Leaked Audio Highlights Biden’s Mental Lapses

 

Newly released audio obtained by Axios reveals moments during a 2023 interview between then-special counsel Robert Hur and former  President Joe Biden in which Biden appeared to struggle with recalling key personal and historical details.

According to Axios, Biden seemed uncertain about the year his late son, Beau Biden, passed away and incorrectly identified the year Donald Trump was elected president. Beau Biden died of brain cancer in 2015, and Trump was elected in November 2016.

In one exchange, Hur asked Biden about the handling of documents related to his post-vice-presidency initiatives, including the Penn Biden Center, the Biden Institute, and the Cancer Moonshot. Biden responded, hesitating: “Well… I, I, I, I, I, I don’t know. This is what — 2017, 2018, that area?”

Biden then referred to the emotional toll he was experiencing at the time, saying, “Remember, in this time frame, my son is either been deployed or is dying.” He added that people had still been encouraging him to run for office, though then-President Obama did not believe he had the best chance of winning.

The recording also captures Biden asking, “What month did Beau die? Oh, God, May 30? Was it 2015 he died? I think it’s 2015,” and mistakenly questioning whether “Trump gets elected in November of 2017?”

These excerpts align with previous reports from Breitbart News, which in March 2024 detailed several memory lapses shown in the transcript of the same interview. The Biden administration previously declined to release the audio, citing executive privilege in May 2024 after House Republicans issued a subpoena for the recordings.

According to Breitbart, Special Counsel Hur investigated Biden’s handling of classified documents found at multiple locations. Despite noting that Biden had “willfully retained” these documents, Hur declined to recommend charges. His decision was influenced, in part, by Biden’s diminished mental sharpness. Hur’s February 2024 report stated that a jury would likely view Biden as “a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,” making a conviction difficult.

Trump Tears Into Bruce Springstein "Dumb as a Rock"

 

President Donald Trump used social media to tear into “dumb as a rock” Bruce Springsteen for criticizing him and his administration while performing overseas.

During the opening night of a European tour with his E Street Band on Wednesday in Manchester, England, Springsteen told the crowd that America “is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous administration.”

Trump commented about the left-leaning liberal musician on his social media platform Friday morning.

“I see that Highly Overrated Bruce Springsteen goes to a Foreign Country to speak badly about the President of the United States,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “Never liked him, never liked his music, or his Radical Left Politics and, importantly, he’s not a talented guy — Just a pushy, obnoxious JERK, who fervently supported Crooked Joe Biden, a mentally incompetent FOOL, and our WORST EVER President, who came close to destroying our Country.

“If I wasn’t elected, it would have been GONE by now! Sleepy Joe didn’t have a clue as to what he was doing, but Springsteen is ‘dumb as a rock,’ and couldln’t see what was going on, or could he (which is even worse!)? This dried out ‘prune’ of a rocker (his skin is all atrophied!) ought to KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT until he gets back into the Country, that’s just ‘standard fare.’ Then we’ll all see how it goes for him!”

Springsteen has been a longtime supporter of the Democratic Party and is a close friend of former President Barack Obama, The Guardian reported. The rock ‘n’ roll star campaigned for Obama during two presidential runs.

Springsteen also supported the campaigns of former President Joe Biden and former Vice President Kamala Harris.

During a short Instagram video in which he endorsed Harris, Springsteen said Trump was “the most dangerous candidate for president in my lifetime.”

Springsteen, 75, performed a series of concerts for Harris in late October, when he was joined by Obama.

James Comey escorted from his home as he's investigated for making 'threat' against Donald Trump

 

Former FBI Director James Comey was escorted from his home to be interviewed by the Secret Service about a social media post that Republicans insisted was a call for violence against President Donald Trump.

CNN showed video of Comey, 64, leaving his house in his suburban Virginia and heading to the Secret Service’s Washington field office just before 6pm.

The interview is part of an ongoing Trump administration investigation and is expected to help investigators assess the purpose and intent of the post, and whether Comey intended to communicate a threat to the president, which he flatly denied.

Any decision on whether charges should be filed would be up to Attorney General Pam Bondi, Trump said on Friday, though there's a high bar in proving that comments or posts amount to direct threats of violence.

The interview is standard for the Secret Service while investigating comments perceived as potentially threatening.

At issue is an Instagram post from Thursday in which Comey wrote 'cool shell formation on my beach walk' under a picture of seashells that appeared to form the shapes for '86 47.'

The Merriam-Webster dictionary says 86 is slang meaning 'to throw out,' 'to get rid of' or 'to refuse service to.'

 It notes: 'Among the most recent senses adopted is a logical extension of the previous ones, with the meaning of 'to kill.' We do not enter this sense, due to its relative recency and sparseness of use.'

Numerous Trump administration officials, including Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, asserted that Comey was advocating the assassination of Trump, the 47th president. 

FBI Director Kash Patel said the bureau was also supporting the investigation.

When asked about it on Friday during a Fox News interview, Trump said: 'He knew exactly what that meant. A child knows what that meant. If you're the FBI director and you don't know what that meant, that meant assassination. And it says it loud and clear.'

He deflected a question on what he thought should happen, saying the decision would be up to Bondi.

The post was deleted on Thursday after it was made, with Comey subsequently writing: 'I posted earlier a picture of some shells I saw today on a beach walk, which I assumed were a political message. I didn't realize some folks associate those numbers with violence.'

“It never occurred to me but I oppose violence of any kind so I took the post down,” the now-crime novelist wrote.

Trump was wounded by an assassin’s bullet at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvanie on July 13, 2024, and then almost  shot at by another would-be assassin at his West Palm Beach, Florida golf course on September 15, 2024.  

Trump and Comey have had a fraught relationship dating back nearly a decade.

Comey was the FBI director when Trump took office in 2017, having been appointed four years earlier by then-President Barack Obama and serving before that as a senior Justice Department official in President George W. Bush's administration.

Dutch photographer and filmmaker Jeroen Wolf has shown the drastic effects of 10-years of aging on people's faces in a short film.

He took headshots of 50 of his school friends — once on their 50th birthdays and again a decade later, with stunning results.

Mr Wolf told the Daily Mail that the comparisons were 'definitely confronting' for some of his subjects, and in a small preview he held for the film, some people refused to look when their faces appeared. 

Some participants have aged better than others, with milder wrinkles over time.

Along with facial lines, another noticeable difference as the subjects speak is their teeth in the two shots. 

Some people have more visible stains at the age of 60.

I’m reading about Tzeela Gez, a young pregnant woman, on her way to the delivery room for what should have been the happiest moment of her life: bringing a child into the world. Her husband was injured in the attack, and together they were fighting for their baby’s life. I can’t help but be pulled back 21 years.

I was there too.

I was also a pregnant woman traveling with my husband on the roads of Samaria when we were ambushed by a squad of terrorists who opened fire on our car. My beloved husband, Shuli, was murdered. I was wounded and rushed into emergency surgery. Our daughter Sara was born in the sixth month of pregnancy, three hours after her father was killed. Her life was hanging by a thread.

And yesterday, as we were celebrating Sarah’s engagement, the terrible news came. The media reached out for interviews, but I couldn’t speak. The pain was too heavy.

I saw Tzeela Gez in my mind — and her husband, whom I pray will recover. I imagined their excitement, their joy as they headed to the hospital. I imagined how they decided: now is the time. And at that exact moment, a squad of terrorists lay in wait — not to target soldiers, not even to “resist occupation” — but to murder Jews, simply for being Jews.

In the past month, you opened numerous checkpoints throughout Judea and Samaria, even as terror cells continued to roam freely. And what concerns you most is how Jews might react?

Look within: how did it come to this?

A woman was murdered on her way to the delivery room — and it’s on you.

You opened checkpoints even though you knew a terror cell was operating in the area — the same cell responsible for four recent attacks and attempted attacks. And why? To “avoid disrupting the enemy’s daily routine.”

You perpetuated the shameful policies of your predecessor, Yehuda Fox. Even when the defense minister canceled administrative detentions, you rushed to override the political decision with deportation orders.

You allowed the antisemitic and disgraceful ‘Massuah’ program — a program that labels Jews as enemies — to remain intact. A program that demonizes the righteous residents of Judea and Samaria (The Masuah Museum in Kibbutz Tel Yitzhak, ostensibly dedicated to commemorating the Holocaust, has been accused of pushing an extremely leftist political line comparing right-wing Israeli politics to Nazi Germany – DI).

You were given the tools and the political support to eliminate the threat in Judea and Samaria, but you chose to act like a timid bureaucrat in a war zone filled with terrorists and weapons. And once again, you failed.

I gave you a chance. I wanted to believe you would be different from those who came before you.

But enough is enough.

Terrorist who murdered Tze’ela Gez eliminated by IDF

IDF forces on Shabbos arrested a Palestinian Authority Arab in the village of Burqin, near Bruchin, and killed another individual in the village. Security officials believe that one of the two was connected to the terror attack in Bruchin in which Tze’ela Gez was murdered.

"As part of the IDF and ISA’s efforts to locate the terrorist who carried out the shooting attack in which Tze'ela Gez was murdered, the IDF conducted targeted searches in the area of Bruchin, adjacent to the scene of the attack, with the direction of the ISA," a joint statement said.

On Shabbos morning, several suspects believed to have been involved in the terror attack were apprehended.

During the apprehension of one of the suspects, a terrorist was identified running toward the forces while holding a backpack suspected of being booby-trapped, shouting "Allahu Akbar."

In response to the immediate threat, the soldiers eliminated the terrorist. No IDF injuries were reported. The IDF is currently verifying the identity of the suspect and whether he intended to carry out an attack.

"The inquiry into the terrorist attack is being led by the ISA and the Israel Police and remains ongoing," the statement added. "The IDF, ISA and Israel Police will continue to operate in order to protect the civilians of Israel."

The manhunt for the terrorist has continued since the attack occurred on Wednesday night. On Thursday, Duvdevan special forces surrounded buildings in the village of Tamun where suspects were believed to be hiding. After an exchange of fire, five suspects were eliminated and one was arrested.

The IDF stated that the terrorists were advancing “significant military terrorist activity,” and searches at the scene uncovered three M-16 rifles and four vests used by the suspects.

Meanwhile, undercover Border Police officers from the Judea and Samaria District arrested three armed terrorists in Tubas. Six M-16 rifles, a handgun, a grenade, and other equipment were seized. Additionally, ready-to-use explosives were discovered in the building where the terrorists were hiding.

Qatar’s ‘gestures’ to Trump raise suspicions on both ends of the political spectrum

 

The government of Qatar had a surprise for President Trump on his recent visit to the Middle East.

That was the release of the last American-born hostage being held in Gaza.

Edan Alexander, 21, was freed by the Qatari-funded group Hamas as a gesture to Trump.

Two questions obviously arise from that “gesture.”

The first: If Hamas can just release hostages like this why won’t they release all of them, whether they were born in America or not?

The answer to that is clear: It is because the Qataris and Hamas don’t want to release all the hostages.

They want to keep hold of them for as long as possible to exert as much leverage as possible.

The second question is less easy to answer.

If Qatar is so close with Hamas, how on earth can they be regarded as an ally of the United States?

It is that second question that has hovered over the president’s trip this week.
