Is Rachel Buried in the "Kever Rachel" we know today? Not according to Nach
Could this be the REAL tomb of Rachel??
Most visitors know the traditional site of Kever Rachel near Bethlehem. But there's another fascinating tradition that points somewhere else.
This is Kubur Bnei Yisrael, in the territory of Benjamin.
The discussion centers around a remarkable verse in I Samuel 10:2. As the prophet Samuel sends Saul on his way, he tells him:
"You will find two men by Rachel's tomb in the border of Benjamin..."
That detail has intrigued commentators, historians, and archaeologists for centuries. If Rachel was buried near Bethlehem, how does this verse fit? (There are also a bunch of other verses that fit perfectly with this site, but that is for a full tour)
Some explain that the ancient border between Judah and Benjamin ran through the Bethlehem area. Others believe this verse preserves the memory of a different location—one associated with the site you see in this video.
I'm not trying to settle a centuries-old debate.
I simply love sharing the places where the Land of Israel makes us slow down, reopen the Tanach, and ask deeper questions.

Bnei Brak Pauses Gender-Separated Sidewalk Plan
The city of Bnei Brak has suspended a proposed plan to designate separate walking sides for men and women after it sparked widespread criticism and legal objections in Bnei-Brak itself.
The initiative was intended for parts of Shlomo Hamelech and Ezra streets, where large crowds frequently gather for weddings. Local rabbinic leaders supported the idea, as a way to improve pedestrian flow, but never consulted their own congregants that were appalled and outraged. The signs were briefly put up before being taken down.
Following the backlash, city officials clarified that the proposal will not become a permanent feature. Instead, any separation would only be considered as a temporary crowd-management measure during particularly busy events.
Civil Erupts Between Charedie Parties Shas & Degel/Aguda
Tensions within Israel’s Chareidi political camp escalated dramatically over the weekend as Shas chairman Aryeh Deri launched a blistering attack against Motti Babtchik, accusing him of working against the Torah world. Babtchik fired back with an equally sharp response, insisting that his efforts to bring down the government were carried out under the direction of the leadership of United Torah Judaism and its rabbinic authorities.
The extraordinary public exchange comes as friction between Shas and United Torah Judaism continues to intensify ahead of the upcoming elections, exposing growing divisions within the chareidi political bloc following the collapse of the coalition over the failure to pass a draft exemption law for yeshiva students.
According to comments revealed in the weekly Mishpacha magazine column, Deri harshly criticized Babtchik, saying, “He is worse than the opposition. He is working against the Torah world. It is forbidden to cooperate with him or even speak to him.”
Babtchik responded by rejecting Deri’s accusations outright and defending his role in the political crisis that ultimately led to the government’s downfall.
“I am sorry about Deri’s remarks,” Babtchik said. “As is well known, all of my efforts to bring down the government were carried out on behalf of the chairman of United Torah Judaism and under the instructions of our rabbinic leaders, after Netanyahu failed to fulfill his commitment to pass a draft law.”
He then turned his criticism directly toward the Shas leader, accusing Deri of refusing to leave the coalition despite the guidance of his own rabbinic leadership.
“Deri insisted on clinging to his seat, contrary to the view of his rabbanim, the members of the Moetzes Chachmei HaTorah,” Babtchik said. “The anger among the Sephardic public toward him is justified, and it is unfortunate that instead of correcting his own ways, he is looking for others to blame.”
Responding to Deri’s assertion that he was “worse than the left,” Babtchik argued that the accusation reflected how disconnected Deri has become from political reality.
“Deri’s statement mainly reflects how out of touch he is,” Babtchik said. “While I initiated and built the right-wing bloc that stood alongside Netanyahu through four election campaigns, he will forever be remembered for signing the Oslo Accords.”
The unusually personal exchange marks one of the sharpest public confrontations between senior figures associated with Shas and United Torah Judaism in recent years and underscores the deepening political divisions within Israel’s chareidi parties as they prepare for another national election.
Zev Jabotinsky the Prophet that no one listened to.
The author Andrew Getraer is wondering why no one listened to Zev Jabotinsky's dire warning in 1938 that a destruction of European Jewry was a sure thing in coming, but I am not surprised at all.
I grew up amongst survivors, and I remember them saying that Jabotinsky was going frum shul to shul to warn them and the Rabbanim would not let him in to speak, why?
Because he was a Zionist and they didn't want anyone making Aliya or even going to the USA which they called the "treifina medina" they believed that Hitler would never ever come to Hungary and Romania.
Frum Jews especially what we now know as "Charedim" are disconnected from history and even their very own history, they don't, on principle refuse to even learn Nach except if a verse is mentioned in the gemarrah.
But they learned nothing!
In New York City they elected a Muslim antisemitic Mayor whose rhetoric of hate aginst the State of Israel instigated the stabbings against Jews just last week, yet Satmar who endorsed this vile cesspool of hate, have yet to join the chorus of Jews condemning the Mayor's hate speech? Why? Because they believe the Mayor is going to come through for their Mosidois that preach and embed hate against other Jews living in Israel. (see the side bar "The Williamsburg Bubbie from Hell ")

The Jewish Sages say that prophecy ceased 2,500 years ago. I'm not so sure.
The Prophet Jeremiah spent years trying to warn the Jews of his time that disaster, death, and destruction were coming unless they took action. In the 20th Century, another man tried to do the same.
The brilliant writer and Zionist leader Zev Jabotinsky spent years trying to warn the Jews of his time that disaster, death, and destruction were coming unless they took action.
On Tisha B'Av 1938, on the eve of the Holocaust, he delivered this speech in Warsaw, Poland:
“It is for three years that I have been calling on you, Jews of Poland, the glory of world Jewry, with an appeal. I have been ceaselessly warning you that the catastrophe is coming closer.
My hair has turned white, and I have aged in these years because my heart is bleeding, for you, dear brothers and sisters, do not see the volcano that will soon begin to spurt out the fire of destruction.
I see a terrifying sight. The time is short in which one can still be saved.
I know: you do not see because you are bothered and rushing about with everyday worries … Listen to my remarks at the twelfth hour.
For God’s sake, may each one save his life while there is still time. And time is short.
I want to say one more thing to you on this day of the Ninth of Av: Those who will succeed to escape from the catastrophe will merit a moment of great Jewish joy — the rebirth and rise of a Jewish State.
I do not know if I will earn that. My son, yes!
I believe in this just as I am sure that tomorrow morning the sun will shine once again. I believe in this with total faith.”
Like Jeremiah, Jabotinsky prophesied in vain, was ostracized by the Jewish leaders of his day, and broke himself trying to save his people. And like Jeremiah, his prophecy came true.
Likewise, Theodor Herzl was a prophet. The poet Uri Zvi Greenberg was a prophet. No one listened.
Are there prophets today, deeply caring, visionary people who see the disaster before us, are trying to warn us, and that no one wants to believe?

Drama in Brooklyn: Jewish Husband Hears Attack on Wife Through Phone, Rushes Home and Fights Armed IntruderA terrifying incident unfolded Monday afternoon in Brooklyn when a man posing as a Con Edison utility worker allegedly forced his way into the home of a Jewish family and attacked the mother while a child was inside the house.
According to reports, the suspect arrived at the family’s door dressed to appear as a Con Edison employee. As soon as the woman opened the door, he allegedly forced his way inside, pulled out a handgun, and began choking her.
Then the situation took an extraordinary turn.
The woman’s husband had left the house only minutes earlier and was about two blocks away. The family’s Ring security camera was connected to his phone, allowing him to hear his wife’s screams. Realizing she was in immediate danger, he turned around and sprinted back home.
When he arrived, he confronted the armed intruder. During a violent struggle, he managed to wrestle the gun away from the suspect and struck him in the head until he lost consciousness.
While the suspect was unconscious, the wife was able to escape the house with the baby as her husband continued protecting the family.
The suspect later regained consciousness, fled the scene, and stole several items, including a cellphone. Ironically, that phone helped volunteers from the Crown Heights Shomrim track his movements. After several hours, he was located and arrested by the New York City Police Department.
The woman was taken to a hospital with visible marks on her neck consistent with strangulation.
The 56-year-old suspect now faces numerous serious charges, including robbery, strangulation, burglary, weapons possession, and unlawful imprisonment.
Amid this frightening ordeal, many have praised the husband’s extraordinary courage. After hearing his wife’s cries for help through his phone, he raced back to the house and risked his own life by confronting an armed attacker to protect his wife and family.
Credit has also been given to the Crown Heights Shomrim volunteers, whose assistance helped authorities locate and arrest the suspect
