‘Nightmare scenario’ for Israel as Islamic alliance takes shape
A new defense alliance between Saudi Arabia, Turkey and nuclear-armed Pakistan is likely to pose a serious long-term threat to Israel, Jonathan Pollard warned this week.

A newly formed defense alliance bringing together Saudi Arabia, Turkey and nuclear-armed Pakistan could dramatically reshape Israel’s strategic environment in the years ahead, according to Jonathan Pollard.
The three countries signed the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement on Aug. 7, establishing a collective-defense arrangement under which an armed attack against one member would be regarded as an attack against all three.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has compared the principle to NATO’s Article 5 collective-defense clause, although the precise military obligations imposed on each country remain unclear.
Writing in an analysis published by Israel National News, Pollard warned that Israel should focus not only on what the alliance is today, but on what it could eventually become.
“The nightmare scenario is not necessarily that the Mecca agreement immediately becomes an Islamic NATO,” Pollard wrote. “The nightmare is that it gradually becomes one.”

Did the missing Mother & Daughter Vanish Voluntarily ??
The Rishon L’Tzion Magistrate’s Court on Thursday approved a request by Lahav 433’s National Unit to impose a gag order on the investigation into the disappearance of Mali Yahalomi, 50, and her daughter Liel, 23, in Vienna, Ynet reported.
The order prohibits publication of any details from the investigation and will remain in effect until September 13. “This means that any publication from this point onward constitutes a criminal offense,” police stressed.
The investigation was transferred to Lahav 433 on Wednesday. An initial Israel Police probe indicated that there are signs that the two may have disappeared on their own volition. Investigators are examining indications that location data was deleted from the women’s mobile phones several days before they disappeared. They are also examining the possibility that the mother and daughter had obtained a significant amount of cash before leaving Israel.
In addition, the Austrian Kronen Zeitung newspaper reported Wednesday evening, citing Vienna police, that there was “no indication of criminal activity” in the case. The statement means that Vienna police currently believe there are no signs that a criminal offense is being or has been committed in connection with the case.
Overnight, the family issued a statement addressing the reports and said family members had given testimony to Lahav 433 and provided investigators with all the information in their possession.
“The Yahalomi family views with great severity the briefings and reports circulated in recent hours in the name of officials from the Israel Police Spokesperson’s Division, which create the public impression that a conclusion has already been established regarding the circumstances of Mali and Liel’s disappearance,” the statement said.
The family stressed that “some of the information that was published was not presented to the family, and the family possesses information that contradicts some of the claims raised in the reports. This information was also presented to the family by official Israel Police representatives who were in contact with the family.”
“It should be noted that according to the information provided by Israel Police, there was no unusual activity in Mali and Liel’s bank accounts, and the last transaction took place on August 3. If Israel Police possesses data and documents substantiating the claims that were published, the family requests that they be presented as part of the investigation and examined against the information in its possession.”
“The family therefore wishes to make unequivocally clear that, contrary to what was publicized by the police spokesperson, at the present stage there is no basis whatsoever to rule out the possibility of a terrorist incident motivated by nationalism.”
“Mali and Liel Yahalomi have been out of contact since Friday evening, August 7. The loss of contact is completely out of character. Throughout the trip, they remained in contact with the family, shared photos and experiences, and then contact with them suddenly ceased.”
“As long as Mali and Liel have not been located, and as long as the possibility of a terrorist incident has not been ruled out on the basis of clear findings, the family demands that Israel Police, security and intelligence agencies, and the Austrian authorities continue to examine this scenario with the utmost seriousness and with all the means at their disposal.”
“The family is not seeking to determine through the media what happened to Mali and Liel. By the same token, it is not prepared to accept a situation in which the scenario that they voluntarily cut off contact is elevated to the status of a conclusion before the completion of the investigations.”

Why Every Single Jew Needs the Jewish State!

I myself was educated in those very moisdois, and I can say firsthand: there was absolutely no effort on the part of the institutions to instill in us a love for Eretz Yisrael. I am choosing my words carefully. I am not talking about the “State of Israel.” I am talking about Eretz Yisrael, the land we mention constantly in our tefillos and brachos.
Not once did anyone encourage us to think about the words we say in Al HaMichya:

Nor did anyone urge us to reflect on what we say be’kavvanah in Birchas HaMazon:

I am not entering the politics of Zionism—that is not my point. But I am willing to bet that Jews in the concentration camps did think deeply about these tefillos, assuming they even had food to make a bracha on.
Growing up among survivors, I saw how the Holocaust hovered silently over many homes. People rarely spoke about it. No one I knew had grandparents; some had a few uncles or aunts; cousins were scarce. There was no need for “Holocaust Studies” in the yeshivas—we lived with survivors, felt their pain during Yizkor, and saw the tension every year during Iyar, Sivan, and Tammuz when survivors fought over the amud.
But I assumed that my children and grandchildren would be taught about the Holocaust in their yeshivas. That never happened.
I began to wonder: Why the reluctance? And after speaking with many children of survivors—people now in their 70s and 80s—giving them my perspective, they said that I was spot on.
If you teach the Holocaust honestly, unavoidable questions arise:
Why didn’t they escape?
Did they know what was coming?
Did rabbanim advise them to stay?
And the most uncomfortable question of all: How is it that Jews living in Eretz Yisrael survived, while most of the Gedoilim that were against a medina perished?
Yeshivas avoid these questions because they cannot answer them truthfully And even more, because answering them might lead to a conclusion they do not want to articulate:
That maybe Jews do need a State—so that we are never refugees again. Whatever you think of the State of Israel, their doors are open to ALL Jews, there are no Jewish refugees anywhere in the world because we do have a State!
This is the reason Yeshivas refuse to teach the Holocaust, they are afraid that the students, that their typical Shmulie or Yankee would then naturally think, "wow how lucky am I to live in a generation where there is a Jewish State that allows us all in" "hey, thank G-d, we have a State, where we can run to" but that thinking is exactly thay don't want because it goes against their agenda!
So they determined that its better not to teach about the worst tragedy in the history of Klall Yisrael which happened not too long ago, and there are still witnesses to that tragedy, to hold on to their false beliefs. Is it any wonder that we see Yeshivah Boys holding signs that they would rather be in "Aushwich than enlist!?" They have no clue the living hell Jews many still alive, went through! Is it any wonder that they call Jewish Children in uniform "Nazis?"
In the three years since October 7, over 100,000 Jews have made Aliyah. I watch the new olim disembark from El Al, and I rarely see Charedim among them. The olim are overwhelmingly Modern Orthodox, YU, or Dati Leumi.
Why?
Because their moisdois did instill a love of Eretz Yisrael. They now see the writing on the wall and are doing the natural thing—coming home.
Charedim, on the other hand, were not taught to love Eretz Yisrael. Many were taught—"lehepach" implicitly or explicitly—to resent it.
And instead of saying that outright, they offer excuses:
“It was built by secular Jews.” So was the Second Beis HaMikdash—see Ezra.
“The Three Oaths.” The Rambam never mentions them in his extensive Mishna Torah. The Shulchan Aruch never mentions them. Tannaim, Amoraim, Geonim, Rishonim, Acharonim, talmedei Ha'Gra and Talmedei Bal Shem Tov made Aliyah without ever referencing them.
“The army will make my children go off the derech.” There is much work to be done to integrate Charedim safely, yes. But tens of thousands of Charedim have gone off the derech without ever serving. No one is guaranteed “erliche children.” For that we need to daven! The Mordechai writes that the Rabbeinu Gershom had a son that converted to Christianity and the Rabbeinu Gershom sat shiva twice—once for the conversion, once for the death.At least in the army, a child is protecting Jewish lives.

Dramatic Radicalization Within Israel's Gur Hasidic Movement*
Journalist Tuvia Yagelnik reports growing ties between senior figures in the Gur Hasidic movement and the radical Jerusalem Faction, Peleg!
According to the report, Jerusalem Faction activists and draft evaders have been invited to address Gur audiences, where they were reportedly welcomed as heroes.
One influential source described the shift bluntly:

Former Mossad chief Yossi Cohen said Tuesday that Israeli intelligence personnel had repeatedly entered Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility before it was targeted by the United States, describing the destruction of the underground site as a long-awaited achievement.
“We toured the Fordow nuclear site many times in order to understand the site,” Cohen said at the Galilee Forum in Safed. He did not say when the visits took place or provide details about the operations.
Cohen said the U.S. attack on the facility during the June 2025 Israel-Iran war represented the culmination of years of concern over the site.
“Its bombing by the Americans was the fulfillment of all my dreams,” he said.
The United States attacked Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan on June 22, 2025, during the 12-day conflict. Fordow, which is built deep inside a mountain, was struck with U.S. bunker-busting bombs.
Iran subsequently said the attacks caused limited damage and that significant equipment and materials had been removed from Fordow.
Tehran also said damage at Natanz was concentrated mainly in above-ground areas, while parts of the Isfahan nuclear complex were damaged.
Cohen also downplayed the immediate significance of Iran’s stockpile of uranium enriched to 60%.
“Sixty percent enriched uranium is still far from a bomb,” he said.
His assessment contrasts with warnings from nuclear experts that uranium enriched to 60% can be further enriched to weapons-grade levels relatively quickly.
David Albright, president of the Institute for Science and International Security, has said the process could potentially take weeks or less, depending on Iran’s capabilities and operating conditions.
Israel has also assessed that Iran may have moved some of its uranium enriched to 60% to the Pickaxe Mountain site, a fortified underground facility about 2 kilometers from the Natanz nuclear complex, following the 2025 strikes.
