitement campaign against the soldiers, but has not found a way to express their protest. Now there is a way to do so."

They claim that this is only the first wave in the movement to express support for Charedi soldiers.

The campaign is reportedly financed by a wealthy Israeli businessman who has requested to remain anonymous.

Satmar Wins Big! Palestinian request to fly flag at UN passes General Assembly vote by landslide majority

The two Satmar brothers, who like the brothers Yaakov & Eisav, hate each other, will be unified in their Shalosh Seuda Toirelich to celebrate the raising of the Palestinan Flag at the UN!

There is no question in my mind that as they slurp majes herring and gulp  Malaga Wine they will have the time to slide in some anti-Jewish rhetoric before the Yoim Hadin!

Instead of taking a reckoning and having a little compassion for the 6.2 million brothers and sisters in the land that HKB"H gave us, they will most certainly rant and rave with bulging veins, their hateful  twisted ideas taken directly from Va"Yoel Moshe!

It's time to end this craziness, and realize that the State of Israel is a fact and that most of the Jewish people are very happy about that!
Time to thank Hashem for giving us a country that you will be able to flee to, when the goyim in Monroe get fed up with your constant annexation of land and will because of your violation of the Biblical prohibition of Hisgarus B'eumois, chase you the hell out of there!

The UN General Assembly voted by a landslide majority on Thursday in favor of a Palestinian draft resolution to raise its flag at the United Nations.

There were 119 votes in favor out of 193 UN members. Eight members voted against the draft measure and 45 abstained.

The United States and Israel were among eight countries that voted against the Palestinian-drafted resolution, which says the flags of non-member observer states like Palestine "shall be raised at (UN) Headquarters and United Nations Offices following the flags of the member states."

Most of the 28-nation European Union were among the 45 nations that abstained, though France and more than half a dozen others voted in favor of the Palestinian resolution after the EU split on the issue.

Israeli envoy to the UN Ron Prosor spoke against the resolution in his last speech before being replaced by Danny Danon as UN envoy.

The resolution affects the Vatican as well, as it applies to all non-member observer states. The Vatican's chief delegate to the United Nations on Wednesday said it was unclear whether the Holy See would choose to fly its flag alongside the Palestinians' at UN headquarters if the draft resolution is approved as expected.

The draft resolution says the flags of non-member observer states "shall be raised at (UN) Headquarters and United Nations Offices following the flags of the member states of the United Nations."

Israel has urged member states to oppose the Palestinian draft resolution. UN diplomats say the measure is expected to pass given the widespread support Palestine enjoys among non-aligned developing nations, the largest bloc of UN members.

Initially, the Palestinians had presented their flag-raising initiative as a joint proposal with the Vatican, but the Holy See's mission quickly made clear it would not co-sponsor the resolution and asked that all references to the Vatican be removed.

Archbishop Bernardito Auza, the Vatican's permanent observer at the United Nations, ruled out the possibility that it would let its flag fly at the world body before Pope Francis' speech before a high-level gathering of the General Assembly on Sept. 25.

"We have no intention whatsoever to do that," he said.

Auza added that the Vatican did not co-sponsor the Palestinian resolution "because we have certainly different priorities." He said the Holy See was undecided about whether to allow its flag to be flown at the United Nations at all.

"Whether or not the Holy See in the future would raise its flag, that question is open," he said.

The Vatican and Palestine are the only non-member observer states at the United Nations.

Washington described the Palestinian flag initiative as "counterproductive."

While the United States and Israel are expected to vote against the Palestinian resolution, diplomats said the 28-nation European Union was incapable of reaching a unified position.

While most EU members will abstain, more than half a dozen EU member states - including France, Sweden and others - are expected to vote for the Palestinian draft, diplomats told Reuters.

Eliraz Fein supports rock throwing against IDF even if it may cause death!

The "klavtah" Fein

This is the face of an evil bitch who calls herself Eliraz Fein.

Israel Police has launched an investigation into statements made by Yitzhar resident Mrs. Eliraz Fein following the deadly arson attack in the Shechem area PA (Palestinian Authority) village of Duma that claimed three lives. There is also an open file with police against Mrs. Fein for comments supporting rock-throwing at IDF soldiers.
Police are launching an investigation for alleged incitement by Fein after posting comments supporting the arson attack on Facebook. Mrs. Fein has been questioned in the past after expressing her opinion in a closed forum for Shomron residents, supporting throwing rocks at Jews in certain circumstances, even if such an act would lead to the death of an IDF soldier. She has also spoken out in support of the recent arson attack against a Church in the Tiveria area.

Khamenei & Satmar: "Israel won’t survive next 25 years "

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Wednesday, that Israel will not survive the next 25 years, making a series of threatening remarks published online.

Reb Yoel Teitelbaum said the exact same sentence about Israel in 1956 during the Suez Campaign!

So Satmar followers: How does this exact quote sound like coming from the Iranian Rasha? Hmmmm?

How do you guys  explain  the Rebbe's words?
Well! just like the Satmar's Rebbe's words did not come B"H to fruition, so too will the hateful words of this Sonei Yisrael never come to fruition!

In a quote posted to Twitter by Khamenei’s official account, Khamenei addresses Israel, saying, “You will not see next 25 years,” and adds that the Jewish state will be hounded until it is destroyed.

The quote comes against a backdrop of a photograph apparently showing the Iranian leader walking on an Israeli flag painted on a sidewalk.
“After negotiations, in Zionist regime they said they had no more concern about Iran for next 25 years; I’d say: Firstly, you will not see next 25 years; God willing, there will be nothing as Zionist regime by next 25 years. Secondly, until then, struggling, heroic and jihadi morale will leave no moment of serenity for Zionists,” the quote from Iran’s top leader reads in broken English.
The quote was apparently taken from a speech given earlier in the day.

Open Letter from a heartbroken friend to R' Aaron Teitelbaum, Satmar Rebbe of Kiryas Yoel

I just received the following letter that needs no commentary, I will just translate it into English!

Loose Translation in Red

‏I got your number from a friend of mine, and he told me that you have a social media following from the Williamsburg Satmar Community, and if you post my message, it will get to the right places!

The following are words that are from my heart, and I hope will be well received by the hearts of your readers,

We are just days away from the Day of Judgement, and every Jew does a reckoning if they did a sin or if they hurt someone during the past year.  Jews get up early to say Selichos, they run to Rebbis, and to  cemeteries to be assured that the prayers will be answered so that they  have a great year. We get ready for this great holiday by learning with our children, by shopping and buying fish and meat, and everything runs like a clock and even the Wiliamsburg train runs on time!

Today, the third day of Selichos I decided to go to Monsey to pray at the grave of the Saintly Ribnitzer Rebbe.
I prayed that my good friend goes to shul this Rosh Hashana and that he return to Judaism.
This friend was a classmate of mine in yeshiva, and got married to a heimeshe girl from a nice heimeshe family. Both of his parents are pillars of the community.

Unfortunately, and woe to all of us, my friend is no longer Jewish!  My friend was Jew just like me, both he and his wife come from the most exalted beautiful Satmar homes, and they are no longer Jewish.  Their children are no longer Jews!
What I am trying to say is, not that they  are no longer actually  Jewish, but they will never again know or experience A Rosh Hashana or a Yom Kippur and their children will never even know to go to a shul!
Yes Williamsburg goes on as if nothing happened!
The Rebbe, he should live and be well, will go to the bimah and cry!
I bought a seat on Hooper Street Shul, and I will cry along with the Rebbe as he yells and cries about the children that went off the derech!
I recall, that last year the Rebbe cried so much about the OTDs' that even on Hoshana Rabba he was still so upset about the situation!
Yes Rebbe we cry about the OTDS' (off the derech)!

Rebbe: I want to tell you that the reason my friend, his wife and his children are "off the derech" is because of the brutality of your moised in Williamsburg!
They chased him and his family away with utmost cruelty! He had no school for his children!
Why? you ask?
Because my friend and his wife are Aroinim (followers of R' Aron Teitelbaum) ! And Zalonim (followers of R' Zalman Leib Teitelbaum) will not of course accept Aronim in their schools!
Pupa refused to accept the children and Viznitz followed suit!
So the family wandered to Boro-Park, because they couldn't be in Williamsburg in limbo, while the children had no place in any of the Williamsburg yeshivois!
In Boro-Park, the mainstream yeshivois refused to accept the children because they came from Williamsburg, so they placed the children in a Yeshivah not so suitable, and had to reveal to the parents of this school their embarrassing situation!

Rebbe: I have one request, before you approach the bima to cry, I want you to know that I am already crying! This young guy was my friend and had grand plans to build a noble Jewish home just like me.
Rebbe: I am crying over his descendants that will never wear tefillin again or have knowledge that G-d is our Creator.
Rebbe: There isn't another case  in the entire history of the  American Galus where an entire family, a husband, wife and children went off the derech together ..not to be orthodox Jews in one shot!
All because of your Moisdos HaTorah!
This story is already 5 years old, and the Williamsburg organization have learned absolutely zero!
With their despicable behavior they are certainly going to destroy more families!
Rebbe: Only you can stop this brutality from the administrators of your Moisdos!

‏Rebbe: Before you give your speech that you give before the Shofar blowing, Scream at the Williamsburg administrators and beg them to save Jewish children and beg them to prevent parents from becoming goyim and sabbath desecrators!
Tell them to stop pushing away our children  and  stop making it so tough just to be a religious Jew. Everyone wants to be a good Jew but not everyone comes from the same type of home and not everyone has the same nature ... why don't don't you take everyone into account?

Leaders: Have a good cry over your own descendants, Hashem does not  fear  you guys! Hashem is much stronger than you . You guys drove  away G-d's children with brutality and cruelness .
And everyone including you guys will have to face G-D this Rosh Hashana, and when the angel looks around and asks why is my friend and his children not in shul, and we will of course have to tell him the truth, that the reason why he and his family isn't in shul is because his wife wore a Sheitel (instead of a "shpitzal) while putting her children on the bus,and because of that you guys decided that the family doesn't have to remain Jewish, and the children can no longer remain in Satmar Mosdois!

I am no wealthy guy, I am a quiet young guy that works very hard to make a living and my occupation gives me no time even to talk, I work on the hour. Nevertheless, I took the time to go to Monsey to the grave (of the Ribnitzer Rebbe)  at my expense.
I decided to write this letter while on my way home to Williamsburg ...

Police Release Cause Of Triple Fatal Crash On Route 17

POLICE REPORT
The State Police in Wurtsboro are investigating a one car fatal motor vehicle accident that claimed the lives of three New York City residents. The accident occurred on 09/07/15 at approximately 4:30 PM on State Route 17 eastbound near Exit 112 in the Town of Mamakating. The vehicle, occupied by six family members, was returning to New York City after spending the weekend at a resort in the Ellenville area.
Based upon the initial investigation, the vehicle was traveling eastbound in the driving lane (right lane) and attempts to move into the passing lane (left lane). An uninvolved vehicle was already in the passing lane so the vehicle’s operator quickly steers back into the the driving lane. The operator overcorrects the steering and leaves the roadway off of the right shoulder. The operator again overcorrects the steering to the left causing the vehicle to overturn. The vehicle rolls on to its side, becomes airborn, and rolls several more times before finally coming to rest.
The deceased were identified as Morris Faitelewicz age 58 (vehicle operator), his wife Beth Faitelewicz age 54 both of New York City, and their soon to be son-in-law Yehuda Bayme age 31 of the Bronx. The other passengers in the vehicle were Jason Faitelewicz age 29, Sheryl Faitelewicz age 27, and Alan Faitelewicz age 23 all of New York City and children of Morris and Beth Faitelewicz.
The accident was investigated by State Police Members from the Wurtsboro and Liberty barracks, SP Wurtsboro BCI, Troop F Forensic Investigation Unit, and the Troop F Collision Reconstruction Unit. The State Police were assisted at the scene by Hatzolah and the Wurtsboro Fire Department. The cause of the accident remains under investigation and any persons with information are asked to contact SP Wurtsboro BCI at (845) 888-5379.

Morris Fatelewicz and his wife Beth and Yehuda Bayme Killed on Route 17

Morris & Beth Fatelewicz z"l
A husband, his wife and their future son-in-law were killed in a tragic vehicular accident that left their other children in critical condition in Rock Hill, New York, this afternoon.

New York State Police officers and Hatzolah paramedics responded to a multi-car accident on Route 17, at Exit 112, at approximately 4:30 p.m. today.
The husband, Mr. Morris Fatelewicz z”l, was a devoted Hatzolah member, ES-17, from the Lower East Side of New York City and previously served as a captain with the NYPD Auxiliary Police. His wife, Mrs. Beth Faitelewicz a”h, was a nurse at Beth Israel Medical Center in Manhattan.
Their future son-in-law, who was killed in the accident, was Yehuda Bayme z”l of Riverdale, New York. Yehudah had gotten engaged at the end of June to Martin’s and Beth’s daughter, Shani.

The survivors, who are in serious condition, include the couple’s two sons and their daughter, Shani, the kallah.
The Faitelewitzes had celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary in June.
Mr. Faitelewicz was a second vice chairperson of Community Board 3 and served as citywide coordinator/deputy inspector of the New York Police Department Auxiliary Police Support Emergency Services Rescue Unit.
Mr. Faitelewicz, with 30 years of service, was commanding officer of the police auxiliary volunteer E.M.S. unit in the World Trade Center area and supervised other auxiliary units at Ground Zero for nearly nine months after 9/11. He received a New York City Council proclamation in September 2002 honoring his unit for its volunteer work at Ground Zero on and after 9/11, as well as at other major incidents, and the Port Authority’s Exceptional Service Award in June of 2002 for his work at Ground Zero.
In a sad twist, Morris was miraculously saved on 9/11 as he worked with hundreds of other Hatzolah members to save lives. Unfortunately, he was taken from this world of the same date that 9/11 happened – כג אלול.
Mr. Fatelewitz served as a senior Clinical Cardiology Instructor at Mt. Sinai Heart and owned Pre-Hospital & Hospital Emergency Cardiac Care Consultants.
The Faitelewitzes are survived by their sons, Avi and Yaakov.
Further details will be posted as they become available.

WHY DEBBIE WASSERMAN SCHULTZ IS CRYING

Democratic National Committee chair
Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL)
4%
cried over the Iran deal on CNN’s State of the Union this weekend when she was asked by host Jake Tapper what she would say to fellow Jews who would say to her that she had “sold out Israel” by casting a vote in favor of the agreement.

Wasserman Schultz briefly lost her composure as she argued that she believed she had strengthened Israeli and American security by supporting it.
You know, I’m the first Jewish woman to represent Florida in Congress. I’m a Jewish mother. And I wrote an op-ed today that is in The Miami Herald, my home–one of my hometown papers that talked about my Jewish heart [chokes up] and how important this was to me that, as a Jewish mother, that we have a concept of l’dor v’dor, from generation to generation.
There’s nothing more important to me, as a Jew, to ensure that Israel’s existence is there throughout our generations. And I’m confident that the process I have gone through to reach this decision is one that will ensure that Israel will be there forever. It’s the homeland of my people. I’m an American citizen, and I believe fervently in protecting America’s national security interests. And there’s no way that we would be able to ensure that better than approving this deal and ensuring that Iran is not ever able to get access to nuclear weapons, and that we can shift our focus with the rest of the world on going after their terrorist ambitions.
And, most importantly, I had the privilege of talking with President Obama last night, who assured me that, as we move forward and discuss with Israel enhanced–the enhanced security package that will absolutely be essential for us to provide to Israel, as well as ensure that we tighten the ability–our ability to enforce this deal, that I will be part of a group of members of Congress that will be working with him and his administration on that. That’s critical for me.
Wasserman Schultz’s defense can be summarized as follows:
 1. She cares deeply about Israel’s existence, which ought to mean she has made the right decision.

2. The Iran deal protects Israel because it prevents Iran from “ever” gaining access to nuclear weapons.

3. The Iran deal allows the world to shift focus to the regime’s terrorism.

4. The president will offer Israel an “enhanced security package” that will be “essential” in the aftermath of the Iran deal.

None of these arguments is convincing. Let us take each in turn.

1. Wasserman Schultz may care about Israel, but that is not reflected in her political leadership. During her time as chair, the Democrats have moved away from pro-Israel positions–most visibly in the floor fight at the 2012 Democratic National Convention. People can care about an issue and still be wrong. And, quite possibly, she cries because she really does care–and knows she is wrong.

2. Wasserman Schultz is wrong that the deal prevents Iran from “ever” attaining nuclear weapons. It is, at best, a temporary deal. The so-called “permanent” provisions citied by President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry are non-binding and voluntary. Even the deal’s defenders–such as, lately, Colin Powell–acknowledge that the deal merely kicks the can down the road. If Wasserman Schultz thinks otherwise, she is deeply confused.

3. The Iran deal does not shift the world’s focus to terrorism. Clearly, it does the opposite by providing the regime with hundreds of billions of dollars in sanctions relief that even the Obama administration admits will be used, at least partly, to fund terror. Confronting Iran’s terror in the region would also require a dramatic escalation in the U.S. military presence in the region. The Obama administration is plainly moving in the opposite direction.

4. Unlike the Saudis, who have traded away their public opposition to the Iran deal in exchange for sophisticated weaponry, the Israeli government has resisted the Obama administration’s offers of military aid in exchange for supporting the Iran deal.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sees this as an existential and moral issue, and has refused to be bought. And if the Iran deal makes Israel safer, why does it need new weapons in the aftermath?
So none of Wasserman Schultz’s arguments to Jake Tapper suffice. In her article in the Miami Herald, she offered a more detailed explanation of her position. It is one of the more heartfelt defenses of the Iran deal yet, but still fails. She accepts, for example, the president’s claim that “Iran cannot self-inspect.” She does so on the basis of classified information about Iran’s side deals with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
We still do not know, however, if she has actually read the documents–nor do we know why they have not been presented to Congress, as required by law. To believe her, we simply have to trust President Obama, who has misled Americans throughout this process.
Wasserman Schultz’s tears are real–this has probably been her toughest ordeal. But she knows she has chosen party over principle. At some level, even in the most political of souls, that decision has to hurt. As well it should.

Frum secretary of President Rivlin makes Huge Kiddush Hashem meeting Pope Francis

Yesterday in Rome Israeli President Ruvi Rivlin
and his personal secretary Rivka Ravitz (orthodox woman) went to the Vatican to visit Pope Francis!

Protocol is when you meet the pope you shake hands and bow down

When it came to Rivka's turn to do so she explained to the pope that according to Jewish law a
woman is not allowed to shake a mans hand and can't bow to a cross (on his
necklace )
Look at this picture and see the pope covering the cross and bows to her as respect
to Jewish law (halacha)!!!

Here ia abit of Rivka Ravit's background!
